the college football season kicks off in Earnest this weekend the Alani will open things up on Thursday Under The Lights against Eastern Illinois down in Champagne Saturday night Notre Dame heads to Texas A&M in a top 20 matchup while Northwestern host M Power Miami of Ohio earlier in the day the Wildcats temporary Lakefront stadium is drawing a whole lot of interest equally intriguing is who will be Northwestern starting quarterback when they take the field on Saturday a clearcut number one has yet to emerge from the QB competition between grad transfer Mike Wright and red Church sophomore Jack L it sounds like David Braun is going to keep the Red Hawks and everybody else guessing to be very honest with you would would would never keep this inh housee if if the decision was very clear at the beginning of the cam it really comes down to from a defensive coordinator's perspective certainly Miami is studying both Jack and Mike very thoroughly uh they do have a similar skill set but as as a coordinator you only have so much time in the day if if I know as a defensive coordinator who that starting quarterback is going to be there's going to be extra studies that I can go back on and you know that that information doesn't necessarily need to be Miami until game day
