if you know St Andrews at all you know one word to describe this place is windy and Scotland was doing typical Scotland things with the weather I'm hope Barnett and you're watching LPGA now presented by Surf Pro let's get into it so yes there may have been a lot of winds but that did not stop these players from going low in these conditions I'm talking 5 under 67 low Charlie Hull nearly won this event in 2023 so I can't say I'm surprised to see her at the top in St Andrews actually before my round I was in there watching on the TV well I saw the scores and I thought how is she foreign to pass so that was unbelievable score I'll take that now cuz it was gusting a lot on the Range I said to my coach I said feels like they could call it any minute cuz I don't know how the balls were staying on the greens but um you had to go out there sheet 500 play pretty solid and it was a lot of fun she rolled this one in to take a share of the lead on 15 and then for the solo lead on the iconic 18th [Music] wow she's searching for her first major win this week major Champs roning yin and Nelly Corda closed out their first rounds at 4 under they Trail Charlie by one uh I think I just really I'm I'm just really patient today and I just try to play with the win I know um it's tough condition but you just have to have a better attitude yeah this was one one of seven birdies roning had on the third and in case you forgot Melly has already won six times this season because she does things like this and there she goes right behind those two at three under is the big group of mouse saigo Patty tavatanakit Andrea Lee Mi hang Lee jinny shin and the defending champ Lil AV Vu and if this tells you anything about the wind on Thursday here's Jenny almost getting blown over while trying to putt so with the first round complete it's time to gear up for Friday here at the home of golf so be sure to tune in to USA to watch and come back right here to watch LPGA now presented by Surf Pro [Music]
