is here with those much anticipated changes as we're enjoying the cool down feels beautiful out there right now oh my gosh it feels amazing this morning Kelly and it's the morning that's finally arrived where that light extra layer just feels very cozy and I think you're going to want yours this morning and you're going to be able to keep it on throughout more of the day today much cooler for your Wednesday we'll end up with a chance for some shower and thunderstorm activity in our Mountain zones with winds picking up as well so it's going to be quite a change of pace on tap as we have a cooler system rolling into the Pacific Northwest today now a live look outside this morning at the sunow bridge in Reading lit up in that fuchsia and man it's just going to be a really nice morning to get out for a stroll especially if you throw on that light extra layer just feeling a little nice out there temperatures at the moment in the 50s to low 60s in the valley 50s in the Foothills and we're in the 40s for most Mountain zones right now wind out of the East to 7 Miles now we're currently in Chico but most Valley areas seeing winds that are calm heading through the day we start to see those winds really picking up into the afternoon hours 20 to 30 mph gust out of the Northwest to Southeast expected by 5:00 p.m. 30 m hour gust not out of the question by 8:00 p.m. this evening so this is what's going to put a damper on spending some time maybe in your backyard grilling tonight the winds are going to be a nuisance winds still fairly Gusty out of the North tomorrow 30 to 35 mph gust not out of the question and in those winds subside around 20 miles hour or so for the afternoon and then we'll see a shift back to the South Winds on Friday and those winds will be much more modest as we head through the end of your work week and into your weekend humidity has recovered much better overnight into this morning and there's a reason why I'm smiling at this the higher these numbers go the more moisture it is in the air and the tougher it is for fires to start so this is fantastic news 67% are higher across the valley today and starting the day and will'll stay above 35% the afternoon satellite and radar clear skies for most of us overnight into this morning starting to see some showers tracking into the northwest corner of the state from this cooler system that's moving Inland into the Pacific Northwest today and you can see this band of showers extending from Washington down into Oregon and then it's going to brush across the far Northern zones of our region this system is going to cool Us Down lead to those Breezy Northwest winds and leave us with a slight chance for shower and thunderstorm activity and that threat of thunderstorms is mainly going to be just south of the Oregon border the best Chance is going to be in modok and Northern lasson counties this afternoon at 8:00 a.m. Sunny for the most part we're seeing some clouds returning to the northern mountains scattered showers possible from noon through this evening in our higher elevations and again that best chance for very active conditions is resting in Northern Lassen and modok counties this afternoon and evening we're clearing out tonight we stay sunny for tomorrow warming up a bit and then we warm up a little further on Friday with more Sunshine but it's nothing we can't handle Saturday looks to be very similar although slightly cooler than Friday and then a more substantial drop in temperatures with more cloud cover Sunday into early next week showers possible in the mountains and it's going to be substantially cooler it's going to feel like fall as we head in next week's forecast scattered showers with inreasing cloud cover possible for the northern mountains today highs 60s to mid 70s we'll end up in the 60s to 70s in the Sierra and Southern Cascades mostly 60s today showers again most likely from Lassen County to the north mid-60s to mid-70s in the Foothills 76 degrees in Parise 74 from aalan Forest Ranch and little bit 80s in the valley 82 in Reading 84 for Red Bluff 84 for Chico and Orville 85 in Willows today is going to feel so nice this afternoon and tomorrow's not too bad either we'll have the sunshine returning starting out in the 50s ending up in the 80s for the valley back to the lower 90s on Friday and we'll stay there on Saturday as well before we dip back into the upper 70s to low 80s Sunday with more clouds and then mid to uper 70s next week with a chance for mainly Mountain showers Kelly Lows in low to mid-50s highs mid to uper 70s next week feeling very fall-like I think that's something a lot of us are very happy about and we'll have more of your local news that you need to start your day coming up right after this
