Idaho Vandals hope to continue recent success in year three of Jason Eck era

Welcome back. Our temperatures might say summer but football seasons right around the corner here in the in the northwest today meant big sky media day and our sports teams giving us a preview tonight of what to look forward to on the grid iron this year with Idaho Vandals and Eastern Washington Eagles year three of the Jason Eck era in Moscow is set to begin. The Idaho Vandals were picked to finish third in the Big Sky Conference this season and the program boasts five preseason all conference players. That's the fun part about college football seeing which guys are going to merge. And, uh, you know, we had some kind of household names amongst our fans that we lost last year. But uh yeah, we're gonna have some new household names. I'm excited to get back out there on the field with all my teammates, throw the pads on, getting picked third, you know, it's respectable, but you know, it just shows that we got room to improve and got some people to prove wrong. This year. The Vandals have a new signal caller this year and Red shirt sophomore, Jack Lane coach Eck and his teammates believe Lane is ready to run with this opportunity. I think he's definitely ready for it. That's one of the hardest working guys that I have ever met. He puts a lot of time in, outside of practice and, you know, he's a good leader of the team. He, he does a lot of things right on and off the field and I definitely think he's ready. I'm excited to see what he does this year. That's a guy that's always locked in. I mean, no matter what he's doing, I see him in the KB dome, probably 80% of his day is in the K dome. He, he never leaves there. He's always hustling. You know, that's a guy that I'm excited to see play as for the vandal defense, it boasts three preseason, all conference players and even under new coordinator Dan Jackson, the team believes the defense will be one of the strength of this year's squad. This year's defense is going to be a powerhouse, have fun trying to get past us. That's all I got to say. We're going to be strong. We're gonna be good for us to be a championship team for us to win the big sky. We got to have the best D line in the conference this year and I think that's uh within our grasp. The Vandals will now begin fall camp next Wednesday in preparation for their season opener on the road in Eugene against college football playoff favorite, the Oregon Ducks.
