Princess Anne arrived in downtown Moncton via helicopter on Friday she met with moncton's mayor before laying a wreath in front of the memorial in honor of the three RCMP members killed in the 2014 shooting she spoke with RCMP officers as well as the families of the slain officers it's part of a weekend-long visit to Mark the 175th anniversary of the 8th Canadian Huskers Regiment of which she is Colonel in Chief the Miller family was among the crowd Carolyn Miller says her family has always admired the Royals they're always in the spotlight and and followed so closely and yet they speak so eloquently and it's just amazing how they handle greeting and and actually expressing care and um gratefulness for even the people who were here today who serve our country Gail Miller brought her son to meet then Prince now King Charles during his visit to New Brunswick in 1983. she's thrilled to be with her grandchildren as they witness their first royal visit this guy he wanted an autograph he spoke to one of the guys from the Scotland Yard and he's got a picture with him the kids were excited to see a real life Princess what was it like speaking to someone from Scotland Yard that was really cool I really like the accent Princess Anne will continue her visit in Sussex on Saturday Suzanne nap Point Global News Moncton
