all right guys we have got our preview here for the Philadelphia Eagles over under 10 and a half interesting year last year they fell down in the playoffs um or as the season kind of went on they started 10-1 though the metrics weren't saying they were 10- one they were saying they were more like an eight- win team but they really fell flat on their face to end the season and then they went into Tampa and got embarrassed really um in a really bad game so it was a really bad way to end though I think a lot of that can I don't want to say be explained away but they had some coordinators Kell Moore Vic fangio come in we'll talk about in a minute and the mix of whatever they were doing at those coordinator positions to end last year is gone which is huge Jaylen Herz is back and healthy um he was definitely injured toward the back half of last season and just playing through it and it was noticeable to me so um we'll see but last year they fell on their face a little bit as the season went on though as I said I think you can explain away some of that stuff but let's jump into the coaching Nick serani head coach um I thought he was a good head coach I still think he's a good head coach but some of the coordinator decisions Midway through the season last year were um you you can't really defend him and some of that stuff but as for the coaching stuff I still think he's pretty good but we'll see as we go in Kell Moore comes in um we'll see if that's an upgrade Kell mois had a interesting play calling career so far um not in love with him but I also don't think he's bad or anything like that so um we'll see and then Vic fangio comes in um historically a great defensive guy um didn't work out in Miami and from what I can tell or from what I've heard that may have just been a Personality Clash thing going on with the rest of the team there um they didn't particularly like him so much so we'll see if he's still got his fast ball hopefully he does for the Eagles sake as there's problems on the defensive end that they need to fix so interesting interesting coaching group but let's jump on into the roster Jaylen Herz as we said he was injured toward the end of last year he'd been playing particularly well or he'd been playing well up to that point in his career or well enough um a dual threat um I think I had him ranked seventh at quarterback perhaps um but as I said he was injured noticeably toward the end of last season so I don't take a lot of what happened in the last season into account um um necessarily he does have some problems with blitzes we'll see if they can iron that out um but I still think he's a very good quarterback uh Kenny picket the backup he's not a starter but backup here is you know that's fine is what it is um running back they add saquan Barkley is a good signing um a lot of money for a running back but in terms of just having him on the roster this year nice um we'll see what he looks like I I think because he's constantly behind a bad line in New York that people think that's all it is but saquon's had a decent amount of injuries and he is slowed down a little bit I know people are I'm not saying not to expect great things because this Eagles o Line opens some huge huge holes I mean that was last year what was his name uh Swift there was that that day he went for like 160 and he ran poorly and that the like an average running back would have ran for 210 if I remember that properly that's how poorly he ran but that's how good the o line was like they're going to be giant holds for squin which is obviously great and has never really dealt with that kind of thing before but he's also not saquan of his rookie year either so I think there's a nice medium in there he's still a very very good running back of course Kenneth gainwell been on the team a long time solid they drafted will Shipley who's been playing well in Camp we'll see um what his snap count looks like if he can get a couple snaps here and there I think he will but um yeah solid solid Running Room uh running back room wide receiver is interesting AJ Brown is Elite Devonte Smith is a top end number two um and that's kind of it Unfortunately they trade for Johan Dodson who's I've never well I was a fan coming out but he just doesn't seem to have it to me um but we'll see as he's not the primary or secondary guy here um if he's working better on third string corners or Nichols or wherever they may move Devonte Smith inside but either way um we'll see if Johan doson can make a step Johnny Wilson Britain ly at they've got a bunch of wide receivers on IR it's really really really thin um after the first two but the first two are Elite in their position so it's interesting they got to stay healthy they really can't fall apart at that position in particular tight end um it's okay Dallas Gard um Grant calat Tera okin eam he's has the tools but he's never really put it together gd's been solid his whole career um he was the lead at one stage he's solid now um and I don't see why he won't continue to be solid um so a decent room there offensive line is interesting there are very very good players on it Mila at left tackle is excellent Dickerson at left guard is excellent Lane Johnson still excellent so there are three positions and at the tackles too which is nice um where you have really really good line play um the middle Jason Jason Kelce retires um I think it's a little bit overblown I know there have been some things going around like we won't be a they won't be able to do the tush push and you know crazy stuff like that I he's an excellent Center Kelsey but also Jam Cam Jurgens has been really good at guard he's been right next to him um pretty much his whole career and I don't think that drop down is the problem here I think the big drop down is Cam Jurgens will move from Right Guard and Steen will probably step in and that's a step down if you consider what he's been what he's kind of put on tape so far in his career so that's probably the step down I'm not expecting some giant step down at Center but the rest of the line is really really good um so I don't think the o line has necess problems necessarily defensive line pretty good still I really love the ition of Bryce Huff I think he can potentially have a better year than reck was having toward the end there really really good Josh wet is solid on the other side um they have Nolan Smith behind him who's not really hit the ground running necessarily would like to take a step and you know have some extra rotation in there um the middle is interesting Jaylen Carter was really dominant at the start but kind of fell apart with the rest of the team um so we'll see if that was just a uh you know morale thing or if he really did come down just a little bit off that crazy start to the season he had um Jordan Davis like him to take a step as well on the inside so there's plenty of talent here some young Talent as well and you hope they can all take a step and really really push for a really good good dline um the talents there just got to make them do it or they just got to do it we'll see what fangio kind of helps there as well with some of his scheming uh linebacker unit is the worst on the team by margin um the Kobe Dean hasn't got going he had injury problems things like that Devin white has had one good season and that's kind of it um Zack Bon is played four years less than 700 snaps so this is a really bad unit this is like a bottom two three four unit here if NOCO Dean doesn't come in and like light it up it's a really bad unit um secondary interesting to say the least uh they bring back Gardner Johnson he can play safety he can play Corner expect him to play safety here next to Reed blankin ship they're both okay both solid nothing great um Avante Maddox is back I've seen him on the depth chart listed at safety um I think he'll play a bit of safety he play a bit of nickel we'll see as we go um but it's nice to have vonte Maddox back for sure SLE still has legs um not who he used to be but still talented enough to get the job done Bradberry doesn't really but he's also on IR so we'll see uh key Ringo another one who probably swap between safety nickel or safety and Corner interesting player but needs a lot of work um they bring in a couple rookies too quinan Mitchell um Cooper deine interesting um I expect Mitchell to start in the secondary Cooper dein's interesting he's not had a ton of time playing so he's just going to be a subpackage guy I expect can play nickel can probably play Corner safety can play variety of different positions which um comes along with a lot of the players in this secondary which is good um but I think this second this secondary should step up from what it was last year and hopefully Vic fangio can help with that regard as well so interesting secondary I don't think it's as bad as last year linebacker unit's really bad dline is good so an interesting defense and then of course an actual defensive coordinator with genuine talent in there as well so that's kind of hopefully that's just a big step up in itself um but yeah I like the team I like the top end of the team love the o line love the running back room uh love the top two receivers tight end rooms decent like the quarterback um so I really like the team and you're kind of just looking for things to mesh with the new coordinators um some rookies in some tough spots whether it be you know Corner something like that um so an interesting team with a lot of upside in my opinion um schedule really interesting to start they get Green Bay in that weird game in Brazil um that nobody seems to want to be a part of um then you have Atlanta at home at New Orleans at Tampa Bay so you run through the most of the NFC South to start the season which is interesting we'll get a gauge on kind of everything there then you get an really early buy and a really bad spot for Cleveland out of the buy as Philadelphia host them at home that that is I don't want to say it's a scheduled loss this is the NFL but the scheduling and the play and the positions there are are really really bad for Cleveland um and then you get at the Giants at Cincinnati then home to Jacksonville then at Dallas Washington it's a that's that's an easyish stretch well I don't want to say tough stretch but you're those are all winnable um Giants you're most likely going to win Jacksonville at home Washington at home or good games there for you and then at Dallas at Cincinnati or not easy necessarily but you're not like six point dogs there so they're winnable um and then you get at this is a tough stretch here at the ram well I guess it's three and four if you include Dallas at the Rams at Baltimore after Washington so you go at Dallas Washington at the Rams at Baltimore then you have Carolina at home pit at Washington Dallas New York so the dip down or the end of the season is really nice like if you can get through you get to the last five and say you're how many wins you're looking at six if you're hoping for seven I mean there's a world where they start 5-0 to me um even if I gave them three wins there you win at the Giants after that home to Jacksonville Washington so before you even get to those last five if you have six wins um those five are winnable and we're talking about 11 win season possibly 12 if everything works out the way you want it to work out um so it's a uh it's an interesting interesting stretch um but a really good stretch if you want to kind of fall into the playoffs there kind of just I don't want to say ease your way but you can probably keep everybody healthy you pile up wins and then you're into the playoffs at a home game when you got Dallas at home Giants at home and then the home playoff game that's a really nice you know down stretch there so really like that how that leads into the playoffs as well so difficult positions here on the schedule but a really nice wind down into the playoffs as well that really helps you out so um I really like this team um I'm not in the camp that this team falls off I'm not going to add any bets we have bets already we have a bet on them to win the division a bet on them to win the conference and a bet on them to win the Super Bowl so we're pretty high on Philadelphia here and uh yeah that is our preview for the Eagles
