and I thought this is the divisive figure this is the irresponsible person no this is the most responsible unifying behavior of a leader I think I've ever seen a weak president will wreck his country and that's exactly what we've seen the more Tucker watched the video the more he realized that everything had changed after that moment I watched I watched the video of what happened in Butler Pennsylvania about 15 50 times I think I was of about 8 billion people around the world who watched it and the more I watched it the more it struck me that everything was different after that moment everything this convention is different the nation is different the world is different Donald Trump is different what Trump displayed on Saturday was strength something so fundamental and genuine that it was impossible to fake it was clear to everyone watching that this was the real deal what Trump displayed on Saturday was strength of the most basic kind that is absolutely impossible to fake you can think whatever you want about Trump or whatever you've heard about Trump you watch that tape the guy in the face and is bleeding and forces the Secret Service to allow him to stand up and faces the crowd the effect it had on Donald Trump was huge it wasn't just about being the nominee for a political party anymore he was seen as the leader of a Nation he stood up after being in the face bloodied and put his hand up I thought at that moment that was a transformation this was no longer a man well I think that I think it was divine intervention but the effect that it had on Donald Trump he was no longer just a political party's nominee or a former president or a future president this was the leader of a Nation anyone watching that video of trump shooting would come away thinking that he absolutely has to leave the country I mean very few people are tested in the way Trump was tested on Saturday and not only did he pass he got the highest score ever recorded and so you can't look at that and it's not again it's not fak that's just real it's undeniably real no one staged that and so anyone who looks at that video I think comes away thinking that person has to lead the country the presidency comes with immense power and while it's a title that's given through a specific process that process can be subverted I think I mean I'm I've spent most of my life in Washington where the you know the president is the at the top of the pyramid every wants to be the president but if you think about the presidency comes with great power obviously but if you think about it that is a title that is bestowed by a process of some sort that can be subverted and in the end it does not confer by itself as no title does legitimacy just cuz you call yourself the president doesn't mean that much inherent L I can call my dog the CEO of huet Packard it doesn't mean she is it's it's true and you hate to say it but it is also true is a fact that you could take I don't know a mannequin a person and make him president if you no you could you could I'm just saying theoretically possible with enough cheating that could happen but being a leader is very different it's not a title it's organic you can't name someone a leader a leader is the bravest man that's who the leader is that is true in all human organizations this is a law of Nature and in that moment Donald Trump months before the presidential election became the leader of this nation that was the most obvious to me when Tucker reached out to Trump after the shooting he didn't say a single word about himself instead he only expressed how amazed he was of the crowd for standing their ground and not running and I have to say you know I I I think it changed him reached out to Trump within hours of it that night and things the first thing I thought was well of course they didn't run his courage gave them heart a Leader's courage gives courage to his people and the second thing I thought was this is the selfish guy I've been hearing about for N9 years really not a word about himself about his people period and the second thing I noticed which I don't think anyone has remarked upon in public but I'm just going to since I'm script like why not is that he turned down the most obvious opportunity in politics to inflame the nation after being to inflame the nation which is an opportunity that almost every other politician I've ever met and certainly his opponents would have taken instantly and they would have said well what is this how did he get sh like how did this happen and those are real questions that we have to get to the bottom of but in the moments the days the week after the he did not say that he did his best to bring the country together and I thought this is the divisive figure this is the irresponsible person no this is the most responsible unifying behavior of a leader I think I've ever seen so the question is where is he leading us and I could go on for hours but I let me just sum it up I do think the entire point from the famous escalator ride 9 years ago until today of of Donald Trump's public life has been to remind us of one fact which is a Leader's duty is to his people to his country and to no other that's the point that's the only point and another word for this is democracy true democracy is based on the idea that the citizens of a country actually own that country it means that the people are in charge and have a say in how things are run democracy in case you're a little sick of being beaten in the face with democracy on television actual democracy is the proposition that the citizens of a country own that country they're not renters they're not surfs they're not they are the owners of the country and for that to be true their leaders have to represent them which another way of saying they have to do what the people want them to do or a close approximation thereof but if if they completely ignore what people want not just one year but generationally say for 50 years then it may be I don't know what it's not a democracy and so I think the entire Trump project paradoxically is attacked as an enemy of democracy is to return democracy to the United States hey let's pay attention to what people actually want and the lack of interest in that question in Washington is something that ultimately drove me out of the city after 35 years lawmakers stepping over the prostrate bodies of their fellow citizens oding on to go cast votes to send money to some foreign country yeah actually we've lost more Americans from in the past four years than we lost in World War II yeah our bloodiest more than we lost in World War II does anybody care it is pathetic it is pathetic and you hear a single word from Washington about doing anything about we know where the drug coming from we know the supply routes the US military spent billions hoim and Trail you don't see our commanderin-chief suggesting that we use our military to protect our country or the lives of its citizens no that's for you and it's too much actually it's too insulting it's too insulting it's a middle finger in the face of every American it's a very clear statement which is mistakable and that is we don't care about you no matter what anyone says about Donald Trump Tucker found him to be a genuinely wonderful person and the funniest one he's ever met and Donald Trump whatever you say about him and I think he's a wonderful person I know him well by the way the the funniest person I've ever met in my life actually you can't be funny without perspective or with that empathy which is true but everything else about Trump aside he actually cares because he's interested in the people who lives here live here because that's his job a father's job his duty is to his family an officer's duty is to his men a President's duty is to his citizens and he seems to be the only one who thinks that and in his choice for vice president JD Vance he's made that really clear JD Vance I'll say this about him is a thoroughly decent man and I'll just admit it a friend of mine one of the very few politicians in washhington who actually is very close to his own wife which is wonderful to see and she's wonderful actually but JD Vance has views that are closer to Trump's voters than anyone else in Washington in office therefore he's the vice president that's called democracy so I will stop on just one point and that is what's happened over the past month since the and particularly on Saturday in Butler I think a lot of people are wondering what is this this doesn't look like politics something bigger is going on here I think even people who don't believe in God are beginning to think well maybe there's something to this kind of feel at this point that any you know first of all anyone who thinks the status quo is a good idea is probably not convincible you know if you let tens of millions people into your country illegally you destroy all your cities you wreck the economy you can't afford to go out to dinner you know things AR going well and if you're willing to ignore that then you're probably not someone I can persuade I would say that um never give up on anyone but I you know probably best to just pray for those people and instead of talk to them about politics the core problem in the country right now is bad leadership it's the main issue affecting everything else and holding back progress I really think the the core problem in the country right now is bad leadership and by bad I mean weak and I think more broadly weak manner the problem you know you watch these schools indoctrinate kids and try and turn them into freaks circus Freaks and in the country that I grew up and the dad would just just punch the counselor out you know put me in jail I don't care like you you you weirdo I mean that's like child molester stuff talking to my kids about without telling me where's Dad he should be beating the you know this person like physically and I'm happy to I just said I'm against violence but that's like a very basic it's like that's the most basic requirement of fatherhood but also of leadership more broadly is to be willing to for the people in your care period And if you're not willing to do that you're contemptible and what is that what are we looking at when we acknowledge that well we're looking at the fact which is strength is the basic requirement of leadership weak leadership is an oxymoron and with weak leaders a nation a family a weak father will destroy a family you know a weak officer will get his men and a weak president will wreck his country and that's exactly what we've seen I mean Biden's core problem is weakness what's your prediction for themes this week at the RNC from a from a messaging expert who's got his pulse on things what should the campaign really focus on not just for president Trump and Mr Vance but for people out here in in the audience and digitally who are going to be involved in local campaigns what do we need to be emphasizing rhetorically well I mean I think can I say one thing really quick which is the definition of strength I think needs to be a little more precise strength is not abusive Behavior or authoritarian Behavior that's what weak people do that's what gret and Whitmer did during Co in the neighboring state of Michigan this is a demonstrably weak person with a facelift who's like terrified to go out in public and yet she's telling people they can't buy paint in a paint store that's not strength that's fragility she is fragile and brittle and that's why she's acting that way someone who's genuinely strong in command doesn't need to keep proving it people can just sense it it shows in the way they carry themselves their decisions and how they handle tough situations true strength is calm that's the first thing about strength someone who's actually strong is in command doesn't need to prove it because people can smell you know it's fine actually and I think I do think the campaign is trying to say that in its Unity message and a lot of people hear unity and they think well Unity implies some sort of compromise conversation you can't have a conversation with people who are unwilling to compromise the left which is a religious movement is unwilling to compromise on any level at all they won't even admit men can't become women so you how can you have Unity with people like that and of course you can't but I think what they're really trying to say is Let's ignore some of the insanity actually be in charge you don't need to constantly remind people you're in charge just do it I mean a good Father's not constantly telling you how hard he works to you know pay for the food you're eating he just does it missing her calling she really should consider a career in maybe I don't know cartoon voiceover work or regional theater I'm sure Summer Stock somewhere would love to have her Talent so leave the governance to someone who doesn't spend her days either cackling through recipe descriptions or ducking reporters questions but this inconfidence is getting harder to spin as a senator then a VP the woman's been on the national political scene since 2017 but the old obam crew is downplaying her weaknesses typical for just they're just typical for a political newcomer the fact is vice presidents are known but they're not known she's done a very good job in the first phase of filling in uh information about herself and um she's made up a lot of ground but this is a neck-and-neck race she's made up a lot of ground we've known her since 2017 David come on I mean I feel bad for him what else is he going to say but as we enter the fall push and it's going to be a push it looks like a neck-and-neck race for the White House now I realize a lot of you and a lot of you came up to me over the weekend I was up in New England you you you're stunned that given Harris's nightmarish record it could be this tight at all how could it possibly be yet the Democrats have a nominee do not forget who they don't trust to make a single Le unscripted statement while the Republicans they're led by a man and the both both members of the ticket who's already ended the political careers of Hillary Clinton Joe Biden and who has the most loyal and fervent fan base in American politics and that's Donald Trump and of course on the key issues the economy inflation immigration president Trump has a clear advantage of course the Democrats have the media and of course they have a lot of money and there're still drop boxes you're going to worry about and last minute court cases we'll get into that they don't have a candidate who can actually do the job and we've seen the chaos that such a situation under Biden but they don't have a candidate who can actually do the job and we know the chaos that such a situation created with Biden so for pulling this hide the candidate routine again it should cost Democrats dearly and November first is how he hyped up his upcoming deployment to Iraq only to retire before he got his official deployment orders when he announced he was running for congress he made a big deal of the deployment saying as command sergeant major I have a responsibility not only to ready my Battalion for Iraq but also called to serve if called upon and then this I don't want to speculate on what shape my campaign will take if I'm deployed but I have no plans to drop out of the race I am fortunate to have a strong group of enthusiastic supporters and a very dedicated and intelligent wife both will be a major part of my campaign whether I'm in Minnesota or Iraq but then it was so much for the if I'm deployed part of it because on May 16th 2005 he retired with the rank of Master Sergeant 2 months later his former Battalion gets their official deployment orders and the following March they're shipped off to Iraq now even though he had the right of course to retire after 20 years that obviously left a very bad taste in the mouths of some of his fellow Guardsmen including Thomas Barons who took walls' place
