USA Gymnastics Makes Bold
Hezly Rivera Declaration.
Simone Biles, Suni Lee and Jordan Chiles
were the Big 3 for the United States women's gymnastics team in the recently
concluded 2024 Paris Olympics. Combined, these three superstars bagged five individual
medals in the Summer Games while also teaming up to win gold in the team all-around final.
The two other team members of that incredible gold-winning routine were Jade Carey and
16-year-old Hezly Rivera. For her part, Rivera did not exactly have a show-stopping
performance in the team final, but there is no denying that she played a crucial role
for the squad all the same. The fact that Rivera came home with a gold medal around
her neck is a clear testament to this fact.
So much so, that USA Gymnastics recently came
out with a bold declaration about Rivera and what the future holds for this young lady.
At 16, Rivera was the youngest athlete in the U.S. delegation for the Paris Olympics. This
was her first-ever appearance in the Summer Games, and she earned a ton of invaluable
experience throughout this entire process.
As USA Gymnastics stated, this is only the
beginning for the young phenom. She is fully expected to be a crucial part of the team in
the upcoming 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, where she could be in line for a bigger role, especially if Simone Biles opts not to take
part in what would be her fourth Olympic run.
