Chapter4; Etsaut To Cauterets; GR10 Route Crossing The Pyrenees

[Music] okay so we're all packed up started day 15 week three where are we going well we're in ET out my pronunciation isn't very good and we need to go to the shim de mature which is it looks like about 2 kilm cut directly out of the Limestone um uh Cliff face cut directly out and then we climb uphill for about, 1500 MERS which is our biggest climb so far and that'll take us 15 km of climb up to C deos and then we'll hopefully get down a little bit down towards Lac De bu Aris um and maybe Camp there at that lake tonight if we get that far that's about yeah [Music] otherly magic lunch [Music] [Music] hit 2,000 M woo okay so we're at 2,185 elev and what of [Music] you so we came from over that pass and now we're going down it's just incredible [Music] [Music] millions of moths [Music] okay so end of day 15 we're going to set camp in this lovely place it's gorgeous it was a difficult day but good because of the weather we were how many hours stomping do you think we look 11 11 hours with breaks um it was epic it was pretty epic it was one and a half car and two hols up we aren't fully down yet though so we're just camped here beside a river which we just had a little dip in which was lovely and we're going to make cuscus for dinner anything else and lentils and lentils yeah our water filter's gotten eaten by something and our tent poles tried to be dragged away we don't know what it is but we think it might be a marush giv us a bit of a fright um but we're taking everything inside now now it's a bit of a fright but I think it's a marmish but she's happy the rest of us got a fres but we're all right now figuring it [Music] out well this metal looks lovely rested with marids and mosquitoes leaving this heavenly hellhole quote dad fairly Speedy setup get out of there pretty little breakfast stop yeah stand in kids stand in kids stand in some more it's been gorgeous but all of a sudden there's Thunder and this cloud is rolling in ominous there is supposed to be a storm thankfully we had dinner in the middle of the day so having olives and rice cakes and cheese or crackers as well in the middle of a thunderstorm perfectly spread chocolate and rice cakes oh my God we are glad to be in the tent start of day 17 yesterday was an easy enough day there was a decent bit of climb today we're avoiding a mountain because it's snow on top but that means we're going by a village of Supermarket because we we mostly run out of build the tree has grown over the side out of the forest and into the town DED into this little town of Mel running up the hill because we have 5 minutes more before the supermarket closes for 2 hours so we were going to get food from the supermarket because we run out that they actually closed at half 12 rather than 1 and they still don't open until 5:00 so we're going to look around the town and see if there's anything around to get food from so this town is pretty dead and we couldn't get food anywhere so we're cooking off our last bit of lenos and rice outside the tourist office so we can get to the next town which is about 8 km away so after our ltil was and rice we decided it was too much of a risk not to get to a supermarket today so we decided to stay until 5 now but all the tourist office here sold was honey and wine so Mom and Dad have been having a bit of wine we've been scoffing away out a bit of Honey stocking off and taking off the packages sizes of Merm small oh large and chunky Peach is my craving for the last 5 days 5 Hour [Music] Breaky Little [Music] River it's a baby he's so cool he's just just clumsy is the bigger one gr10 is one Relentless big hill so we found a really nice little Buffy that we're going to stay in tonight we didn't know it was here nice surprise yeah after a 700 meter climb just before 9:00 at night this is the incredible view that's just out our door it's all covered in Mist a few minutes ago so we couldn't see it [Music] cooking porridge on this gorgeous stove in the body trying to dry out our wet sauce before we go into a wet day H tourist office to day 18 no Marmet i' lovely Pard for breakfast yesterday is all gone uh today be around 5 km of flat and then slightly down to the next town and then there'll be a lot of ups and downs but it should be easy enough another saggy walk so we've just been walking through the last hour and a half of the lashing range we've arrived here in this really nice restaurant in a hotel just stuffed our shoes with uh newspaper and the woman here said that that built that so we decided to stay in this really nice place lete because the weather had a 95% chance of thunder storms place is basic enough but the owner is really nice uh so we're just about to have a hot shower now the place has a shoe dryer they know Walkers all right having cuscus to so we got a big map here so that makes way more sense because all these little Maps we're very difficult to so one of the g go down here and goes up here the other one just cut straight close to here so we save some days so we're going to do this version cuz it's a lot better just a [Music] starter started day 19 good to start off in dry clothes rain I had a really nice day here great breakfast just start bath [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] another secret tunnel [Music] [Music] oh St about 6 and a half hour walk we've arrived at the Super Market be able to half fre you need wait another 25 minutes for that and then we count on to a few more [Music] [Applause] hours that's the Village that we just came from less than an hour ago we walked for about 8 hours today after a good rest yesterday we set up camp it's near enough to a road it'll be fine enough cuz we'll be off early [Music] tomorrow so we're about 2 km away from the Ste we've already done a good bit of today's stage we've only got around 13 and a half kilometers left but we've got around 1,300 [Music] [Applause] [Music] me giant Gra MHO lovely Lake to deciduous going up over [Music] he going up into the cloud cloud all around look there's the rock that we saw from the bottom 2,000 [Music] M we're at the top flowing to the SK end of day 20 we set off about 9 and 1 half hours ago we had a good few breaks uh we've arrived at the place mom really wanted to go for a swim in the lake but we've been walking through clouds in the last few hours we still are in it so we're sitting on the most lumpy ground ever but yeah R third of the way through the fog's cleared a bit it's very beautiful but it's still [Music] freezing start day 21 freezing amazing VI appreciate it but a few hours down into a Big Town c um then we'll go on a few hours after Ash but yeah Frozen what sucks that sucks wased feet Lake miserable more like Scot here look like of the clothes anytime ponchos and our swimsuits we all got clean clothes we've done our shopping it's roasting it was freezing this time yesterday day and now we're going to go off walking for another 3 hours or so cuz
