And in a couple of days Norfolk State University and their football team is going to be here on a major stage for the mi swack challenge. It's a major stage one in which former Spartan Don Carey. Now, Chesapeake City councilman says he cannot wait to see his school get the exposure that it deserves. Carey is a former NFL player who spent 10 years in the league. He's the first Norfolk State Spartan on the football team to get drafted to the NFL since the school went into its division one athletic era. Carey says opportunities like this give exposure that could mean more resources for the school and for the players. He even remembers what it meant for him when he got on the stage like this. But it reminds me when I played at Norfolk State, I was having phenomenal games against me at teams, but it wasn't until I got exposure that, you know, the scouts in the NFL began to really take notice.
