hi there I'm Lisa Guerrero with Inside Edition and you are watching Bay Area sports WP okay we're here for the second half of our postgame press conference tonight uh we're joined by head coach Ian Russell uh do we have any live questions here in the hey uh uh is there any updates at this point about uh mun's injury and also I'd like to hear about the rationale behind putting him so far forward near the end of the match yeah I mean he he hurt his hamstring so he pulled it and rather than play a man down cuz we'd already made our five Subs we we had to put him somewhere or we could play Down him in but he actually almost scored at the end so uh we just thought we'd throw him up front if we have him in the backs you know he couldn't run anymore so uh thought it'd be the least uh dangerous place to put him Paula good evening um let's talk about the first half buas go and I have another question um what would be the key to find that consistency back from real Sal especially you guys going to be playing away from home with uh B hward in Seattle thank you so much yeah I thought um we didn't start great uh it's good for Buddha to get that goal you know Buddha has been a really bright spot these last two games I thought he played well in Salt Lake and played well tonight I'm glad he got rewarded um but again it's we have to be consistent right from the start of the you know right from the first whistle we had some moments but um I think it wasn't our best game tonight Marco and you know you guys go how that win and then guys come back cure is just kind of a I guess what I want to ask is how do you maybe stop the one step forward two steps backward approach that so far has been going on the season yeah um you know we had a really good week of training and you know the start of the half or end of this first half I thought we started getting control of the game and um you know created some chances but just you know didn't didn't capitalize and they did on they had a long throw they flicked it in and and got a goal that way but yeah again it's just been trying to be consistent uh I think over the last six or seven games we've been pretty good in every game um and again this is a game that we could have tied at the end so it's uh you know we're making progress but it's frustrating to to lose at home Brian so outside of the lafc game youve basically been right in there and the the games that gamees saved this the first game against Stanford MH um how much do you feel that you are getting the consistency especially defensively which you of course have to start with in football and then being able to add that that offense in as you as as you stabilize it yeah no I think it's been getting consistently better uh defensively you know um starting with our our front three pressing and we won a we've been winning a lot of balls high up the field we we created turnovers against Salt Lake that led to two goals um so it's about being consistently good at doing that but just you know limiting chances and I think we've as The Season's gone we've gotten gradually better better at that so I'm happy with that Michael all right so Buddha got their goal and almost got a second goal great saved by their goalkeeper yeah but their player had two goals and his second goal was highly contested at the uh net so what type of emotion swing did you guys have when it was almost a second goal for Buddha and then they get the second goal by yeah I mean that's always a tough one you you almost score and then they they come back and and capitalize on a on a long throw a set piece basically so it's frustrating but again I I felt like the players they didn't quit they we tried to get that second goal we almost did with mun actually who was really injured at the time so you know as long as we're you know fighting and trying to trying to equalize late you know that's all we can do any other questions um speaking of Buddha uh I'm curious when when he was recalled from loan what was the conversation like uh when when he came back and about like uh what role he was going to play for you well Buddha played two games with with monter Bay and in both games he did really well um scored a goal and was just a handful he he's a he's a tough player to to play against he's strong physical wants to run looks to run him behind um so we just said hey we we liked what we saw and you know we're going to look to get you some minutes here and he's taken that and done really well any have questions thanks coach this is a TV announcer Chris krey for Bay Area sports r please give us a like And subscribe to our YouTube channel
