from ex-husband Brooks Laich, sharing how their relationship influenced their divorce. On the
Jamie Kern Lima show, Julianne explained that her marriage to Brooks was significant for her
at that time. She said she felt like she needed to reconnect with her younger self, seeking safety
and stability—something she felt Brooks provided. As Julianne started to grow and change,
especially as she began to explore her identity and sexuality, she noticed
their dynamic shifted. She realized she was becoming more of an adult and
wanted to listen to her own voice, not just the younger part of her. This change
led to a disconnect between her and Brooks, who was dealing with his own challenges,
including losing his hockey career. Julianne described it as a time when she
was expanding and Brooks was contracting, which made it hard for them to understand
each other. They both acknowledged they lacked the maturity to handle
their differences at the time. Looking back, Julianne and Brooks both
