yeah you know hey look McKenzie threw the ball really well for five innings um you know I gave him every opportunity to try to get out of the sixth inning he just couldn't do it but um he threw the ball way better way better uh efficiency was good he was tacking the strike zone everything was down when he got hit he got the ball up um but he threw the ball better the two you know Joe and uh and Adon threw the ball really well coming in you know from the bense and I was that was awesome to see just offense you know offense didn't show up today you know we couldn't get nothing going I know s Sanchez mixed up his pitches um you know for the most part he kept the ball town we just couldn't couldn't get nothing going offensively for McKenzie as you said I think this is basically the lowest he's kept the ball all season how much of that was the plan going in versus what you think he was assessing this game uh we've talked about you know throw keeping the ball down remember we talked about getting on top of the baseball um did really well did really well and you know his breaking ball was a little better um threw some change UPS today which is good to see I mean we talked about that as well but um for the most part he threw the ball really well for five innings how much of that location is tied to where his velocity is at right now oh it's good I mean he's you know he's at you know he's throwing ball at 95 you but when he throws down the ball plays up you know that's to me that's the key so um like I said he was very efficient um and he threw the ball really well uh he you know he just one um you know one CR ball got got through the infield there I think he got a little little rattle about that and then everything after that got got uh got up in the zone your Bullpen now has a lot more younger pitchers than it did a day ago a few weeks ago how are you evaluating it now games like tonight yeah you know for one you know I talked to them about just throwing strikes right they got to come in throw strikes uh the walks you know the walks will get them you know as they all know we talk about all the time um what I saw today was really really good you know they both came in they threw strikes I know Joe gave up a hit but he you know he jammed roas um ball up the midle but other than that he threw the ball well and then ad D came out threw the ball fantastic he really did so I was really really pleased to see the way he came out and and like I said he you know I think he's starting to understand what his role is um you know it takes a little bit but uh so far you know today he looked good what did you see overall from you guys' approach at the plate and what kind of adjustments were you trying to make as the game went you know left-handed we tried to get the ball out over the plate we swung at balls that were sinking in um randers trying to stay uh stay on the ball tried to hit the ball the other way um you know but we couldn't stay on the ch up you know the breaking ball you know uh the two team was good for him you know Al got a ball up in the zone we drove to right right field but that's I mean think that's where we need to be we just could do it you know I know Riley Adams had hit a bullet up the middle um you know into a double play with it you know that's going to happen in the game Alex K has been hitting breaking balls better this season what do you attribute that to yeah he's staying back staying back you know trying to uh trying to use his hands a little more like I said he's he's really trying to stay in the middle of the field um when he does that you know it's Play It's he's done really well you know it's not P you know I don't know if you guys could remember last year you know he's going to kill our third base coach and uh and now he's trying to avoid that and trying to stay in the middle of the field and with Lou I know we've seen him more against lefties as of late can you walk a little through the process of um the thought process of wanting him to get up there more and just what you've seen from his performance yeah look he's been he's been a lot better he really has you know both against left and right working better at bats today was a little tough on him because he he he saw the he saw the two Seer out of play they kept running in you know in his hands so um but he's been doing he's been doing a lot better he's been playing really well what's the longterm importance of giving a guy like Lou at pass against well you know this is the time of year to see what he can do you right I mean we we we don't we want to see guys play every day you know especially young guys um to see what they can become you know and he's he's earned the right to be out there right now and play you know against tough tough lefties I might do something different um but right now I want to play them as much as I can speaking of Alex what did you think think about him beating out that throw to first pretty heads up play I mean um you the way the way he slid to the base uh pretty heads up but you know that's what you you're going to get that's what you're going to get from Alex call he's going to play hard for you know for as long as he possibly can so um but he's doing well
