what is up guys it's Ian from around the ball HQ and today of course another Jaguars video as you guys know what going to happen um so yeah let's get right into it today we're going to be talking about the first official depth chart for the Jacksonville Jaguars um this is going to be for the preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs um and the reason I want to talk about it is because there is a couple of interesting um moves specifically to the defense um there's a couple notable ones on offense as well but let's go ahead and look at it um we're just going to go from top to bottom this is on jaguars.com um teep chart um if you'd like to look at it um like I said they released this yesterday I'm recording this on Wednesday August August 7th at about 3:30 so this is the first one they could potentially change it you know according to injuries and stuff there's a couple guys that are injured right now um Anton Harrison uh cam Robinson these guys are all battling some injuries right now but we're just gonna go through and talk about it as they're listed um and I believe uh Doug Peterson has already said that these guys will 100% play in game one whether it's it's a drive or two um they will have at least one series playing the entire starting group on offense and defense I do think there's a chance there's some guys that could possibly sit but I don't think that's going to be the case I really think they're going to have every starter play um so let's get into it our wide receiver we have Gabe Davis we have Christian Kirk and Brian Thomas Jr as the starting three and then second string is going to Elijah Cooks Parker Washington and Devin du I I don't think any of these are questionable or um head scratchers I think everybody knew that this was going to be how it was Brian Thomas Jr Christian Kirk Gabe Davis were going to be the three um with Devon du and Parker Washington billing four and five if we were to do a way to early you would probably be seeing Elijah Cooks Tim Jones and Seth Williams really fighting for that last spot possibly last two spots depending on how many wide receivers they take um at quarterback this is a little interesting actually Trevor Lawrence is the first and Matt Jones is listed as the second quarterback that is interesting would CJ Beth be number three that's interesting because they have not they haven't publicly announced anything about CJ Beth um he he's a practice squad guy for me but I don't think he would last on the practice squad so I'm curious what they do with that um so that that's interesting ma Jones being the backup uh which we knew he came in but it's it's interesting that they've already officially put it as a second granted this could change but I think it's notable uh and or they could carry three that's they could uh so let's look at running back Travis is the starter with tank bsby securing the second spot Deus Johnson the third and Jaylen Jackson the fourth with Kellen Robinson the fifth um Kell Robinson I think he's going to make the roster regardless because he was brought in to be a returner uh so Jaylen Jackson he's had a good camp actually so we'll see what they decide on there but I think Kell Robinson is going to be um a lock on the roster cons considering his returning ability his special teams uh tight end Luke frell or sorry Evan Ingram Luke frell are listed as the starting tight ends with Josiah Dora Brenton strange the two Patrick Mya and Shan Bowman the third and then Chris muak is the fourth tight end on the roster nothing heads scratching there I do think Luke frell has had a good camp but Brenton strange has had an amazing in Camp uh so that's going to be something to watch their skill sets are different which is good for the team to have three tight ends with brenon strange and EV Ingram kind of playing similar roles and Luke frell being a very good blocker um obviously they all have the blocking ability but I think Luke verell he's made some insane catches over his career but that's what he's really that's his game I feel like left tackle cam Robinson with the backup being Walker little uh the third string is going to be um H van Lannon and he gave up a stack today in training camp so he could be a potential cut not that one second going to do that but obviously rck Cleveland is going to be the starting left guard Blake Hance is the second and Tyler Shatley is the third um no head scratchers there I think Blake Hance makes the roster Tyler has already publicly said according to oh who was it uh John Shipley that this will be his last year I'm pretty sure that's who I saw um tweeted today that Tyler Shatley said this will be his last year in the NFL uh great career here in Jacksonville I mean it's hard to stay on the roster as long as he has and he's done a very solid job uh Mitch mois starting center Luke forner the back up with Daryl Williams the third string uh nothing notable there we knew that that's why Mitch Morris was brought in Brandon sherf the starting Right Guard with Cooper Hodes getting second spot Keon southernland the third and then Stephen Jones the fourth uh we knew that was going to happen Cooper hodin had some injuries this camp and he was hurt all last year um injury they really like Cooper hajes but his injuries are kind of getting a little concerning but he was a seventh round pick I believe not the end of the world if he doesn't pan out but I think the Jaguars really like him and then right tackle was Anton Harrison Javon Foster those are the only two listed on the roster obviously um guys like Walker little uh Co van Lannon they can kind of move around a little bit uh and Luke forner has been playing a little bit of guard as well in Camp so that's something to keep an eye on all right so here's the defense and this is where I'm not going to go through every single name there's a lot of Corners a lot of D tackles and stuff so I'm not going to go through every single name I'll go through the notable ones um obviously I'll go through the starters real quick um let's go ahead and start at nose tackle Devon Hamilton is the starter Jeremiah Leed better and Tyler Lacy are the second strings and Jordan Jefferson is the third I believe all four of those guys make the roster if I had to guess uh lead better had a really good couple of plays last year and Tyler Lacy's had a really good camp and Jordan Jefferson's obviously a rookie that they have a lot of expectations for uh Eric arm said is he's starting D tackle with Roy Robertson Harris the second Stringer which I love that that is our depth now with our third going to be is SEI automo I butchered that um fourth string is going to be Mason Smith I think this he's a guy that could 100% go up to a third string they drafted him very high but he's coming back from a big injury uh he did play a little bit in college towards the end but I think they're going to try to slowly work him in this whole preseason and then Jonathan Marshall is the fifth string defensive end Josh Hines Allen nothing crazy there with DeShawn Dixon who's also had a solid Camp uh being his backup DJ Coleman and Raymond Johnson third and then fourth string in that order um like I said not really sure uh how that's all going to play out because the other defensive ends on the other side Trayvon walker uh Gibson Travis Gibson rashim green and Miles Cole miles Cole is that guy that they brought in has kind of like a trayon walker build they got him late in the draft last year this P this past draft and uh so I think they have a lot to go for with him and then Gibson's had a very solid C Camp as well the Mike is going to be Foy Al luon the starter obviously ventrell Miller who's had a very solid camp but he's battling a hand injury he's got a cast on right now but he has been practicing and then Andrew Parker Jr is the third uh the will linebacker is going to be Chad Muma and Devin Lloyd no head scratchers there those are your three linebackers with ventr Miller probably being the fourth um you've got Chad Muma who the Ryan neelson came out today this morning and said he can do anything he can go in coverage he can rush the passer he can do whatever he can spy he can do literally everything so I think they've got a big role for Chad Muma coming up this year um obviously I think Devon Lloyd and Foy lukan will be on the field 99% of the time and then Chad mum and ventro Miller will kind of even out the group and then you've got Caleb Johnson and Ty sumers uh Summers and Tanner Muse uh Ty Summers had a solid Camp from what I've seen um and then Caleb Johnson also has made a couple plays um on the second string against second string so we'll see about that the Sam I think has already been um it's going to be between Chad Muma and yir Abdullah that's how the r that it's also listed that way they're both first string um so I think they'll both get a lot of chances to really play uh Saturday night against the Kansas City Chiefs and then Tanner Muse is also listed there so nobody knew other than youir bua on there um and then here we go with the quarterback and this is where it also is a little interesting quarterback Tyson Campbell uh that there is no question mark that he is number one and Ronald Derby is number two however the starting nickel corner on the depth chart is Christian brazwell he's had a solid camp but everybody was kind of expecting Darnell Savage to do that while um Antonio Johnson was the free safety but that is not how the depth chart is worded something they look at I don't know if that's a coincidence or if they're just trying things out they said they were going to play all the starters though and this is what they've got granted it could change by the time the season starts but uh very interesting Tyson Campbell Ronald Derby Christian brazwell as your starters with monic Brown ammani aru waray Trey flowers Christian brazwell and then Tavon Campbell jeren Jones and deontre Prince they're going to have a lot of Corners so that's one two three four five six seven eight nine you could potentially see five six of those on the team uh maybe even more I would not be surprised if they kept more especially with the way the quarterback room was last year Cisco went out a little bit Tyson Campbell was out um so we we could definitely see that and then here we go with the safeties we'll just go ahead with the two starters Andre Cisco and Darnell Savage the two backups are going to be Antonio Johnson and Andrew Wingard uh wingard's battling a knee injury so he could potentially be put on um injured reserve if they think it's going to be more than four weeks that will he'll be out of the regular season um they have not said anything about that so just leave that by year the third string is going to be Terrell Edmonds and Daniel Thomas um I see both those guys making the roster at this point uh Eric howlet the second and Josh Proctor will be the fourth string and then Adrien Amos was just picked up today so um that signing alone makes me think that Andrew Wingard could potentially be out longer than they want uh but like I said it's all it's first game it's first game of the preseason so there's a lot of questions and I do not think they will be answered I mean granted we'll see how good the team plays but that's about it and then let's see the special teams are all very obvious Cam little the kicker the holder and punter is going to be Logan cook Ross MATC is going to be the Long Snapper uh and then punt returner will be Devon duver and Parker Washington as the backup and kick returner will be Devin du and tank so again the new kickoff rule you're going to have guys on both sides to be able to return I mean there's a chance that changes I do not think coaches are going to show their hand when it comes to the kickoff rule in preseason you're going to see the basic stuff and then they could potentially trick it up week one of the regular season because they're going to experiment with this new rule there's a lot of coaches that are liking it don't like it um it's very uh it's going to be new that's all that's all I'll say it'll be new uh but yes that is the official depth chart for week one of the preseason guys if you are new here I post every Tuesday Thursday without a doubt and then I try to sprinkle in uploads and shorts uh throughout the week so if you like Jaguars content and you like football content in general decided on dates on the podcast but I will be doing a
