hello and welcome to the Leicester City versus Aston Villa pre-match preview I'm joined by Luke from Leicester city down under good day how are you sir good mate good how are you um excited as we're recording this it's still the last day of the transfer deadline window so I wonder if anything will happen between now and the game kicking off we're doing this on a Friday we have just signed a player which we'll talk about in a moment but um I'm feeling excited at this point in time all the teams and squads are lined up in the league there can be no more excuses I guess although the season has started the season really starts here so let's go um so yeah we've got a very difficult match coming up this week we're going to talk about that but just before we Ado there's two interesting bits of business that happened or or ler related content that's happened this week first up I would like to say congratulations and thank you to shy Mark all Brighton who's decided to retire from football kind of a surprise I thought he might take one more move in the championship maybe even League one but he's probably thought what's the point why not go out on the high rather than watch your career kind of like sort of trickle away what do you think and what do you make of someone who is a great servant for Leicester city played for us for over 10 years absolutely uh Jim from Villa as well ironically as well they didn't want him and um everyone loves old Brighton you know wasn't really a starting feature the last couple of Seasons but every time you come on you could count on him to put a shift St has a wicked cross into the box um enjoy your retirement mate you've been an absolute Legend and servant of the club absolutely agreed I wonder if he deliberately wanted to wait for this game it does feel a bit kind of like planned very interesting as I said I thought he would move on and and take one more Club but I don't blame you I mean you know it's a it's a career he's already done a lot and you know enjoy it really deserves it so that's one bit of business but here I think is probably the biggest talking point of the week we've been talking all season long about where is the jewsbury Hall replacement I can't believe we haven't signed one Bon not does look good but it's scandalous that all the signings we made we didn't go for someone as the priority signing because it's probably the most important position we needed in the team well now we've just signed a very exciting signing talks about it all week but El Cano just before I pass over to you the reason why I'm so excited for this is because I actually think at the start of preseason when we were looking at potential players we could sign in this position I would actually go as far as saying I thought this was an unrealistic signing I genuinely thought if he was available on the market we wouldn't be able to get him that he would have gone to a top team either in Germany or the Premier League so I'm I'm not actually quite sure how we've ended up with him I'm pretty pleased that we have and I actually think it's good business so I would actually argue that although we haven't had him in for preseason actually getting a player of this quality is extremely impressive because we could have got Gabriel Sara from Norwich I'm a big fan of his there was also another good player called Albert grombach who's gone to to Ren in France and I think he's doing quite good but in my opinion I think this guy is A Cut Above both those two current Belgium young Player of the Year and there's another famous Fox that was once a Belgian young player of the year was Yuri tman who we'll talk about a bit later so not everyone's going to quite hit those sort of heights but I've said enough what do you make of this guy I think what excites me most is I think we've been sorely missing someone that's good with set pieces now granted that I'm only gone off by highlights like probably everybody else but from what I've seen he looks very very efficient with his set piece which has been sorely lacking the last couple of Seasons also looks like almost like kind of similar to wins and the ability to be able to pick a brilliant pass Under Pressure which is and but further up the pitch which is also something that's going to be really efficient into the way we're going to be playing under coper by the looks of it so I think this is a gem of a signing people are a bit apprehensive about the way that he went about it similar to fana but if he does a job and if he were to throw his toys at the cot in a couple of seasons and we sell him and turn a profit then he's done a job for us and we have to remove that but this looks like a proper quality signing looks really good on the ball looks really composed for his age I'm actually very excited and I'm hoping he features Off the Bench in this coming game yeah we'll come on to that he's actually won trophies as well for Gank so he he knows how to win which I think is important and is a Moroccan International which could be good or bad depending on what happens with afcon but very good player right so let's move on then we're up against the villains who finished fourth last season unbelievable season they had recent form they beat Villa on the first game of the season and then they lost at home to Arsenal but this game I think was closer than that score line should suggest Ole Watkins missed at least one incredible opportunity to score and it's funny because Ole Watkins is actually an Arsenal fan so little bit of conspiracy theory as you're trying to make sure they give them the title as Villa beating Arsenal last season is maybe what cost them that so they got three points out the six as for us um we only have one point from the six so far last Premier League match was the defeat of was of bam but we are just coming back up a very good performance and result in the cup admittedly against League 2 opposition 4-nil win over trit so that's kind of exciting I just want to give you some manager comments like to do this before every match in the pre-match some interesting things that he said so he was asked Jordan a you up front he said he can play in a number of positions at the top end of the pitch and that was one of the attractions he's played well in different positions you do want players you can play duel roles and can adapt Jordan falls into that category it was great to see him score hopefully it's the start of many appearances for us um so I'm bringing this up because this is trans for deadline day I think now the obvious Gap in the squad is up front as we'll come to injuries in the moment but with Daka out still for a while we've only really got as a recognized out andout striker of Premier League experienced Jamie vardy Tom Cannon's been linked with moves he might go even today it's back to the championship so um what do you make of that are you confident with Jordan a up front or do you think this is a make or break point in our season I look I think he can do a job but as it stands both the people that we think can do a uh F's more than capable doing a job but they're both you know the end stage of their careers and they're both options that you would think would come off the bench so other than that if we're not going to play Canon or if he goes we've got mad who is not also an out andout Striker on paper with kind of four people that can do a job but only really have you got one that you can count in week in week out 90 minutes no so I would like to get a striker in but I'm just happy to be honest that we've got bow and I think we can make do until January what do you think well that's an interesting on so I was thinking now we'll probably do a video next week on like what we think of the squad now that we finalized it for the first half of the season I think we've definitely improved the squad overall maybe not 100% happy with all of the signings we made Bobby Reid but other than that I I do think that it is quite strong and we've strengthened in all areas and all of a sudden from looking extremely weak we almost do have competition for places in in every single position but if you want to stay in a premier league you need to score goals and I think he's actually been shown of course while you don't want to concede too many you can even stay up on a negative goal difference as long as you're scoring the goals I actually say that last season the main reason Burnley went down is they only scored I think 32 or 34 goals they're less than a goal a game at the moment we are averaging a goal a game so that's that's good but you know we haven't played the big guy guns yet right like man City's Liverpool's arsenals so yes if we're going into the season with as you say not an out andout recognized number nine that you know can do it week in week out of course Peak Jamie vardy that' be a whole different story but he's not Peak anymore um but I'm not sure we will bring someone in and I even if we do who are we G to get on the last day of the window it could be drro fana broa someone like that I mean I'm not sure they necessarily make the squad any better so we'll have to wait and see how it goes but I do feel it could be one of those sliding doors moments that maybe come the end of the season it could be like you know what leester were pretty good but they just couldn't you know score enough and you you look back at that being we should have prioritized a striker but it's not easy to find a good one on the market and case in point is not in them Forest who they're like that guy in a nightclub that's asking every single girl out trying to see if they'll go back home with him and so far everyone said no I'm sure they'll get someone but it definitely won't be their first choice um just moving on now so Cooper was asked how close are we to getting the first premier league win because you've got to make it happen but when we reflect on both games we thought we could had a better result in both of them we go to Every Game believing we can win but we're under no illusions of what we need to do to get over the line the first two games have given us belief that we can win games but also reminded us that if we don't get it right things can go against you we we're really positive in the camp we're infused about what we can do um yeah I guess the longer it goes on the more of you know monkey it is on your back um I think good result against Spurs I didn't know about you but I think overall I was a bit disappointed with Fulham just because it's a team I was really hoping we could get points from ipsw are playing them this weekend as well although they've got them at home but that will be an interesting one because for example if they beat Fulham we'll obviously be looking at us thinking ah we maybe missed an opportunity there um but how are you feeling about the team and you know especially given that we did have a good performance midweek um I'm feeling pretty I'm feeling a lot more positive than I was a couple of weeks ago particularly of the signings and additions have made so I get into later what I think the score could be but I am feeling a lot more optimistic cool well yep just going on to ining news say kod actually did come on midweek so he's actually available for selection I suppose so that means we've only really got one player who's out and unfortunately it's a could be a big player because Striker that's Pat Saka he was out for something two to three months then if you'll need any training coming back I'm still not sure we'll see him this year but maybe we'll see him around Christmas um but yeah that's our current inry list right I'm GNA kind of pass on over to you then Luke so we are up against a brilliant manager he's done so much in his career it's unai Emory he's in charge of Aston Villa what can you tell me about the way that he likes to manage and what Aston Villa's style of play is uh people might shoot me for this comparison but in my opinion he is a lot more efficient uh manager style similar to kind of Brennan Rogers but a lot lot better he does like playing a high line defensively defend away from goal emphasis really on an aggressive press particularly uh when they're draw people out of position minimizing Space Between the Lines prioritizing playing through the middle because as we like to know as we do know about Umar Amory he does like to play with only one man out wide because he likes to prioritize playing through the middle uh likes to pull apart the backline that wide man and the rest of the players create nual advantages in Midfield areas and therefore creating overloads um a lot of offside traps because of the way he plays likes a play of two10 sometimes or even a front two um we've been seeing Rogers been pushing up to basically at a 442 formation if not he favors of 4231 most likely out of possession uh I think he's a brilliant manager he's really turned this club around and with the additions that they've made ever since that Drake uh greish money's come in they've gone further and further since he's come in made more additions made more money so I think they are looking a really really damaging outfit at the moment what do you think yeah I really agree he's a top manager he's won European competitions he's won the league I think with PSG it's funny because he came to this country to take over from Wenger for Arsenal and the Arsenal fans weren't too pleased with him now of course they've got um Mel artetta but you know I can tell that emry felt that like he was not given the best uh you know I think backing there and I think he had something to prove in the Premier League so he's shown up now and he's really really good so um yeah let's talk about some of the things you did so you mentioned the offside trap and highlight and this is they're definitely unique in the Premier League given how much pace is in the Premier League it's almost scary that you You' even try this yet alone pull it off but here I've got a picture and you can see just of How High that their off Sid line is but we also see is I mean well yeah look at how compact the space is if you look at their fervice man forward here that's o Watkins number eight and their back line there's what 15 meters if that so it's a super narrow block there's not much room to play and it does always mean that there's a ball in over the top and we'll talk about how they can kind of Remedy that but it's a very unique feature of their play and yeah that's a crazy the distance to push up given the other team is currently in opposition here I would say it's just it's it's such a shame we don't have Peak Jamie vardy because I really feel that him and Riad MZ to be fair would probably be the you know the perfect counter punch to a team like Villa they'd catch him out time and time again but we haven't got someone who's we haven't got a 28- year old vardy at the moment just kind of coming on to those offside stats as well I mean just look at this so they had 106 offsides against them last season the next was Spurs which had like less than 30 so it just shows you just how crazy and so I wouldn't be surprised Luke if in this game we score a goal and it gets ruled out by V from offside and it probably will be offside because it seems like something that they've practiced a lot um and yeah here's the average position so again you can see from that previous picture just how high up they push you so it's not that they catch you offside but they actually catch you offside quite high up the pitch which I think is important as well because it kind of conserves their I mean it might sound crazy but it's like if you have slow center backs and their center backs are not necessarily the fastest well one way you can kind of avoid getting caught out for the pace is just to never let it get in behind so Pace isn't even an issue it's a big gamble but if it works it is something that can be used very efficiently defensively right so one way that they manage to stop you know what happens if the obvious thing is if you're playing against a team who plays an offside trap is just put the ball in behind right that's the obvious obvious thing to do so another thing that's interesting is again look at how many keeper sweepings here's the stat um they were in the Premier League last year and what you see again is the team who has the most and again by quite big distance is is Emmy Martinez for Aston Villa so how do he do this maybe you can talk to me about through the action here this would be one of you this clearly you at Center back playing this ball over the top what's going on here beautiful ball over to Joe Linton fortunately I believe it's gone off uh go to the next one sorry there we go Martinez has come out swept the ball he cleared his lines it's gone straight to I can't see that Al Al Mar it's gone straight to Al Mar he's gone to the opposition but he's cleared his lines at the end of the day giving the position and the Defenders a chance to slop back in and be Resolute ready for the next wave of attack um absolutely brilliant to anticipate that from ourz and as well takes guts to come and do that as well so they're in sync of one another and he's obviously been very vocal he's called for it he's got there so they're real organized up the back yeah absolutely so that's the thing is that even if we go for this ball over the top and I suggest we will get that I mean I was going to say that in the previous game Christensen managed to find vardy with one of these but because his Pace wasn't like it was it was a bit of an issue and he kind of made a meal out of it but at the same time someone who's composed could cause them problems because I guess you could always knock it around the keeper or something simil like that so it's one of those risk rewards right why don't you talk to him about um Emory High box emer's High box Midfield this is you know kind of not in possession but kind of is very very very clever the way that they work here you go so once they're in possession they have that one wide man ready which is usually Bailey ready to push-up as an option but basically you like talking about superiorities and the way that they press as well like this is very fast and and particularly with teams that aren't you know as confident so this why reason why it works is because it's well organized and the players are all moving off the ball quite similar to how we worked with Enzo as well and there's people that are getting into position off the ball while they maintain it in possession it's just brutal and whilst that's all happening the defense is further pushing up as well ready to lock that ball in so in my opinion it's a very very efficient form of football but you need to have the quality and the coaching to be able to pull it off yeah absolutely it's very interesting the way that they they set up actually so in this example we've got the 19 but quite often that will be Yuri telman um and number 31 as you say is Leon biley and then they'll push their left back up which can be Lucas Dena could be actually they had Alex Moreno but they sent him on loan out so actually they've got Ian Matson sorry they signed didn't they from Chelsea for big money so he might well feature in this particular game I would say there's a few interesting things here so when they play a box Midfield because Leicester tried to do that as well but we do it sort of deeper down the pitch whereas they do it a bit higher dro the pitch you can see that one of the people who started in the 442 drops back to to make this box four um you can also see that John mcin who's number seven he Nally starts as a left Winger but he's not playing left wing at all in the game he's coming in central all the time um and as you say the way that emry likes to play and it's kind of unusual about fer is they love to compact the center of Midfield and try and play everything through the middle um which is an interesting strategy it means that there could be options down the wings on transition but it also means that for a larger up parts of the game you might not get tooo much of the ball because they're just congesting the middle of the park and they're being able to keep control of it I mentioned Tans because we found this out ourselves when he played for us is that he's a great player but he hasn't necessarily got the best Pace but again the way that they play because he's kind of dropping back from further up field to be one of the number 10 he doesn't really need to rely on the pace so much he can rely upon his technical control and ability to pass the same is true of John mcin so I think it's very clever that they managed to play that way and you know speaking of some other people that they to the team recently they've also added um amadu Onana who came from Everton for Big Money he's like really strong bruising very indeedy like maybe a bit better technically on the ball maybe not as experienced um and there's another guy that we're going to talk about in a moment who you've highlighted as your potential key player but it's very interesting to see how they work and I would expect their technical quality that this to be another game where we don't see as much of the ball as we'd like to and it could be a bit of a struggle although who knows maybe with some of the new people that we've added to the the team that May no longer be the case so there's your player to watch that you've called out who is this and why is he important okay so this is Morgan Rogers some of you may be familiar with him he's just spent the last season playing against us at Barra now you could go through your stance and you could say that are the most encouraging stance for his age he's a decent Siz forward he's 6'2 he's quick but what I want to point out is this it's only been two games but he looked insane against Arsenal he missed an absolute how of a sitter but other than that he was causing serious problems now this reminds me of a je beh Hall just after he season loan at Luton there's a certain point in a player's career where they you know anywhere between the neighborhood of 20 22 and they hit their straps and the ascendency just keeps going up and up and they get better every single game that is where he is right now and under unai eming I continue to expect to see him to Blossom he could potentially be a lot of villa fans right now are feeling proper optimistic and happy of this lab they think he's going to be very soon a England international call up so big call lot of a lot of villa fans right behind this lad very very dangerous pushing up into that front too alongside olle Watkins doing absolute Carnage I am really very concerned about this so you could you talk about I won't ruin one of the future slides but there's some very key interesting matchups and there's one that I expect to come up against uh Rogers and we'll get into that later yeah it's a funny one Rogers um he was bought by B I think for two and a half million and then Villa bought him for 15 after just one season and all the B fans couldn't believe in they're like why are they buying him like he's decent but he's not nowhere near worth that amount of money and then all of a sudden as you say he's been doing great from the off and it's like well Emory clearly saw something that he knew that profile would work and he shows he's got a real eye for a player so very scary of em but definitely one to watch he brings a lot of energy to the Midfield for sure that's what I noticed right how about Leicester how are we going to play this game right this is what's interesting so we're obviously expecting to play a low block we're probably anticipated to not have much possession of the football uh we need to be defensively Resolute our center backs need to be in check we need to be all calling the boys need to be vocal we need to be ready now this is what's most important to me official with ball and transition the SE that we get the ball back and we clear our lines which is also going to be very interesting and segue into my next part after read this point out we need to be able to maintain the ball in transition and counter we've seen a lot of balls go over the top and which I can understand particularly if we're talking about a 28y old VY with a ball over the top from mahrez and the count up with them playing a high line but in my opinion the second that we turn the ball over I don't want to see their balls over the top I want to see us keeping it short on the ground and keeping possession of the four I don't want to be constantly panicking hoofing it forward and then turning the ball straight over and inviting wave after wave of pressure so that ball is precious we need to protect it when we've got it back but at the same time yes utilizing vities a ball over the top from a counter or any Striker for that matter is crucial or our Wingers going far out the pitch and stretching their um fullbacks on the counter so that leads perfectly into my starting 11 and I'll explain why with the ball efficiency so I've gone for nearly starting 11 every single time but I in my opinion rard Pereira again we've just seen why now if we're going to be playing it from a counter or trying to win the ball back up the pitch we need to keep it and in my opinion this starting 11 is the best arm option to do so and I'll explain why Pereira we've seen him play fullback we know he can push up the pitch on the other side just like Christensen can which we know that Cooper favors but he's going to be better with the ball in my opinion we know he can play Under Pressure he's got that experience and he's got that quality W fa uh pretty much expected to start at this point I don't think he's been horrible but he hasn't been at his best Yanik vestard uncharacteristically was not efficient with the ball but we would assume that from everything else we've seen from him our best option from Center back JJ I think he's going to do a much better job on Bailey who I expect him to match up on than Christensen Christensen against the big dogs you know like we didn't he come UND done with trayor different Kettler fish but still JJ in my opinion defensively is a much better option now moving to the this is where it's most important in my opinion double pivot now we've seen skip immediately very similar to Winks much more efficient with the ball and much better in possession like winks and under pressure as well so these two Lads is going to be absolutely crucial if we're going to turn the ball over we want to keep the ball like I just alluded to before and these two guys are your best option to do so in my opinion indeed it should be dropped for this game and I'll explain also you can tell me maybe why he shouldn't be an Neil but in my opinion as our 10 we need to keep buti his Progressive ball carries and dribbling are going to be super important he's quite physical for his size and in my opinion what he can do with the ball is going to be a lot more important than what indeed he can I anticipate you to argue to say indeed he can win the ball further up the pitch but in my opinion we're not going to be needing to be winning it up there because we're not going to have much possession of the football so for that reason I've chosen Bo not as you can see both our Wingers I I could rant you for ages a bit why I don't want to see Cordova Reed the move and the flow of football when we have it breaks down of him and in my opinion both midi and Fu are much better defensively tracking back and have the ability if they will to turn the ball over with one of them in possession they're going to be able to take their man on and pro progress the uh move vardy up front the I go vardy because I's just played a lot of minutes and V's has had a rest and I think it's the best option that we have for you know he's making those runs off through the shoulder against the Defenders he may not have the same Pace but he still has the same football brain and he's very underrated for his his rid of the ball so Anil why don't you talk to me what you think about that and take me for your 11 yeah well I love the arguments you make very sound arguments I think one thing that's great about our Squad now this is what I mentioned at the top of the show is that now we have genuine competition for places we can use different strategies or lineups depending on your position and we've got a lot of strength so you know just looking your 11 and I'm meaning this in a good way is that in this particular 11 we don't have Victor Christensen who's been pretty decent so far this season we don't have indei who in my opinion was Contender for man in a match just midweek we don't have Bobby Reed okay he's not been so good but he's still an option um we don't have Jordan a in this lineup and we don't have the new signing that we've just made below El canuse and we don't have aoli so that's like five or six players who are good players who aren't even in the 11 which allow rotation options and that actually makes me excited because it means that like you know we've got that kind of we've got a few injuries or people are out of form there's no excuses we can bring people into the team um I've definitely gone for the double pivot as well I think that's going to be key not only to this game but all games going forward I think that is the the key area that we've struggled in so far I think the interesting one then is you've obviously kept um bu in um I've been really impressed with him I think so far he has been one of the better players and he could definitely play here or you could even put bow straight and I don't think that's going to happen but I I will expect him to come and play like at least 30 in this game I would imagine again given how much money he's cost um I think he's very good on the ball he tends to keep the move going and there's certainly a strong argument for playing him I walk through my 11 in the moment I I wouldn't be upset if he played and I will say that he played no part whatsoever midweek which maybe suggests that he is going to be playing a part in this game same with vardy um but in general I get get what you mean here and I'm going to talk to you then about my 11 which is a bit similar but a bit different so I have got Christensen back in a team he played no part midweeks I'm expecting him to be restored into the lineup I do think your point about putting someone on Bailey makes a lot of sense but I have a feeling that the way that Cooper is viewing it is that Christensen and Thomas which is terrifying but true are competing for that left back position this season whereas I think Ricardo and JJ are competing on the other side I think that Ricardo may play instead of JJ um he has definitely preferred JJ so far but I would say that I think Justin was definitely at fault for that second goal last week and in my opinion wasn't that great for the first goal either so uncharacteristically didn't have the best display whereas if you look at the stats Ricardo was probably man of a match in midweek um so I mean that makes it hard to drop him in my opinion we'll see if if Cooper's got favorites or not if I'm being honest I think this might be just my sort of pro Ricardo agenda because I think he's our best player um and so Justin might play instead of him but I I would start for that reason just like you have got the double pivot of winks and Skip I think as we've said the way that Villa play they like to congest it centrally that means we're going to need to have people that can pass their way around out of trouble and try and compete in that aspect and yeah you just mentioned it then so I have gone for inded over bonat um there's two reasons so yeah one is the ability to try and Win It high up the pitch because they like to play very centrally and and compact I think having a ball winner in there is important like one thing I'll say about winks and Skip is that they don't necessarily use their sort of like extended spider legs to win the ball they're more about positional and playing around you so I think having a destroyer inner is important and I would say that for example Villa themselves have Onana for a similar reason they want to have one player who's capable of winning the ball back also the other reason why I think he could be useful is that given that Villa like to play the offside trap the ball over the top is an option so actually having a tall player up there in Indi gives mad someone to hit and whilst you wouldn't be expecting indeed to get in behind he could win the ball or flick it on especially into the wide areas to pose a counter threat which I think if we're going to score is the most likely route that we're going to do it just like you reads out of my team but I've gone for Madan instead I mean potentially that could be bonon not there but I think pace is is Ace in this game that's what you want you want players who are fast so that's in fact the reason why I've gone for my front three so I haven't started vardy but I want to use that word key haven't started him so what I'm thinking back to is a few seasons ago was during the co season this is the first and only time we've beaten Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium because we've only done it once in my lifetime and Brendan Rogers pulled it off and it was an interesting game because basically vardy was coming into the match and he wasn't match fit so he could only really play half an hour so for the first 60 minutes we basically didn't have a single attack on goal and we just played this really attritional style of just being dogged and not being beaten and then as soon as he put on vardy with 30 minutes to go all of a sudden the team changed and what ended up happening is Tans played it into under if you remember him cheni un under crossed it and vardy scored and it was like the ultimate Smash and grab and it was a great performance but I think the big difference is because we tied their team out when vardy came on all of a sudden he looked fast where he wouldn't have been fast to begin with and that I think is my issue is I think if we start with vardy we might not necessarily get the best out of him whereas vardy against them with 30 minutes to go I think could be deadly like explosive deadly and really I I'm not necessarily expecting IU to to score but I think just being a hard worker has some Merit in this game um I also think he's quite quick and could pose a threat but I wouldn't have a problem if we do start with vardy I think to be fair I use no spring chicken himself so if if we did it the other way around aardi plays 60 and aou comes on for the last half an hour he could still maybe do be similar although I I don't have as much conviction in aou to keep his call under pressure in a one-on-one that's said first game of the season vardy was one-onone against Vicario wasn't he and probably should have scored and didn't so we go there so I think yeah the key things we're talking about really is that who's going to play in the 10 right is it going to be Indi or is it gonna be bonat midweek we did try and play all three of them together but that was against opposition where we had the ball and could do whatever we wanted to this is going to be a whole different game let's see which one of us are right I suspect we'll both be wrong but I think we'll we'll see things I I do think we'll see that double pivot I think would that surprise you if skip doesn't start this game and it's winks and and Dei instead yeah massively uh what what surprises me more than that is how strongly went that TR me game but that's a whole another conversation but um I I could see all three of them just like yourself featuring for this exact reason you've just demonstrated but we we very well could see skip dropped maybe there's no way Winks gets dropped but I I I expect to see one of our two lineups cool I will say I think the trm game the reason why we've gone so is to build up fluency early on in the season but I don't know if you saw but ipswitch actually got beat by uh MK Don's midweek it was on penalties but that means they've now played three games and won none of them and that is going to start hitting your confidence a little bit whereas you know we've got now more familiarity I would say some of the patterns of play that we produced on Wednesday were or Tuesday sorry were actually pretty encouraging so even if it is poor opposition it's going to make the team feel more confident go okay I know how we're going to play how we generate chances you know I you got a goal it's only going to help you put it in a back of net even madidi got off the mark even if it was a penalty these things are important I think right just want to come on to then the Aston Villa lineups This Is How They started in their last game um you can see OE Watkins Morgan Rogers as you mentioned he was actually the one that was dropping back as a 10 not so much tans in this match it was playing more at the base so it be interesting to see if they maintain that this time round uh Bailey mcin Anana big signing that they made in the summer pal Torres that was a great signing I think is underrated I will say one thing that I think is interesting about Viller is if you look at their team they don't necessarily have too many superstars so again it shows you just how good their coach is um look at their bench though they've got some strong options on there Ian Matson I've mentioned before Ross Barkley they signed again in the summer ferene was really good for ho in the championship last season some interesting signings there maybe in terms of Strikers if Watkins is having an off day what do they do well let's hope he is having an off day because that's maybe an area that they're they're going to be I just want to call out for myself what I think a key battle is going to be so we all know who Yuri Tans is obviously gave us a great memory in the FA Cup Final gave us a not so good memory the season we got relegated but you have to say he's been good for Villa since he's been there and the replacement that we really brought in for Tans was Harry Winks who so far has proved to be a really good player is literally wearing the same shirt number as Yuri if Yuri especially tends to play the sort of more number 10 position for Villa it means that him and Winks might directly be against each other on the field and that will be pretty interesting I think wins has got more energy and can get about the pitch a bit more but Yuri is still capable of putting in those slide past you know balls and really good killer through balls um what I've seen from The Villa fans is that telman is a frustrating one and this is not going to sound too surprising given that we're Leicester fans and that some games he's clearly just the best player on a pitch by Miles and in some games he just looks utterly useless and it's like I wonder where I've heard that before because I think that's something that followed him both at Leicester and Monaco but I'm hoping Harry can and Skip if he plays as well can get the better of Yuri because I will say that if when Yuri's not firing the team that he plays for definitely does a lot worse and we were victims of that ourselves I often used to say that after the first five minutes I could tell if we were going to win or lose and it basically because I looked at telman you like gave the ball away two or three times in the first five minutes game over whereas if if he played one of those beautiful long passes in the first five minutes I'm probably thinking it's an easy win for us so let's see what happens there right score predictions we've got you to go on so spoilers you've gone for 22 so why do you think this is going to be the score I've gone for the Desmond I've actually got asked to equalize in my opinion I reckon V will score again and I've got us predicted for a smash and grab late in the game vard Off the Bench or a Off the Bench um I I don't know why I've gone for this I do but I I just can see us uh conceding a goal early I can see us not having much possession but in my opinion of the players that we've got and of how high of a line that they play I think we can get a result here so King Power I reckon I'll be rocking feeling optimistic what are you feel I'm less optimistic but you can see I've gone for a slight Villa win 2-1 but I would say that obviously I hope that your result is more likely than my result or even that we pick up a win but I don't expect it to be one-sided and I still think that overall I I think we've got a stronger Squad than when we started I'm sure we could have done better but I think we could have done a lot worse also so I think we have now got good competition for places we've got options we've definitely signed players that will put in a shift will work hard will press from the front cause teams problems and with skip now bu and bow El canuse you've got players as well who are good on the ball and can play their way out of traffic which is important I think with this game maybe it's come a bit too soon I do want to see I think the biggest problem so far for us in the league is that we're just still getting we're giving too much of the initiative to other teams even when we're at home that's my problem okay it's all well and good saying like we expect other team to have more possession but why right you know we are playing against good teams but now we've got good technical players ourselves and then for example in the last match that Southampton played they lost to Forest and Forest had a ton of shots on target but Southampton did have more possession they had more possession against Newcastle as well though Newcastle had the man less so I feel like you know when are we going to be able to start to control games I think away from home I wouldn't expect it but at home it is something that I want to see however I think this game is a bit too soon and I think I'm just given respect to Emory like I saw them a lot over the last six months just casually watching them on on Sky Sports on a Sunday and every time I saw them play I just think it's extremely impressive just how well coached they are I think that's one of the big difference is that in the championship forget even the players you can see that the managers there aren't so many like really top managers you know Carlos corbran was a good manager maybe Danny R from Sheffield Wednesday's a good manager but for every one of those you'd have like the Preston North End manager and Ryan low at the time or you know people like that who just I think are like quite dated in terms of football um to this time around you know we saw even with Fulham how well coached they were it wasn't necessarily individual Brilliance but they were able to keep the ball generate chances and that's from being fluent from playing with one another for a long time and having well drilled instructions so unfortunately I think as a result of that look this is a team that finished fourth last season they're going to get caught I think by playing so many games in the Champions League but the Champions League hasn't started yet yes they've done the groups but they haven't played a single game for example if we' have played Villa a month from now I would give us a much bigger chance as weird as that sound but right now they've not really had to rotate their squad they're probably going to be their first team and on paper they've got stronger team than us unfortunately for me I've gone for a narrow Villa win but I think we'll be in it um and what I would like to just see is that a better display than we played against Fulham I don't think we were awful against Fulham but our XG in that game was like 0.5 and the goal that we scored came off a corner it never really looked like we were going to score from open play so I want to see us at least make some more opportunities look like we're causing them a threat even if ultimately they have more individual quality than us so I think with that that wraps up our match preview any sort of closing thoughts you think on this game yep hopefully we can see balow come off the bench if his work permits come through yeah I think he will play a part I think Jordan Au signed on Friday last week and still played the the day after so I think the reason why the announcement took a long time is they were just being careful to make sure everything was done it was done on a Thursday I have a feeling we may even sign another player today on loan I'm not sure if that player will get into the squad or not but we'll see that and we'll discuss that next week but always thank you for your time Luke thanks for joining me this has been for Fox sake that's been our match preview and we'll catch you after tomorrow's game for the instant match reaction thank you and goodbye
