Trade and switch: Apple wants to recycle my iPhone 15 Pro Max for $0

uh have you ever tried to trade in your old iPhone for a new model uh only to be surprised by the value they offered you I recently found myself a similar situation with my iPhone 15 Pro Max and it left me scratching my head as a tech analyst with years of experience I thought I knew the drill when it came to trading in my old iPhone for a new one however this year's iPhone 16 tradein process was unlike any other Apple product I had encountered this Apple product is the as I prepared to pre-order the latest iPhone 16 I navigated through the Apple Store app to initiate the tradein procedure I assumed my 256 dative iPhone 15 Pro Max they would fetch around $650 based on previous year's experience however as I answered Apple's straightforward questions about my phone's condition I realized that my expectations were Far From Reality the issue at hand was the shattered back panel of my iPhone which occurred after an accidental drop a few months prior although the front glass remained unscathed I had fixed it even with Apple Care coverage I thought that during the tradein process Apple would charge me the $29 repair fee for the back panel um to my surprise I discovered that if you answer no to the question about the condition of your iPhone's body during the trading process Apple won't accept it and the trade in value will be zero however they were willing to recycle it for free uh to receive a trade in discount from Apple make sure to confirm that both the buttons function properly and the device is in excellent condition when answering their questions about button functionality and overall body condition if you answer no to either question Apple will not offer any trade in discount um realizing my mistake I quickly made an appointment at my local Apple store to fix the back panel so I could trade it in for the full $650 uh I recommend you do the same check your iPhone 15's condition before trading it in uh if there are any cracks on either the screen or the back uh get it fixed uh before trading it INE if you have Apple Care Plus uh the cost to fix the the front or back PL is only $29 uh with the coverage and 199 without which is still uh better than uh handing it over to Apple for free so um so with that said thanks for watching and until next time and remember always double check your iPhone's condition before trading it in for a new model but
