all I ask is that you provide a legitimate living for this family this one here is the one that can put me on top and I feel it for us I'm thinking black Vegas gambling the women you still need to reach out to the Council of all the top black bosses Across the Nation who's this chicken man Chicken Man chicken wi you don't speak chicken get down Atlanta has pushed all her chips in this will turn our little city into a major one we are a vibrant inclusive City that's open for business this is more money than we all pulled in in a year he was here for the money I don't think he boys got any goddamn idea who you stealing [Music] from hey everybody it's PGM my life and we're reviewing Fight Night and the Lord of the Rings episodes so first up say hey to the people fellas Pat say hey he everybody greetings and salutations ready to talk about some fun stuff and David Aloha how are are you great to be with you guys all right and our buddy electric melanin is visiting us hey electric melanin hope you're doing good uh okay let's start off with Fight Night David what you thinking oh man I you know this is a an event that I didn't realize the historical connotations uh this was fun out of nowhere great cast I love seeing Don shetel uh Samuel Jackson a lot of action figures in this movie and for me it did not disappoint and it also gave me I've been to Atlanta it can be a kind of a tough City and this even though it was you know almost 50 years ago 54 years ago wow uh it shows it shows uh the uh the toughness in the city had a lot of fun with this uh High marks I really enjoyed it Patrick what' you think okay this to me had the feeling as if guy Richie and Quinton Tarantino got together and had a kid because man I'm telling you what the the the heist heess of it you know and the the kind of quick action and then the man just the the the atmosphere that they they came up with man this felt like all the all the movies like shaft and and all and and and Tarantino's movies that he did of those periods and stuff I mean it's just and and you get you get man talk and again like Dave touched on you know the cast I mean everybody was perfectly cast the episodes I've seen because it's not all the way through yet um but wow this was really good I was I was pleasant well I wasn't surprised I mean it LO with that kind of cast and just the previews and they really hit it and the previews did not lie to you because sometimes you'll just show the very best of everything this one had a real good feel for the way you know the man this the the costumes on point the way people talked everybody smoking in bars I mean just everything was hit hitting hitting that 70s feel and it was delightful loved it yeah yeah I really love this and if you also like a historical note I think when the um the governor told Muhammad Ali don't come back ever he did come back triumphantly in the Olympics and lit the torch in Atlanta I think it was Atlanta it was that's a very good memory that to me was a beautiful memory um to realize how much we as young people we youngish maybe not so youngish but youngish we don't remember a lot of people don't remember we remember Muhammad Ali as a champion and doing fantastic but we a lot of this part of his history of having to literally struggle to just do his career and how reviled he was in America for choosing to be a conscientious objector to the war um they it's not a lot told about that history and so this is important to remember the fight that he had to end just to exist you know and people wanting to kill him all the time so um so he had a lot to be you know bragged about because he was that good but the struggle that he had to go through is also important that people understand and we don't forget either um about what he did for all of us for freedom but the um I mean this is probably the the time period where black people were the coolest I just love groovy baby this how people talked and how people looked and how people walked even and just the whole essence of this era is just so super cool and how this is a will Packer production and so everything is going to look right and people are going to uh be the right type of people people in it so yeah it is a and the story just really flowed well too um which I was really happy about is I I was G to watch it anyway but I was like please please please let it be a good let it just be a good fun movie and I know Patrick you didn't mention it the soundtrack is off the train oh yeah you know when they come off the plane and pce the cost to be the boss by James Brown oh that was just like perfect and um the other music and I can't wait to see what's up in store for the next episodes I think it's six episodes all together eight uh it's eight okay so hopefully they will do one weekly I don't want them to keep doing these big dumps of episodes I W to I want to come each week with my popcorn and watch it I haven't been this excited since Continental was that last year I think of the Continental yeah um series from peacock peacock is is crushing it this year this one those about to die that was super great so I'mma keep watching their original series because they are on point so definitely I think it's I don't know if it's so much for kids because it is adult matter yeah I wouldn't say it's for kids I will say this just as as you were talking about ali and his impact on a societal aspect you know you know he and I are born in the same city so I mean we're both native Sons so his his history is certainly I heard about it a lot as a kid some good some bad criticisms but I got to tell everyone who's watching this when you know we've heard the rhyming and we've seen and we also have seen the the later videos where you know the hits to the head he was not the same kind of guy I listened to an interview he did prior to the big Sunny Liston fight so he's a very young man and I listened to this guy very confident the intelligence and how he spoke yeah was very different than what you see is just saying I'm a bad man and those are all great and funny in his little moments with with uh Howard coell but when you listen to his to actually how what what he said and how he conducted himself before he won yeah still confident but the intelligence before his mind had taken a beating those hits to the Head it was really incredible as how he conversed with people on the radio call-in shows back in Louisville in that in the you know the that just weeks before the Sunny Liston fight it was an amazing thing to listen to him the youth in his voice the confidence but his ability to command why he was better in his mind than Rocky Marciano and other Fighters and it was it was a diff he was a different kind of cat and I I think that we we miss that as we just see again his rhyming and and and some of the things we saw later in life with guest our appearances he was a really extraordinary Man without a doubt and the fight in the Supreme Court that he had to um you know go back and look at some of the historical records of of that and I I remember a friend saying well why do you like him he's just a draft Dodger and and it shocked me because I was like this is an educated person too and I was like what what are you what are you talking about don't you understand so once I explained it that this is what he did which was help preserve religious freedom as well as the state can't come in and literally try to destroy you for your beliefs um that that's a legacy that he has and so he was masterful in the sense of using those comedic kind of things to disarm people so then he could also talk about the real important things that he talked about so yeah he was a brilliant brilliant beautiful man who um through the the vagaries of of the sport you know unfortunately and it happened early on they believe his um injury to his brain um we in later years um but he was still very um able to communicate I have a friend who is uh she passed away but she was on his team so she had pictures of him and she would tell us stories about him as a young man and a fighter and what he did so it's even his legacy is even more incredible and I know someone who is one degree away from Don Cheeto who's family friends with Don Cheeto so I'm like is that one degree away or am I two degrees away so D Cheeto if you ever want to come on the show I know you know somebody and you can come on the show and talk to us about your great career okay so definitely watch Fight Night each week and we'll probably catch up with the end to see how it all turns out because now I'm curious what did happen so we'll find out next we have o the episode Lord of the Rings episode four the Elder let's take a look since the wearing of this ring I have perceived glimpses of the Unseen World Sauron maybe in a region there is evil in those Hills ancient and filled with malice you're not the first first eastar who's eaten Honey by my fire years ago there was another the dark wizard now he controls much of run but still youngers for more is it my task to stop the fire is it my task to face [Music] Sauron these are Elvin LS go back to the Shadow All right we have our resident token expert Pat tell us what you think of this episode I think it might be the eldest the um the eldest which the episode this week that's kind of what I'm first going to start out with you know okay they called it the El now who are they referring to there's two people that there's two entities that could be the eldest that they're speaking to because first off you have Tom Bombadil AKA iron Ben Adar who was the uh who the elves called the eldest and Gandalf knew in the books so now we can see how he knew Tom Bombadil who he called a a a mosa and he was a stone doomed to be rolling and now his rolling days are over he was going to go talk to him at the end of The Return of the King good good hint uh then you have some ants you have an ant and then even more impressive was the ant wife who they if you remember tree Beard's conversation with Maran pipp and if you've just seen the movies have read the books about the N wives had been lost and they didn't know where they went they didn't say they died they said they had been lost like they went off to go farm lands and they were the ones who kind of basically taught um crop crop you know uh cultivation and things to man and apparently also Elves and the other ones and so they want off to go do that and the Ants wanted to go into the Deep Woods and the Ant wives want to go do that but then they couldn't remember where they left them at so they were lost but but it was interesting to see an ant wife you know they were out doing stuff we were doing stuff we were going to meet up later it just didn't work out um that was interesting seeing gadriel use the ring to heal an elf who' been shot yeah sure there there's there's there's indications of that throughout the books about like elron using the ring to help bring froto back after the after the attack at the Fords from The Ring race I mean there's a lot of stuff and I'm digging it there there're in areas where I feel there's not any real thing that I can point out that just so wrong but and then but I did that that clip you were showing about how there was another wizard that came to him and he was a dark Wizard and I I I felt like they were trying to imply a Sauron who was not a wizard he was one of the my which is what was it uh that other one that's in that room that sent the race off to the harfoot so yeah here we go with stuff that's completely out of I mean technically I guess it could I mean technically it could be because there's seven isari which are the Wizards and you only know three of them through the Lord of the Rings and there's four more that you don't hear about which could have been dark one of them could have been dark one of them could have been great you know they could have just went off and you know decided to go north and hang out with the polar bears for or whatever they have in Middle Earth at that particular point you know who knows you know yeah um I'm liking it again I'm still I still have problems with the character of gadriel this badass Warrior um well we only met her as a grandma in the movies but but throughout throughout the book she was always just kind of a a noble who didn't do the fighting on the field she was the one who was Master sexism of the times too maybe it's it's in the book I I don't tell you the book is the book and the book the book is the book okay but so I have a problem with that a little bit but you know I mean it's good enough and I do I do appreciate very much the actor they got to uh Play The Stranger Gandalf his voice is getting very ellish and I mean he's he's kind of got I mean he's really hitting hitting those those vocal tones and stuff that make make you see if you if you weren't picking up that that's Gandalf by this point man you just got to listen to that and go watch and you're like oh oh hell that's that's gandal yeah really no kidding and you know there's a lot of little weird stories that are going on which I'm interested to see how they go you know uh we'll I mean this this is all stuff that's totally outside of the books so I'm enjoying it for the most part like I said I my my outrage has been very minimal so that's that's high marks High marks well let's go to somebody who's maybe not so miss no David well I tell you what I don't know if it was my black tea I don't know if it was my uh rhubarb Selzer tea but I gotta tell you I really got into it this time I really enjoyed it uh so I was like okay I'm in this I don't fully get it all but I'm just going to go with a ride but hey everybody here's a here's a not if you want to see us get upset break Canon with Lord of the Rings with Pat break cannon with Star Trek with Pam and break cannon with Star Wars for me and you will see one IR rate uh try host here on the show uh not having the same love for the show man I was really into it I love seeing the trees that that mud monster was freaky I loved that yeah I was like that was right out of that King Kong you know depth of you know when they were all in there in the in the remake there the halflings I I really found I enjoyed their interactions and the you know the villains with the with the skull Mass I'm I'm actually all in I've have got my my commemorative ring of ring of power for this episode which was the ring I got from the Beetlejuice Alamo uh premere party last night with a little accessory that boy that looks really totally inappro I'm gonna put that down put that down so oh my goodness well I I don't know about this okay let me get out one more thing okay if they smack another black woman again I'm done with this [ __ ] H stop hitting black women on the show that's a [ __ ] I don't like that now it's like a backlash against us I don't like that I don't like that so they got one more again and then I'm out because I'm not gonna keep watching them beat up black women on this show um so I I like the episode I thought the first set of episodes were more visually kind of interesting um I thought this one but Paton maybe this were their story the stores people were those in the books are those like the progenitors of the harfoot well it it does talk about in one of the penden say about how the um Hobbits came from the sters which were like smaller people that lived in the the the like in the tidal bog lands and stuff and they were just and then they moved up into the The Hobbit holes which you know means Comfort um so I mean it was yeah it it that is totally okay that's Canon okay so I thought that was interesting that the Haro foots are like got lost and never found their way and so I thought that was a really interesting moment I also like the um uh gadriel fight sings I I was like Wow but you know elron is so interesting having watched the movie and and I'm not I haven't read the books so you know I don't know all the things wait wait wait I should you you haven't read the books I haven't read the books and um the but to see uh this Elrod as opposed to the king elod and the and the young gadriel as opposed to the grandma it's like oh my gosh how would you have acted in your teenage years versus when you're in your they're both you know what I mean so that's that's kind of funny to me to see them but I I'm getting there's so many storylines that you know each week you're trying to pick up the different storylines and and I don't know if they're always weaving them together great um but taking each one as it is it's it's a lot of fun so I'm hoping that they kind of merge them together better um but so far it's really interesting so definitely keep watch but there are some scary scenes like David said that mud monster thing that was kind of scary gross but then I thought funny part was when Ed Adil Arundel the the elf when he was talking to the tree and he was kind of stroking her and she kind of calm down I was like yeah girl as fine as he is I calm down too he's a handsome l so he was sweet talking the tree U but I thought that was kind of funny but I thought overall it was a a good episode episode and a lot of fun so definitely but there are some scary stuff maybe for children probably it's a little bit more intense for them um but you know older kids and adults will enjoy it so definitely check out the Lord of the Rings the rings of power and we'll be back next week to talk about next week's episode as well next week we will review the movie coming back again Beetle Juice Beetle Juice I won't say it again because I don't want him to show up in my house but we'll take a look at that and we'll also um talk about why Tim Burton doesn't have any black people in any of his movies I I I'm curious about that as well as um we might review Civil War but we're still discussing that one but we will have some fun definitely on our reviews uh Pat say good night to the people good night everybody um make sure you don't cut any trees in the wrong Forest you know that's right watch what you use out there in these Hills and Forest and bogs and valleys David say good night to the people so long Everybody Take Care we'll see you next week and we're gonna have a lot more fun talking about these shows and tomorrow is one of the greatest days of the year Happy Star Trek Day come back tomorrow and may have a cute video for us and we'll see you m and live long and prosper next time on pjama life take care bye [Music]
