thank you so much for all the incredible support on my YouTube channel I love seeing your comments and interactions on all the different swimming videos so I've compiled a whole bunch of new content which I'm so excited to share with you and this is really going to help you with the technique so making sure that you swim with a lot more efficiency a lot more ease and it's really going to help you in the water [Music] hey guys I'm so excited we're going to go through all four strokes butterfly backstroke breast stroke and freestyle and all the skills starts turns finishes underwater Dives you name it we're going to go through it what I really want you to keep in mind is that everybody has different physical strengths and weaknesses so whilst I'm describing some technique based work that may not come as naturally to you or you may naturally be stronger at dominant things or arm dominant things and that's okay it doesn't have to be absolutely perfect this is more like a guide to help you really refine your strokes and swim with more ease anytime you're going to change your Technique in something it's going to feel like you're going to take seven steps backwards in order to go 10 steps forwards changing your Technique is really challenging and honestly can be so frustrating sometimes when I Was preparing for the Olympics I knew that breast stroke was my biggest weakness as a stroke and so I spent a lot of time with some of the breast stroke specialists in our Squad and I had to try and change my technique to be more efficient and more effective but it was so frustrating I felt like I was trying so hard and really focusing on my technique but my times were slower because I hadn't mastered this new skill yet and so it did take me maybe a month or two of consciously thinking about it refining my technique and then getting stronger at it and then it became automatic pilot once I worked through that initial frustration and tension of changing technique it really did benefit me but through that Journey it was incredibly frustrating so don't get down on yourself when you do try these different techniques and it doesn't feel good right away whenever you make a change it's not going to feel good right away until you've really practiced it and practiced it and you've got to stay consistent now it's really important to keep in mind that you may be a freestyle Specialist or a backstroke specialist and you may not care too much about the breaststroke videos that's totally fine I still think you should watch them because it's really important to actually do all the strokes and doing all four strokes is really going to help you with injury prevention because swimming is actually one of the only sports that uses every single muscle in your body and in order to get that benefit we have to do all four strokes also if you're struggling with like what do I do when I go to the pool staff like how many laps should I swim I don't know what Strokes to do or what speed to do I have created an 8we training program so I've left the link in the description box make sure you check that out I think it's really going to help you just give some structure to your training it's three sessions a week you're going to notice a big Improvement in your speed and your times doing this program is going to be such a great compliment to all of these great technique learnings that you're going to be putting into place you're going to see the benefits and reap the rewards [Music]
