[Applause] [Music] second United the welcome back to met the groundhopper channel in what is a brand new season the 2425 season and this being the first day um find myself just the east side of Birmingham in Tamworth for what is the 2425 season and if you of a certain age like me you would have remembered the turn of the Millennium the millennium bug the Millennium Dome and Euro 2000 that was 25 years ago a quarter of a century and that's gone just like that incredible how time flies when you're having fun thankfully I hav't aged a day since that turn of the Millennium but today I'm in Tamworth and I am going to be watching a newly promoted Tamworth playe newly relegated sat United at the lamb ground um so this is a new ground for me completely they do make the list cuz they're now in the National League so this will be ground 59 of my 160 so we're edging close from closer to that magical number of completing all the grounds but I mean here now just a canal in torth it's um I'm only a few minutes away from the ground but it's all very nice and you know a lot of towns have had a lot of negative press over the last couple weeks I've think Tam for one of them and so I'm just trying to show the more positive side of these places do my bit for sort of British tourism so get yourself down to Tamworth this is what you're coming across Riverside walks uh a very pleasant surprise so I'm going to venture up to the ground want to get in early already got my ticket and I'm hoping this first game of the season is going to be a cracker [Music] w [Music] you know what these games always fascinate me when you got a team that's just been promoted against a team that's just been relegated hence why I picked it today so got Tam just been promoted out of the National League north um if you don't know non- League football the national league North and South um comprises of 48 teams and the non- league pyramid is pretty brutal because out of them 48 teams only four teams get promoted the two winners and two playoff winners so Tam I've done very well to get up I I would have put my money on for walking at division last season which they didn't do and they lost in the playoffs I think to Boston in the end so Tam deserve their place to be in the National League again and they're playing a SAT United Team who dropped out The League last season this is going to be a wake up call for them because they've been playing huge clubs last season like Bradford rexam and obviously the biggest of Gillingham now to find themselves away at tanworth so they had to get their eight the Z out to find out how to get here um interesting to see how they adapted this division cuz it's national league is League to get out of you drop out of the football league and they're not the biggest Club even in this division so just outside now you can see this is the main car park I'm have a wander in must have a Terrace ticket today so I think you can walk behind the goal and along the length of the pitch but there's a few people sort of entering the ground now addicted to be a big crowd first game back this level for a couple years or a few years so there we go the lamb [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] what AM might I the lamb ground capacity just under 5,000 um got sort of main stand opposite me there uh there's pretty much Terrace Way Around you got a very large terce behind the home end and sort of a smaller Terrace for the way but yeah some you can imagine when it's packed out 5,000 you can imagine this being a decent atmosphere because the terrorism behind the goal is actually quite big and this this length this pitch is like corrugated rout I'm sure it whack better and um when they score but there we go that's there but um seems just War up now for you jilling fans by the way fellow Jes fans Ashley nerson is here he's on a season long season link alone with suton United I just sending warming up so he might get a run out for the team so interested be scores he scor much for JS last season but yeah ashon s United look out for him [Music] you know what it's absolutely roasted here it's about 25 de and people walk around wearing coats and body warmers and hoodies just don't get it must be abely Bing but um back to the game back 20 minutes in still nil nil um I'm quite surprised actually how many United fans are there because they're not well supported club and there got to be a couple under at least in the way so that's quite impressive so as expects literally a handful noisy tamamo fans to the right of me and that of corated stand which is what I was predicting but still m n I say Tam better of the two sides but [Applause] [Music] you know that's the best chance of the game so far it's it's not been many chances the whole half it's a bit nip and Tuck and both teams defending very well I'm B worri it's going to end up being nil nil which bit of a disaster for the first game of the season the channel but um yeah only got CES for halim still nil nil and um not a lot of report really think squ is going to be plenty goals in the second half [Applause] don't first half time nil nil been many shots until taret one um On Target so been bit B really hopefully he's going to be um short second half cuz the fans may be loing up a little bit but it's um it's pretty hot standing here I don't it's worse standing in the Heat or the cold weather watching the game I don't know but it's it's pretty uncomfortable um yeah seems to be coming out shortly for the second half but just before that we got time for one feature that's back by pop demand and that is COC m [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] that's B so that's the best chance I've had so far um 10 minutes into second half and it's a corner but just just aching for a goal please don't let it there a nil nil I can't end up I need cheering up the crowd need cheering up it's a bit flat the moment but corner to Tam now fingers crossed to get at least one [Music] goal so just announc the tenants up just over 1,600 which I thought would have been more than that first down back at this level um interesting to see what crowds they get throughout the season cuz S I said they B quite a few fans actually it's quite a long journey for them um my last time was here in in in the Midlands back in April um oh I got a it's oh time scored as I was saying last time I was here in the Midland when I was kid when I was K Agra back in April they got relegated such a shame because um know T kid St quite a LOC Derby and they s flip off each other in the Leakes just kid just the other side of bming but a good going to watch but still nil nil um slly up second half but still PR for that first go [Applause] [Applause] on the 85th minute repacing [Applause] that's time scored right to the end about 2 minutes left I think you start from the mistake by the goalkeeper goalkeeper kicked it out very very leisurely and they picked up on it and they scored so there we go fans are happy it's one to 10 [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] second United up game of equal their two goals literally right at the end of the game um ni quite Fair one I'm just glad his goals because no team Shan a many chances very get one on that silence the crow completely and it's literally an injury time out and he probably finish that way 111 there we go first game of the season Di and it's finished 1-1 thankfully it was a couple of goals because you had a n n written all over it and um two goals flew in right at the end and to be fair something could have nicked it right at the end literally last kick of the game I definitely finished the stronger but I think one was fair it was a bit of an nonevent for 80 minutes and it was it's very hot I it's very hot for the fans obviously even hotter for the players um but overall it's um as I say a fair result hard to sort of predicts how good the teams are on the first game of the season you're going tell cuz is no previous form and you know it was both teams are very very cautious today going forward uh so i' be interested in see these clubs going forward for the rest of the season thank you for staying to the end if you are
