SPOKESPERSON FOR THE WORKERS UNION SAYS BOTH SIDES WILL REMAIN FAR APART. TELLING CBS NEWS, WE ARE DISAPPOINTED THAT THEY WERE CHOSEN TO STRIKE WHILE THEY REMAIN WILLING TO NEGOTIATE. THEY TOLD US IT IS COMMITTED TO NEGOTIATING IN GOOD FAITH TO REACH A FAIR AND REASONABLE AGREEMENTS. AND MARRIOTT DID NOT IMMEDIATELY RESPOND TO OUR REQUEST FOR COMMENT. WE STILL STAND BY FOR THAT. OUR CONTRACT ACTUALLY ENDED ON JUNE 30, SO WE HAVE BEEN WORKING WITHOUT A CONTRACT FOR ABOUT JUST OVER TWO MONTHS NOW. EVERY TIME WHEN WE WOULD MEET THEM AT THE TABLE, WE'RE EXPECTING THEM TO TRY TO MEET US HALFWAY OR TO COME THROUGH SOME KIND OF AN AGREEMENT TO MOVE ONE WAY OR ANOTHER AND YET THEY KEEP PUSHING US U OFF AND SAYING NO TO ANYTHING THAT WE ARE ASKING FOR. BUT WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR ANYTHING THAT WE BELIEVE THAT THEY CANNOT HANDLE. WE ARE JUST ASKING THAT WE ARE VALUED FOR WHAT WE DESERVE AND TO MAKE SURE THEY COULD COMPENSATE US CORRECTLY. WHAT IS THE MESSAGE YOU WANT TO GET ACROSS TO THESE QUITE POWERFUL AND PROFITABLE COMPANIES WHO ARE REAPING RECORD PROFITS THESE DAYS? >> YES, AS WE HAVE ALL KNOWN THESE COMPANIES, THEY MAKE RECORD NUMBERS AND REVENUE FOR THE PAST YEAR, EVER SINCE WE HAVE BEEN COMING BACK TO THE PANDEMIC AND DUE TO WHAT THEY WERE OFFERING.
