uh you can you talk a little bit about how practice has been going so far you know you had your first scrimmage what what have you been taking away so far um you know when it comes to practice they've been really competitive and you know as coach B OB says you know he want us to get better and better each and every day and like defense been bringing it we've been bringing it and we just been getting each other better each and every day and I love the intensity and with the the way we going and keep going upwards and getting better and better each day we're going to be ready for September 2nd a new program for you um talk about how just to that um you know it's been a it's been a long seven six months whatever you want to call it but you know with half Le situation him coming in but one thing that I do like about this uh this coaching staff is the comfortability you know coach OB came spoke to all of us you know make sure that we was comfortable especially with the transfers and you know newcomers and all that but make sure we're comfortable um when it comes to the offense you know Pro style you know trying to get us ready for the next level so it's a lot that uh they're trying to get us better with our future when it comes to professional football and for the season so saon Huggins watching him out there he's an energetic coach can you've had a few running back coaches at Florida State and Kansas State what have you learned from saon and what has he kind of brought to your game uh even when you're not feeling it man you just got to come out there you know with the best mindset to get better um you know it's about like we had six days in you know just straight P practice practice practice and like when it get to that sixth day a lot of people let their mental uh get the best of them but one thing he instill us is that you know no matter how you feel you got to keep going and getting better and whatnot so he has a lot of passion for the game too like when it comes to coaching you know make sure that he meeting with us uh the young guys make sure we teaching the young guys as well so we all on the same Pace but he has a lot of passion for what he does and that's what I love about him talking about mental a lot of mistakes in football are mental mistakes how do you look at those mental mistakes and then go back and correct them well one thing you got to do when we're on the field when you do have a mental mistake uh you just got to go to the next place in that moment you know you can't let it overload and snowball into other mistakes which it can be a a depl when it comes to you know practice and whatnot but when it comes to the film room you know you go back and you talk with the coach talk with the players you know get on the same page even talk with the quarterbacks as well you know make sure we on the chemistry so if he sees this and I do that and whatnot so you just got to really uh not let it snowball when it comes to on the field and then when it comes to off the field you got to correct it and get with your coaches or you know the quarterback to get it right but halfway through practice now how are you dealing with the grind it's where you know you're getting more and more practices in how are you taking care of yourself how you doing things like yeah man you know it's my six years so I've been doing this for a little minute so U one thing that I didn't do when I was a freshman or you know when I was younger but now I'm doing now is taking care of my body you know um with me being a running back you know I get hit a lot you know it's a lot of pounding on us so got to get in that whole that cold tub you know normat Tex and get all that but when it comes to that too you know you got to make sure that you got to also take care of you know the guy which you know our coach does as well making sure that nobody get overload of reps and whatnot make sure we getting subbed in and subbed out but you know you just got to really find a routine for yourself you know when it comes to stretching you got to stretch at home so you don't be uh tight when it get up for the uh practice as well and then getting hot tub and before and after so just really taking care of my body with rehabing in the tubs and you know normat teching like that talk about that I was asking coach about your mental I me your competitive toughness where does that come from from and how important is that to you in the games uh I feel like it came from when I was a uh when I was a walk home starting off uh you know being over looked and you know when it was a when I was in high school I was I wouldn't say I was highly recruited but I was recruited you know three star had some offers and whatnot and was committed and then when I got to the next level you know not being able to be that same guy where I was in my county and then going up to seeing everybody was just as good as me kind of you know brought me that grip and uh when it comes to spring camp uh working out with the fellas you know building that chemistry it just only builds your mental toughness and whatnot and days like this you know 6 days in uh this is a perfect example of how you have to keep pushing through and you know with the coaches is uh pushing the envelope is getting better and um just being mentally tough cuz you GNA have to do this for 12 weeks when it comes to the season so when you're stand when you're standing next to a guy like Tommy C how you feeling man what you don't you don't know what can happen when it comes to him man like you can be going one way and then reverse field throw a 70 yard bomb the other way so it's just like what I got to put in my mind is that the play is not always over so you got to make sure that you know got to extend the play when a guy like him you know with his ability to run and throw as a quarterback you got to make sure that you got to be in chemistry with him and um making sure like the play stays alive so thank you thank you
