full more baseballs into the dog days of the the summer um WNBA and Caitlyn Clark are tearing it up um what else we got uh Sue football well that's part of that college football scene umu tonight yeah what oh the EG school is playing tonight um I forget who they we'll we'll I'll I'll get to that but so um well there's myself uh we're missing the delightful Raven tonight I don't know what she's got going on we have the legend Bill Deutsch back in the house back here he was in Minneapolis what up bill bill bill I think he was gambling is what he was doing down the cities and there you go I practiced yeah he was he was he was like Mr pull tabs himself we got Victor over here how's it going yeah Dale's back in the house oh yeah here every once in a while you know try to make it here when I can I know I won't be able to make it the next couple of weeks too it's it's been a crazy year racing schedule's kicking my butt this year but always glad to sit in when I can well the racing schedule's starting to roll down to the toward the end few week few weeks left just under a month left yeah cuz you're doing the Devil's Lake Speedway on Saturdays yep Saturdays and then you do Thursday go-kart Wednesday go-karts we we just had our last regular Wednesday night uh uh a couple weeks ago we have one more night left that'll be a special Saturday show in mid-september uh this weekend in Devil's Lake we got a special double header Saturday and Sunday show so that's going to be a huge weekend and yeah then after that two weeks later will be that season finale another double header so it's winding down and I think River City Speedway I fill in their track side every once in a while on Friday nights maybe like once or twice a month they're they're winding down too so so are you like a racing Guru I'm getting H way way more it was last year so so so between auto racing and wrestling which which which is it which which is the which was tough oh gosh you know yeah a year ago the the balances were way off in the other direction uh but now they're way more closer this year way more closer wrestling and and car racing yeah wrestling car racing I still I still keep up with some I did a great big uh since go-karts are off uh now on Wednesday nights so I was able to do a good big Sports cram session for the first time in a while here so it was really good catching up on a lot of stuff there I know you got a lot of big topics this week Monty below zero wrestling in below zero wrestling in lore when's that coming up it's coming up in a couple weeks oh gosh I got to get the date for that free admitted ad admission we we went there last year laramore that was a fun show just like kind of right out right outside the uh downtown area there but they said no this one's going to be there's that grocery store that's on the other end of town is that Miller's yeah yeah it's supposed to be in there oh actually inside the grocery store well not inside oh that would be so cool check out we got you know to quote the awesome some mayonnaise at somebody no no no don't be throwing mayonnaise that's $8 a jar these days I see keep in the chat he could probably vouch for this there's an iconic WWE sketch where Stone Cold and Booker T during their rivalry they Booker T was got tired of Stone Cold beating him up every week so he hit out in a grocery store Stone Cold tracked him down and they just created havoc in that grocery store and eventually they got to the cash register Stone Cold scanned Booker T and said on the intercom we need a price check on jackass so over the place and we should have Buffalo roasts there'll probably be a bunch of baby bison going around Buffalo Bill and and what else is there there's you know Buffalo New York I don't know what else we got Buffalo New York oh well the buis are going to be coming home with like 700 bucks in their pocket and they're actually airing the game nationally on ESPN whoa whoa whoa what in a half hour they start up that's what they get for going there that's it they oh 700 yeah that's a pretty good payday oh what 700,000 yeah oh well okay I get that um so so they're going down there to get their butts slapped around by Dion Sanders uh Colorado they're a FBS team right FBS team and um they have what the star for that team uh plays both positions like he's a defensive back wide receiver do you know who we're talking about well you got the quarter the coach son is the quarterback right right and then I think this guy's name is Trey Troy or or something Hawkins and you know he plays both offense and defense yes and and and they they talk about him um um having to work too much of a workload but uh and then he is coming off like a lacerated lung or something from last season I guess I didn't hear that at least from what I heard yeah there's an injury he had that that he missed a lot last season Travis Hunter yeah that's that's the guy Travis Hunter shadur Sanders quarterback yeah some old school Iron Man football from Marina Football I always thought that was crazy how they played Iron Man football in Arena Football for like what 20ish years or so except for the quarterback and yeah I don't know how they did it well I don't know when what Bill when's the last time you heard of a NFL player playing both sides of the ball Mike Rael maybe for the Patriots uh I don't know was he a tight end they he occasionally sub would sub in as a tight end yeah uh he would be on a he was on their defense cuz I was on an old fantasy league where he could actually pick defensive players so I'd always pick him because maybe a few times a year they would sub Patriots would sub him in for a tight end and he'd usually get one or two touchdown catches a season and and then I I guess but not like regular all game long or anything the only other one I that comes to mind to me was um William the fridge Perry was a defensive lineman and then they would put him in the back field to run the ball yeah well actually or else sometimes you know at the end of the game if they're going to throw a Hail Mary they'll throw in some of the wide receivers and stuff too or defensive backs well yeah yeah oh I see on on the defensive side they put wide receivers against wide receivers right yeah well I get that um do you guys got a pick for who you think's actually going to win it because was it Colorado they they started off strong last year what three wins in a row and then they really flamed out yeah they the point spread is I've seen anywhere from about 7.5 to about 10 I was just going to try and look up the point spread here well I I I do feel like that Colorado and Dion will start out strong again I mean I don't I I think he's enough of of a football icon that he's not going to let the Bison come down there and embarrass him well the Bison didn't really have a real good year last year either well they got their butts kicked by the University of North Dakota didn't they for the first time in a decade I think they lostak State at least two times last year if I remember right that was kind of like your guys' uh picks for like one of the best in Arena moments of the year uh seeing yeah the UND upset the Bison well they were close like a couple years in a row there and and to finally get over the hump and get them and get them big I mean they did put a smash on them and and of course I think that might have been the highlight of UND season last year cuz they kind of they kind of faltered a little bit toward the end but I I I I I think they're getting closer um University of North Dakota versus North Dakota State University the egg school so here's what I got mty how would you read this I'm not expert reading lines there negative 11.5 how would you read that that means there are 11.5 favorites you uh NDSU no Colorado Colorado okay the negative the negative is the favorite okay I I stay out of the the sports books there but uh I saw Minnesota Golden Gophers start tonight at 8 also against the Tar Heels I think they're actually underdogs too yeah golers are yeah should be they should be's that -2 North Carolina God we got a bunch of old age guys here I do I got to get some younger guys in here your your eyesight is all shot to hell how many fingers am I holding up so we got North Carolina they're the favorites North Carol point but they're on the road that's that's why it's only two if this was in North Carolina it would probably be five beat pretty bad last year yeah I would say so cuz the golfers historically Big 10 team right yes um bottom Echelon of the Big 10 in football yeah okay well okay so historically all right all right bill you you said it in football the golfers are in in in the lower Echelon of the Big 10 in football they're not Michigan they're not Ohio state they're not um Oregon or U USC or Port well even um Penn State or isn't Penn State in the Big 10 too yes Ohio State Ohio State and and and so when you talk about the Gophers and you say in football um what kind of school would you say goers are University of Minnesota what what what what is their sport I say hockey yeah they're they're big on I used cuz I used to go to school like literally with a girl who was obsessed with that team she loved that team she not everyone in the school will be universally in support of like one sport but I always think there's a clear-cut favorite I always viewed Minnesota as either uh basketball or football one of those two or maybe kind of evenly split that's that's pretty fair that's pretty fair I don't know Monty you're way more tuned in I trust what you're I would say the University of Minnesota is a hockey school they have a football program that um we got to do an ad the the the the the University of Minnesota as far as their football program is usually kind of an also ran if I had to describe them um with a sports term well it's kind of always been Ohio State in Michigan and the rest of the league Woody has and bull schmuckler right you ever heard of those two guys bill yeah once or twice all right so Woody Hayes and B shencker yes we got a video ad to do mhm all right let's fire that baby up are you still putting off that project around the house that's been bugging you forever do you think you can wait until spring and call a contractor and have the work to the final four a couple of times right well like a long time ago but real quick football didn't wasn't that old sitcom coach wasn't that Minnesota didn't that wasn't that the school that it was based on he was a coach for the University of Minnesota Golden goers oh or maybe I'm getting mixed up with a different school I'm probably get that was Minnesota State Minnesota state oh shoot big big mix up okay so so just just and that was who the co old sitcom show Coach with that was Craig T Nelson his name okay yeah Craig NS and Luther oh that was a good show you know that was a great show oh time but unfortunately the Minnesota Golden Gophers were on probation during those years so those guys not very did not get to play in the NCA tournament well they forgot to go to school no no not that Bunch not that Bunch that Bunch was involved in some fights and things and and and illegal recruiting now we'll fast forward to the 1990s and the Bobby H what was the guy's name Knight no God they actually wiped it from the and and she she wiped it from the record they wiped it from the record it like it never existed they yeah well their football team's never been in the playoffs either that rushed for 290 yards while I was sitting in the stadium uh against Purdue and and and Mike allot um but but they've had players Ricky foggy but Tony dunie come on man he played on the he he was a start their kickoff isn't this Saturday but next Saturday against the Montana Grizzlies September 7th at 600 p.m. in evening game so yeah that's going to be well they said there's going to be 7,000 bison people at that game in oh in Colorado yeah damn oh gosh damn that's going to must be organizing a big road trip it's definitely a Thousand Mile Drive all the motel sixes will be sold out oh yeah honestly honestly from that time I said thousand people so I guess speaking of getting tickets do you guys got tickets for the UND football opener yet home opener I do I'm sure build does if the races weren't going on at that time I I was looking into getting some but then I saw it was an evening game I was like oh no I the races will be going on that it's the big sights ton night so oh so so so next Saturday yep next Saturday and that's is that's the opener against Montana Montana but but they're on the road this weekend at Iowa State Cyclones yeah and um I mean is there some connection to Iowa State or is there a coach out there or somebody somebody knows is it's just one of those games that you play for a check um is it like an exhibition or is that the regular season it's a regular game for un D well it doesn't hurt uh uh uh F conference it doesn't hurt an FCS team to open up against the FBS team and get beat because you don't have to lose yeah you're not expected to win but then when you come home the big game is that Montana game right well I would say the conference games are more important but well that's a but but that's one of those where but it's potato wow so we love potato bowl is it is that potato bowl September 7th is a potato bowl that one oh man cuz we're going to be cuz yeah I was about say I'll be in the parade for oh Hollywood Heroes going to be representing you absolutely oh what you guys got a big float already lined up well we got a car so we got that and then we're passing on candy and other stuff so yeah it's going to be fun to you know what you're going to be Dred up as I know you're big into the costume scene um I do not know yet I actually can't release that information early I can't Rel do you have some things in mind I do have some things in mind but I can't tell you of course cuz it's a secret but you the potato bowl is going to be awesome so I am excited to get french fries this year yes I am excited to get french fries this that's Thursday or Thursday right Wednesday or Thursday I believe that's on a wedes I believe always a Thursday it's always a Thursday either Wednesday or Thursday I always hit up the uh potato pancakes at the Suns of Norway that's a big deal last year last I want to try those this year I'm right that's right in my neighborhood so if you guys go to that or go to the fry thing let me know we got to meet up I do want to try those that's one of my goals for this year was to try potato pancakes I not to Hype them up to be like the be all end all but as a mixup from pan regular pancakes once a year it's something I look forward to well no we always enjoy we always enjoyed the the Rotary Club in their their P pancake sausage breakfast but then that what there was nothing last year is that going to be revived or we going to end up going be we'll have to ask Sandy Sandy will know well I guess because we we always do that but then last year we because it wasn't there we went and did the Norwegian thing over to I think I I went there like shortly after they open I think when you guys mentioned you were going it was like an hour or so after I ducked out oh no it was it was delicious I like that too it going to be in the same but you can also also go during the week to hugos for baked potatoes too yeah du always has that's that's a great bar right there oh so it so it won't be in well the one I know that goes on that I go to at a place called the sun of Sons of Norway it's right uh behind uh where circle of friends Almost yeah kind of behind jerell's adjacent from jerell's on that side of of Washington behind the old Circle of Friends building oh okay cuz when I was I remember when I was a kid we used to like it used to be in University Park all the time but I guess I guess they changed it up this year so that's why I that's why I say so oh got you but yeah no yeah yeah if you haven't tried it I'd recommend it uh I'll have to try that I haven't seen you bring up college football I I I like to throw a bone to high school football that kicked off last weekend uh you got so Central and Red River well I don't know why this seems like like a just a dolled move I don't know why a team would get scheduled a bye their first week of the season but Central was scheduled a bye their first week of the season so they did not everybody didn't play what it was it was kind of like college football has week zero but I looked on many teams played but I looked on Central schedule they don't have any other bi-weeks the rest of the season they play straight so that just seems like they got one more oh okay it seems like they got Delta raw hand but uh but yeah but there's actually two games tomorrow right yeah well I'll give a shout Red River did play last week they and they they had a better record than Central in the regular season last year a lot of people thought they would go farther in the postseason But Central kind of did an underdog made it to the state finals uh for for the state championship last year but uh Red River they handed a big win they got a big win over Dickinson High 29 to2 last weekend and they next play they are going to be hosting at kushman field uh bismar St Mary's at 4 p.m. and Central their first game of the season they'll also be playing at kushman field at 700 p.m. against Jamestown So Co their coaches take life way too seriously the central ones at least cuz I I went to that school a long time ago so we we talked to one of the central coaches uh here on the show here last week gar uh gar uh L litzinger I believe wrestling guy the wrestling Co main wrestling head coach but he's one of the football assistant coaches so no wonder awesome awesome dude I mean obviously I'm a little biased I went to Central but uh no no that was great talk to him I'll have to catch up with him again here now that uh football season is well that's a really nice facility they have over there well they just renovated it like the field anyways like a year or two ago they put a new field down yeah so that is that is a very huge deal I saw some soccer going on today when I drove by do you guys try and catch any high school games a year or for football I do for football I'll I'll be there tomorrow okay why they didn't do that for like us when we were kids like I'll never know but cuz we was when I played what was it I did wrestling like throughout my almost through my junior year and then I stopped but yeah I'm surprised that they didn't do facil like they didn't build facilities for us back then but again I guess they didn't have the money to do it so yeah I made it to two uh I I made it to a kushman field game and I went to you know obviously the last fall I talked about how I coincidentally was in the Fargo area area for some car repairs the day that the state championships were going on and I caught three State final games at the Fargo Dome it was just one of my favorite inperson experiences last year so and Central was playing there so it just made it very very uh just memorable night there but uh gosh I'm going to have to try and catch some high school games again this year so oh my gosh I'm wondering if they're going to play in the arena again cuz we did we got to play in the arena for football for that year at least releast the year we the Fargo Arena not well not that that's that's hockey well no not the not the far not that that Arena I mean the Fargo Dome yeah the Fargo Dome yes like but not the not the arena cuz if if we played in the arena then we'd have a little bit of problem because we can't really skate on our cleats why not mix it up oh man oh Sor sorry sorry mon I went on a bit of a high school well we never got a chance talk talk about to really preview the UND football team bill I always like picking your brains about it because you know you're you're you're the Alum and I know you're really well tuned because I think they still got Bo bellquist right he a legend is what he is they definitely have Bo bellquist but they're missing a few people on the offense of line so we get some new people there and we have a new quarterback too and we'll see how he does I think it's going to be more of a running team than a passing team well I know I I saw a recent article a week or two ago that Bo bellquist was like named one of like the top prospects to keep an eye out for like he cracked like the top what two or 300 or something like that I don't know if you saw that well it's that or they they kind of have all American teams and stuff too and I think he was named to a couple of those so we talking belquist now right and belquist is supposed to be like the uh mentor to dangdang well I have not heard anything about dang dang yeah isn't this to be his big debut year for him it is but but no they were when they talked about the players they expected when when I saw the assistant coaches on the news talking what players they expected to make an impact he was one of them they mentioned okay yeah I I 6'4 210 the guy can get like 40inch vertical with great hands I think they're going to put him somewhere whether it's kick returns or special teams or and then and then he did run track in New Rockford with the belquist family so they they know who he is no I I I I expect that kid to do well I hope so so M I know you got a bunch of topics uh where would you like to go to next year well I suppose we better touch on this baseball story about the guy playing for both teams in the same game in the same game first time ever in MLB history yes in I haven't heard that one sure I know you got the details there he got traded mid game well Monty I know there's a bunch of EXT extenuating circumstances that led up to it and it kind of ended up in a gentleman's agreement with both teams saying let's make history more or less right yes talk about a double feature well so so the Toronto Blue Jays okay Danny Janssen 29 was signed to the Toronto Blue Jays when they faced off against the Boston Red Sox on June 26th but the game was called off in scheduled due to Heavy Rain he was catching up batting for the Canadian side Johnson saw only one pitch from Boston cutter Crawford in the second Innings before the game was postponed the Jays then sold Johnson to the red socks on the 27th of July in exchange for three minor league prospects while still being technically at the plate in the paused game Alex cor manager of the Boston side said ahead of the game he would feeli Jansen despite his having played for the opposition adding Let's Make History the game resumed on Monday this past Monday 65 days 18 hours and 35 minutes after play was paused with jnon now a catcher for the Red Sox and the Jay's Dalton Baro pinch hitting in place of the former player it was the first time a baseball player played for two sides in the same game in major league history Johnson then went on to make another historic first after varo was struck out to finish Johnson's batting for the Jays in the second inning the 29-year-old then returned then returned to the field to bat in a Red Sox jersey to Cheers from the crowd making the first time a player batted for both teams in the same inning well while the Red Sox lost the game 7-3 Johnson said I was surprised when I found out I was the first one to do it it's cool leaving a stamp like that on the game it's interesting it's strange I'm grateful for the opportunity to have that and at the end of the day it's a cool thing manager Kora added after the game it was a very cool moment just to be part of it I don't know if it's going to happen again it has to be the perfect storm for that to happen starting with the storm and I'm glad everybody enjoyed it well got to give credit to Sky Sports for that story and and my thing though was I when I first saw the story I thought I thought that it was like a current game I didn't know it was a suspended game you know and then a month later M I thought it was like he got traded and and in in the same day it all took place when you first told me it that's what I that's how I was interpreting you think that's what you think like oh the trade broke and it happened mid game and but they flipped him over but the way you mean it all make sense here with the rain out happening and postponing the game and well he urg started the game this position this is the makeup day I just sounds like the coaches came together and they're like why not why not kind of like how you'll see this every once in a while like for the Joe Mau final game in baseball uh they uh they the coach the Minnesota coach I think it was Moler at the time or it might have uh been their current coach uh baldelli oh came up to uh the the other team's coach and was like hey this is Joe Mau we really want him to have one last oh I already got him dialed in super song Steve is on the line I cannot say like Raven welcome that's okay you're okay you're fine yeah we were just talking about the guy that played for the Jays and the and the uh Red Sox in the same game here this week yeah I saw that like was it the first time ever or something like that yeah and and and it was like um like we were Dale and I were just talking that we thought I I thought originally this was like something that actually was happening live like like the game took place and then he was traded you know this earlier in the day and then they flipped him over but but it was actually a a a game that was delayed a month ago oh yeah and then and then he brought came in as a you know in the same inning and batted uh for the other team still pretty cool but I mean um that would not happen in football nostalgic oh oh [ __ ] Bill Bill got we hate the opponents Bill Bill got got he he transferred to the portal from UND to NDSU and he played in the same game how would that be I don't think that would oh man go over I know we got a lot more to get into M I believe we're due for our this guy and he he SS he he been hanging he sets an attendance record at Thea Center you know Thea Center will set those Oddball attendance records like they did for share yeah but two in a row too yeah hey the the demand is high in the Red River Valley they did the guy they did from the to well the ticket the tickets were not cheap either jeez yeah but uh yeah that's a great deal I always take the rumors bus I took it several times last year to UND hockey games just five bucks there saving versus $225 in parking at the Ralph I think that's a great option and you get your money back with a free drink coupon so it's is that the bus Paul's Bann from you'll have to ask Paul on that one Paul was the driver Paul took over driving uh I see Keith in the chat he was I guess speaking of championships and baseball a little earlier before the break he asked if any you guys caught the Little League championship game I did yeah who I did too what what what was going on what teams were playing well it was Taiwan but they were saying Chinese Tai Taiwan or something I don't know and then a Florida team and it ended up that the score was tied in oh yeah I listened to this one on the radio okay and so the Florida team bunts down the first Baseline the catcher comes from behind the plate and throws at the first base for the out and the second baseman didn't cover oh no went into the Outfield and the guy came around from second uh to Third and then into scored a winning game so it was a it was a walk what do they call that a walk-off bunt walk-off bunt oh my Lord so so just to get this straight so he bunted down the first base line right the first baseman charged fielded Char charged and fielded it no the catcher did the catcher did right from behind the plate from behind the plate the catcher throws beh or on the side of the guy running down the base and there was nobody at first base so it just went out into right field okay so so the first baseman is coming too to field right and the second baseman is standing there scratching his nuts right he's supposed to come over and cover the base that's going to be one of those Hall of Shame moments well and and that's that's always the you know the fundamental stuff well you you normally don't win on a good play you normally win on a mistake by the opponent in just about any sport it can be that way in hockey it can be that way in football you know you throw an interception and boy not if I'm running the [Music] team I know running with a IR fist I know the Vikings won't have any interceptions so who who wound up uh what team was it they got the win then somebody from Florida Florida but wasn't wasn't there like a semifinal game with the Venezuela team well what they do is they do the world champion right right and they play off the winners of that so so I think it was Mexico and well it was obviously Chinese t or whatever you call it and whoever it was vene Venezuela had this picture this Venezuela I think had this pitcher though and he had this this game in in kind of in hand and it got away from him we loaded the bases and he ended up walking in the winning run like in the semifinal was the game I was he's been pitching a Dandy too lost it yeah and and and then he was distraught too was like oh boy yeah like like crying on the mound when when the game em there's no crying in baseball when you're 11 years old that's the thing you get those big you know Championship Games especially for the younger crowd that they get they get super wound up and emotional in those big moments extreme game man like those bison were all crying last year after the UND game too oh man yeah watching that I sent and especially like triple so in the Olympics I sent you guys that clip where the the US women's rugby team got that game-winning uh that game-winning score and immed they thought they were going to lose but they got that lucky break and made that great run that great stiff arm and the Olympics you just see you know that cliche line the thrill Victory the a Agony of defeat over the opposing team you know it's it's there it's a thing boy the thrill of victory and the agony defeat Dale just took us back into the wide world I said I said it was I said it was a borrowing an adage there so well well so do you remember the the the the the agony of defeat was that skier coming down oh yeah jump it was a ski jump oh that was so brutal cuz what wild World of Sports went to like the or so they were around for quite a while I would spend Summers on a farm and there would be nothing to watch on the weekends and that I think that was like the Saturday or Sunday block from like what noon to 4:00 or 11: to 5: or something like that does that sound about right yeah I do uh tend to follow certain teams in the Western Conference um Mo mostly over the years I've been a Laker fan like the showtime Lakers out of out of the Western Conference I'm always a Nick fan no matter what but through and through yes through and through it's always whoever they're playing um but I've been to plenty of Spurs games like in um 1994 I was at the uh Great Western Conference shootout between the Houston Rockets and hakee alijan and and David Robinson Spurs and um hakeim alijan I went to three games of that series and hakee alijan on the night they gave uh David Robinson the MVP trophy for the season hakeim elijuan scored 44 and lit him up like a child he took offense to it lit him up like a child and then um in 20 um let's see what year was that think when they won the title there what the the David Robinson's final game 2003 2003 yeah yeah 2003 Duncan T D Tim Duncan I was I was Courtside for that game when the confetti came out of the ceiling in game six when when was that in San Antonio then in San Antonio against the Nets uh the Nets had um Kenyan Martin um uh Jefferson um Jason kid uh Carrie KD I mean they were a good squad but but David Robinson Tim Duncan um Tony Parker and at that time Joby with him by that point jobi was there and um Bowen was he with them U Bowen was there Bowen was the locktown defender and then they had um uh Jackson Parish no the guy they jettison um oh gosh he was just a scorer was what what what what he was H I wish I could remember his name anyway anyway Bruce Bowen now talking about and I went to lots of regular season games there also in San Antonio and and Michael red for the Milwaukee Bucks uh supersonic do you remember that guy at all oh yeah he was the the left-handed upand cominging superstar upand cominging superstar and I saw him light up now you brought up Bruce Bowen yeah I used to follow the Spurs a lot they used to be my favorite team for a long long time I still they're pretty much my second favorite team now now that I have the concept of home teams the timber but no they were my favorite team because uh I'd play them all the time in NBA Jam David Robinson and sea Elliott I was like these this is my go-to combo and uh yeah love loved him but Bruce Bowen was a lock down Defender he was a guard yeah he about a 6'6 guard but they put him on the small forward or the guard and he was a lock down defender on the scorer but I saw Michael Rhett drop 38 on him like like Bruce Bowen wasn't even there m really yes I'm just for the Milwaukee Bucks I'm just perplexed that uh in the almost three years of doing this show you've always brought up you're rooting for the Knicks and all the all your Nicks fandom this is the first I believe this has ever come up of all you're going to the the Robinson's final game going to all these Pur games this has never come up before to the best of my knowledge bill has this come up before the Spurs yeah is Monty going attending the I'm sure you've probably known about it but on the show has Monty brought it up before he knows yeah he's been he's been to Texas a few times with his favorite brother-in-law I had no idea you were a secret Spurs fan well you know what's cool about San Antonio is um the new stadium there the the the place they play is much River Walk is the best in San Antonio that dirty little [ __ ] shallow pool jeez mon tell us tell us how you really feel super sonic have you been down there to that I have a number of times to that to that dirty little cess pool that barely floats along it's like there's probably more bodies in it than fish and doesn't Charles Barkley say the women are all just beautiful and San Antonio no he no he doesn't no he doesn't no I'm not going I'm not I'm not I'm not going there Colorado is up 7 to3 thank you Keith there you go but no the the the Spurs um that dynasty and it was a dynasty the Duncan and and Robinson job and Parker and you know they they were they they were a a really um you know well those back and forth finals with the heat I'm going tell I'm going to tell you what right now they were the fundamental Squad you know they called Tim Duncan the big fundamental that was his nickname and and and and the whole team was that way it was they ran a system when when LeBron was in in in Miami with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosch there was no system going on there they were they they thought they were going to win on individual talent and had not Kawhi Leonard missed that one free throw when he was a rookie LeBron would be one less ring yeah for sure you know Ray Allen bailed his ass out you know it's interesting bringing up all the success for basketball and it wasn't a three when he shot that just so you know oh he's on the line huh he was had his foot on the line man and I'm a Ray Allen guy he was a sonic yeah well I know and he was in but but he was that was a Miami in Miami call and I believe Robert Hy was with the Spurs for a a pair of his Seven Rings uh yes well d uh Tim Duncan nickname Robert Hy Big Shot Bob yeah you I remember I try and keep up with the Spurs when they were in the playoffs just because especially during those two big runs leading up to those uh two big what I think both times they played the heat in the finals they both went seven games they they swapped wins they were like the best fast basketball of the decade and uh yeah it it was just phenomenal stuff but uh you know I well well when you consider the first time the Heat made the uh finals with LeBron James they got beat by Durk and Dallas right and Dallas so the Texas the Texas teams have a thorn up LeBron's butt that he'll never get rid of well no he lost first to the Spurs when he was with the Cavs right well yeah they swept it that that was really young in his career but what in his in his first like you know in his prime run but that's but that's the team they talk about LeBron got got the Cavaliers to the finals all by himself it had no no elgus was an Allstar Center on that team but you know it's interesting bringing up championship and success in hoops cuz I know another one of your topics he wanted to talk about Caitlyn Clark making some big big waves I mean not just to bring it up for bringing the S up for just random headlines but she's she had some big Milestones this week well just before we get into Caitlyn Clark we we talked about all these Spurs players but I will talk about a Spurs player that that people overlooked over and over and over uh Mario Ellie oh yeah Super Sonic that guy did everything he did all the dirty work he was that guy um he could score he could play defense he could rebound you know Swiss Army KN yes and and if you don't have a player like that you don't win and and he he's a guy in history in history of NBA basketball he's overlooked like he didn't even exist you know when did Kerr go there um well Kerr Kerr got in on um did he get on one of them or no he got in on more than that he um Kerr got at least two rings with the Spurs because he left Chicago to go to San Antonio yes and be the be the the the Sharpshooter in the corners and stuff um yeah Kerr because of his his time with with the bulls and his time with the with with the Spurs and his time with golden state is like hot on Phil Jackson's uh tail for for getting close I think I think Kerr ended up with like seven rings himself seven or eight Rings um not necessarily always as a player like like uh Robert Ory so what Tony Parker was gone then or no Tony Parker was there um the the thing that kind of broke the Spurs up and now we're going to get scandalous here okay um Tony Parker was um was he married to EV longor yeah I think he was married at one time yeah and she was always like courtside yeah I I literally when when I'm talking about the Michael Rett game I was sitting in the seat she sat in oh shoot okay on court side yeah no okay and and shooter man oh yeah he but but that was the Michael Rett game and and and when the game was over I was uh the Bucks beat the Spurs and I was high-fiving Ruben Patterson and and and Charlie Bell from the Bucks and um anyway but that that was where Eva longor SAT but John Barry played for the Spurs and he was Rick Barry's son he had a couple right yeah Rick John Barry and Brett Barry John Barry played for the Spurs and well Tony Parker was married to Eva Longoria he was banging John Barry's wife that's right that's right I remember that what does that have to do with sports sports it's Sports it is sports it's Sports even though it's related to sports players and and and and and that that was the beginning of the demise of the Spurs yeah when you had that scandal going on that was a hell of a run though they had what four championships in what 10 12 years five okay and and their first one was in 1999 against my beloved New York Knicks yeah when the when okay the Knicks beat the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals but Patrick Ying went up for a rebound and came down and tore all the ligaments in his arm when he landed so he didn't play yeah and then um Grandma um Johnson uh M New York Knicks that's your team I'm leaving it all up to you LJ Larry Johnson Larry Johnson tore his knee up and he did play in the finals but he was on one leg and so they had to they had to elevate Marcus cambi and Kurt Thomas who were like rookies in first and second year players to their big men against Duncan and Robinson in '99 and and so alen Houston and Latrell spell were carrying the Knicks they it was four to one 1999 m is ready for the Knick season to begin well I'm telling you this in in in basketball or any sport injuries play key roles I don't give a [ __ ] where you're at and when you're at it happens it does you could have the best team in the world and injuries will take you down um or as the Vikings preseason goes it it really did a number on them well another example is the the the Los Angeles Lakers the very end of Showtime Magic Johnson y y they played the Detroit Pistons in the finals yep Magic Johnson Tor a hamstring yeah Byron Scott Tor a hamstring so the two starting guards were out so Michael Cooper was out there playing guard all by himself yeah and and and so Rip Hamilton and and and M you you should make a list and that could be like a good like random special like top 10 like gamechanging season changing uh injuries for a team that sounds like those would be tough cand well the greatest injury in all of history of sports is Willis Reed crawling back out 1970 oh God the captain but but and then he came in and hit what his first three shots and then he first two first two that's all it took the garden was ho the garden was ho oh boy yeah I remember that game well there has to be Alex Carris or somebody in football that did something fantastic too oh yeah Gale sers yeah coming in on one leg and anyone from the Cowboys I know because they them boys Brett far I remember he got concussed in a game and before the concussion protocol is what it was what it is today uh he he kind of went back out there against doctor's orders and they're like oh looks like they're going to keep far took a nasty hit he's going to be on they're checking out him for observation then like two plays later he kind of snuck in the Huddle without telling the coaches and the backup went back to the sidelines and like wait a second fars back out there he threw a touchdown after the game in the press conference post interview he said he did not remember throwing the touchdown pass yeah so who was that Brett farre yeah oh yeah okay yeah was he with Green Bay yep that was in his Green Bay days yeah I don't think that man will ever stop playing he loves how many fingers do you see up there oh he's thank goodness he stoed several years ago but for a while what he had what three retirements I think yeah o and he still wants to play and and and his career would would would still be uh looked at as as stellar and everything but that little stint with the Jets when he was like floating his wiener around on oh yeah that I remember that the next year I want and how many CTA players do we have or CTE players now guys that should not have been playing on the field well but that's the isn't that the thing bill is that like in in in in our day and I'm sure I had concussions in high school and you probably did too I mean they just trotted you back I'm kind of dizzy coach take an aspirin here's a smelling salt here's a smelling salt walk it off son walk it off an aspirin to it as rub some dirt on it LO it off son that's I was going to say put some dirt on it super super sonic did you ever have like a smelling s under your nose to bring you back to over Colorado 10 to or whoops yep check that 10 to S yep hey while we were talking about the Spurs what did you guys think of papovich did you like him as a coach well boy that's a that's a that's a touchy question because for me he was the general manager of the team and they had a guy named um Bob Hill I think was yeah he got hosed yeah he got hosed and they they fired him um I was down there when Bob Hill was the head coach and Dennis Rodman was playing for the Spurs um Dennis Rodman had just gone into his tattoo and and colored hair phase y he didn't he wasn't like that when he was in Detroit no he wasn't and and and then he was dating Madonna Madonna was coming to the games yeah and and suddenly suddenly suddenly Rodman was this this he was this um celebrity outside of basketball yeah and they couldn't control him but he still was leading the the the NBA in rebounding yeah and that season when I was down there I saw the Spurs play the rockets in the playoffs a couple games with Rodman there and um Rodman was averaging like 14 points a game scoring and like 19 rebounds a game and and when the Spurs lost to the Rockets he took all the blame but David Robinson was the guy that didn't show up yeah against the rockets in in like the final game Rodman had like 14 points in 19 Admiral right that was Robinson's nickname Robinson ended up with only like 14 points himself and he should have been the 30-point guy I mean Robinson and and then and and and what I do what I do note is that every time Rodman came out of the game he would come and sit on the floor on the Baseline he wouldn't sit on the on the on on the the the bench and he'd take his shoes off yeah he always had these Traditions man and and and so Bob Hill would look at him in disgust yeah so anyway Bob Hill got fired papovich moved down from GM and became coach the guy never coached a goddamn game in his life he was not a coach papovich was not a NBA he was not a college coach he was not a high school coach he was was a he he was a a um general manager a general manager a an executive guy and he brought himself down and well I guess I could I think I could coach Tim Duncan and David Robinson together that'd be pretty tough roll the balls out good good you couldn't coach LeBron James who can want I about to say who who wants to exactly who wants to he's he's like the Kryptonite coaches I mean he's the king remember you are you only addressed him as the King which is sad he right now as far as I'm concerned JJ reck is a unic well mon the new head coach of the Lakers what's a unic a unic would be a guy with no balls with all this basketball talk he doesn't have any coaching experience either no he doesn't but he's a handpicked guy to be LeBron's coach he's a unic with all this basketball talk money I did actually make an effort to watch some WNBA getting caugh get caught up on the links here so they're actually on a roll they're kicking butt but let us have it I I I you you sent me off on the tangent with the Spurs I could talk Spurs I was perplexed I had never seen this side of you on on the show before with your Spurs I go through my closet and I'm going Yankee Yankee Yankee Nick Nick oh look at I got a Spurs shirt sitting back there but uh but no the links they won seven straight games uh they just had a game the other day uh they they dominated the Phoenix Mercury 89 to 76 nefisa ker I mean she was rocking in the Olympics she got 31 points five boards leading with scoring but uh uh last weekend on Saturday Caitlyn Clark I mean the links played over in uh Indiana earlier in the year but this is her first time playing in the Target Center and you know the link still won they got the win 90 to 80 but Clark uh she kind of said a milestone in that game she got 23 points became the fastest WNBA player to uh hit 500 points and at least 200 assists and she did it in 29 games and then just the other day she said another big milestone we're talking about this before the show Monty fastest WNBA player by a rookie uh to for three-pointers uh making 86 uh so yeah just huge huge huge uh yeah most three-pointers by a rookie she broke the record WNBA record for most three-pointers by a rookie the the old record was 85 she got 86 the other day so yeah she's just lighting it up I think the fever played in Minneapolis one other time about a month ago didn't they or was it I thought they were on the road uh again the fever Rania got it mixed up so I think they were in Minneapolis they said everybody the whole state of Iowa was there yeah in Minneapolis it was it was before the Olympics because you know that coach was the Olympic coach for the links and she was saying stuff like I don't give a [ __ ] what she does in here and do you think they're regret do you think they should why obviously uh us women won the gold anyways but you think it was a mistake now in hindsight for them not to send Caitlyn Clark well I think she should have been in well when you have they're doing it more on the honor System respecting the veterans you think that's the right way to go that was the co what the coach said but but I I I think that when you have a a once in a-lifetime player um it would be like leaving Magic Johnson off Pete Mar or Larry Bird and and and anyway Caitlyn Clark um what what she reminds me of is how um Pistol Pete was accepted into the NBA he wasn't but he had all the accolades because he was a scoring champion and and they brought him in he had all the Flash and Dash and and they were talking about him like he was a punk That Couldn't actually play in this league and you know he turned out to be one of the greatest shman that ever existed you know and played on some bad teams really I mean you go to to to his his time at Atlanta with the with the Hawks when he first got in the league well I thought he was at New Orleans too wasn't he or that's where he went after Atlanta but he started out with as a hawk and and his teammate was Lou Hudson from the University of Minnesota anybody out there want to know that but Lou Hudson Lou Hudson was extremely jealous of Pistol Pete marovic and that was his backc court mate Jes because the guy was so flashy and and so you have a guy that's kind of playing against you um the center on the team was Walt Bellamy a Hall of Famer um and they did have pieces but they had nothing close to a full team then when pistal Pete signed with the the New Orleans Jazz for you people out there the Utah Jazz there's no jazz in Utah it was New Orleans Jazz and and and they had a pretty decent team there too they brought in well Glenn Hansen we've had gr Forks native we've had him on the show was on that team um Gail Goodrich who was on the 1972 33 win team World Champion Los Angeles Lakers with Wilt Chamberlain and and and Jerry West but um the the the boy I rich Kelly was the center on the team okay any of you guys remember Rich Kelly yeah Super Sonic you would you would but I do what was he an All-Star no not even close not even close he wasn't even Tom he was a big he was big but he was not that great he was not Tom Bor Winkle okay who was the guy that the Timberwolf sent to the Utah Jazz the French guy Rudy goar or no they picked him up from the Jazz yeah no the other the guard oh you know one how far back about not very far back oh no yeah yeah uh Ricky Rubio yeah yeah no I was at the Minnesota home opener uh a few years ago the only Timberwolves game I went to when it was his first game uh at uh I guess this the second game of the season but like it a Timberwolves home opener where his uh his first game the first Timberwolves game at the Target Center without Ricky Rubio so the crowd was like giving him Applause like all right he's still one of our own nice respectful Applause when he came out in the Jazz uniform and I think Ricky Rubio deliberately wanted to make sure to get rid of that heartfelt Applause because not even a couple L into the game this deliberate flop instant 180 flip from the crowd all right screw this guy but eventually he went back so I I think um you know I I Had A Little Bit of Sympathy for Ricky Rubio because they brought him over here like as an 18-year-old kid yeah and he'd been playing pro ball since he was like 15 yeah cuz then they like claim like early draft rights to and and and it was really unfair to him um where he was thrown into and he did develop into a pretty solid basketball player but his whole game was Flash and Dash also the fancy passes and stuff and he was always a beat off trying to do that stuff in Minneapolis when he was like 18 19 years old and then he ended up having like two serious knee injuries and coming back from both of them and actually being a better player when when he learned but he was a pretty boy he was like the Playboy yeah the girls were all over him he came you know what what what country did he come from was it Spain Spain and and he was he was like he he was the the girls were all over this guy he he was like a supermodel that he had a he had a fun name to say he had great alliteration ribi Rubio Ricky Rubio Ricky Rubio R right it actually does yeah ites come come back to my room Rick I know you had an unfortunate years he had like mental health issues and yeah he had it took personal time off and eventually retired but uh I this week baseball the New York Yankees are the best team in the American League and the Los Angeles Dodgers are the best team in the National League when I look at that my heart feels happy it's like it's like history I'm not happy do we have any commercials we just let me tell you about the river it's like the two teams that belong in top are on top to go to well I know I'm not I'm definitely in a little bit the twins are in a little bit of a slump they're on four game pitching is faltering yeah four games seven in their last 10 a lot of big well they got a lot of good starting pitching but the the relievers they have not been uh stepping up failing in the clutch some Extra Inning losses uh they had a good uh new rookie uh debut or uh zebie Matthews and then another rookie also um gosh what was his name uh I got it here a little bit ago uh David F he did six Innings of seven strikeout ball yesterday against Atlanta Braves but they ended up losing one to five cuz the relever just didn't uh yeah a lot of bad bad losses but uh right now they still got a really good win loss record 72 and 61 but they're now third in the AL Central I think a week ago they were second so yeah they're they are in a SL well they're right there with the RO well they're three they're three and a half games back right now thank goodness the Guardians are in the slump too yeah well the the the Royals actually jumped into the first place for a minute and the Royals and Guardians are playing each other and last night the Guardians beat the Royals so the Guardians hopped back up a half a game but the Guardians just played the Yankees too didn't they yes they did and and and and so so the Guardians are still in first place by half a game going into tonight Kansas City is a half game out twins are three and a half out going the other direction they were right there when I was down there and saw the two games I saw the twins had a chance to move into first place and didn't they split two games to two with the Guardians yeah they're doing really good until about a week week and a half ago they were like going like two and one in a lot of their series well what's happening is is they're having to play good teams yeah actual good teams contenders yeah and and they can't beat good teams well and now their injuries are are are packing up they lost Joe Ryan a really good starting pitcher well they lost him but Korea and buck Kore neither one of them's been so off and on off and on this season well I saw hit two home runs in one game yeah yeah but but then he got hurt right away now he's out again Royce Lewis is at least back he's been back for his longest stretch so far this season which has only been like about a month unfortunately but but we are still in a season where nobody looks like they're going to win 100 games has that been a while since that happened 2017 wow okay so seven years ago and it's sat tight I mean um for a lot of the season the Baltimore Orioles held the half game one game lead on theend Yankees and the Yankees flipped it back over now recently um what I will say is that uh earlier this week we had a game where judge homered Stanton homered stto homered and glaber Torres homered if those four guys start hitting the ball good night rest of the league yeah gosh that guy almost killed the did well Jud has been what what what's up Bill there was a which darnold or whoever it was on the Yankees broke his Bat and itend like over his knees or something or like it ended up in the neck of the Umpire oh no it like broke when he made contact with the ball and like there's like debris that ricocheted at the Umpire no I think the whole bat did you know the bat broke in half oh gosh and it ended up cutting his neck and stuff I think he was taken off on a stretcher I wouldn't I wouldn't that wouldn't surprise me but that was that was the issue why all catchers these days have that flap hanging down because Steve jger from the Los Angeles Dodgers took took a broken bat that stabbed him right through the neck dude yep and you remember that Super Sonic and boy none of those guys had that flap that leather flap that hung down blow the mask and so I suppose umpires don't expect that that's going to happen to them hey suic dang Super Sonic how are you feeling about the Mariners so far this season they're climbing back well thank you um you know they got rid of their coach uh about a week ago we talked about that last week and there's uh they hired Dan Wilson who was a catcher for us for probably a dozen years great guy people love him the fans love them but their biggest problem right now they got a an ownership that's tight and their general manager uh he smiles a lot but he's the players don't like him and uh until they get rid of him uh they're going to be flamering out 500 that's just my opinion I they have a shot he's been there nine years and hasn't done you know I think we reached playoffs once and uh I think we were out the first round but he he talks a lot but a lot of people are getting really tired of them do you think they have a shot of at least making the wild card you know they won two here recently I think they lost last night but they have an outside chance I think they're three and a half out uh for the division but but actually the division's a little bit lighter in the win loss column than the other divisions um they'd have the weaker of them yeah they they'd have to put a little Sprint on um actually the twin are the ones that are starting to fall out of the wild card oh gosh I do not like this just yeah one little slump one little four game they sure remind each other you know they're kind of the same well they do they marry each other a lot and and they do and it's the trade deadline when you should be adding another Fireball and you know pitching wins I last year um the Texas Rangers won the World Series but it they they it it was one of the first times in hist history that a bunch of hitters got hot and and overtook the the pitching usually it's you have one or two pitchers that shut everybody down I see the Mariners have the Angels tomorrow night uh Mariners are 68 and 66 but they're in second in in their in their AL West so three and a half out yeah they had a 10 game lead in July Houston Houston yeah yeah yeah that's why they fired the coach ouch that would do it that would definitely lead to a oh man it did it definitely did oh God it's it's it's it's that that's a touchy division um it used to be those those teams out there way were way better I mean you know Texas Seattle Houston well even the the angels with uh Otani you know but now he's a Dodger and so the Dodgers are the best team in baseball by like half a game going into tonight over the Yankees yeah and and but I'll tell you what I'll take that Yankee lineup oh my God those hitters and they have they have pitching they really good pitching yeah twins are off today who's their number one starter Garrett Cole that's what I thought yeah but he he missed most half the season he just came back that's what I thought but they have they have pitching Galore they have they they have middle relief guys they got late guys they got it it is fireballers it it it's a loaded staff I I do see another update on the buis in Colorado game uh Colorado is up 14 to 10 it's early in the second quarter and I guess football do you want down to 10 minutes here do you want to do a little NFL preseason wrap up here well well sure boy you know is is is are we talking like uh European football well a lot of people don't count n Season dang well hey preseason bill just gave you the look preseason matters it may not matter in the record books but it matters for getting players reps and it's for players like auditioning just to get a roster spot to just to make a spot in the depth chart or make a good showing so in that way preseason very much matters but uh no uh Bill our our our teams faced off last week there is no decisive winner there was a tie oh Raiders and the ners 24 24 tie there's no no overtime in preseason so which makes sense but uh Brock P Seas was was the tiebreaker a drinking game oh gosh yeah yeah the the tiebreaker is going at it in a round of uh Madden so was it in Vegas or uh I did not catch where it was at uh but uh maybe Keith can give us a shout out there where it was at but uh but Brock pie he had nine he he kind of went nine out of 12 passing but got an interception and but oh my gosh the I do not like talking about him Josh JS that wild card roller coaster of a player for the Vikings last year the astronaut yeah he got he was there he's the Niners backup but he finished with eight out of 10 passing and one touchdown pass uh they start their season hosting the Jets uh on Monday night football against Aaron Rogers and the Jets September 9th at 7:15 Bill how are you feeling about the Raiders from their preseason I don't know I guess I really haven't spent that much time deciphering it I I did look into the crazy it just broke earlier today Monty I were looking at it the Brandon I auk situation cuz he was holding out their like main stud wide receiver uh holding on on contract talks like he intentionally didn't play like most of training camp these opening preseason games and the Niners coaching staff is like know he's got to play they're trying to trade him to the Steelers but talks fell through but earlier today news broke they finally settled on a contract extension $120 million for 4 years 76 million is guaranteed so yeah he's 30 a year y go into the pay window uh so and but Christian mcaffry he sat out all preseason with a minor calf injury but Kyle shanan said he should be ready to play against the Jets on the season opener but Monty Super Sonic Steve Victor any thoughts on NFL preseason for for your guys' team well I think dvin cook being picked up by the Dallas Cowboys May rejuvenate him a little bit I I I I don't know what it is about people that end up going to the new the New York Jets but I think the Jets you know they're the bastard step child of the Giants just like the Nets are the bastard stepchild of the Knicks and just like the um Islanders are the bastard stepchild of the the Rangers and and you know you you you you get on that other team up there in New York and the media bashes you just as bad I mean see Brett Favre when he got to the Jets or see Bob McAdoo and Spencer Haywood when they landed in New York for the Knicks that you you have guys that the Big Apple eats them alive Sunny Gray Landing with the New York Yankees um he spent last season with the he phenomenal with the twins yeah phenomenal with the twins cuz he's out in the midwest where nobody's [ __ ] covering him but but but he's in New York where the media eats you alive now you trans this you trans for that you go out west to Los Angeles where the media mcoddles you they tell you how great you are they coddle you out there in in leftist land butter you up and and but but you go to New York the Big Apple they eat your ass alive and spit you out and send you downtown well the US opens on too playing no I don't believe so no I'm just kidding okay okay so Chris Everett was was like the darling pretty girl of the tennis versus all the butch um um what didn't she go with mackenro at that time too no uh Jimmy con Jimmy Conor Jimmy Connor Jimmy Connor yeah but but but Chris Evert was was was like the darling because she was like the pretty girl in in the um Butch looking tennis uh women's um Jim Everett oh yeah yeah remember and and and and when he had when when Jim Rome had ever on his show he kept calling him Chris yeah and they got into a fist fight yeah he beat the [ __ ] out of there he told him if you call me Chris one more time we're going to have to go to a commercial Rak and the boy he's like I bet you won't say it again and boy he did and then the next thing you know the table's flipping over he's beating the crap out of him and his crew literally came and had to get him off of him and you can imagine this boy is like 10t this man's size so I'm like dude you better stop because he's going to beat the [ __ ] out of this kid they had to get him off well he deserved it he warned no heed yeah right he deserved it and and that was Jim Rome trying early in his career trying to make a name for himself yeah and and that was always the thing that kills me is here he is now on this Big Show and I'm thinking back to that where where Evert should have kicked his ass in beat him down in a c that that's what I'm saying man he he deserved to get his ass kicked you know cuz I'm like dude this this guy's like 10 times your size and you want to you want to screw with this guy like okay let's see how he's a big dude that guy's a big man I mean come on man like what what was going through your mind by saying like Chris Chris Chris like dude come on well he was doing that he was doing that because the Rams were failing in the playoffs year after year they were you know they were like the favorites and they get beat and so he was you know giving him a feminine name and and I'm like what sports guy would do that now yeah like seriously I I want to see someone do that let me ask Super Sonic a question I can't believe this guy because this guy was a quarterback at Washington state right and he's a commentator for ESPN that Ryan Leaf right Ryan Leaf oh gosh he like one of the biggest busis one of the biggest uh first round top yeah was he was he at Montana too I want say it was like with the Chargers and later the Cowboys from Montana got recruited by WSU came there had a great college career he got arrogant and smile and a lot of people didn't like him then I think was it the Chargers yeah Chargers got the first round a lot of people were debating like between him and pidt him matting for the top that you're right yeah and he had a drug issue he had gotten some drad problems actually spent a little time in the big house yes uh and clean I met actually met him think I think I think he did some like um forging prescription uh right drugs or something yeah for forging prescription uh prescriptions to get drugs but how can he be on ESPN well you know it's some it's interesting how some players may have least a good college career but may not have a good pro career and they wind up being analyst the B sayso I I will um I'll always forgive guys but you know Michael Irvin is is in a hotel room with a couple of prostitutes with a plate full of cocaine and and it wasn't mine yeah are you going to say Obviously it wasn't mine it it sounded like McAfee had quite a bit of fun in Ireland too oh did he he was just pounding he said he was in like six or seven drinks oh no during the broadcast yeah he's taking a break from his announcing duties to go back to college game days his new routine he'll take a break from uh doing the play byplay or com color commentary on raw and now he's back college game daytime so he just had his last uh announcing gig for WWE last week so it's amazing how like you can get in like the biggest trouble in the world but your reputation is what saves you from drowning they're like I know this guy I went to school he was a great player so I mean you know it wouldn't be surprising if he became a commentator or if he was uh working on the side for something a little bit more you know some of these players may have went to school for announcing or they just may have the natural gift for Gap that uh you know Inside the NBA they some of the players would during the season would would Moonlight on there and they're like hey stop playing and come on join the Inside the NBA uh not I forget the the main uh one of the main Inside the NBA guys is like that but uh a couple of quick last things I want to bring up here uh is uh got props of Vikings you know for what it's worth worth they swept the preseason without uh very little action from JJ McCarthy uh they they won all three of their games and yeah looks like Sam darnold's going to be starting with Nick Mullins behind him and Jared Hall getting bulk of the action their final preseason game I speaking of wrestling a little bit ago I want to give a big uh rest in peace uh to Sid Udi AKA Sid Vicious and psycho Sid uh he was a great charismatic big man something about this inorganic Charisma where I shouldn't like this guy the crowd loved him a lot of great big moments winning the WWE championship against sh Michaels and Masson Square Garden uh he headlined a couple WrestleMania against Undertaker and uh Hulk Hogan and headlined of starcade as well uh definitely a hell of a big man guy uh had his career derailed in his final years with some freak injuries but uh no way more good memories and bad of uh of Sid Vicious uh that was still my favorite match between him and Undertaker oh yeah WrestleMania 13 yeah my under Undertaker's my boy all the way dude and truly he actually and funny thing was he came into a Dairy Queen Queen literally and my my bro didn't even know who the heck he was like literally he came in one day to a Dairy Queen like the one uh next to the tracks right next to those cleaners yeah he came into the dairy cream my friend didn't even know who he was and so he gave him a blizzard and then he just walked Walked right out yeah he just walked right out I didn't even know who he was gosh oh man of all the people you would least expect to go to a Dairy Queen uh and then uh one one last thing I'll bring up here too is uh uh big shout out to Lando Norris do crushing F1 last weekend uh he won the Dutch Grand Prix that's Max ver stpp and usually the f1's Golden Boy from the last several years the current three-time champion from the last three grand PR wasn't it quite a distance too yeah a 23 yeah 23 Second lead usually that's well up until like the early part of the season that's how Big Max was dominating F1 but now Lando Norris M huge yeah McLaren they've been they've had some big upgrades this year they they are being debated now the last several races like the fastest cars on the track uh for staffen had the lead for the first several lap he had the jump on ver stappen veren had the jump on Lando Norris but Norris was able to correct course and overtake him and and get the win in his home territory but yeah fun race uh feel bad though the American F1 driver Logan Sergeant he got demoted unfortunately had a bad crash in practice and so he kind of is now done for the year with Williams uh but uh yeah we'll see how that goes for him his future where it lies but uh that's the last things I got uh sorry Monty I wanted to make sure to get those in one ass thing for Bill who's how's nor or North Dakota going to do this year um could be a long year but we'll see he's he's he's you know he he's such a pessimist you know we were out last night and and we were pulling pull tabs and Bill's such a Gambling Man yeah he was the only one pulling any winners 100 dollar win well he he pulls them and he doesn't even know he won oh really why he brings you wow that's why he brings you no I I I [ __ ] I'm losing all night well the lines were going diagonal and I uh I didn't understand that one well my wife does a betting for me I don't I got no time for Mets are still you know going um unfortunately for the twins they ran into Atlanta they're a pretty good team um so you're you're looking at some of the Stellar uh franchises are are still the ones in the mix the ones spending the big money and and you know it's going to come down to a handful of games just a month over from uh playoffs yes and and and so the twins are right there but they need to get their guys back if they're going to be any kind of contention they need to get their guys back and when I saw buckon he was as big a stud as there is in in the game but if he can't stay on the field it's it's a tough go the fact that he's lasted this long out in center field this season has been remarkable I thought he would flame out within a couple of weeks but uh well you see when he goes to bat what I saw when I saw him in person and I was down low you know in really good seats and he is a very confident hitter very confident and like I said he hit two home runs that day like boom and the one there was no doubt as soon as he hit the ball it was gone I knew it was gone and and and so you have that type of hitter and then Korea is like the scrappy Scrappy hit everything single double triple feel everything and astounding Fielding as well but but that planter fasciitis and that foot he's had bad break both it was one foot last season the other foot this season and and and that was the thing about his contract when he signed with the San Francisco Giants before he came back C up was the damage to his foot and it's kind of showing up now and and I just yeah I I'd hope not I'd hope not but it looks like the thing that's stopping him otherwise I I don't know that's about all I got um little Sage uh my little cousin was uh Devil's Lake played Central in uh JV football and he run the [ __ ] out of him I got all kinds of photos of him and boy he looks like a football player Central gr Forks yeah Grand Forks Central versus Devil's Lake and Devil's Lake beat him in the JV team so oh we need help on though and and no he's got some there's some really good great pictures of him cutting and running with the ball and he's just a little dude you know uh but but he's he's got a spark to him and I actually told him huh you look like a football player there bulking up yeah so there you go Sage I talked about you he was he was asking me if I had any predictions last week and I kind of overlooked him but there you go otherwise that's all I got adios um the brw brothers are on brothers at n yeah Brew Brothers follows up they're getting lots of
