hey everybody great news today AP Top 25 just dropped and the yellow jackets are number 23 yeah yeah yeah yeah I don't even remember the freaking last time we've been ranked man it's been so long it's been so long and a lot of people are you know like so what big deal okay you can say that you can say so what big deal it doesn't affect anything you know if we don't follow through or win our games or whatever else you want to say but it's just freaking cool it's freaking cool uh everybody likes having the number by their name and I hope that you know uh I mean the players have earned it they you know they played really well their past few games and quite honestly look like a top 25 team they look good they look like a really well- coached good team and I'm proud of them and they are in that spot uh especially with how bad you know some of the other teams in the country have looked uh some of them have looked pretty freaking rough and so for the yellow jackets you know handle business the first couple weeks I thought it'd take longer you know I thought like I thought it'd take you know us being 4 and0 because we fly under the radar a lot um when it comes to national attention but hey I said it before everybody was saying it before coach Keen said it before the Florida State game is lot of eyes on that week zero game and uh we had a chance to kind of make a name for ourselves so even with Florida State crapping their pants last night and uh completely embarrassing themselves still enough for the yell jacket to freaking get ranked I am so stoked uh does it affect anything no I mean I would hope not I'd hope that the players you know they were hugely affected by outside stuff like this and outside attention last year they would you know have a great game get a bunch of attention crap them their pants the freaking next week and lose to a team they shouldn't you know it was the Tail's oldest time and I hope that the players stay locked in stay focused and and I'm sure that Brent ke would say the same thing I bet they'll ask him about this in the next press conference and he'll say doesn't matter doesn't matter we got to freaking treat each game as a one game season yada yada yada you know how he talks and um so is there much to say about that um not really so instead of you know ranting and Raven and gloating about us being ranked 23 um I'll just say that I hope that we can keep it up I hope that we you know perform like a top 25 team I know we can be one we got the talent we're um you know we got the coaching and uh we just need to execute we just need to have it mentally this year and get in a winning mindset uh it's something that rebuilding teams struggle with and something we struggled with last year will all those problems be fixed in a year hard to say likely not we'll probably drop a game we shouldn't maybe drop out but you know hopefully we can finish rank two that would be really cool it'd be really cool got Syracuse up this week um so we'll get a chance to kind of uh prove ourselves to I mean everybody thinks Florida State sucks now so we'll get our chance to prove ourselves against maybe some decent competition here uh this week at Syracuse so hopefully we don't lose them and lose our ranking in the same freaking week that we get it that would that would suck but you know now that you know we celebrate yeah we got the 23 next to our name it's freaking exciting it's awesome hang on to it as long as we can um that's great and there's not much else but what I really want to do is kind of step back and you know appreciate how how freaking you know rough the the the path was to get here it's been a really hard past couple years uh I started my channel I started covering the yellow jackets um at the end of the 2020 season and and the first game I ever you know streamed the yellow jackets freaking lost to Northern Illinois a team that hadn't won a single game the year before and it was Jeff Collins's third year and you know we went on to go three and nine that year including just heartbreaking loss after heartbreaking loss humiliations beatdowns and to top it all off we lose the last two games of that season 100 to nothing it was an absolute freaking travesty and I was really down in the dumps I was depressed as hell I came on and I was like man Jeff Collins is clearly not it you know we're we're going to and and what depressed me the most is well we going to have to pay him 13 million to leave and then it was going to take years and years to rebuild if we had hired Willie fris are you kidding me what we wanted to do if we had hired him dude we would have we would have been terrible last year and this year we would still be re look at Houston dude Houston hired him didn't they everybody said we should hire Willie Fritz that would have been a terrible idea but we wound up finding a gym in Brent key and I you know I never thought in a million years at that time that our turnaround would be this quick and I'm not saying we're some kind of great team but a top 25 caliber team I mean that's freaking amazing uh to turn that around and he had an interim season then he had one year and we're on game two of his second full year and he's got us ranked uh nothing short of freaking just mindblowing he did he did I'm telling you when he took over in him in him he literally could not have done a better job he had both he had two quarterbacks go down and still managed to like go on the road and get a rank win 5 and0 versus ranked ACC teams and on the road too it's like it's um it's crazy man it's crazy the turnar around Yellow Jacket football is fun again I'm having fun I haven't had fun since I've got on YouTube last year was the first uh year that I've had fun it was rough man and and I've gone from seeing when I got on YouTube I started my channel okay cuz there was freaking nobody doing it nobody cared about Georgia Tech nobody was talking about Georgia Tech and I got on there and I started talking about us because man I knew this is what we were capable of and we're capable of more than this okay 23 that's you know that's just a stepping stone and where we want to go but man I knew we were capable of being really good I had we have the talent man we have the ability to recruit don't let anybody freaking tell you you can't recruit to Georgia Tech we got a top 25 class right now can't recruit to Georgia Tech I fought off people for years telling me that now they're gone I don't hear from from them anymore uh so they don't got much to say now Georgia Tech is uh everybody's impressed by us I'm impressed and I can't say I'm surprised though I mean after watching I'm surprised overall but after watching us last year you know I knew it was only a matter of time before we start getting national attention and uh just so happened to be in the first couple weeks of the Season here so of course of course I'm freaking stoked on us being ranked I couldn't be happier I couldn't be happier with the way this season has started and I just hope we continue it obviously you get a streak going and you're like oh hell when's the next you know when's it when's it going to break when are we going to drop a game ideally we keep our streak up until Louisville or Notre Dame you know we handle the business against the lower tier teams uh a loss against like Louisville or Notre Dame would be harder to or would be easier to stomach than us freaking doing what we did last year and losing a crappier competition so you know I I am you start to think about that but honestly man I've been around the block here on YouTube and I know how to freaking take a loss so I I can mean I can tell you that you know I've taken plenty of them and we'll survive uh even if we drop the game against Syracuse this week I'm just proud of our team I think that we can have a really good year this year and um I was coming into this year I predicted seven wins you know I knew we were capable I had our ceiling at eight wins um now I think that our ceiling could be nine 10 might be pushing a little bit but our ceiling could be uh in my opinion and nine and hey I think we get to eight or nine wins and uh I'm I'm excited I'm excited so hey just wanted to jump on here and freaking get stoked about the 23 ranking and take a moment to reflect of how far we've come and just a few short years and I didn't think I'd see it I didn't think we'd be relevant or any anything for you know another five years at least you know I thought somebody have to come in burn it all down and start from start over you know but shout out to coach ke and all the staff that he's freaking hired the players they're kicking ass and not only that but the administration we have a reputation of having no buying from the administration not the truth anymore we've got the highest that we ever had so uh that narrative is going to have to go away or else you'll just be wrong uh if you talk about tech and and and try to say that we don't care about football cuz we do now so go jackets uh and I'll see you guys next time
