The wife of the late hockey player, Johnny Gaudreau, is speaking out
after his death following the tragic news that her husband
passed away from a biking accident. Meredith Goodrow releases
an emotional statement to Instagram on August 31st,
paying tribute to Johnny. Writing

Meredith specifically honors Johnny as a loving father,
saying the absolute best dad in the world. So caring and loving. The best partner to go through parenthood
with. John never missed a single appointment. Was the best at putting the baby

Goodrow died after a biking accident. Authorities tell E! News in a statement that the brothers
had been biking along over New Jersey Road late in the evening of August 29th
when they were struck by an oncoming car. Authorities also state that the driver
was, quote, suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and has been charged
with, quote, two counts of death by auto. Following the news, the Columbus Blue
Jackets released their own statement on August 30th, writing,
The Columbus Blue Jackets are shocked and devastated
by this unimaginable tragedy. Johnny was not only a great hockey player,
but more significantly, a loving husband,
father, son, brother and friend. We extend our heartfelt sympathies
to his wife, Meredith, his children, Noah and Johnny,
his parents, their family and friends. On the sudden loss of Johnny
and Matt ending their message with Johnny embraced our community
when he arrived two years ago in Columbus, welcomed him with open arms. We will miss him terribly
and do everything we can to support his family
and each other through this tragedy. Johnny was 31 and Matthew was 29.
