We witnessed the 18th no hitter in Cubs franchise history, the first at Wrigley in September in 72. Who was it? Pets? Oh, yeah, I fourth of this season alone, the year of Shoda and mana damn police that continues when I watch him, you know, this more than me, I feel like he is the perfect Robert side of the perfect temperament. No, not too, not too low. You know, I don't think you could have gone into off season said, ok, the two best free agent signings were going to be Imana and Lugo, they've been the best two free agent signings out there. And I don't even know if the Cubs were getting this version of a guy. They thought they were gonna get a guy that was a strike thrower , but the knock on him was kind of a pitch to contact guy and wasn't gonna give up a lot of home run at Wrigley Field. He's done anything but either one of those things and I think what's really important, he's finishing on a good note, three really good pitches, good fastball that plays up, split finger and good break. The one thing I like about this guy, you see a lot of pitchers that come from Japan, they're a little bit afraid they run away from throwing the fastball. This guy will use his fastball, the bullpen. I thought Nate Pearson was a really good pickup. The blue Jays thought this guy was going to be a front and center guy in their rotation. It didn't happen, but he's been really good big on a big arm coming out of the bullpen. And so the Cubs now they get ninth inning, they get, need to get one more out. And here a simple ground ball. Dansby Swanson, this is an easy play right here. And next thing you know, it's been since 1972. The faithful of the corner Clark and Addison have seen a no hitter, a combined no hitter but a no hitter nonetheless, first pitch strikes. He had 20 of 25 batters for Imana first pitch and, and, and you see a lot of pitchers that come from Japan, they kind of dance around the strike zone. This guy does it, he's aggressive strike one. Why do they run away from the fastball? Because I think a lot of them have the split finger and the breaking ball, the smaller baseball in Japan there, you don't see as many power pitches , a guy like yu Darvish, right guy with a big arm, but he has like seven or eight different pitches. And sometimes with yu Darvish, he has so many pitches you like to see him cut back and maybe use two or three really good ones. This guy is not afraid to use his fastball. Yeah. And, and Lauren, his, his fastball, even August fastball, it's not, it's coming in. It's 97 98 92 94. It's such a good point. And in a combined no hitter, I feel like, and you could see it on the TV, screen, the pitchers feel a responsibility to the guy before it's a complete team effort. So, congratulations to the Chicago Cubs. Yeah, Porter Hotu closed it out 13 consecutive scoreless innings. So once again, congratulations to the Chicago Cubs who are 4.5 back of the final wild card spot in the national league.
