US battling extreme temperatures: California facing wildfires & Louisiana hit by hurricane Francine

the United States is grappling with a double whammy of climate Fury while a part of the country is facing wildfires the other has been hit by a hurricane South California and Nevada are battling raging wildfires on the other side hurricane Franken has hit Louisiana pounding New Orleans with heavy rainfall and Gusty winds in California a wildfire in the Hills near Los Angeles exploded overnight torching dozens of homes as its footprint swelled 1,000% the bridge in fact is one of three outof control blazes that have erupted around the United States second biggest city fueled by a punishing Heat Wave and fmed by gusting winds wildfires have torn down dozens of Mountain Homes destroyed ski resorts forcing 18,000 people to evacuate their homes around 40 homes and cabins are burned in the Villages of Mount BDI and rightwood definitely in recent history this is a fire that has been the most dramatic in terms of growth over a single day period but you had a lot of things coming into alignment you had low relative humidity high winds steep slopes um and just a period of extended high temperatures leading up to this and when all those things come together they can really create a dramatic growth meanwhile Category 2 hurricane Franken left many residents without power while floods threatened The Wider Gulf Coast with a potentially deadly storm surge that led to evacuation orders for thousands of people 2 hours after the land fall the storm was downgraded to category 1 which sustained winds of 140 km per hour and could bring up to 10 ft of storm surge and a foot of rain in some parts of Louisiana the National Weather Services New Orleans office issued a flash flood emergency for the city and nearby districts known as parishes while New Orleans mayor has urged residents to shelter in place to stay up to speed with the latest news download the weon app And subscribe to our YouTube channel
