hey what's happing what's happing what's Happ hey y'all know we got another episode hey and we got another baller on again we got Gage Goldberg listen the man play football the man play baseball look my boy can do it all listen right now just got out of B baseball practice or something to do with baseball and he got a game this week so my boy gets in and hopefully we can get a baseball team at Colorado that'll be right down Gage uh and Coach Prime Aly right there but yo hey I got I'mma tell y'all I seen a clip on him in high school well that's where you at anyways but listen I seen a clip he was running downhill bust a lineman and then made the tile I said well God D hey I ain't have to see no more I knew EX exctly what type of player we getting at the gate you knock a linan off they feet I'm talking about the L y'all the linan coming around the corner he just having him a good old time well this just G to be a normal block I'm gonna run over me a uh a DB out here and then you see Gage come by I know the linan probably said oh boom and then he just lifted up and flew over but without further Ado I'm bringing Gage Goldberg on hey I know y'all want to know everything else about it man we F to bring him on the find out hey it's game time y'all hey Gage man what's happening man I mean nothing much I'm just amazed I'm just glad to be on the show for sure listen man it bro it's a blessing to have you on man so I I want to talk about what you got going on right now so you just got out of what baseball practice or something to do with baseball and you got a game what two days yes sir we got a game Thursday and Friday and if we win both of them then we go the next round of playoffs so is it's win and stay in or lose and go home yes sir okay okay now what position you play in baseball I'm a catcher you catcher now when you get on when you get the hit you nice like that or you all right I mean I love hitting that's my favorite part of baseball that's why I'm still playing okay okay okay all right all right all right now how now tell me this cause see I don't play baseball now I will play catch but now when they throwing that ball like a rocket see I use my right hand right and they in they say in baseball you got to put the glove on the opposite hand you throw with the hand you throw it and then catch with OPP hand right well I would prefer catching with my right so I I guess that's why I never be out there but when they throwing that ball that fast at my face I I can't stand there just like it seem like I would have to do that so when did you even get in the baseball for the for the ball to fly at your face and you ain't worried about it I mean I've been playing catcher since I was like five even at I mean we still had we had Machine Pitch so I mean it it it feels like the same speed but obviously it's like 30 miles per hour when you're a little kid yeah but it still feels super fast but I mean you just get used to it over time and it just comes with the experience and then once you get up to seeing like pitcher throwing 99 it's crazy and all but I mean after like a month or two you'll get used to it so you don't none of that just bother you get out there and do your thing man so you've been playing football and baseball the whole time or you did other stuff as well well I mean I've been playing baseball since I've been since I was five and then football I just started a freshman year of high school hey y'all y'all heard it so you fresh in the game well not fresh but because I had a cousin that also you know played in the neighborhood or whatever but officially putting it on it was ninth grade and he bowled out how you balling now so I get that what now what made you not get into pass until ninth grade I mean my dad he' never let me play football I mean um I played a little bit of flag football in eighth grade when I lived in California but when I moved to Texas strictly strictly I'm playing football like I'm I made my dad I forced him let me play again yeah he locked in with you yes sir now the high school that you in now that's the high school you've been at the whole time yes sir now what what grade did you actually make it to Varsity all you played from day one I mean I was scout team freshman year um freshman year I was scout team for Varsity when we went to playoffs but then I was back up sophomore year on varsity and then I mean I got a little bit of playing time and then Junior and Senior year starter took off like a rocket now in Texas we listen Texas football Georgia football Cali football Florida football we we locked in now in Texas y'all got a whole different yeah it's like it's a family far as the college coaches to the uh High School coaches like they all make sure everybody good so with you playing in Texas did you play in one of the biggest conference or one of the smallest conference we played in the second biggest so there's 6A football there's 5A football and it goes all the way down to 1A we were 5A so we still we played a lot of competition couple of four stars couple of five stars like we had we had everyone out there getting now with you being on baseball and football how you get yourself ready man because football season I know they had two different seasons but how how do you just lock in and train with one then switch over and go to training for the other I mean there's never I mean during football season I was only training strict strictly football because like at the end of our summertime in junior year I knew I was playing football I knew I was going that route yeah so um I stuck straight straight to football and in baseball season I'm still getting a workout every day for football and I'm getting outside doing conditioning and getting ready for football for Colorado yeah I'm just I'm doing as much as I can right now so I can be prepared for the altitude and get ready for the speed of college football now most players if they get a chance at line now I know bigger high schools like somebody high schools locally they they big time so you only playing on one side of the ball but with you being that middle linebacker you could also play like a running back or tight end did you do any offense I mean I played a little a little bit of tight end freshman year but that was that was about it you just locked in that linebacker and called it a day yes sir now when your dad saw you getting into football and taking it more serious did he say son I'mma train you all like hey I just tell you what you need to know and I'll let the coaches just do the coaching for you oh no he said he said he's gonna train me from day one he was so happy when I first put on that helmet and I started hitting people yeah I loved it he loved it and he said that he was going to train me like right as soon as the cleats hit the turf he's training me 100% all the time so y'all be there working out together then yes sir every night oh so your daddy still just putting that work in oh yeah every night he is d man that's good man that's good cause my dad ain't gonna live no weights none at all but see I am going to stay in shape long enough when my son start lifting cuz my son about 10 about to be yeah 10 so when he get ready to live weights I'm be ready for him too but I I like that man so you committed to Alabama like how did that process go because I seen you with Duke on I seen you with a lot of stuff and then your dad went to Georgia so how you ended up picking Alabama because you could have picked Georgia as well so how you ended up getting to that point yes sir so I never like verbally committed to Alabama but it was my number one and I was about to I um I think Sab retired on a Wednesday and I was gonna I was going to commit that Thursday yeah and I look at my I was we were in a baseball scrimmage and I look at my phone Nick Sabin retired I had to be in like the worst news I've ever gone in my entire life at that point right and um I was so disappointed but then I had to so I had to see if the coaches were going to reoffer me well at first I had to see what coach was going to come in and replace him and I didn't know that yet and then um so I still had Duke I still had UTSA UCF and like I I just immediately I reached out to all those programs and I was like okay is my offer still there and like I'm just okay so like it might have been one of those programs and then Colorado came came around and they offered me and I'm like okay I I I I committed an hour later so hold on hold up now you done hit all the schools up then Colorado so how Colorado got into it like you called him they called you or your dad talk to coach Prime cuz I know they got history so how that went down I mean my dad go ahead go ahead my dad talked to Coach Prime after so he said he told Coach Prime I was gonna commit to Alabama and he's like okay well if you want him right now is the time and he he he eventually offered me about like an hour or two later and I'm like okay well this is my chance I'm taking it right now because I lost Alabama I lost my chance at Alabama yeah I'm taking this I'm snatching up immediately asy out what what made you want to play with Coach PR have you ever met him beforeand or what I mean I've never met him so far but my dad he played on the Falcons with them they're like pretty much best friends yeah and so I mean if if he's a best friend of my dads then I trust I trust him to be a great coach and I mean I already know he's he's making his history in the coaching world right now and he's the guy to play for right now he is man and history is truly getting made so when do you actually get to go to Colorado what day do you report because you know in Florida we get out of school at the end of May and I heard in Michigan they uh start in September get out in June so when do you actually get out of school in Texas I I get out of school May 23rd and I report May 25th oh boy you out of there oh yeah okay now back to baseball I gotta go back to baseball you win this these next two uh days uh Thursday and Friday right uh Wednesday and Thursday either way you win this weekend what is this week how many more rounds to the chill I mean there's only there's three more rounds after this and we me so the reason I'm playing baseball right now is because we went to State last year and we ended up losing it and we're a better team this year and so I had to stick with it and we're going to State this year 100% so if we win these next three rounds we're going to stay at then I gotta stay here hey I want you to win I want you to get that state rain now the next two days is that considered round one and two or that's just one round that's just one round okay and then they'll probably follow in the next week and then the next week like y y yes sir okay okay cool Gage man I want you to Win It I Hey listen I want why why not finish it why not come to school with that fat rang on chilling man yes sir EX on that baseball team what was it how many seniors on the squad um I think we have eight this year eight okay I like that I like that I like that man uh now with your time coming to an end in Texas how you feel man like really F to actually get into this this college ball but you really getting closer and closer to being your own man like out there really doing your thing man how does that feel because I know your your dad played at Georgia your dad played at Atlanta your dad is the WWE Hall of Fame man you know what's crazy I watched it I don't know if it came on a& or something but I'm sitting at my mama house and I'm just watching these wrestling stores and it it was encouraging because it seemed like every wrestling Story the dudes was struggling trying to make it and then they'll keep going keep going have a bunch of ups and downs keep going keep going and Bam it take off well one of the episodes I'm talking about clearly I didn't know you and I I don't watch wrestling like that now I have in my younger days but as I got older I didn't never watch but my Georgia my Georgia family they loved it so I would see some things of it so when your I think an episode came on with your dad and I'm like I'm just watching the episode now I don't know you nor him I'm just watching boom and I'm watching his story and he's like yeah y'all I um retired then I came back because I wanted to show my son and then I'm sitting thinking because I'm last night I'm getting stuff said I'm like hold on I think this I was watching the show by y'all so that was you that he came back for and then showed you he could do his thing and then so what made you actually want Pops to come out and just show you he get down like that I mean it was his decision he wanted to he wanted me to see him in wrestling and I mean so okay he ended up retiring right when I was born so I never got to experience it yeah and um he just wanted me to see him in his prime and he came back kicked some ass and then he showed me he definitely showed me for sure and he just wanted his son to be proud of him for sure hey man he did that listen iy I was excited about the whole story but last night it hit me like bro I watched the story on your pops and you and didn't realize it till last night because you know you just looking at TV I'm just watching a bunch of documentaries on the uh the wrestling people in wrestling like I seen the one on yeah never mind I I just watched a bunch of wrestling ones and it was good I was like do because it made me feel good like man you just got to keep going and keep going and keep going so with you being in football and your dad watching you put in that work he seeing you put in that work he telling you son keep going what what's your dreams because your background you don't H you don't act some people don't have to be hungry when the situation set up right you didn't have to be hungry for for no Sports you could have laid back and chill like d I'm good I'm good I'm I'm good but what made you so hungry that you know what I'm I'm I'mma Be the Best in baseball I'm so hungry I'm be the best in football what put that hunger in you like that I mean that's always just been the dream since day one go D1 either for baseball or football baseball didn't work out football it did and I mean I'm just gonna pursue that as long as I can and um I'm tired of being that one guy like oh my God his dad's this guy this famous guy he'll never live live up to it and I'm like I'm gonna prove him wrong show him that I'm gonna be that guy and I'm gonna try to strive to be better than him boy I love Hey listen you gonna do your thing man it's it's already set for you to ball like I know you gonna ball it's it and I read something on you where you said um he done built the Legacy and you gonna jump off his shoulders with it that's what you supposed to do and check this out when you jump off his shoulders you all soon as you jump you done went past his head so you g pass that you g pass that man so I'm excited for you to get to Colorado and take out Ling like you was doing bro when the first L you you take out I hope I'm there for it I hope I'm hope I'm there for it and you whatever kick all team at the linebacker spot whatever I want to see and I want to say yeah like I just want to see because I know when that when you hit that line I know he ain't see it coming because he going and it's that last second that like ah he ah I hope he don't do it too bad boom and you just you just lifted the boy up and then made the title when you did that what you was thinking like this that's just what you do that's a normal day being gag Goldberg out there I mean yes sir it's my job I mean I got to blow up the lineman and then I got to get to the running back it was my job to do it and um it felt it felt amazing after the play I'm like oh my God I just leveled that guy and then made the tackle I stopped the first down from being converted I mean it was just just felt awesome man you blessed man you bless listen I want you again to dominate in in in baseball get there do your thing I want you to win the state but as soon as you get to Colorado excuse me what have you and your dad talked about like man are you and your friends like bro when I get there man I'm just go to work I'm ready to uh meet the coaching staff or you know coach Mo and all them in the weight room like want to be one of the strongest in the weight room want to be you know what's your mindset going into this I mean I'm just I'm G to try to get up there as soon as I can especi especially if we make it far far in baseball I'm like immediately after baseball season is over I'm getting up there I'm getting in that weight room I'm training every single day to get ready for this season summer workouts are going to be amazing I can't wait I can't wait to meet all my teammates there gonna be my family for the next four years and I just can't wait to make it happen now I know you young cuz I ain't even know what I want to do for the college degree until remember I told you a cousin started playing ball ninth grade like you did well I called him they they told me I was at the end of my sophomore year and they said hey uh they said hey you gotta pick you a major and I was like pick a major what you mean so I remember looking at Majors on TV like you'll see Peter Ward political science uh another person political science or another person sociology or another person uh communication so I never had a real true major that I was seeking I just want to play football and I wanted to try to go to the NFL so I called him and I was like Hey cuz they told me I gotta pick a major man listen uh I know some of the things I I on mind studying what which one I can get and get up out of college because I want to get in and get out I ain't trying to get stuck so he gave me some names of them and I picked the one that had best suited me so do you already have right now major you want to pick or you just gonna go with the flow and pick one as as you get closer yes sir my my uh my major is real estate right now and I'm I'm gonna stick in that business pathway okay so you locked in so now you got now now you got me wan to know a little bit now so you gonna get into real estate are you somewhat are you somewhat kind of in it now like you know somebody you might have an uncle or your dad might be in it or you know are you somewh County in it now you just watching it from afar I mean I'm I'm I'm in and out okay I about say say what you can say without saying too much I mean I'm definitely sticking with the academic side too like you got to be passing to be an athlete so I think academics part is definitely a high priority right but then also sticking with that football team is a bigger priority because it there's the ways the pros and cons because right you have be passing to play but then you also got to be playing so to make it all make sense for you yes sir are you a film I know you I know you gonna say yeah but are you a person that really just lock in and be looking at that film like my business partner that play linebacker middle linebacker like you he locked in on that film but me playing DB in college bro I was studying that film like that I I know that's I shouldn't have been like that but but I went studying it and it's probably why I didn't make it but he was locked in and basically like he was like a hair from getting into the NFL are you one of those film type where you just in there locking in and learning everything yes sir I'm locked in right now I'm I've been stunning film almost every day trying to get as as ready as I can for Colorado yeah and then in high school my dad and I would watch film every single night before the game leading up to it and I mean that was definitely a key part because we'd watch the film every night coming up to the game we'd watch every game they played and then after the game that night we'd watch the film from the game critique everything and then we go on right to the next week the next day now what kind of blessing it is for you man CA yes your dad is the man in wrestling but he also made it to the league man that's what you want so how does that feel like that you actually went to the league uh I'm I want to make it to the league like he could give you all the ins and outs of it so what them conversations like man I mean he has all the experience there is to get and I mean I just listen to him as much as I can try to absorb all the information and he's been there done that so I mean I I I it's my job to listen to him and um he just gives me like everything I need every question I have he'll answer it whether it takes like a day to answer or whether it's just a quick little little answer but I mean I ask him a lot of questions and he answers every single one of them well man I'm not gonna hold you any longer man I know you just got out of practice I I I know you locked in and ready to go home and and do what you do all you probably already at the CRI about to go in so I ain't gonna hold you uh technically T said col is still the best interviewer I appreciate it hey man hey appreciate it man hey Gage man I thank you for coming on man I'm so excited for you to get up there but I'm not in the rush for you to make it just yet cuz you got some unfinished business in that baseball world man uh I'm ready for you to get up there and do your thing man may
