Texas Football Ranked #4 In Coaches Poll. Too High? Oklahoma Fans Thing So (Obviously)

3 2 1 go there's not one guy one person in the history of this program that's bigger than the program what's better than this guys being dudes real fast we're we're not going to spend a lot of time on Texas between now and the Texas game probably we'll throw barbs in there like we'll have fun I'm troubled by them at four they lost every offensive skill position player of note every single one they've still got Kelvin Banks they've got plenty of guys on defense still I understand all of that but I think that a team replacing all of those dudes that struggled against Baylor last season should not be ranked number four in the country probably still ahead of Oklahoma I can grant that I can get there you know from a national standpoint but four is crazy to me and Oregon at three I love Dylan Gab he's not going to get him all the way no Mason do your famous chant that you do every year about Texas being too highly regarded in the preseason because you do this every year yeah give to us he said chant but rant I think is what he meant and uh yeah I was like potato potato tomato potato yeah but what you really didato yeah yeah again again you said tomato potato like for real that is exact L it because they're different words uh look we know we know what this is it's it's the same thing every year right and yes Mark is correct they lost those guys and they but people are going to say oh well you returned Quinn ERS and when he was healthy Quinn ERS was arguably the best quarterback in the country and through three weeks of the season I would have agreed with you but the season isn't 3 weeks long and I don't think that they got the horses that they think they do I don't think you lose Xavier worthy chaven Sanders I don't Gordon yeah I don't think two running backs Keen Robinson Jordan Brooks exactly sorry I just like I think it's a lot you knew those names better than I did I'm glad you jumped in so the to lose all those guys and to just be like like oh yeah this is definitely the number four team in the country there's just no way man there's no way I'll I'll give you if you want a top 10 team sure for sure I I'll give you a top 10 if that's what you want they made the playoff last year they they deserve a little bit of credit I guess but let us not forget if you think this Oklahoma team is the 16th ranked team in the country this is the same Oklahoma team for the most part that physically dominated Texas in front of everybody and now that Texas team is arguably worse and this Oklahoma team is arguably better so where where are we at I I don't I don't know I agree with you Mark I don't know how we get here but we're here every year and I always tell myself I'm not going to let myself get bothered by it but I am I am bothered by it because again they won the Big 12 and credit to them for winning the Big 12 but they won it in not great fashion I just I don't I don't get it go ahead Martin yeah I was just going to throw a little compare contrast here between Texas and Oklahoma in 2023 Quinn yers threw 394 passes at a 69% clip nice for 3479 yards and 2 two touchdowns six interceptions Dylan Gabriel for the 10- win Oklahoma Sooners throws 384 passes 10 less for at a 69.3% clip even nicer more yardage eight more touchdowns same number of interceptions and we think we're upgrading at quarterback along with a lot of continuity with the guys who at least were there last season in practice doing stuff with Jackson Arnold who is stepping up right Quinn eers hasn't played with all of his starters Arch Manning was taking the snaps with the twos last season there's just some replacement stuff that has to happen there that I'll be intrigued to see Pat anything to add before we move on no love it all good points perfect let us know Down Below in the comments what you thought oh you 16 in the coach's poll uh first one uh let us know your thoughts we read every single one of your comments folks okay 3 2 1 there's not one guy one person in the history of this program that's bigger than the program what's better than this guys being dudes
