hey everyone day six of being up in Big Bear during the line fire and giving you guys an update so as you can see we're in Sugarloaf and the smoke has really rolled in here the fire is nowhere near Sugarloaf and I don't think that we are going to go over a level two evacuation which is just a warning but H El the winds could shift at any moment today is definitely the worst day for air quality that we had yet I know one of the issues that people are talking about on Facebook is looting um I guess I saw a Facebook post that people are looting in Sugarloaf which is crazy to me if that's true so we're driving into Big Bear City and I'm going to drive through the village if I can I can already tell you it looks totally apocalyptic it is 3:41 and this is 911 and I the last I heard the fire was 2 miles outside of Boulder Bay it looks like the gas stations are still full with gas which is good but as you can see there's hardly anybody left up here for those of us who are up here we're relying on the watch Duty app uh Facebook uh YouTube and the fire updates that come from the sheriff and the the firefighters so as you guys can see the smoke is like nothing we've ever seen in the past week and a half of this fire starting it is orange Skies ashes falling it's it just looks like the apocalypse so this is the lake this is the lake view and you can see you can't see the lake do not go outside if you're up here if you are still on the mountain and you need an iced coffee McDonald's still has coffee and it's open all right so we're going into the village and it looks like everybody because of the evacuation order I believe it extends this far to be mandatory but it's like a ghost town there's all the the stores and restaurants and everything are closed because of the smoke and the fact that the fire is growing closer to Boulder Bay but firefighters said this morning morning and an update that they're hopeful that it's not going to reach there I've never seen uh the village have absolutely nobody in it maybe during Co it looked like this but I wasn't up here this is just it's heartbreaking because I know Running Springs is is really under major threat of their homes and structures but again firefighters are hopeful and no structures have been damaged because our firefighters are so amazing but they're hopeful that it's not going to get to any homes in Running Springs or any other area so that's good news so here we're coming up to the Village at Big Bear Boulevard and when you turn right literally where is that past the snow Bear Lodge they've closed the road you can't get down this way at all I'm going to go ahead and just turn around I just want to show you guys you can't go down you can come out but you can't go down so it's even closed right here all right
