[Music] A Place in the Sun presenter Johnny Irwin lost his battle with cancer in February 3 years after he was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer his wife Jessica who fell for Johnny in 2015 has now opened up for the first time about her beloved husband's final moments Jessica explained that she had been caring for Johnny 50 at home with the support of nurses after his health decline she described his death as cruel because of how quick it was adding that she was still thinking this can't be it as his mind was sharp just days before he died Jessica tearfully told Hello magazine two weeks before had been playfully giving me grief for something so I was still trying to get him to make plans and telling him off when I felt he was being negative now I wonder did he know that's what makes me really really really sad when I think what must have been going through his mine Jessica who admits she was in denial about Johnny's death also revealed an exchange between their oldest son Rex five and Johnny shortly before the end she recalls Rex going into Johnny's room and kissing him on the hand leading Jess to believe her son knew something wasn't right Johnny and Jess met through mutual friends in 2015 and married the following year in a romantic ceremony in North umberland the couple had three children together Rex five and three-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac they were happily married for 7 and 1/2 years the mom of three posted a photograph of her and Johnny before his health battle and said the family's grief is immeasurable she concluded as we remember the Beautiful Moments shared with Johnny let us celebrate a life well- lived and a legacy that will forever be etched in our hearts Johnny may be gone from our sight but his love laughter and memories will live on rest in peace dear Johnny you will be dearly missed but never [Music] forgotten for
