welcome to Bear Nation s t Hansen field on the campus at Central valy High School thanks and again for joining on the stream this year your friends at centr valy high school this is the YouTube channel where you'll see most all sports all season long and we want to thank our technicians producer would be Kevin egland and his assistant is Kaden Angus I'm Dwayne barnhard along with Michael let's talk about tonight's match up well I think we're just glad that we have football again going to have football for the next 7 to8 weeks for some teams even longer but uh a lot has happened in the off seon uh since the end of the spring Sports here around uh the state of Washington the wa just completed a new uh just completed the reclassification process and we do have quite a few changes to cover with where schools are in that classification and where they'll be for the next four years uh more to note uh joining the 4A ranks this year will be me and Ferris they'll be joining gona prep and LS and Clark and if you didn't hear the name Central Valley that's because the Bears are now competing in the 3A ranks along with their opponent tonight Mount Spokan and their district rals ridgel line and u high and we also have Shadow Park bumping up into the 3A classification this year so uh a lot of changes in the classifications but also some changes in the football rosters which we'll get to uh throughout the game uh tonight captains are in the middle of the field for the Bears that would be number 13 Camden lere number 22 Bo Butner number 58 skyl Hardy and number 45 benen beard beautiful night tonight a warmish one for September in beautiful Spokane Valley and verdale not often that we get these warm weather games this early in the season relax in front of your computer screen your phone or wherever you happen to be watching us tonight and feel free free to tell others the whole family about the central ballet bear YouTube channel so the winners of the toss have deferred let's see who's going to get the [Music] [Applause] ball one toss will get the ball to start after Mountan deferred the toss and then we'll get the we'll get to look at the Central Valley offense in this 2024 season first on the field assuming that everything goes their way on the kickoff bears are led by number 10 tough Ryan at quarterback number 22 Bo Butner at running back wide receivers Kaden Adams Branson Olen cin lanfier and trist Pam on the line Isaiah Smith Preston Thorne Ben Hampton Rex vanhees and Isaac plunet for Mount Spokan starting defense Bion a junior number 51 Payton day number 72 Lance Ary Jace pangal linen and Brendan Hughes inside linebackers Bron SS Logan Daw cornerback for Mount Spokane Cody user safeties are Quincy malakas and Mason Shaw and at cornerback senior Jason Bonnet bears are coached by Bo Butner Wildcats are coached by Terry CL two of the fine and respected head coaches in the GSL and I think we're ready to kick it off for Mount Spokan that would be number nine Hunter mcke he's a senior and one thing to watch on this kickoff that we saw a lot of last year as we saw the centralal Special Teams and in particular Bo Butner run a bunch of these kickoffs back for Touchdown so right off the path for his kickoff it's going to be interesting to see if the Wildcats kick deep the buttoner or try something shorter even kick it away uh to prevent the opening kickoff of the Season being run back but that's going to be something that the Bears are hoping to capitalize and take on into this season is to find special teams play on the kickoff so it's what we've been waiting for for months kickoff for the first GSL game at s t Hansen field it's a deep one out of the end zone so it'll be first and 10 Central Valley at the 20 well that's one way to prevent Bo Butner from being a threat on the kickoff is just kick it out of the end zone as we mentioned quarterback's number 10 tough Ryan Butner will be in the back field and wide receivers Adams Olen and lere and Tristan pulling on the line tackles are Isaac plunet Isaiah Smith guards Preston fling Rex van he in the center Ben Hampton 10 of those 11 starters seniors for the Bears the lone Junior on the offensive line is Isaac plunket so pretty exper pretty experienced Offensive start starting lineup for the Bears on offense not all of them though have had a lot of Varsity start so that'll be interesting to watch but the big thing I'm interested to see is how Bo Butner does at the running back position getting more snaps on the offensive end this year first down is a pass and it is complete that's from Ryan to number 11 for the Bears Tristan Pam 63 200 lb senior Good Karma on the first play of the [Music] game so as you can see we have the uh downs and yards to go nice display there producer Kevin and Kaden little movement before the [Applause] [Music] snap it is the first game of the year for the officials so they'll make sure that they have the call down before we see the signal looks like it'll be against Mount Spokan yeah and that encroachment penalty is going to give the Bears a first down and every coach will probably tell you these F that they played Jam Brees they've done scrimmages before this first game but you can never simulate the speed of play in a real game the first week so that'll be interesting to see how both teams handle it on these first couple drives in motion and taking the ball Camden lere he's around the corner car another first down for the Bears tackle is by number three Brighton SS for the Wildcats look at that blocking nice one by Butner another one just ahead that'll take the BS up to the 46 also good Vision by lanfier to read those blocks and find the right hole and get him up the field sometimes we see players string that out a little bit too far to the side but Lanier getting a good job getting up the field right away and the pitch to Butner change of Direction up the middle by number 22i game and on the tackle for the wild cats number 38 Logan Daw is a junior for the both these programs very much respected tough matchup for both teams to start out the 2425 football season great to have you here on the Central Valley YouTube channel little high on the step Ryan handles it well but pass just through the hands of Tristan pulum and I could see number eight for the wild cats in the rear viw mirror there so that might have hurried the throw just a little bit that would be Brendan Hughes third down and long we're in the first quarter just started here at s t Hansen field Central Valley Bears hosting the Mount Spokane [Music] Wildcats here's in the no huddle Ryan looks down the middle just a little bit off Target that one intended for Branson Olsen Branson a 6' [Music] senior fourth down for the Bears at just about Midfield well going back to that third down play we did see some times last year where the Bears did have some trouble catching the ball in some key situations and right there with that pass not necess wasn't the not necessarily uh the greatest throw by tough Ryan but again hitting the receiver in the hands and we saw a lot of times last year where in just the key situations uh the receivers unable to come up with those passes and if the are going to have more success this year on the offensive side of the football uh that's something that's that's going to need to uh improve compared to years past and you can see on that drive that put him in a third and long that against Mount Spokane even with some new starters on defense you don't want to be in third along against these guys Bo Butner not always predictable that Bo will kick but he'll take a look and boot it downfield this time of around that takes a valy bounce downed by number 43 Jake young hold on we got a flag on the play though back in the back field down by number 43 Jake young that's way back up the field it's right back where Butner kicked the ball so there is the possibility that it could be a bear first down well that's all going to depend as if this was a running penalty or did we actually have Bo getting rough which actually would come with an automatic first down and the Bears would keep the and the Bears would end up keeping a possession but if it's just running that could change the calculus a little bit because you got a great punt there by Butner which put M count on their own five but does coach Butner decide to take five and decide to put the offense back out on the field one what would be a fourth and three from uh Mount ban side of the 50 yd line and it looks like based on where the officials are spotting the ball uh coach Butner is going to take the Great hon trust his defense uh to go on the field so this will be our first look at the Mount Spokane offense led by the quarterback number seven rer Tweety he's a senior Alex CLA and Jason Bonnet rece receivers in the slot you'll see number 10 Mason Shaw number 12 Quincy malakas and the running back with Tweety number three Brion ARS he's a senior [Applause] so if you're just joining us one possession the Bears punt deep into Mount Spokane territory in motion that's malakas a handoff to number three Brighton a his first touch tonight by number and what's going to be interesting on this first drive for the wild C offense is Mount Spokan lost a lot of key guys this offseason at graduation including two First Team all GSL offensive players and a second Team all all GSL player how do they replace those pieces and how does that look on the first drive that includes TJ Haberman at quarterback M seanu Tristan olssen all three guys made all GSL last year all needing to be replaced this year Well is tipped looks like it might in number 24 for Val yeah look like on the replay looks like that was that was Skyler Hardy number 58 getting his pow in the air there he was a second Team all GSL player last year on the defensive line just as a as a as a as a sophomore he's got a great motor he'll be coming after him the entire game Hardy was one of the few sophomores to actually make an all GSL team last year second team on defense the snap by Lance Ary Senior Center [Applause] pass downfield is incomplete that was intended for Alex CL in on the coverage for the Bears included Kaden landfair number 13 and I think we just saw there why coach Butner when there was that penalty on the running end of the punter why he decided to just take the kick and lot of lot of trust in that defense to not allow a first down there with Mount Camp backed up to their own five and now the Wildcats are going to have to punt out of their own end zone Ryan Jones was also in on the coverage for the Bears and Hunter mcke number nine the senior will punt away for the Wildcats that was close nice high punt though and on the fair catch Bears will have excellent territ or excellent field position that looked like Bo Butner almost got in and blocked that kick but did end up probably affec the distance of it as the Bears will get the ball on the mountains cam 48 and a good job and a good job there by Camden lere keeping his eyes on that ball and fair catching that thing because from our view that thing went a mile in the air and I'll tell you what those those High punts those are not very easy to catch even when you fair Catch and know that you get that kicker protection uh those are never an easy thing to pull off so on the four and out great job by the bear defense tough Ryan and the offense back on the field first and 10 hand off is to Butner nice move up the middle before he's finally brought down let's take a look actually uh he broke through three smok hand tack three Mount smok hand Tack and we saw a lot of this last year when Butner got his opportunity to run the ball and that's why this year he's going to be more of a primary focus on the offensive maybe not see him as much on defense but maybe hoping that he can provide a lot more of those runs throughout the game just playing on one side of the ball stop on that last play by Mason Shaw for the Wildcats on this play completed passing nice run after by Camden L here the six one senior for the Bears it'll be another bear first down no yes it will he's just past the marker again in on the stop Mason Shaw the senior wild cat Bear's moving down the field Steady As She Goes at the 26 again if you're just joining us first quarter second possession for the bear [Music] offense we got two split wide Butner in motion he gets the pass from Ryan cross the 25 by number two already can see by the uh already can see in this game on the offensive side it being a real Focus to get Butner involved in these offensive plays and I think the Wildcats also know that too so after running a couple ways to Butner it's going to be key that some other bear players step up and take some of that Focus away so that you that so that they're able to set up Butner for what could be a big play or two throughout the game again in the no huddle tough Ryan looks to the sideline for the call Snap and the run again to Butner up the middle find some running room again the speed and quickness of Bo Butner wow nice Tackle by Mount Spokan number 12 Quincy malakas and it's a good thing malakas was there because that hole opened that big hole opened up very fast and Butner didn't waste time hitting it and if not from bicast he already be in the end zone with the first touchdown of the year for the bears but a good tackle there the Bears threatening Ryan across the middle and the first touchdown of the year for Camden L here the Bears are on the board Kevin's got the and this is a great read by tough Bryan on that you can see the Wildcats did not have anybody deep on the goal line he pretty much knew where the pass was going here he got the snap G lampier is time to run his in route and then put it right on target lampier does the rest break and a tackle and into the end zone Great pre- snap read There by Brian to help lead to that first touchdown of the year for the Bears and honestly Mason Shaw really had no choice but to maybe just punch at the ball it was a well thrown pass a well run route bears are on the board Tyler Bissell in to add the extra point holding is Joe Rock and the kick is good bears are on the board first quarter of the first GSL game here at SD Hansen field thanks for joining us on the Central Valley YouTube channel 736 La first quarter Cal Valley 7 [Music] [Applause] [Music] Z we want to a special moment to recognize construction and of credit their generous support of scho is appreciated so much thank you to Baker Construction credit for the incredible support you're provided these two businesses are in a way [Music] [Applause] [Music] direct once again on the central valet YouTube channel live at s Hansen field in beautiful verdale Washington you've got the barnarts Dwayne and Michael with engineer Kevin and Kaden beautiful night for football and it's always a beautiful night when the Bears score first feel free to add your comments and uh share the Central Valley YouTube site with your friends and relatives we want to make sure everybody around the world is able to enjoy Central Valley Bear football on YouTube again Tyler Bissell Will T it up Tyler put it in the end zone a couple of times and there again it'll be first and 10 at the 20 for Mount Spokan at halftime and throughout this evening's telecast we're going to be talking about be Nation donation it's that time of year again and this is one of the few high school programs with such a great bear booster program that we can do all our Don drives in one one time of year and for all activities in athletics and we'll tell you how you can get involved and your generosity will be much appreciated here come the Wildcats their second possession led by rer Tweety the senior quarterback great NS and Mason Shaw gets the carry a host of bears in on the stop it looks like it was Liam Reen first on the pile the 62 Junior defensive Line2 I've been told that when it's 85° it's more like 95° when you're on the turf oh yeah that 85 that turf's probably going around 95 or even reaching triple digits if you're down on that field it's great for all weather but it doesn't breathe like real real cold grass second and 10 out [Applause] Spokan and we'll pick up five yds Skyler thought he knew that they were going to snap it so the wild cats have capitalized on that with a first and [Applause] five again we genuinely appreciate our officials and uh they're doing a great job tonight making sure everything gets right and uh this is their first regular season game so well done men and women in Stripes second and [Music] five and the handoff goes up the middle and again a host of bears in on the stop including number 53 Corbin Harrison [Music] and it was Skyler Hardy who kind of steered that one the other direction yeah but you got to think that encroachment penalty on second and 10 made that play call a little easier for the Wildcats to go up the Middle with that run as they now have created themselves a third and short maybe a little bit of a different play call Second and 10 but again both teams committing an encroachment penalty pre- snap for before the balls being snapped tonight big play for both teams bears would like to stop them in their own ter the wild cats need their first first down and it's tough going up the middle it looks like the initial hit [Applause] there was by number 42 for Central Valley Conor Mon and it looked like that ball got to the 29 yd line but they needed the 30 for a first down so that's going to create a fourth in one and I don't see any sign of the mount Spokan special teams out there and now look like we have a last minute last minute change probably no fourth and one it get it gets pretty you get I mean it's pretty you really want to kind of go for it in that case but in I guess you kind I guess you can kind of say that coach CL would have the itch to kind of go for it on fourth and one but then you got to think about the field position again in this case on your own 29 if you don't get it and it looked like even the Bears were a little confused there which is why we see the timeout first time out of the game so while we have a little extra time it is a big September chocked full of be Nation activities so naturally the uh leadoff game of the season here at home versus Mount Spokane next Friday we're heading to University for the greasy Pig followed on the 20th another home game versus the me Panthers want to everyone to remember and Mark this on your calendar on September 27th versus Ferris that will be our wall of fame inductions you'll see some of the be greats inducted into our wall of fame again that's on September 27th during the ferris game and you know I haven't even talked about homecoming that was the uh week of the meat game on the 20th looks like the wild cats have chosen to punt well they're in punt formation but again fourth and one you always got to be aware of the fake no matter where you are on the field when you only have a yard to gain Hunter mcke will boot it oh and this time B Butner got a hold of it he lands up did the Bears get it before it went out of bounds ah well they're still looking and it looked like the the ball went out of the back of the enzone you can see Butner didn't know where he had it and there's a mad Scramble for it but unfortunately I mean unfortunately for the Bears they couldn't Jump On It In The End Zone but they'll still now they're going to talk about it that was a great replay the extension of the end zone here we go back to those orange flags and I just don't think they were sure if it got past the end line so the officials will talk it over well I think what they're trying to talk about is did someone on that Central Valley team have clear possession of the ball and then maybe lose it and then it went out the back which if they clearly possessed and a knee was down it would be a touchdown but if there was never clear possession and it went out the back that worst case it would be a safety but we're going to get the official confirmation here and it's going to be a safety for it's going to be a safety for the bear so uh in one way you don't I mean you're disappointed you don't get the touchdown but you get the two points on the safety and guess what the Wildcats you're going to have to kick the ball off to you so a great start for the Bears they opening GSL game here at home versus Mount Spokan touchdown on the last possession a block by Bo Butner on the punt and two points on the safety great to have you along 5 minutes away from the end of the first quarter it's been all bears on the Central Valley YouTube [Music] channel coach Butner will get the receiving team up to date because it is a safety so you have the option of uh either putting it on the te or putting it right correct uh that is correct and most team most kickers in in this case would usually choose to punt the ball but it looks like in this case uh we're going to put the ball on the te and just kick it [Music] off interested to know if just throughout the week if the Bears noticed something on that side of the mounts will can uh punt protection because that's the second time butner's gone through really without being blocked and first time he had a close call second time he didn't miss and got both hands on that on that punt and it leads to two more points for the Bears so joining Butner back there I think is Tyler Bissell number nine but Mo will take the kick it's across the 30 35 runs over a wild capap [Applause] before a nice run back turns out to be about 35 yds first and 10 bears [Applause] again engineer Kevin and Kaden put together a really nice array for you of the scoreboard on the bottom of your screen so there won't be the necessity for us to have to call out all that stuff as you can see it's first and 10 great pictures for your phone for your computer we're very proud and we've heard from you uh how genuine and professional you feel the broadcast event and we appreciate your feedback tough Ryan takes first and 10 gives it to Butner and on the stop for Mount Swan that's number 16 Dom Sullivan we should also note that on this Mount Spokan on this Mount Spokan team you got five six guys out there that are not only starters on the offensive side of the ball but they're out here getting major snaps on the defensive side of the ball uh so when if you want to talk about which team may have the advantage from a depth standpoint just go early on uh who has to play fewer players on one side of the ball that would definitely be an advantage for the Bears from that perspective three wide for the bears but again it's up the middle and this time they get a good handle on Bo Butner a host of Mount Spokan Wildcats in on the stop I did see number 72 that would be pton day a 61 SE and pton day is one of those two-way players first team First Team all GSL on the offensive side of the ball last year but also plays that nose tackle position for the Wildcats on that interior defensive line again tough Ryan I'll look to the sidelines for the call three wide for actually Four wide for Central Valley on this third and five Ryan will keep it this time maybe a yard gain [Music] and it looks like it was number 51 for the wild cats in on the stop that would be bo tampion a 62 junr fourth [Music] down snapping for the Bears senior number 73 Ben Hampton Co Butner will punt down the field and again it should take a bare bounce and down by Central Valley's number 43 Jake young nine to nothing 3 left in the first quarter great start for your Central Valley Bears huge thank you to the valley booster once again the be Nation donation fundraiser starts next week students will be asking those generous members of the community to join us in not only an easy but very productive way of fundraising for all of our activities in athletics but uh those top fundraisers will also learn some or earn some great prizes we'll try to tell you more as the evening goes on pass is complete from rker Tweety to Brighton SS but right there to make the tackle for Central Valley number 42 Conor monks and and already what we're seeing from the central defense so far is we're seeing the all 11 guys rallying to the ball wherever it's going but we're also seeing some really good fundamental uh breakdown tackling where they're not letting these Wildcat skill position guys really get free after the first initial contact and if they can keep doing that if they can keep doing that throughout this game that's going to really put him in a position to really uh hold on to that 90 lead twe throws it down the field and it looks like we might have had a violation there I could I couldn't see the whole I didn't see the whole play coming down the field but it looks like where the flag was thrown we had some grabbing by one of the Central Valley Defenders while the pass was in the air and uh sometimes uh when that ball's in the air and you feel like you're beaten chasing you just instinctively uh restrict the receiver and unfor and more times than not you got a referee in position there to throw the flag and you're not really not going to be something you get away with a whole lot it'll be a first down for Mount Spokan except that by based on the official signal we didn't have a pass interference call we had more of we had the hands going making contact in a place where you should not be having your hands make contact probably up around the face mask is what I'm guessing first and 10 at the 30 great crowd on hand tonight for the first game of the season for both schools Tweety will hand it off boy there's a lot of traffic back there I don't think he was even able to uh look where he was going to run before he got the ball well the ISS the issue on that play for the Wildcats is they tried to pull two guys from the left side of the line uh but if you're going to make that if you're going to make that reverse play work with two pulling guards you've got to get the initial guys on defense blocked uh but it also looked like the Bears had a really good defensive call for that play where they literally sent two linebackers in and and it probably messed up the blocking assignments for the wild catch which is why they lost two yards on that play Luke merkelbach lost only two yards he got a lot of it back after the traffic in the back field by the bear defense nice Tackle by number two Ryan Johns pass was complete but Johnny on the spot where your Central Valley bears and again a really good you know get low gets to the legs gets the receiver to the ground one of those where it could have been an easy broken tackle and a first down run but great great job by John's getting getting the feet wrapped up and putting Mel can in a third and five Alex CL gets the reception he's a 63 185 lb senior for the wild cats it's third and five probably the last play of the first [Applause] quarter nice try by Tweety there just to kind of lob it in that was intended for Brighton SS wasn't quite able to put just the right touch on it and I think the fact that oh number 45 for Central Valley was uh barely n in there that's baen beard well it looked like even if SS caught that ball beard was have him on the ground right away so either way you either got the incomplete pass you're only going to get a yard and it's going to be forth out anyway so good coverage there by beard whether that caused the incompletion or not but in good position to really hold that screen to about a yard or two but instead it's no yards senior Hunter mcke will boot it for the wild cats and this will probably be the last play of the [Music] quarter takes another mount spok hand mounts punter's doing a great job tonight booting it down the field and it looks like it'll be down first and 10 for the Bears at the 20 and if you're a central valet Bears fan you got to be smiling that's the end of the first quarter bears are up nine to nothing on the central valet YouTube channel and that brings us the end of the first quarter [Music] la [Music] [Music] beautiful night for football and so far a great night for the the Central Valley Bears if you're just joining us on the Central Valley YouTube channel Dwayne and Michael Barnhart along with our engineers and producers Kevin egund and Kon angers bears are up by nine and they'll take over at the 20 yd line tough Ryan's quarterback again up the middle it's Bo Butner looks like the first one in on the tackle for Moke and that time was number eight Brenan Hughes we'll double check [Applause] that great to have you mount Spokan Wildcat fans along with us tonight we appreciate you and your viewership tonight and we realize it's a long ball game in motion that's number three Kaden Adams the pass will go to number 13 Kaden lere look at Kaden leg that one out he could go oh almost all the way field it's a race to the finish line and right there with the touchdown saving tackle from out Spokan and I think we're seeing number 14 Jacob Keane and I think on that play we saw the effect of Bo Butner getting all the attention from the Mount Spokane defense as they fake that screen to butner's Direction then went back to Lanier and then he got a massive gain out of that as the blockers were all heading away from Butner and ended up making blocks for lanere to go make a big play so really good I mean really good play calling there I think a lot of those early runs with Butner starting to are starting to set up those other uh plays that the Bears are trying to run on offense bears are four wide here and we'll take a [Applause] timeout that'll be the first I believe for Central valy they have one left so that's their second timeout coach will talk with the officials again a reminder bear fans to see them in person the Bears will be at the annual greasy Pig game the Rivalry Grand game versus University High School at University we'll be under the lights at our sister school hope you can make the game the following week September 20th is the culmination of home coming week here at Central Valley high school so the students will be decorating the hallways they'll be involved in the number of spirit competitions and dress up days it's a great time to be a Central Valley beer again that homecoming game will be September 20th random royalty again being crowned this year Mrs Donley and the ASB group have a great competition that allows students to earn the opportunity to be homecoming royalty [Applause] back to action first and 10 at the 22 for Central Valley Hampton on the snap Ryan sees his Target and hits [Applause] it repay by Kevin so shows that was a pretty quick play and a sure-handed receiver pass that's Branson Olen on the catch and already a couple plays where we're seeing Ryan get that ball and get it out of his hands quickly a lot of those on those pre- snap reads where he's seeing off coverage and thinking he can get that ball into his receivers before the defensive backs were able to jump those routes three wide but they'll hand it off to Bo up the middle and Bo is across the 10 yd [Music] line looks like one of the uh Wildcats in on the stop was number three Brion s Brighton playing both ways today him and about five other mountable Camp players playing on both sides of the football again so pull out the pickle juice that's what we do to prevent [Applause] crabs it actually works really well second and seven bears in the Red Zone in motion landfear Ryan is back pass is again complete Butner around the edge he Dives and Central Valley touchdown [Applause] see Ry andite the blitz gets a buer and really got one block on that play two Mount K guys had a shot at B but he just got around the corner a little too fast and all he had was the pylon to dive for he got just inside it for another bare touchdown just like they sketched it out at practice the Bears are on the board again 15 in the second quarter Missle is in with a chance to make it 16 to nothing new lights here at the stadium a little bit different look a little brighter on the field and maybe a little less bright out in the uh track area and Tyler's kick is up and good up and good santra Valley so far very productive on offense Mount Spokan will try to get their motor running with this next possession GSL Friday Night Football on the central Bley YouTube [Applause] [Music] channel know that [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] we were just remarking in the booth how the uh new lights have added a little extra sharpness to the playing field and a little less light on the neighbors back behind us there I'm sure they're probably very happy that the new stadium lights are up here at 6 h field as Tyler Bissell kicks it into the end zone and again M Spokan will take over at their own 20 Tak over first down 10 20 yd very productive night on both sides of the bar ball so far for the Bears block punt haven't allowed any points on all Mount Spokane possessions coach clor will see if they can turn that that around well we mentioned earlier on the broadcast I mean the mounts ban they're replacing a lot replacing a lot of bodies on the offensive side two guys that were first team all GSL last year they include your quarterback and your running back a second all team wide receiver I mean they're just trying to find the pieces right now and when you're playing against a Central Valley team whose defense they brought a lot of guys back it could be a really tough thing to accomplish in the first week when you haven't been playing a lot of lot of time at game speed rer twe rer Tweety tosses it out there almost intercepted it was intended for Jason Bonnet let's take a look at the uh replay good job well we have a deflection here but we also have a late flag I don't know if this is a flag for something that happened during the play or if this is something that happened right away but based on uh the spot this might have been something that was a live ball so maybe just a little delayed on the flag but something that happened that we didn't initially see up here and it looks like we had some uh pass interference on Central Valley uh on Central Valley on that pass probably a little bit of a a grab and a hook out there little bit of a late flag but probably saw the whole whole thing through but and decided that that was a little bit too much contact so on the penalty the ball moved to the Mount Spokan 35 and it's first and 10 Wildcat [Music] Riker Tweety Will Roll to his right two bears hot on his Trail and the pass incomplete looks like we had three bears in the vicinity it was intended for Quincy malakis and Bo had his hand up there almost if he didn't uh tipped it away or at least made it hard for malakas to make the catch what that's happening during the pre- snap that I I think that the Bears have taken as a challenge is when you look at both Corners the corner at the top and the corner at the bottom they are right up on the Mountan receivers right at the snap and they're forcing them to have to get off the line and get some separation and right now uh from what I've been from what I've observed these Mount can receivers are not getting a whole lot of Separation on these Central Valley defensive backs two in the slot two wide and in motion and carrying the ball for the mount Spokan Wildcats that's number one Luke merkelbach little motion there gets a good block by some guys up front a couple of those first team all GSL guys right right up there in the middle leading the way and really a the first big hole that any Mount can skill position player has had to run through tonight nice recovery there by Conor monks as he made the tackle for the Bears 3 minutes into the second quarter a safety and two touchdowns for Central Valley Mount Spokan now approaching [Music] Midfield it began with number 53 Corbin Harrison and as you'll see on the replay he wasn't able Tweety to recover there to finish him off number 45 benen beard well the thing that you have when you're playing against the central alley defense is that defensive line we saw glimpses of this last year they can get in the back field if you if you allow him enough time to get to the quarterback uh but Tweety he really there was really nowhere for him to go with the ball again the the bear the defensive the secondary of the Bears they are right up in the faces of these Mountan receivers and the reer just just can't seem to find any separation which makes it difficult for twe to get the ball out three on the far side this time for Mount ban on second and 17 Tweety looks up the middle goes over the top and we'll probably see a flag there although Ryan John says I don't think I touched him let's take a look at Kevin's replay oh yeah maybe if Ryan would have looked back and made an attempt for the ball he might have got away with that contact well you can see there at the very tail end of that play he he's trying no John he's trying he is is looking back he's turning his head the in the problem though is when that contact First happens when the ball's in the air he's staring right at the defender and he's not looking back at the ball so a lot of that comes down to the contact occurring when he is not locating the ball so and they're actually going to go the other way they're going to actually claim that there was Pi on the mount spok on Mount Spokane so we weren't probably able to see it because by the time we got down field with the camera he had probably already pushed off at the line so striped shirts are doing a great job and earning their pay tonight wow big break for the bear defense too so they'll move him back repeat second [Applause] down and as we see out here it's going to be second and about an acre and Coach clor is really is making his displeasure about that call well known to uh the on the field again we didn't see the whole play on the replay angle we did see the contact by John's where it looked like where from our angle he didn't have the head turned or anything but what we couldn't see is we couldn't see maybe what happened before that if there was a push or maybe a move where the receiver grabbed a part of the Jersey to get separation but whatever it was the call was interfer was P offensive pass interference and that's going to set the Wildcats back 15 yards and make it second and a 32 to go lot to unpack on that play that might be second in a couple acres out here in verdale let's see what the Wildcats have up their [Music] sleeve rker Tweety the quarterback again he'll go long oh what a great defensive play and again Ryan John's innocent to the Penalty last time and what a great great swipe just as the ball was coming down for the intended receiver for the wild cats well what I really like about what John's did on that play is you just get out of a play where you're fortunate to maybe get a pi call against you but he gives a l there's a little bit of space he does kind of turn back but he gets his hands in the air and he knows he's not going to be able to make it play on the ball where he can intercept it so the next best thing he can do is watch the hands of the receiver get your hands where they're going and just get a paw on the ball and knock it out of bounds as you're near the sideline really good play there by John's defending that sideline play and even better when you can consider that Alex CL has about 5 to 6 in height Advantage there so again some outstanding performances by the bear defense and it looks like the Wildcats will need a little extra time here so they'll take a time out 751 left before halftime Central Valley 16 M Spokan zero on the Central Valley YouTube [Music] channel there will be a ceremony starting around 5:00 C then the unveiling of theat on the wall of fame and then at half time of the game on September 27 we'll recognize all those fors as they come back inded the high schoolall Fame I think everybody would agree the best seat in the house would be here at the stadium but this year is a dog on good one especially if you're trying to catch the game on your phone or maybe on a trip or or maybe during a break at work so we're proud to be here for you at the Central Valley YouTube channel that would be producer Kevin assisted by Kaden and yours truly Dwayne barnhard and Michael barnhard here with the commentary okay Mount Spokan taking a timeout before 3rd and 32 and it'll be the player in motion again that'll take the ball that's Luke merkelbach and the Wildcats play it pretty safe there and will no doubt punt it away well at that point the the BET Mount bam was maybe having to get that ball all the way to you hide end up getting a first down so instead of trying to take a risk where you put the ball in the air and maybe get a turnover the way that bear secondary's played this night just run the ball you've got a really good puncher that can put it deep and no get your defense out there and make the Bears have to work for it yeah fourth and 32 is about halfway to University High School for me here so they'll go ahead and punt with Bo Butner waiting for the kick for Central Valley and that's Hunter mcke and Bo let it bounce takes another Wildcat bounce down the field it'll be first and 10 for the bear offense at the 30 yd line remember stick around for halftime the famous Central Valley High School marching band In Color Guard will be in entertaining this we're also going to try and catch up to the coaches at the end of the halftime just to get some perspective on what coach Butner and the crew might have talked about here before the start of the second half and just before the Bears put the ball in it looks like we had a flag on that kick the initial signal I saw was we had a Blindside block so if that ends up being the call instead of the 30 yd Line This is going to go 15 yards backwards but it looks like uh since they're marching the ball toward the mounts well no they're just getting together to talk about the call but uh if the initial call was Blindside block if that's against the Bears we're going to have a starting position of the 15 yd line instead of the 30 so that'll pretty much negate the negate the kick the short well we'll say it was a medium kick based on where that ball was punted to initially start but it's just not going to be quite the good field position that the Bears would have initially had yep it is a blinds side block on the Bears so yep they're going to have a little little more terrain to have to uh explore down the field if they want to put the ball in the end zone again and with the game itself getting safer and uh with the techniques being taught to the players now everything is done to make sure that the game is as safe as possible okay they'll Mark the penalty off from the 25 I think they're going to come in and talk about this here cuz I cuz I if I last checked I thought the I thought the play I thought the play ended at the 30 so well even though they marched it from the 25 it looks like they ended up marking it off correctly and in the end because that ball did end at the 30 and it's it's a blind side blocks 15 yards so 30 go to 15 so while they did Mark It Off from maybe the spot they shouldn't have they ended up getting the penalty yardage correct correct anyway so and you saw offensive coach Dante Menard there as the signal goes in and a running play this time SE Martinez his first Carry tonight 510 senior running back for the Bears and one thing you'll see you see Martinez do on that plane we see BU butter do a really good job is he just keeps the leg just keeps the legs moving runs behind his pads that's really tough to tackle as a linebacker or a defensive back when you've got a running back that just keeps the legs moving and just runs behind the pads and Martinez will take it up the gut again for a gain of about three martinz we apologize it's SE Martinez up seven down for the Bears the old is not as sharp as they used to be here who invented eight font anyway I don't know who it is but it all fits on one page hey we sure are glad to have you here tonight isn't it great to have GSL football not only here on the YouTube channel but at all your local stadiums so make sure you get out and support the Bears or whomever your hometown team is and when you can't we'll be here Ben Hampton little snap tough Ryan with the handoff again to SC Martinez nice tackle there 23 number 53 for the Wildcats is Donovan Talbert he's a 6 foot Jr well that was a great job that was a great job there by number three for Mount Spokane I think that might have been airs on that play he shot the Gap and he oh I mean it was pretty Martinez was pretty close to getting out to the edge but because of A's getting into that Gap he tripped him up just in time and instead of maybe a third and short the Bears have 10 yards to navigate here with it being is uh hot tonight it's nice to know that maybe they can give both Bo Butner and Martinez equal snaps as Bo plays both ways whistle and it looks like uh Ryan didn't get the snap in time and that's going to back up the Bears five more so for the first game I think that's only the second pre- snap penalty on the Bears the Wildcats I think have only committed one so if you want to talk about now coming into the game one where you got a little more game speed things are going a little faster the team both teams for the most part are getting their plays in and out pretty good you know had to spend a couple timeouts because of the play clock getting low but for the most part they're uh getting everything in and out for the most part pretty smoothly for a first game looked like one of the Bears might have moved early there but uh I didn't see a flag on the play that wasn't intended for Camden landf there is a flag down by the 10 yd line and I think what we might have here is a motion or a formation we could have a motion or a shift it looked like the Bears had two guys moving and then when the ball got snapped none of them got reset in time so probably a probably going to have a five y coming up just as a formation penalty here no it looks like they picked up the flag so third and 15 it's actually going to be fourth down they forgot they didn't change the mar quick enough on the field there for 15 isn't that a great display at the bottom of the screen so so if you're watching in a loud room with your phone or you have a computer like mine that's about 7 or 8 years old and the volume doesn't always work as well as it needs to producer Kevin and Caden will keep you up to date we're trying to get more Innovative with our broadcast so uh add your comments what you like and and maybe some things we can improve on Bo Butner is back to punt and it is deep in Bear territory he'll get it off [Applause] looks like it might have touched a player on the way down but uh nevertheless the ball will be down and there will be no run back first and 10 Mount Spokan with 418 left in the first half M Spokan takes over first down and 10 first game of the GSL season new lights in the stadium and a great show put on by your ca Valley Bears on both sides of the balls so far there's the landscape of beautiful verdale and when uh producer Kevin and Kaden send the lights up high or I'm sorry the cameras up high there's a fewer a few amount or a fewer amount of bulbs up there but boy the field looks excellent it is a hot evening have yet to see any evidence though of any cramping or major problems with the players so uh boy you got to thank those trainers and those folks on the sidelines who not only Supply the fluids make sure the kids remember to use them correctly I think we're going to have a discussion here we did you know you noticed on the punt return we did have a touch and I think that ended up touching the helmet of a Central Valley player and on the spot of the touch was actually in front of where that ball was down so he Advanced he could Advance we are probably going to have a discussion here about the Wildcats wanting to take the spot of where we had the first touch because we did see the bean bag which usually signals that we did have a t that we had a touch so I wonder if that's the discussion here and if that's the case then that's going to move the ball right right around the 40 yd line uh because I don't know why the Wildcats wouldn't want to take the ball 10 yards closer than where that ball was down and yep that's a exactly what they're going to do they're going to move the ball up to where the the spot of the first touch the crew and Stripes getting a real workout tonight and we're actually seeing a few things that you don't often see in games so the calls are right on and when they're not sure everybody gets some input so the ball is down Mount Spokan approaching Midfield with 418 left in the half again that's Tweety the quarterback this time a screen up the middle led by Brion SS and as Michael mentioned he's playing both sides of the ball tonight nice game unfortunately I think we're going to have a we're going to have that play coming back because we got a flag on the field now W now the question I think what we're going to have here I don't know you it looked like the blocks were pretty clean on the Wildcat s so I wonder if this is going to be a talk about whether the ball was caught in front of the line and we had lineman running down the the field when they shouldn't have or maybe we did have a block that was not so legal that happened on that play that happened on that play So the pace of the game has slowed just a bit as those early season mistakes are and they're going to Yep they're going to pick up the flag and I think it was and I think that's what the discussion the brief discussion was there was where the ball was caught and they ruled that nope ball was caught behind the line making the line going down the field all perfectly [Applause] legal line of scrimmage Central Valley [Music] [Applause] 38 defense digs in in motion that's merkelbach put on the handoff Bron ARS is tackled by a host of bears let's see who the first one is on the [Applause] stop actually two oh it's pretty tough I mean I don't blame SS for kind of stopping in his tracks because he literally had three bears right in the two yards in the back field when he even got the hand off and you pretty much have nowhere to go when you're pretty when you have a defensive player on to each your side and someone up the middle so the Bears are doing a pretty good job of getting into the back field on that line which know when you're playing against a line that's got two first team players from last year a bit of a surprise that the Bears are getting in the back field as easy as they are Jo Mars one of the Bears in on that stop on the second down play Tweety goes deep and like magic Ryan John's again good coverage and he's able to B the ball away as you'll see on the replay and no doubt about anything on this play I mean they're definitely I mean he's pretty much running side for he's he's running step for step his eye he found that ball pretty easily and you know what really smart player just knock it down he's not he doesn't have an angle to really go up and get it you know just knock it down incomplete make it third and long and it looks like uh we have a receiver down the one that was running step for step that John's was running step for step with actually we got two Wildcats down yeah I see number 52 uh that would be Donovan Talbert no actually I don't have a 52 on my roster so I must be wrong on the number looks like it's actually number 50 so that's what that's Jackson [Applause] Simmons and I don't I didn't get enough I don't know who the receiver was down there but two so a lineman and a receiver down on the same play and for a critical third and 12 that's going to be coming up the Wildcats are going to have to run a play without both of those players on the field which means you're going deep into the bench for this key third and 12 and and by what I mean key is third and 12 and you got Less Than 3 minutes left in this first half to do anything uh positive if you're the wild cats coach Freeman coach Menard there keeping everybody on the same page and boy on both sides of the ball Bears have shown some incredible Talent already tonight all right our uh injured players are safe escorted off the field almost a halftime and I know there's a lot of parents relatives and friends and neighbors looking forward to the halftime show featuring the famous Central Valley High School marching band In Color Guard we'll take a time out and let you enjoy [Music] [Applause] it sharp looking bearss over there and as we mentioned from the athletes to the Musicians to those in activities the Arts and academics be Nation donation funds it all thanks to your generosity and it's about to happen beginning Monday we'll have some updates on how you can get involved here during the second half and if you have a be student in the family they will tell you how to get involved very very soon Wildcats want to get on the board here before halftime tough third and 12 though for rer Tweety and the Wildcats rker sees some daylight he still decides to make a throw double coverage back there intended for number 12 Quincy malakas and again you'll see two bears converging on him there and able to bat it away number 13 for Central Valley Kaden lere and that window for Tweety looked like it was open for about a second or two but as that ball was in the air that Gap closed really fast and we end up seeing that ball kind of dying a bit and you had two bears right there on the plane again knock it Knocking it down make it fourth down don't do anything don't do don't too much don't do too much than what you need to do would have been a tough interception anyway but create the fourth down and I don't see the punt team out there so it looks like the Wildcats with the time kind of getting under three minutes in the first half they're going to try to go for it they're trying to get something going on offense [Applause] [Music] and again that was a tough pass but a great play on defense Jake young Jake is a 6-2 junior and he quashed that play so it'll be a fourth or it'll be a turnover on downs and we'll see if the Bears can do any more damage with 242 left in the first half opening game of the GSL season under the lights at SD Hansen field Central Valley High School in beautiful verdale [Applause] again our coaches have to be pretty impressed with how the Bears looked in the first half some mistakes in their last offensive possession that I'm sure they'll be correcting at halftime yeah I mean those mistakes will get talked about but I think there's a lot a lot of positivity you can talk about here and if they can put some more points on the board before the half has done there's going to be even more to talk about in that locker room T fryan handles the high snap and completes the handoff bo Butner for one Johnny on the spot there your Mount Spokan defense yeah not lot of lot of Mount Spokan guys not on that D line that weren't necessarily blocked on that play so I don't know if there was maybe a miscommunication on where the blocking was supposed to go but yeah Butner just doing a good job just to get that ball back they looks like he even got a yard on that play really good good job there then we're at the two-minute Mark before [Applause] halftime Ryan looks to the left then to the right and finds lfar he'll take it up the Midfield a little bit of misdirection fooled a few but uh able to come back and help make the tackle for Mount Spokan Bion Junior defensive tackle third and five for the Bears still got 130 on the clock so still plenty of time but remember they only got one timeout so they can really stop the clock once but they can use the boundary lines if they have to to stop the clock themselves also three wide on the far side of the field but the handoff on the sweep goes to B and he's able to wiggle his way up to the Mount Spokane 29 and as you'll see on the replay was able to shake a couple of big tackles before they finally forced him out of bounds and I'll tell you what that play for the Wildcats that should that that in most cases would be forked down you're forcing the Bears to punt but Bo Butner able to shake off two Wildcats and this guy's motor does not stop moving there was no way he was going to be tackled short of that first down marker Quincy Malak is hit on the stop for Mount Spokan as Ryan again hits the mark and that is complete this time to number 11 for Central Valley that is Tristan poam 47 seconds as the clock runs down to the end of the first half and you probably got to think about using that last timeout here as the clock keeps moving maybe after this play if you don't get out of bounds because you're going to be under 30 seconds after this next play is done they've got the trusty leg of Tyler Bissell on the sidelines but ran seeing that there's no pressure will take it on his own and that's up close to the 23 yd line and here comes a timeout by and Coach Butner will call that last timeout here with 17 seconds on the clock stop in there by a host of wildcats got a few Bears there pushing the opposite direction timeout Central Valley out Valley so the clock doesn't scoreboard hasn't shown it yet but it looks like we're going to have a third down and it's probably less than a yard so knowing that you do have Tyler ble in your back pocket the returning second Team all GSL kicker from last year again second team as a sophomore so he is a junior this year no on a with 17 seconds and no timeout left you might be thinking do you want to go do you go to this you can still you can get a first down and stop the clock but unfortunately the clock's going to move unless you get out of bounds maybe look for the Bears 25 26 yards away from the end zone and maybe take a shot uh if you get you end up with a touchdown or you end up with an incomplete pass and then you bring out Bissell to kick the field goal the other thing you could get is you could get a defensive pass interference and maybe get 15 yards closer and then you get one more play in with the clock stop to before you before you go to half so a lot of options here for the Bears to look at uh on this third down and short [Applause] coaches had their input wild cats are ready to defend on the third and one play Bears will try to add a few more to the board before they take a break for the half the first of three home games in September glad that we could bring it to you here on the Central Valley YouTube channel that's tough Ryan he'll take the snap from Ben Hampton Bo Butner in the backfield the pass goes down the field nice stop there by the mount bokane Defender as you'll see on Kevin three play looked like the Bears were just going to see if they could get the kick closer for Bissell on that on there uh on that play but in the end it's a drop pass in instead of maybe a 37 y they're going to bring it'll be about 41 yards from the left hash so kudos to Jason Bonnet for the wild cats in on that tough hit and stop [Music] [Applause] Joe Rock will hold for a 41 yd attempt by Tyler [Music] Bissell hold is solid and so is the kick with 6 seconds left in the half the Bears are on the board again Central Valley 19 Mount Spokan nothing you're seeing it on the Central Valley YouTube channel and we'll be back back [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] prob [Music] [Music] [Music] could be one of the most beautiful nights under the lights for GSL football ever here in beautiful veradale and it's great that we can bring it to you via the high technology of central Valley's YouTube channel Tyler Bissell who just kicked a 41 yd field goal to make it 19 and0 for the Bears will kick that one into the end zone no return Mount Spokane with about 6 seconds in the ball on the 20 as you saw in the break on the sidelines there your Central Valley coaches very excited about the performance of their players as they should be and I'm sure coach CL for the Wildcats will huddle with his group and point out some key things that the Wildcats may need to do to get on the board so far it's been all [Music] bears don't go away because we have a a video and also a great performance by the Central Valley High School Marching man and color guard coming up next the handoff will go to [Applause] merkelbach and that should do it so again if you're a Central Valley bear you're smiling big as the we'll try to remind you here but this is the first we know of outdoor volleyball match in the stadium ever at Central Valley high school or for that matter in Eastern Washington so that's one thing to uh mark on your calendar second beginning Monday particularly if you are a parent guardian of a Central Valley High School student you will be asked to help the Central Valley bear boosters in the annual be ation donation thanks to our friends at vertical Rays we've made it quite simple for not only to allow you and our students to raise the thousands of dollars necessary to operate all of the programs I always look at it as early Christmas shopping because we get it all done and then the kids have the money they need to enjoy most of their activities and Athletics for the year you'll be asked to have 15 to 20 and possibly up to 35 contacts for your students to offer refer to Vertical raise they will do all the digital work they will send out the emails that will encourage thanks to your student or your family and the sport or activity they represent to make a simple donation to the Central Valley bear boosters so first of all thanks to the bear boosters thanks for the partnership forged with vertical Rays you'll learn more about this when your students attend our assembly on this Monday so again if you are a parent Guardian or a family member you'll hear all about be Nation donation from your student but we'd like you to help them right now by preparing a list of 15 to 20 up to 35 contacts people that you know would be very happy to make a donation to uh support the Arts the academics the Athletics and activities that have made Central Valley High School such a great part of our students lives so please you might want to just take your contacts and maybe transfer them to the notes section of your phone but we'll give you more details next week and again this lasts for a limited time and you won't be badgered to give money to buy oh Bakery items candies wrapping paper or anything like that this is one concerted effort that has boosted all of our programs on the campus so again it's called bination donation and we would love to have your support looks like we're about a minute and a half before the start of the second half along with Michael Barnhart it's Dwayne barnhard and our producer Kevin egland and Kaden Angus officials are entering the field we'll try to catch a quick conversation with Coach Travis Harmon before uh the second half begins but as you can see on the scoreboard it's been all Central Valley and as the Bears Rush the field it's Central Valley 19 Mount Spokan you're watching the second half on the Central Valley YouTube channel we're joined Now by Central Val Central Valley assisant Coach Travis Haron Travis 24 minutes no points on the scoreboard what's going well for the Bears out there yeah we'll take that uh kids are executing we had a great week of preparation they were dialed in they're flying around and I couldn't be more proud of them we just got to finish that was the message at halftime we got to finish the game 24 minutes to go what do you got to do to finish this and get the first win of the season for the Bears well we just got to go through the checks uh you know they they could go Tempo on us we're kind of ready for it uh you know our sub package the biggest thing is just we got to tackle we got to keep the ball in front of us and the the point of emphasis at halim was we to get to take away we had a couple shots we didn't take advantage of it so we want to get the ball back to our offense coach thanks for your thanks for your time and go ahead and get back thanks guys want to special thank you to sa build building supp sa Building Supply they do it best save more Building Supply I agree a lot with what coach Harmon said they really good half I mean you can't really complain when you don't give up a lot of when you don't give up any points in 24 minutes of play but oh I I think they had a lot of they did have a lot of opportunities to take the ball away I think uh they're probably prone to get one before the before the day is done but I think uh again yeah staying disciplined keeping their focus not letting that not playing to the score I think is what I think he was also trying to say there is is you're up 19 nothing you can't really let you don't want to let up against a m can type team even though again they're replacing a lot of all some key all GSL guys from last year but again they they have a good tradition of winning they they plug in a lot of spots every year they just reload uh coach clor is going to be getting them motivated to come out here and punch back here in the second half and the Bears got to be ready for it and Here Come Those bears and it was so nice to uh have Travis Harmon defensive coach stop by and visit with us as we've mentioned we we try to uh make our progress our program as uh professional as possible and when the coach will stop by and give you a halftime interview Michael that's pretty special so uh special thanks to him Mark Butner Justin Adam Corey David and Chase your defensive coaches and your offensive coaches Brian Spencer Dante Menard Carl Freeman Bryce buts Micah Mason and Chris Sullivan and of course head coach Ryan Butner great first half and I'm sure coach clor from Mount Spokane has his guys ready to go it's Friday Night Football and we'll be back with a kickoff shortly on the Central Valley YouTube channel make sure you tell your friends where to find us [Applause] [Applause] [Music] I e all right Bear Nation what a great start to our GSL football season hey a big thank you to our folks up north at Mount Spokane high school for joining us on the Central Valley YouTube channel tonight to cheer on your team Under The Lights Bears had a lot of success in the first half 19 to nothing the toe Tyler Bissell will put it to the football and the second half is underway pretty accurate kick wouldn't you say Michael well the only thing I'll say about that kick is he was kind of playing with that sideline a little bit and you don't want that ball going out of kicking the ball going out of bounds there and giving the Wildcats the ball on the 35 so uh if you want to say anything it was pretty yeah pretty good placement on it well if you know Tyler he's a pretty humble guy so we'll have to give him a hard time about putting it right in there and showing off as the bear defense returns to the field and the Wildcat [Applause] offense H looks like we got the well we have the ball on the 20 and the chain crew set up on the 25 so we got to get them uh lined up on the correct spots it's their first week too nice job guys we appreciate everything you do now we're ready for action [Applause] and what action we have Skyler Hardy making it known that the Barrett defense is alive tonight it's almost as if he knew what was coming well he's just getting I mean Skyler's just getting off the snap really fast and real and I mean whoever's got that assignment of block and Skyler out there right now they're just a little I mean I don't know if you're the Wildcats and you start changing up your snap counts so maybe maybe he maybe jumps off sides a time or two but whatever whatever is going on out there Sky's got it timed up and the Wildcats have just had trouble blocking him all game loss of [Applause] six Tweety the quarterback pumps has his eye downfield just a little bit long on that Ryan John's the defender for the Bears that was intended cover by for number 17 Andrew Thomas and John's again had the inside position on that throw we heard coach Harmon talk about they want to get a turn they want to force a turnover uh before this game is done and if you know if Johns keeps playing that that great inside position on the receivers so we might have a Central Valley Corner get an interception before this game is done or if we're looking at what Hardy's been doing on the line we could have a fumble and a recovery so I I don't doubt that the Bears are going to have their opportunities to get that turnover here in the second half okay tweet's ready to take the snap on Third and 16 and again lots of pressure but it's a screen and it's a good one greaton NS up close to the first down let's take a look at Kevin's replay well great P well the the be D line got in the back field but a great job by Tweety to get that pass off and once that ball was in the once that ball got completed there was pretty much no not a lot of Defense for the Bears to defend the down the downfield blocking and that was just a well-designed screen playay by the Wildcats on that on that and they're going to need more of that here in the second half but Kaden lere came that close to chasing him down first and 10 though for Mount Spokane that's SS in the back field TWY will take the snap there's the handoff and the tackle from behind and again that Centra Valley defenseman number 45 B [Applause] [Music] beard biton also wrestles it's his senior year 45 beard on that tackle BR up second down for the wild just two minutes gone here in the third quarter you're watching Central Valley High School football on the Central Valley YouTube channel we appreciate your comments and also when you share us with a friend or a family member get the word out this is where you find bear Sports all year long again penetration by the bear defense this time Liam Reen the 62 Jr and on the sack kind of overwhelmed the defensive lineman there well you got to give bait and beard some credit he didn't get the sack but you got to give him credit for getting pressure up the middle and pushing uh and and pushing twey right into rear right into Reen's grasp so that he could get the sack so if if you could give if I know they won't do it on the stats but you could give beard an unofficial half sack on that play as he kind of direct as he kind of directed Tweety toward the arms of rear in but they chalk up a sack for rear in but I think somewhere if they're charting it they'll give beard a little maybe some some credit on that stat sheet too it is indeed a team game and it's third and 20 now rer Tweety again looks down down field and yes he has a receiver and all the way home oh Luke merkelbach maybe five yds from The End Zone and look who chased him down but hold on there is a flag in the back field so the biggest play of the night for the Wildcats might might not might not be we got to see what the flag was well let's give kudos to Max Barker because I know he was hugging and chugging all the way down there to make that stop he was not going to let him score so the penalty is holding it is against Mount Spokane wow and I'll tell you what that is for a team that's been looking for a big play all night in Mount Spokan that's just a killer penalty Tweety shows throws a really nice ball too so uh you know the fact that the defense has has been so good and a couple of tough breaks on Long yardage situations it's just been really tough for him to connect holding sign against and a z and the Bears showed it looked like they showed a zero coverage on that play and look and probably the first time tonight we've seen uh mountane receiver get behind the Central Valley secondary I mean great throw I mean Tweety had the great throw right on the money but also just the maybe the F rare case tonight where we seing the Central Valley Defender secondary uh have guys get behind them and very fortunate that they got bailed out with a holding call clock continues to run and the Wildcats are going to have to get to the line quickly and get this snapped as the clock is now at 3 seconds and they'll hand it off this time Brendan Hughes the 61 [Applause] junor on the replay there you'll see how the uh Defenders were able to penetrate there and turn him North instead of [Applause] West again these long yardage situations have really made it hard for the wild cats to get their offense untrapped this is Hunter mcke with the punt and and Bo Butner Waits deep for the bears actually that's Camden lanfier he makes a fair Catch and the Bears are back on offense and with 738 the Bears 19 M Spokan nothing on the Central Valley YouTube channel [Applause] first and 10 [Applause] bears and Hampton the center the snap goes to tough Ryan who's had a great opening night performance as his quarterback and of course Bo Butner on the carry stopped there by a host of the mount smokane Wildcat Defenders that would include number 51 Bion we've called his name a couple of times Bo is a 62 Jr gain of two once again the Bears are in action against the Rival University High School Titans at U high they call it the greasy Pig we'll see you there Camden lanere in motion as the handoff goes to Bo Butner straight up the middle so we have a flag in the back field I think we're going to get an we're probably going to get an illegal shift or motion penalty on the Bears Quincy malakas in on the stop for Mount Spokane actually on the initial stop that was jce penglan it's going to be a formation penalty so the bearers probably had a couple too many guys in the back field so they'll back them up five and they'll repeat second down 5 yards deeper great crowd on tonight not often you get to go to a Friday night football game with temperatures in the 80s but that's what it was a kickoff and fortunately the athletes have seemed well hydrated and we haven't had any major problems with that tonight there on the fence you'll see our list of be sponsors thank you for supporting be Nation Athletics and activities and round that would be number nine for Central Valley Tyler Bissell and in on the stop nice job of chasing that one down for Mount Spokane number 38 Logan do tell you what I don't know many teams where year I don't know many teams in the league at any level where you actually have you're actually giving a a fly sweep to the guy that's also your kick ER Tyler was one of the four who earned the state championship in the relay last year so Fleet of foot is an understatement tough Ryan hauls back and throws a mile but just maybe a tenth of a mile too long I mean right he got a lot of time to throw and he stepped right into this he just LED Lanford just a little bit too far but I'll tell you what that's a great throw a great effort by lere that was olon by the way yep my bad that Ranson Olen but you know great route by Olsen no not a bad throw by by Ryan those are tough know those 30 plus yard passes they're they're tough but tell you what they're going to they're going to eventually hit one of those someday and it's going to be really big Bo Butner out there again earning his payday as the punter and on offense and defense he'll kick it away for the Bears [Music] and again Bo gets that bare bounce so Mount Spokane will take over at about the 35 yd line looks like they're marking it at the 35 I I think B might tell you that's not one of his best kicks but ends up getting the ball on the other side of the [Music] 50 Che leaders out tonight leading the bear faithful coached by Sabrina barell here's a look at cheerleaders and the new look bear cheer squad for 2425 M bokano go back to work the handoff to Brendan Hughes for not much here's Kevin's replay so you have two defenders in there one of which was Liam Reen as well as the player who made the tackle Skyler Hardy as you mentioned Michael his motor is always running yeah his motor's been running all night but the other thing that uh is going on is you usually don't see an offensive lineup uh like Mount spans that gets that that just gets handled the way that the bear defensive line is handling them tonight and I think that's just a lot and I think that's credit to the to Central Valley and their game plan on the defensive line on how uh to get in the back field and how experiened the players are this year ooh that one batted up for grabs Falls incomplete let's see what happens when Tweety lets go of this one is it deflected nope just a little bit off Target again another one of those footballs in the air and we again going back to coach Harmon's comments at at halftime they're looking to try to get that that one takeaway before the game is done and another opportunity there that just came really close but not able to caral the ball before it hit the ground so another third and long from out Spokan with just under 5 minutes left in the third quarter we're at s Hansen field on the campus of Central Valley high [Music] school again incredible Pursuit the sack by Joe dear and it's not the first time we've called his name tonight let's take a look at Kevin's replay He just flat out outan the blocker I don't even think you could have counted to two before Demar was able was in on the sack on Tweety there I mean he was through I don't even think he got touched and again I think he was on he was on Tweety before he could even get to the count of two no chance Tweety had to even get the ball out so Hunter mcke has had quite a workout tonight he'll be pting and I think this time again it's K and lere deep for the [Music] Bears oh another mistake and as good as Hunter is a kicker he wasn't able to kick it out of the end zone in Time Michael so that's going to be six for the Bears and I bet if you ask Hunter what he'd do next time it wouldn't be that well I think Hunter's kind of K I mean no pun intended but I think he's kind of kicking himself where he I think if he had to do it again he would just jump on the ball and just take the safety but the whiff there and know the the but we had bo Butner get a punt block earlier and had the ball bounce around in the end zone where they could have had a possible touchdown that ended up being a safety but this time kind of capitalizing on a little bit of a gaff by uh by by Hunter but just jump he jumps on the ball and ends up getting the points that he probably thought he should have had in the first half so we've talked about the performance of the defense and the offense but I'll tell you the special teams have also been a big part of the success tonight for cetra Valley and they were and the Special Teams we go back to last year they scored some key points in key situations uh we kind of knew that that was going to be a strong point for the Bears continuing into this year and it's shown up in game one uh Against the Wild Cats Joe Roco hold for the toe Tyler Bissell that one is good and with just under four minutes left in the third quarter check it out bear fans 26 to nothing on the Central Valley YouTube channel we'll take a break final score Clark 26 ch0 [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] he [Applause] how about that Salute by the bear fateful there as the Bears say thank you to their fans after a great effort tonight and gosh we're only near the end of the third quarter so the Bears hosting Mount Spokane up 26 to nothing Tyler B kick again into the end zone so Mount Spokan will take over at the 20 so just imagine what you're seeing out there that nice green expanse that we call Sig T Hansen field with a volleyball court in the middle of it yes it's going to happen we'll be one of the first schools to host a rally in the valley match that'll feature the Bears and their Rivals the university Titans that's coming up on September 12th thanks in part to a great donation of a subfloor so we could safely put a volleyball court on the grass thank you save more Building Supply and also Sheamus sandwiches for being a big part of the success of rally in the valley that's September 12th back to action first and 10 not Spokan incomplete pass intended for Andrew Thomas Dallas Parish this BR up second down for the Wild and defended there by Central Valley's Dallas Parish number eight [Applause] second and 10 and again Tweety throws deep this time intercepted by Max Barker the 510 senior also your ASB president this year at Central valy High [Applause] School well coach Harmon H the school's ASB president just got you the thing you talked about at the the halftime discussion and that is there's your first takeaway of the night for the Central Valley defense if you wanted to be really kind in some ways you could have maybe counted uh bo butner's recovery in the end zone as the first takeaway if you wanted to get into technicalities but you know what no doubt about that being a defensive of takeaway there so I think we'll chalk that one up to the defense and give the Special Teams their props on the TD recovery and we probably had mentioned earlier and guessed that with the heat that cramping could be a problem so uh let's hope Quincy malakis can work that one out at game time and you didn't add the extra 10 degrees that it uh actually is on the field game time temperature was around 84° so well it's still about 79° out there still and it's 9:00 so while the heat has kind of gone down 79° at 9 that's uh for this time of the evening that's still a pretty warm that's still a pretty warm temperature and even and down on the turf it's probably another 9 10 degrees War 9 10 degrees warmer of heat coming up off the surface so good news Quincy was able to get up walk off on his own accord and good news if you still have your boat in the water what is going to be great to be in the outdoors this weekend and celebrate a bare Victory Things Are looking good for the Bears if you're just joining us on the Central Valley YouTube channel Central Valley with uh good efforts on both sides of the ball and their special teams have taken a 26 to nothing lead over Mount Spokane Bears back on offense with tough Ryan the quarterback in charge pick hand off there to Butner nice pass to Camden lere and yes Camden can run dancing along the sidelines there the stop by Cody rier from Mount Spokan T comp look at how he just was able to tiptoe down the uh sideline there I think he got an extra what eight or nine yards well this is just a play where he all L knew was just one block and he gets to the edge and he pretty much just ran out ran to M can Defenders there and the only thing that really slowed him down was a a good Pursuit by one of the Defenders to use the sideline as an extra tackler and uh but not before Lanford got down to the 20 Bears on the move this time Ryan fakes left looks right and that pass incomplete intended for branon ol nice play by the mount bokan Defender there first GSL football game for our bear freshman and boy they are out in large numbers tonight way to go guys supporting your bears and of course bar nation very happy with the results so far and with that guy because Bo Butner is at it again he's around the corner and he's in the end zone touchdown Central [Applause] Valley I mean that I mean ju just stop it that's just not that's just not fair right there I mean if we go back and if we were to see that again just the move he puts on that linebacker and gets loose and then just does the rest I mean that's just that's just a that's just a star in the making right there if he's already not one and I think we already know that he is one Bo his teammates saluting that great effort that you saw here on the Central Valley YouTube channel let's see if Tyler can make it 27 for the Bears The Hold by Joe rock is solid the kick is good and with 321 left in the third quarter CB 26 Mount Spokan Pardon Me CB 32 not SP [Applause] [Music] [Applause] nothing all right bear fans take out your phones and open up that calendar put the following dates in your phone so you remember Friday September 27th wall of some of CV's best coming home be recognized and next Thursday the 12th of September righ in the valley right here on s t Hanson field C Valley High School volleyball taking on University of [Music] [Applause] some great moments tonight for the Central Valley bears and if you know some people who weren't able to be here or would like to watch those special moments again you'll be able to watch this replay of Central Valley High School football on the YouTube channel through Sunday so just a reminder if your Bears fans weren't able to watch it or would like to relive those moments again you will be able to watch a replay through Sunday here kick into the end zone Again by Abell well based on the last two kicks by where Bissell put those kickoffs I'm a little scared to ask what his golf game is like because if it's like what he how he places the ball in the end zone he's probably one of those you want uh chipping from about a 100 yards out on your SC on your uh on your forsome team in a and fourman scramble again lots of bear points Mount Spokan looking for a little momentum here as the third quarter winds down again Tweety will take the snap but not before the officials whistle it dead [Applause] [Applause] [Music] looks like it'll be against the Bears yeah it look like someone on the left looks like the Left End on that plate you saw a little Flinch it didn't look like very much but sometimes a little nudge gets your helmet into the neutral zone and then that pretty much draws the encroachment flag we'll do our best to keep track of the players that may be entering the lineup because I do see some new bear numbers in there nice pass by rker Tweety there that should be worth about 10 yards for the wild cats the catch there by Andrew Thomas and in on the tackle Dallas Parish number eight for the Bears I think at this point if you're if you're Mount SP can I think if you're coach chor you just want to see some life out of your off you just want to see some life out of your offense you know just see some passes completed get across the 50 yard line and be able to carry and be able to carry some of that uh into your postgame discussion with your players as we see a big hit here on this last play so Ryan Johns has had a couple outstanding plays tonight and just levels that mount Spokan receiver that was Mason Shaw I can't remember from last year if Johns was one of the main guys in starting on that in that defensive back field for the Bears I don't think he was but uh for the first game of the season he's been really impressive in that secondary you know playing up playing really tight coverage getting up on the line against these receivers but we also got to mention that Jake Young number 43 across the field from Johns has just been uh as impressive uh lining up against this uh receiving core of the Wildcats they go up the middle This Time Brendan Hughes not much in on the tackle Anthony Turco the 6 foot senior number 44 [Applause] [Music] so the Bears are on the road next week followed by homecoming here versus the me Panthers it's always great to enjoy homecoming and if you can't make it in person you'll find it right here on the Central Valley YouTube [Applause] [Music] channel rker Tweety will take the third and eight snap and wind up and throw intended for number five cash Tua up by number and almost intercepted by Joe dears and it looks like tweet's down on the field he might be having a some of those cramp issues we've been talking about throughout the game it's I mean it's still pretty warm down there on the field even at this hour past 9:00 for the players and while you and I might enjoy a nice warm summer evening for the athletes it can be really difficult so let's hope you can shake that one off again Barrett Nation donation the one fundraiser for all Central Valley academics activities and Athletics begins Monday we really could use your help now if you are a bare parent guardian or member of the family you can do your part by coming up with contacts so that our friends at uh vertical rays will be able to contact them for you and ask them to join in the effort to raise money for all our Central Valley activities academics arts and Athletics you could offer up to 35 contacts we can reach out to those people and what's great about the students this year is they can actually earn Spirit items for all the hard work that they do to encourage folks to donate so this is a whole new program we're very excited about your participation and the opportunity to raise enough money so that all of our students can compete in the many great activities extracurricular co-curricular and otherwise that are offered here at the school from the great band to our sports teams to our activities our theater be boosters make it happen and we can't thank them enough so please show your support beginning Monday we only have a couple of weeks so do your best to make be Nation donation a big success in 24 and 25 on to punt Hunter mcke steps back and handles that high snap nicely and Booms it down the field Camden lere able to regain the possession of that one and it'll be first and 10 bears and again we'll try to track down the new faces as they pop out on the field this is very exciting as a lot of the players will debut in the very first game of the season well we might see the starters maybe go another series maybe take it into the fourth quarter and then I think we'll really start to see uh the second and third string guys getting guys that probably will get a lot of action uh on Mondays when the JB play but when you're up 33 nothing uh you probably don't want to keep your starters in too long and know get those second and third guys some valuable experience that can pay off down the road during the season tough Ryan hands off and again up the middle they're running back kraton Nesbit with a long [Music] gameon kraton follows his blockers right through there nice block by Ben Hampton and the crew up the gut so nesb getting his first Carry I think that kind of signals that Bo butner's KN might start to either be completely done or uh starting to get massively reduced but uh don't blame coach Butner for that Bo having a really good I think good doesn't describe I think pretty extraordinary uh start to the year would be a good accurate word to describe the performance tonight second and one Bears will pounded again up the middle and again that's n very good that line has done a great job punching holes in the Mount Spokane defense looks like CR might have whacked his hand on a helmet there he's in a little bit of pain less than a minute left in the third quarter Bear Nation is smiling as the Bears are opening the season strong up 330 desmit once again couple of nice moves into the secondary The Tackle by Mason Shaw but not until after a beautiful gain of about 20 yards by you mentioned Michael we have a number of players on both teams that play both directions here my guess is the bear offense has been on the field a little bit longer I'm sorry they have been on the field a little bit longer which means the mount bokan defense might be wearing down as well well when you consider that mount Spokan has five or six of their guys that go both ways I mean again it's a lot of snaps at of Varsity level game and when you consider that know the Bears have a couple of those guys but not as many uh it's a good luxury to have that depth when you can have guys just play one side of the ball they get a little break on the side when the other side is on the field uh it's just a great luxury to have as a one as a game continues to go on but when you start getting five six weeks into the season you have those they're not taking on as many snaps not as many hits it's just a good way to build depth and keep your guys fresh as you start getting into those games in late October and then into November we'll put a new 12 minutes on the board and be back for the fourth quarter Bears big over Mount Spokan on the Central Valley YouTube channel [Music] cont [Music] ass those purchase [Music] oh boy here we go Nation hot dogs in the concession stand [Music] oh centr Valley marching band pep band firing up the crowd here and the cheer squad see cat Barrett and your uh band leaders we're all very excited about the score and the first game of the season great to have you along on the Central Valley YouTube channel as we're back to action the fourth quarter with the Bears up 33 to nothing head to the concession stand support boosters and get your that'll be Katon nbon get on the stop for Mount Spokane number 42 Zack Van Hook 59 [Applause] [Music] senior Bears may be pretty content to keep it on the ground here and grinded out with a substantial lead here in the fourth quarter looks like we have two split on the near side one on the far side is tough Ryan takes the snap I think that one was intended for number 15 Canon Dans little bit off the mark third and six fourth and six this is why we put the scoreboard on the bottom so the announc wouldn't make any [Applause] mistakes honestly producer Uh Kevin and Kaden here have done a great job spiffing up the broadcast we hope you enjoy it it certainly is a pleasure to work with them and bring you all the uh excitement of bear Athletics here on the channel tough Ryan doing a great job on his opening night performance he be quarterback there but just a little bit off Target and some good defense by the mount Spokan Defender as you'll see on Kevin's replay here well the Wildcats were playing a zero coverage so they had no they had everybody up within about seven or eight yards of the line of scrimmage and I think Ryan made that read and knew he had a he had a route over the middle and it was just a little bit off the target there but when you're up 33 nothing uh it's just something to go look back on film on how you can you know get the timing down there but not something that hurt to too B that hurt to uh too much here in a game where you're up 3 three points Canon Deans was the intended target [Music] there Mount Spokane on the run up the middle nice run by Mason Shaw the senior beard B beard on the stop for Central Valley had a chance to uh visit with the officials on their way in at halftime it's pretty warm out there but again athletes seem to have done a great job staying hydrated and thank goodness for the Cool Breeze that Central Valley is known for this time of year [Music] rer Tweety again nice toss on the far side incomplete and that was number two Jason Bonnett it looks like in on the tackle for the Bears number 39 Owen Beal the 61 Jr nice job Owen m just over Midfield with a first and 10 Nice Shot of the mount Spokan Faithful over there nice crowd for both teams on the first night of GSL action nice move as number one Luke merkelbach goes right then he goes left nice gain on that play looks like we have an injury timeout I think that's one of the Bears that's down on the sideline over there on the M banon area it looks like uh I think that's Ryan John's that's down on down on the sideline over in the mount Spokan area looks like he might be cramping up he looks like he might be cramping [Applause] up so again the Bears will be on the road for the greasy pig contest with their rals at University next Friday night then we have two home games and of course you never want to miss homecoming so make sure be alumni families y'all come celebrate with us versus the me Panthers that's always a tough contest with that team that'll be September 20th here at the stadium celebrating homecoming then on September 27th another big night as the wall of fame inductions of our new bear Legends will be during the feris halftime and and before the game so make sure you get her early that's September 27th here at SD Hansen field looks like Ryan is able to shake it off and trainer Lexi there and Coach Butner I wouldn't expect him to get a whole lot of more snaps tonight I think the coach butner's going to going to realize that and try not to put too many more guys at at risk I mean you you're always at risk for an injury in this sport in this sport at any time that you're on the field but I think getting any time you get a cramp you're you're starting to cramp up and you're up 33 points you're just a little more uh precautionary with those type of things when you uh have this type of situation over center for the Wildcats that's Lance Ary the snap to Tweety and the long throw downfield incomplete looks like we'll have a flag on the bear Defender there number 18 Whitten Fletcher Whitten doing his best there to defend number two Jason Bonnet but contact was called and it'll be pass interference in a wildcat first down well we have two well there were two flags thrown on that so I think we're so both officials one on the sideline and the one in the middle of the field were pretty uh pretty confident in what they saw to call pass interference and I don't think it was necessarily on the contact as the ball arrived it might have been uh on the cut outside of on the route on the cut of the route to the outside that maybe there was a bit of a grab maybe a bit of a restriction uh but not necessarily anything when the ball arrived it was probably something that happened prior to the ball uh arriving on that pass great job by the officiating crew to get that all ironed out and it's Mount Spokane football first and 10 we know the wild cats would like to get on the board and they're in the Red Zone 944 left in the game coach cl's crew will signal in the play play clock is not running so uh the Wild Cats won't need to worry about a penalty here neighborh Valley yeah it looked like they just spot had to get the spot correct and they ended up marching a couple more yards further than where the line of scrimmage was we're giving you some super video tonight folks isn't this great along with the new stadium lights and of course the expertise from our producers Kevin and Kaden we're getting some great camera angles to show you all the [Applause] action Luke mobach that looks like a gain of about eight yards before he stopped by a host of Central Valley bears clock continues to run with 9 minutes left in the [Music] game bear boosters put on a terrific tailgate here that uh all the players will attend after the game so some good eats tonight looks like it'll be a a celebration for be Nation tonight Tweety's pass what a nice touch he has on the ball but thanks to good defense by tough Ryan that one's incomplete but perhaps we didn't see what the officials saw because I think a flag was tossed on that and it'll probably be interference on the Bears well I think that well the thing that H that made that pretty I mean that put any doubt into that was was the was not turning back to find the ball I think that you know I think we got a lot of the second string guys in uh that are playing now and sometimes those are the guys that just uh aren't quite used to getting their head turned around whenever the ball is in the air and whenever you're chasing and the receiver is be is behind you uh you just forget to turn your head and locate the ball when it's in the air and know sometimes it doesn't take very much contact to draw the pass interference call anything that may signal that you're restrict the receiver and you're not looking back to locate the football it's going to be a p it's you're going to put uh you're going to make you're going to give the official uh a reason to throw the flag and despite his oops I didn't do that it is a penalty and it'll be first and goal for Mount smook again Tweety looks deep cor of the end zone but his pass is intercepted take a look at the replay and you'll see that it's Max Barker At Your Service marination and Max pulls down a well- earned interception wow I think well I think Tweety wanted to get this ball further to the right side of the end zone but as you'll see he's throwing off his back foot and anytime you aren't able to step into the throw you end up sailing that ball in the air a little bit longer than you'd like and you give the safety and ability to make a play on it and Max Barker with that interception in the end zone uh gets the ball back for the Bears on the 20 yd line and he coach Harmon there's two takeaways for your defense there in the second half and our Legendary Legendary PA voice Chuck Bowen cheering on bear nation has a another turnover we'll make it be football and we have a new quarterback in for the Bears that's shareif Wade number four I think we're starting to real I you know I know the temperatures have probably cooled down even more maybe around 77° but even at this hour it's still warm on that Turf and it's not really the first or the second quarter that we started to see the cramping become an issue but whenever you have whenever you start the G with warm temperatures it's the third and the fourth quarter when you start to see some of that uh affect the players after they've been running around on the field for nearly 2 and 1/2 hours so a quick snapshot of what we have for you coming up that incredibly fun idea of playing volleyball in the stadium is actually going to happen here on September 12th so make sure you are here to cheer on your bear volleyball team when they take on our Rivals from University and thanks again to our friends at savore Building Center building supply who are going to furnish a subfloor to put right out there on the CV and we're going to build a volleyball court right here at sigt Hansen field it's going to be a ton of fun to watch Sheamus and sandwiches will also be uh providing some help for that particular event so thank you all for being be boosters and again with be Nation donation coming up we've got some great positive momentum out there in the community so please if you can show your support for all of our 1200 CV bear students with a generous donation this year so Sharie way taking the snap now for the Bears he'll throw to the outside this time it's complete to John Scott number 37 he's a 58 sophomore on Kevin's replay you'll see the tackle there by number six from Mount Spokan that's Cody Brer and another one down with the cramps right around the third 25 yd line it's always fun to go to the greasy Pig game at University when there's more blue in the stands than red so plan next Friday night for a great game Titans in action tonight up North so it'll be the Bears and the Titans and I've even lost track of how many times they've played well it's been many but I'll tell you what I don't think there's been very many years where we've seen the greasy Pig play this early in the season just going to be the second game uh for both the Titans and the Bears and uh just uh I again I can't remember off the top of my head where they've ever where we've had the greasy Pig the second game of the season it's always a great matchup so we hope that you'll be there for all the fun and excitement as the Bears renew their rivalry with the Titans at University next Friday night we'll be back here for homecoming night on the 20th it'll be a pleasure again to work with producer Kevin and Kayon and Michael and myself here with you with the second best seat in the house on the Central Valley YouTube channel snap to wait he'll step up and fire over the middle incomplete 730 left in the game fourth down for the Bears [Applause] want to make sure we mentioned that our softball players are in action so come out and support your CV bear softball team always some great action and uh some great talent I'll get you caught up on the schedule here in a couple of plays there's the snap and the punt by Butner it'll take a CV bounce Ben Hampton Johnny on the spot there to down it first and 10 for Mount Spokane so September is busy for bar Nation everything from cross country softball and of course even up to our marching B lots of activities so just looking at next week we'll have varsity and JB soccer on the road but we'll have JB football at CV versus Mount Spokan VAR City Softball Monday versus East Valley [Music] and the CB theater is already for auditions that begin on Tuesday next home Sports Action for the Bears will be varsity and junior varsity soccer on the 11th when the Bears take on pman right here in the [Music] stadium maybe a little too much time there for Mount spok to get the snap off I think it's more of I think it was more of I think it was more of nobody knew what the snap count was I think we saw six or seven guys that all flinched before the before the ball and that hard to tell who really gets credit for committing the penalty when you have five or six different guys move as one official I think put it in the NFL when you're was like everybody but the center so rer tweeti will fix the cross connections there and bring his Wild cats up to the line first and 15 Man in Motion gets the ball Luke merkelbach as you can see on the replay a nice move the bear that tracks him down was number 45 Ben beard beard fourth quarter up three and Maiden beard still bringing the lumber still bringing the lumber out there there's number 45 lots of great expectations for senior sport athletes and everyone seems to be proud and excited about tonight completion Tweety and that goes for a Mount Spokane first down the reception by Luke mobach Mount Spokan now just over Midfield with about six minutes left in the [Music] game Varsity action next week we mentioned that uh the Bear football team will be on the road so make sure you come for the [Applause] varsity volleyball game on Thursday the 12th again that'll be right here in the stadium the first time ever for Bear volleyball when they take on the University High Titans Tackle by number 44 Anthony turko there on the first down [Applause] play Crow even more fired up than they were at kick off here as a great performance by the Bears has him up 33 to nothing to my side stage right Michael Barnhart I'm Dwayne barnhard along with our engineers and Camera professionals Kevin igland who does some incredible things at Ridgeline high school and also with the theater programs here at our school and Kaden angos Tweety fires incomplete with a little inspiration there by Wally Palmer who was the defender on the play Let's Take a look at it again again a real nice quick release there but Waller was or Wally was right on the spot there and a good and a good form uh good form hit there he just went in wrapped up like he was going to tackle also Jarred the bar loose at the same time but he not not trying to do too much and that's really how you want how you want to coach a linebacker to knock the ball out while also delivering a good hit at good hit at the same time [Applause] and the snap from Nathan L Weber twe's pass is complete this time Brendan Hughes with the reception as Mount Spokan continues to move it down the field we'll move the markers for another Mount Spokan first down at the 40 wild first down [Applause] [Music] [Music] twey fires just a little bit too much real estate there to cover Luke bobach the intended receiver let's see how the bear Defenders react on that one we had two back including Max Barker and number 39 Owen Beal we basically had that one big play that ended up coming back due to a Mount Spokane penalty otherwise uh the bear defense has really held the wild cats offensively tonight Hughes carry he breaks [Applause] through and with a first down will take Mount Spokan into the Red Zone look like the look like a few of the Bears kind of tackled themselves on that play as we saw well and Tyler Bissell fought off a block and I don't know how he made that tackle but he was able to get just enough contact in after the block to uh knock Hughes off his feet so hope for the Wildcats to get on the board here late in the game first and 10 at the 25 and again the Man in Motion gets the ball that's Kash [Applause] tuuga cash with a short gain there looking for small victories here it would be nice for the wild cats to put something on the board before the end of this [Applause] one all right students again the Man in Motion gets the ball from Mount Spokan that would be Quincy malakas good to see him back after some cramping issues there so on the replay again you'll see the quick stop the Quick Change of Direction and a nice tackle in there by the Bears number 20 that's Liam Reen clock continues to run with 245 left in the game [Music] so we have four wide with one in motion for Mount Spokan as TWY winds up pass though incomplete again to malakas good defense here as the replay will show well just not a lot of space to throw that ball in the middle I mean I I mean the middle dip was open for a little bit but a great recovery speed by the be linebackers to make that pass pretty difficult not necessarily to throw but to just catch Max Parker had them all wrapped up so we're down to a fourth and five for Mount Spokane Ball's on the 20 as bar Nation cheers on the [Applause] defense and that pass will fall incomplete yeah baby no Flags intended for number 26 nahi Vargas I'm sorry n Vargas the 63 senior and great and great coverage there by Bissell I think he knew that the Bears were playing a zero coverage and he was going to pretty much be one-on-one out there he got the in got the inside position very good awareness to turn his head and look for the ball no probably anticipating it was coming his way and not to make any contact with the receiver ball was overthrown nice clean play there by Bissell let that to get the turnover on Downs for the defense and on come the Bears just a little over two minutes left in the first game of the season bears in home blue hand off again will go up the middle this time that's number 34 Steven Stacy looks like tough Ryan has returned as the quarterback you see on the line there number 52 Preston Thorne done a great job this evening Isaiah Smith number 72 right next to him Big Ben Hampton and number 54 Rex vanhees [Applause] [Music] and up the gut number 34 Steven Stacy that should be about three yards shy of a first down based on how coach cl's managing his three timeouts I don't think he wants to call one but we're probably just one first down away from the Bears going into Victory formation for the night we so appreciate the opportunity to serve you with this bear broadcast on the Central Valley YouTube channel if you can do us a favor and make sure people know that we're here it's easy to share with you to please to leave your comments and uh please as the weeks continue come out and support your Bears nice run there by tough Ryan that's going to be good for a bare first down and he'll probably seal it pretty much seal the game for the night the only thing I might coach Butner might tell him on that place to maybe slide a little bit earlier so he doesn't put him at risk for that for that hit but I think that he might just get a snap here he just has to take a knee and then this thing will be done you know I've been holding it off for the whole night cuz you don't want to jinx it but we're get to the central defense in game one of this 2024 season is going to pitch a shut out student body do not jump the F student body do not jump so that's going to be a conversation coach Harmon these guys on defense coach Butner know you nice to beat a team like mpan 33 nothing but when you can shut out a team like Mel can that just makes that just puts a little more satisfaction in the victory of game one of the season so a big win against a story program from the north side as you have witnessed the central Ry Bears 1 and0 on the new season with a 33 to nothing victory over Mount smokane And as your CV marching band place the school song we're here to say good night on behalf of all of us here at the centr Bell YouTube channel producers Kevin and K your Julie Dwayne and my son Michael barnhard thank you so much and go be first game started in [Music] 1963 make your plans to get over to you high and support your C bears e e e e e e e
