I was at the Nebraska Colorado game last night here in Lincoln and it was eye openening you've likely been there with me seeing the fans around you engaging in the same old drunken behaviors that you once did and as the drinks flow and the energy intensifies it's hard not to recognize yourself in that chaos but here's the surprising truth you're actually having more fun watching the game sober because being sober you experience the game in this whole new way you've never had before you're fully present you're taking in every play cheer an exciting moment without the haze of alcohol and you truly enjoy that atmosphere the camaraderie and the thrill of the game without all the ups and downs that come from being intoxicated instead of losing yourself in the bottle you're fully immersed in the experience and seeing others caught up in the drunken Whirlwind as a reminder of how far you've come sobriety isn't about missing out it's about truly showing up and enjoying life to the fullest
