Intro welcome back folks I'm Jake Ellen Bogan today we're going to wrap up finally the offensive line uh portion of this series before we dive into it be sure to like subscribe and comment also be sure to follow me on all social media at JK Bogan let's get started AJ Arcuri okay so the player we're talking about today is AJ R Curry the 26-year-old offensive tackle at a Michigan State of course the Rams drafted him in the seventh round 262nd overall in the 2022 draft the same draft the Rams drafted Logan bruss and our Curry somebody that I came away a little bit more intrigued with um you know doing some more research on I thought he had a really uh intriguing um you know pre-season in 2023 2022 was not good but 2023 he showed some signs so um let's get started you know he's 67 he's 38 pound I of course love putting out when you don't have um you know a ton of production especially in the regular College Stats season which you don't have with our Curry at all I like bringing out the r score I like bringing out the college stats so forth so uh let's get started with that he had a 96 percentile vertical an 87th percentile height an 83rd percentile bench press and of course an 80th percentile broad jump he gave up six sacks and 27 pressures and 738 pass protection reps while at Michigan State I think you could say he's an average run blocker uh probably a better pass protector if I'm being honest at a 97.8 efficiency rating uh in pass Pro played 1,13 starting reps at left tackle and 382 at right tackle um so right away this is definitely a guy that has a lot of experience playing in the Big 10 playing at a high level and you know protecting the quarterback's Blan spot so that's a good that's a good sign um now with pre-season and his stats there he gave up a sack and eight pressures and 88 snaps total um 2022 seven pressures and a sack in 2023 however he only gave up one pressure and no sacks he played 64 snaps only all of them being at left tackle in 2023 as opposed to 202 2 he had 72 snaps at left tackle and 39 at right tackle so R Curry is an interesting player because right now he is blocked they went out they got you know of course Jonah Jackson they brought back Kevin doson those guys are guards right so it doesn't really affect our Curry but then you look at the fact that Noom is back so you have Noom you have aler Jackson you sign Conor mcder you sign Matt casy okay Matt casy was great in the UFL and Conor mcdermit started five games last year for the New England Patriots you have Warren McClendon Jr you have KT leveston these are guys that can play tackles so our Curry has quite uh the battle ahead of him um and I don't think he's going to make the team he didn't make the team last year so I don't think he's going to make the team this year I think looking back at his regular season reps I think that will hurt him in this case only you know he gave up six pressures in 37 pass protection reps and 70 total snaps at left tackle in 2022 and he spent all of 2023 on the practice squad so I think the big question with Can AJ Arcuri crack the 53 man roster our Curry is not can he crack the 53 man roster I think it's more so can he stick on the practice squad again cuz they also added Blake Larsson and udfa and they have some other guys as well that could you know you can't keep everybody in the practice squad as as much as they have been expanded over the years you're not going to be able to keep everybody so I guess the question is is AJR Curry worth keeping and developing on the practice squad he's 26 years of age is he worth it and to be honest with you I I think he is if you can fit him but I'm not going to cut somebody that I might be able to actually use throughout the season and call up off the practice squad throughout the season to keep AJ R Curry I'm just not doing that so I think it'll be uh very intriguing what he does in preseason um definitely curious to see where he is in the flow of things um but he doesn't feel like he's on the inside looking outside he looks like he's on the outside looking in So currently right now I would say R Will AJ Arcuri make the 53 man roster Curry is probably not making the 53 man roster um he has some some qualities that I find to be rather intriguing especially going back and looking at his preseason in 2023 who's a much better player more confident um so can he build off that can he have a really good preseason in 2024 that remains to be seen but I think it's possible and I'll be you know curious where he plays I think it'll probably be at left tackle probably be with the third stringers probably be in the third and fourth quarter but who knows you know maybe they like him more than we realize that remains to be seen I will say this I also didn't mention Logan bruss is also a tackle now would he be ahead of bruss I think R Curry might be ahead of bruss right now I really do because he can play both left and right tackle he's somebody that's actually seen regular season reps and I mean I'm not overly high on where Logan bruss is right now I think another guy who just needs to be kind of stashed and developed on the practice squad I don't know if they'll ever you know be what they expected um but you know there is that so I think Key to AJ Arcuris success the important key here with our Curry is to remember that all of these guys have a certain quality otherwise they wouldn't be on this team and this guy he's a decent athlete he's had success as a pass proteor if he can get better in the Run game um he might be able to at some point make 53 man roster but I think currently that's holding him back in the lack of experience which you know you only get experience by actually doing something and uh you know he really only going to get a shot with preseason so we'll see what ends up happening again that 98.6 efficiency rating and pass protection in 2023 uh preseason is something that I'm curious to see if he'll build off of only giving up one pressure in 88 snaps um you know that or excuse me one pressure in uh 72 snaps at left tackle and 39 at right tackle um that's Outro impressive so we'll we'll see what ends up happening um I'm not you know saying R Curry is 100% going to make this team I'm not even saying he's going to make the practice squad but he's got enough there where you have the offensive line coaching and all that and the injuries it might flush him into a role but we're going to see what ends up happening those are my thoughts 2024 I can't expect our Curry to end up having any sort of role outside of being on that practice squad but stranger things have happened we'll see what does end up happening but that's it it that is it for the offens alignment I know there are other offens alignment I did not get to um this series does take a while uh going through each and every player so I am going to cut most of the offensive line that's remaining out and I figured I would wrap it up with our Curry uh Logan bruss and and Zach Thomas so those are my thoughts on those uh well on the offensive line if you haven't already check out the other offens lineman videos if you want to learn
