Matthew Boyd Breaks Down Start Against Pirates

um yeah gosh Bo was great behind the plate he was uh you know reading what the situation was kind of bringing us and um reading the swings and you know it was good he was he was solid back there and um you know that was a huge reason why yeah yeah ironically it's a play that Kai gr taught me in San Francisco and uh and um he fall off hard that side it's um you know sometimes it's when he gets to a foot race he's always going to be within reach if it's a you know throw in that region so uh yeah I just figured you know Miss the call or whatever but yeah worked out how do you keep your kind of focus you know the one run that they scored off you one what a single inside the right field right field line and double inside the left field line by inches yeah I mean um you just got to keep making pictures right like it it's uh it sounds cliche but right it's like all I can do is execute my pitch right good batter and different and and the result and uh you know whatnot like it's it's uh it's out of my control in that sense right and it's like you take both those pitches and and yeah they're soft hit but you know they could have been better you know but that's that's how I'm going to grade myself on every pitch regardless of the result even on a swing a miss right like it's like did you want to put it there or not whatnot so um it happens that's baseball you know and uh you just make the next pitch um yeah it's it's getting better you know um I just I feel like with the drou it's just uh um you know we're just we're we're growing and building off it and um getting in more of a rhythm and and so on and so forth right just from the long layoff so uh uh definitely definitely things I can come out of this and and and work on but it was um you know those those were working and that's a lot of credit to Bo too back there you know with the with how he was calling the game and um you know reading the swings and just sequencing stuff this long journey how was it good for just a No it's it's um it feels great you know the goal is to to go out there and and compete every single pitch right and um um yeah it's been uh it's been going and it's been going good and um you know that being said like always things are going to be be able to work on and and grow from and um and uh but yeah that's um you know I'm I'm very grateful for the way you know like I'm healthy going out there competing every pitch right those are the things I'm you know truly grateful for what's you added incentive your position to be pitching in games like this that means something yeah as you get into September it's amazing it's amazing you know I got to play in the uh on the postseason push you know when we were fighting for that final Wild Card fighting for a wild card spot in Seattle in 22 and it was um I got to experience it in 2016 to in my second year in the big leagues but when you're when you're for me I was I was still trying to figure out who I was as a pitcher right at that time so I wasn't really fully grasping everything that was going on was I like God this is the big leagues this is sick um but uh all those tough years right in between and then in 22 get to experience that it was invigorating so you know it's something that when you walk out the Dugout and the Stadium's packed at you know 6:15 it's like uh or not 6:15 you know whatever time we walk out 5:30 right before game it's like this is awesome you know the energy it's it's it's exciting and uh we all feel it and we're really grateful for this fan base and uh something we don't take lightly you know we're really excited um you know it's uh really grateful for the uh you know how Cleveland Gets behind us cool
