I was a very poor student I have ADD and I didn't know that back then but at night I was out every night with my telescope uh I was building model rockets and wanted to be a scientist you know it's uh something that I dreamed about but told that uh you know you better do something else don't bother applying to colleges because you just don't have the aptitude don't have the test course one day I was flipping through a National Geographic and there was a handdrawn picture of the uh of a mountain at the bottom of the sea by Bob Ballard and that did something to me I can't explain it it threw a switch and I didn't get suddenly smarter but I did get focused and hopefully somewhere along the line I'm hoping that we produce I produce an image that will stimulate other other people in the same situation so
