2024 Devonport World Triathlon ParaSeries Overview

[Music] good afternoon and welcome to race one of the world Triathlon par Series in beautiful downtown devonport in Tasmania been looking forward to this all year of since um last year's event went now officially into the Paro Olympic qualification period I expect really fast racing today it's a flat course um few technical areas um especially at the far end of the bike course there's a train line to negotiate some um chicanes and u-turns but uh apart from that it is very fast course and particularly at the Eastern end of the course on the run league ladies and Gentlemen please welcome the pts5 male athletes of the 2024 well Triathlon par series devonport wearing 525 from Australia David Bryant wearing 526 from Australia Jack Hal wearing 530 from Spain jro Ruiz Lopez the swimmers are away yeah look you're really only thinking about your first 20 30 Strokes just getting out clear getting into your Race speed and then trying to get a Cider on that first turning boy so for these athletes that have come from all over the world chasing those precious points to get on that start line in Paris so really looking forward to today's race a [Applause] so Finley Jake from Great Britain so he's done his pre-transition he's now heading up to his bike to head out on the bike course while you need to be ranked in the top nine in the world you also they only take two spots per Federation you were talking about that before isn't it so it's uh it's races between races so great view there of Jack Hal not far from the turnaround on the far end of the course and he's taken out the world Trion Paris series here in devonport Oceana champion and there indeed is the Victor Rena goes across the line in first position our second place Allison P good from Great Britain what a fantastic race so her transition to triathon you can see the emotion she comes from an athletic background so for her have a look at that emotion oh [Music] great that's Anu Francis from Australia in the pts 2 Division yeah I think it was just really really process driven just um being really you know kind of sensible out on the on the bike course really just taking that extra bit of care and came to a really good um sort of hit out on the course Recon yesterday and um just kind of get the mind and the right mindset to know you know there was I slipped on a patch of oil it wasn't anything to do with my handling skills and just knowing I could I could get out there and do it sort of I think really just mind over matter and just trusting in my training really [Music] it's Giovani Anza from Italy he's going to take the gold medal here in devonport in first place and the winner of the gold medal at the 2024 World Tria on Paris series devonport representing Italy Giovani aena [Music]
