[Music] hi and welcome back to the I film and TV channel you're all staying safe and well go to ITV X today so yes uh some interesting stuff on here a bit bit eclectic mix of stuff uh Thrillers to dramas and an Eclectic mix of quality as well so i' going to have a look at one today that's not exactly well the critics don't seem to like it too much there's not that many about U Lucy Mangan for one didn't like it too much but going to have look at a four episode ITX thing which is quite good actually because they do try and keep it down to about four episodes which is is pretty useful perhaps a bit too much in this case unfortunately but uh we're going to have a look at a psychological thrill the class it has but I would call it a psychological Supernatural Thriller we're going to and it' be great to hear from you yes set platform 7 forpart psychological Supernatural I've added Thriller television series based on the 2019 novel platform 7 by Louise do so if you've read that one Supernatural was released on ITV X on the 7th of December 2023 and I'm recording this on the what date we today I forgot what date is 12th of December yes 12th of December 2023 uh this as it with most ITV X showings will uh also uh show on itv1 a later day I want to say about it tells a story of Lisa who witnesses a cataclysmic event on platform 7 cataclysmic okay um yeah of a railway station and in her memory finds a connection between her own life and the event she just witnessed yesterday she's lost her memory and by the way Lisa is a ghost so there you go so let's uh we'll get that out of the way straight away this Stars Jasmine jobson as Lisa Toby regbo as a guy called Matt yarmin chowri as aash phille Davis as Edward Emily KY as Ella and Patrick Robinson as Trevor Internet movie day space not a lot of scores when I look yesterday before I recorded this it was at 7 out of 10 with 104 which will probably be a thumbnail later showing that score 7 out of 10 but I think now cuz obviously there's so few reviews coming in at the moment 120 so far it's now showing 6.6 so it's dropping a little bit and I'm not I won't be surprised if that drops a little bit more In fairness and that really brings me to me guys as I said Lucy Mangan didn't like it particularly from the guardian but there's nothing on Rotten Tomatoes to give me a view for this and I will be honest with you you're really touching brain off territory with this one which isn't a bad thing if in a stressful world just to sit back and just turn your brain off and enjoy something on screen it's a sort of well you think of the ghost film of course the classic film uh with the whoopy Goldberg more swayy of course it's a homage to that there's lots of elements of that within this if you like and there's uh one or two twists that yeah even with your brain off out of gay uh sort of you think you know you know what's going to happen uh but I think there's no doubt if you do get through the first two episodes of this it does improve and I found episodes three and four quite entertaining uh in a in a sort of expected way but still entertaining enough as I say you got to be I think you got to be in the right frame of mind to watch this if you like sort of ghosty sort of the stuff I it is fantasy don't expect anything to makes too much sense at least in ghost we we tended to find out how certain ghost skills that he he sort of learned over time by moving objects Etc we found out how they are learn didn't particularly just happen as he tend to do in this but obviously we can put two and two together and make four of course we can but yeah it sort of helps the story along doesn't it and the acting in this is very typical uh for a British series British cast uh from from pretty poor to to okay and good it's just a a mixed bag of acting Talent unfortunately but I think four episodes by the end of it as said even though I found episodes three and four quite entertaining it does overdo it a little bit this is this is a straight for streaming one off effort that I would have been surprised to see at Christmas time uh a 90minut drama uh Supernatural drama cuz it may have worked better they could have cut out some of the rubbish and um of course looking through some of the personal reviews from from Watchers on Internet Movie Database some people didn't get through the first episode so sort of it would would have helped being cut down to 90 minutes but in a simple way I thought it was okay I thought it was it was okay it offers very little that's new on the horns in front uh though it did does make me want to go back and watch that afo mentioned suy and Demi more ghost film of course which I've not seen for a long long time but it sort of made me want to go back and watch that is that a good thing possibly why not apart from it it takes me away from watching newer stuff but hey there you go so my scores I'd have to be on Metacritic I'd have to be mixed on this Rotten Tomatoes uh I'd have to be positive just just on this one and I'm going to give it not a minimum score I'm going to give it an extra five so it's not a watchable score because some you won some of you won't like this some some some of you be bored by this very quickly but I'm going to give this a 5.5 out of 10 based on on what s and just as I said just literally just sit back and enjoy it for what it is and don't don't think too much about it and you might get something out of it in a supernatural little haunting way thanks for watching guys let me know your thoughts straight away from you to
