the message from state troopers overnight there's no truth to indicate there was any shooting or violence at the fairgrounds on Sunday night despite the rumors going around despite the rush of people who felt scared enough to run away from the concert at Suburban park run away from the Midway all scared by something this rumor spread in part because of social media despite no truth to any of it police say at least three calls were made to either the 911 Center or State Fair security dispatch that triggered their investigation which so far has come up with no evidence to support a shooting state troopers investigated overnight looking for any clues around the Midway and around Elsewhere on the fairgrounds still nothing nothing to confirm a shooting we're trying to determine exactly why want someone would report this we don't know if they were they thought they heard shots fired if they were thinking that that's what they heard but reality was there's no evidence of any type of shooting that occurred in the fairs um would uh are we talking a dozen calls a 100 calls okay to my knowledge we only have received that I have that we reported three within a short period of time which is another good indicator that something you know nefarious was going on in regards to a fake call whether it was swatting whether it was something else uh it was determined that all those reports were false the state fair is scheduled to open as usual as scheduled for its final day at the state Fairgrounds Andrew Donovan News Channel 9
