Trending searches: why can't you wear green in brazil
So Yesterday Josh Jacobs was on green light with Chris long and was talking about the Packers versus Eagles game which will be in Brazil in week one to start the 2024 season and let me just share what he had to say and then continue to what has happened since that point I got to ask you you're going to open the season against my Eagles down in Brazil man what are you most excited about you know they said that the part of Brazil we going to you can't even wear green at really yeah why they said like I guess something to do with the gangs and stuff oh dude I'm not going I'm not going they said we not going to Rio we going they said they told us they they was like man it's one of them places where they probably won't even let us leave a full team oh damn I'm not going what color yeah what color green they probably GNA have like armor vehicles I said bro why are we out here are we here I'm picturing Josh Jacobs like hanging out on Beach but it doesn't sound like that kind of trip bro I was looking forward to it I'm like we about to be it's about to be a fun week they got telling us all of that they like yeah no it's not going to be like all right so since that point there has been lots of discussion about about this since that point the NFL came out with a statement earlier today this is from an article from front office Sports they said this the NFL denied that the Packers and Eagles would not be allowed to wear uniforms with green at their season opening game September 6th in Brazil because allegedly the color is affiliated with gangs there the league also denied that the teams would be restricted to their hotels with armored vehicles taking them to the stadium but NFL Chief spokesperson Brian McCarthy wrote in a text of the idea the teams couldn't wear green and wouldn't be under and would be under heavy scrutiny no neither of these items are true one of the host Stadium's rival clubs wears green but the league did not say players could not wear green that is false multiple League officials from across the league have made multip planning trips as with any International game we have com comprehensive security plans in place coordinated with local officials again there was no guidance provided to the clubs as suggested here when asked if he could share the guidance he declined but added it's the standard policies and procedures for international travel so I guess they're the team that the Packers and Eagles the stadium they're playing at in Brazil is home to a team whose rival wears green so I think that's why this idea when it comes to not being able to wear green came out cuz at first I just saw some random tweet yesterday saying that neither team was allowed to wear green and I was thinking like what are they both going to wear white I wasn't sure what was happening but since that point looking at all this the NFL is saying that um at least the officials did not tell them that but clearly someone was talking to Josh Jacobs because Josh Jacobs seemed to you know have some information from somewhere but apparently I guess it's not completely at least from the NFL and then Josh Jacobs went on to Instagram on a story and said here I was misinformed formed sorry Brazil see you soon so it sounds like teams can wear green and that um it's not exactly what it sounded like initially so if there's any more information on this I'll let you guys know if you want more Packers content feel free to subscribe down below thank you for watching and I'll see you guys next time
