I mean short form content of like you know aie film The long form make it short form I think is the best way to do it I agree so okay all right well I will get on that one second all right just let me know whenever you're ready brother yeah just just taking a quick note here too uh [Music] okay okay yeah I think I should be good all right all right Mr Willard we're talking some Miami football they're going against the Gators in the swamp this Saturday got five questions for you number one your best estimation for how many yards touchdowns and all the rest the cam ward has against the gator this weekend what do you got yeah I mean there's no kind of a tougher situation to throw a new quarterback in for the hurricans obviously you know he's been around the block you know his time at incarnate Ward was a star there you know was able to break out in the scene at Washington State on a national level now he comes to Miami honestly we're not you know the Hurricanes aren't going against you know a top five team in the country but you're going into a hostile environment you got to respect it's an SEC opponent no matter you know people thinking Florida is going to win five four games whatever it may be this year it's still an opponent you can't Overlook and when it comes to cam Ward you know he has so many offensive weapons around him whether it's Damen Martinez you know being able to hand the ball off too he's got jacobe George uh Xavier trepo Sam Brown I know is a guy people are really high on Elijah Royo is it time for him to break out if I were to estimate cam Ward stats for this game I'd say a shy under 300 yards maybe 280 I think three touchdowns and I do think he does have one turnover whether that is an interception or a fumble I don't know much about the rushing yards if they're going to do too much with him getting out of the pocket and rushing with his feet be on the line of scrimmage but I'll leave it at that with the passing stats uh as where I think he'll end up with this in this game I I kind of agree I think that he'll have a few runs where he needs to get some yards this is one of the few games that I think that he would more more likely to elicit some opportunities and take off but you're right I think passing the ball is where it's at I actually think he'll go a tad over 300 but I think the numbers will be similar the thing that I'm concerned about and for those who don't know PFF has him with 14 fumbles last year that is a horrendous number and I'm sure Ford is going to try to get the ball out so that's something to watch number two this is maybe the most difficult question I'm going to ask you today we're not sure on the mark Fletcher situation is he back from The Wiz Frank injury completely is it just wait and see they need to let him go out on the field and run around before they know like I'm gonna look at this two ways if Fletcher plays it's going to be him and Martinez I would assume like if he's good to go that's pretty simple but assuming he doesn't play who Do You Think the main backup will be to Damen Martinez to transfer from Oregon State and part two when they're in pass Pro situations and Martinez Gass like he just ran a route or whatever who comes into the game if he's not he's big dude he's 225 230 yeah who comes into the game because pass protection I'm concerned about because Ward already is a fumbler yeah know I mean Aussie a big thing to address I think I don't know if Mark Fletcher is gonna get more than 10 touches in this game I think that's the he would get if he does play in this game I think it's going to be tough for him to get out there I think looking at some guys that could be in uh you know in line to be that second back obviously you know Chris Johnson was a guy that was featured a lot during spring when I was out there AJ Allen obiously had a role last year on the team and then Jordan Lyall has been a guy that's apparently impressed a lot throughout spring C I fall Camp so far so I think those are some options I'd probably think AJ Allen would get it given his experience level you know going into to this kind of almost a must-win game it kind of feels like people are tack tacking on this for Miami going into the swamp it's kind of a measuring yard game into how good they can be this season uh I also I was thinking you know maybe Jordan Lyall is that guy who's gonna be in pass bro you know he is a little bigger at six foot 190 compared to the other backs but then again at the same time you know it's a freshman do you want to put a true freshman out there to be able to be in pass protection so you know are you going to go with the AJ Allen you know who's 186 pounds I think it could be Chris Johnson only for the fact that you know you have him in pass Pro but he's also you know the ability to go out there and you know make catches in the field if he wants to check and release I think that that's a good option to run with so I'd say probably between AJ Allen and Chris Johnson I can't imagine they' throw a true freshman Jordan Lyall in there you know in a key situation where going against SEC defensive lineman linebackers to try and you know keep and canward up right yeah I think it's it's be a little bit dicey it's going to be more play based situational based I don't think there'll be a set Rotation by any means because they got so many skill sets I'm going to assume that Fletcher does not play if he does I look at it as a bonus but he's coming back from Liz Frank and those are just very odd injuries to come back from so they got to be careful but again the turnover situation is big concern I have when they're a pass bro so that brings up number three last year Miami at minimum struggled in big games with just the turnover that would just kill them will they win the turnover battle against the Gators and why it's a tossup because if you look at it the guys that were creating turnovers for Miami are no longer on the team you look at the top leaders and interceptions you know cam kitchens with five last year to Cory couch with three those guys are no longer on the team you know you're looking at a guy like Mee pow who comes over from Washington can he be that guy three interceptions last year on a national championship runner up but it's situation if I had to put my money on it I think it'd be more of a tie whether it's one1 or 22 and you know it's who can make the most of those opportunities when you force a turnover where are you are you on your own territory are you in the opponent's territory when you're forcing that turnover my best bet would probably be one-1 I think cam Ward you know they're really gonna be zoning in on keeping him upright and making sure that he's not fumbling the ball when he's running around so but I also do think that there's going to be a case where maybe that does happen or he does throw an interception and I do think one of Miami's you know new kind of Faces in this secondary uh you know can make a play or whether it's a guy on the defensive line you know a Ruben Bay a Tyler Baron you know Elijah Alon getting in there and forcing a strip sack on gr Merz we know he tends to you know take his time in the pocket at times or if he's moving around if Miami is able to set the edge you know a guy like Bane has shown that you know he can be a game wrecker or even you know Maui Goa you know the leader of that defense essentially you know in terms of Veteran and experience you know he's a guy that's up for several preseason Awards and you expect for him you know the Stars need to really come out for Miami in this game and uh but like I co go back to I think it's about a 1-1 uh turnover uh battle if that's the case I think Miami should take it now um playing on the road turnovers just they Jack a home crowd up so much and especially as you noted if you turn it over in your own end a fumble on a sack and they get the ball in the 18 or something that's really hard to overcome so yeah I think even would be pretty good for Miami the next one should favor the canes and definitively but I thought I would ask Miami as you noted earlier they've got jacobe George they got Restrepo they got guys like Jojo and Ray Ray coming off the bench they got Isaiah Horton they got Sam Brown they got some guys at receiver Florida's pass defense last year was 70th in the nation they gave up 2 26.7 and they also gave up especially like kind of like Miami with turnovers whenever they just couldn't give up the pass Florida gave up the pass like they just had terrible Jason Marshall gave up like 21 yards per catch like it's because he was such a highly recruited guy I thought for sure he was gonna be an NFL player like just hasn't been good at UF he's senior now we'll see if he turns it around but do you think anything with that tells you that Florida is going to be able to at least slow down Miami or are they gonna struggle with it I mean they'll definitely see improvements you know they're kind of hard to get worse than where they were last year but going into it you're going against a kind of a pick your poison offense you know especially if Miami decides to go in RPO situations you know where they're you have the threat of Damen Martinez running up the middle you know with one of the best offensive lines especially interior groups uh that you have there and you know the offensive weapons and like you mentioned you know Sam Brown Xavier rreo jacobe George Isaiah Horton you know all the other guys that should be coming off the bench for Miami it's it truly is you never know who you could be you know faced with who could be a problem because you don't want to focus all your attention on rreo because you got a guy in shobe George who was one of the leaders in touchdown catches in the ACC last year who can burn you on the outside and I know Sam Brown is someone that people are really high on you know in the NFL Community is a guy that can be potentially a top 50 Prospect if he's able to have the season people think he could at Miami this year I think it's going to be a problem for them but I also think that it won't be as explosive as this Miami offense can get because you're going in again to a hostile situation you know you want to hope you avoid those penalties you know that have been a problem from last year you know racking up those penalties but I do think that you know this is going to be uh the of offensive skill group for Miami that will be a strength I think it'll be a problem for Florida in this game and you know it's you know who do they decide to focus in on and who's gonna have you know have their own in that game I think that Miami can win a lot of the key third down battles and let's be honest close games often come down to third down passing situations it's not a news flash but they have a group that has seniors and they've got guys that are used to being in the spotlight like jacobe had three touchdowns against A&M last year or stpo has always been a leader for the Hurricanes Sam was a guy that Shannon Dawson knew when he was at the University of Houston they're bringing in those guys aoro I know I said receiver but like that's a guy I really hope he breaks out for his own that guy's been just hurt you know you kind of hope he just gets to play I I mean I don't know how good he is till I see him in a game I don't care what he does in practice and I saw him in the spring he was look good but I'd like to see him catch a couple balls just for his own sake but I think Miami should be able to be conveniently happy with their third down results and that should be a key for the game final question it's first game of the year it's hard to project dep charts and all that stuff even the Hurricanes themselves like Chris Ball I'm sure he has ideas but you know you play the hot hand name a player that you think will quote unquote break out or surprise against the University of Florida yeah I think Wesley Be saint is a guy that's kind of set up to be you know that next you know kind of linebacker the mai Goa to kind of take over for him when he's gone and really break out this year you know he was behind Cy flag you know last year at times KJ Cloyd got a lot of work but I really think he's gonna emerge on this team and he's kind of has to I feel like all the you know the stones stones are set everything's set for him to kind of take the leap to be the next you know a top linebacker in this conference I think think he's got the athletic skills to go with it I feel like he's got the character to go with it and I feel like you know that South uh you know the Florida battle uh you know between two of the big three in the state I feel like he's a guy that's not only GNA break out in this game but I think he's gonna have a great season for Miami and will be you know one of the returning Stars I'd imagine he'd return uh again for a SE senior season I think he'll be a great player for Miami going forward well that would be a great story for the canes because linebacker I mean they got some players but they're not dead set on how it's going to work besides Maui know like he had seven and a half sacks he's an All-American canidate everybody knows he's the guy at middle backer he might be the nation's best Blitzer as a linebacker yeah but Wesley's a local kid played at Miami Central he's a great guy excellent student you kind of root for those kind of players anyway but uh he's man he is fast and against Florida I'm curious to see how they use him if he's going to be more the coverage guy they go to bring him but he does have a lot of talent William thank you very much and uh let's see how the game goes It's going to be really interesting environment down in the swamp oh well plenty to talk about indeed
