the aces lose 98 to 887 against the Minnesota links from the opening minutes the links had control of the game the aces kept it close for a while but the links were just too strong offensively for them to ever take the lead Courtney Williams had a season high of 22 points and 10 assists seven rebounds every link starter got into double digits nefisa CER had 23 points four assists and seven rebounds Maisha Hans Allen in her debut had eight points a steal two assists and four rebounds in 14 minutes they shot 59.4% % from the floor 57.9% from three they outrebounded the aces by three rebounds and had three more turnovers so what really happened frankly Minnesota was just a better team on both ends of the court and they were better coached defensively the aces weren't communicating on switches they played manto man the entire game and they got the same results the entire game at this point Becky Hammond needs to stop doing press conferences send an assistant and tell them it's for your mental health whatever you need to do because she's losing favor ability a journalist asked the same question I think many of us asked why didn't she look to her bench earlier in the game we didn't see Kate Martin at all cydney Coulson did get into the game and immediately made a difference on defense and that's consistent with what she's done all season when she does get minutes but she didn't get into the game until the last 3 minutes of the third and by then the basket had already turned into an ocean for the links her response was I'm not going to call anybody out but some of our big studs weren't guarding T night and it wasn't necessarily our guards number one you made that pretty descriptive as to who you were talking about and number two that's not even what you were asked to answer instead of taking accountability in what possibly was a mismanagement of your personnel you blame your players I don't see how that's motivating or how it's going to help their morale this deep in the season the aces as an organization they're getting cooked online her actions are opening up the players to be verbally attacked and then the next chance she gets she's blaming them for a question that was directed at her I wanted to remain unbiased when it came down to the lawsuit between Becky and dear hamy but at this point she's proving deer's case of at least in the court of public opinion it's time for somebody to step in and let her know that she needs to chill but back to the game I noticed in this matchup how similar the acus offense is to the Chicago Sky offense in the respect that it's stagnant and designed for isolation there aren't many back door screens or cuts and it would be more effective if the defense were in a Zone which Minnesota was not so while the aces have players parked around the perimeter at times overloading one side of the Court the person with the ball is penetrating but the defense doesn't have to move there were moments where the aces moved the ball well and in many of those moments they scor but it doesn't look to be by Design also how deep is the Playbook these teams have to have more than one set and I really didn't see much change in the offense throughout the game speaking of lack of movement the trade deadline has passed and the aces didn't make any changes to their roster other than extending Kia stokes's contract for two more years I'm honestly perplexed on why she can be a good Defender she's 6'3 and she's a true Center she averages a point a game the best teams in the league right now are teams that are getting production offensively out of every player on the court it's not going to work to only rely on Asia Wilson it's not going to work to only rely on Jackie young it has to be a full team effort the way this is going right now I don't see the aces making it out of the first round of the playoffs but what are your thoughts Hoops tribe let's talk hoops
