if you notice that you suddenly lost a bunch of channels on your Direct TV satellite or streaming service you're not alone here's what's happening and here's what you could do about it Direct TV and Disney reached a contract dispute and on Sunday September 1st Disney decided to pull all of their channels from Direct TV which affected over 11 million of their subscribers some of the networks of channels that they own include ESPN FX Disney Channel and National Geographic this affected all of the Direct TV satellite and streaming services including Erse TV unfortunately sports fans missed some major matchups like the US Open tennis championships which were on ESPN and the USC LSU college football game which was on ABC but that's owned by Disney this contract ISB came up because Direct TV is trying to offer their customers skinnier packages with a smaller selection of channels so they don't pay for channels they don't watch the Disney co-chairs responded by saying that they're open to offering Direct TV flexible terms that they've extended to other Distributors but they don't want to undervalue their portfolio of channels these are the networks that Disney owns and some people don't want a majority of these channels
