so the holders out now you played 10 years ago when Liverpool beaten at home by Brighton he went on to the Cup Final that year but that year you went on to win the league there's no hope of that surely this time I mean yeah The Season's virtually finished for them again tonight the back four was suspect we've said that constantly throughout the season but tonight it went much deeper than that Liverpool players have always had talent and ability but you've got to have pride and passion and more importantly you've got to have hunger and there was only one team hungry there tonight and that was Bolton who thoroughly deserved to win they were magnificent from start to finish what was your view of the way that Liverpool played the match tonight Ry well I think first and foremost taking nothing away from Bolton they were very good but the one thing I've noticed actually watching Liverpool this evening and playing against them about a month ago was the fact when you're in possession of the ball that's for instance Queens Park Rangers in possession of the ball it was a lot easier to play a lot more time on the ball lot more space and especially anfield this evening Bolton had a lot of time in which to play in Years Gone by Liverpool have closed you down and you've always seemed as if you were surrounded when you played at anfield no time no space nothing of course you you played um under Graham sunnes at Rangers in in Scotland I mean how he won't take this very lightly Ian this this this kind of defe obviously not that sort of man but but how would you imagine that he might perform for the rest of the season I mean you would you feel he would stay there and dig in and stick with Liverpool most definitely yeah he's a very proud man he'll want to get right and uh I think if there's one person that can get it right it'll be Graham he'll make sure he gets it right because that's the he actually manages as he played in a very aggressive style and I'm sure that he'll pull it round he's definitely not a quitter that's for sure he'll dig in there but he's got a hard job when he sounds quite a hard job it would see at this point but bton played magnificently and will enjoy those goals again I think Alan if you just have a look at this yeah well this is the first goal and as you said David Lee was an absolute Revelation he picks the ball up here Mar goes tight but sort of Dives in and what he does well here is he plays it early it's a terrific cross the back post Hoover comes doesn't quite get there McGinley puts it in the Markin wasn't the best in the midd it was a wonderful cross r i mean we don't see crosses like that enough really that's right I think Allen hit it on the head the early balling if he delays that then Rob Jones coming in from left back will actually get across and perhaps have a challenge on McGinley but he didn't have the opportunity because the ball came in so early he might have had uh some gos himself Lee but uh Isley again and he does well here and I actually watching it thought he should have taken in but again he plays it early but again where's the mark in the Box Walker gets up there wasn't even the best header but it was an early ball in and Bolton went two up yeah I think the thing with it as the cross comes in it tempts Hooper off the line uh so his angles uh his angles all wrong and there Andy Walker just nuted in at the far post do you think that be some more changes at Liverpool would you expect some people to go players to go and new signings I think there's got to be I mean I think think he's he's got to sell to buy which is a problem and the other problem is who would you buy I mean the real will tell you there ain't that many good ones going about that you can buy and put in there Mr Lee from Bolton not a bad player well he played well tonight play well tonight yeah you got to do it over a season though at the highest level haven't you but there's I don't think there's not much money in the kitty at Liverpool is that that's what I'm saying he's got to sell players to buy I mean there's one or two players he can sell whether clubs will come and take them I don't know but he's certainly going to have a bit of difficulty turning it around back four is a problem they're leaking goals left right and center and you can't afford to do that at the highest level interesting situation on Mery side isn't it with the all hopes now pinned on trir for the cup that's right when was the last time that that actually happened that TR were left in the cup right the balance of power shifting yeah you'll be fancing your chances in the cup Now Queens but you'll be you're out I mean what does that that's irrelevant as far as we're concerned we'll we'll do very well we've got a very good squad together now and uh we can cope with injuries now and we'll be looking forward to playing okay
