617. Let's talk about what you need to know about this weather as you're headed out the door. Very hot again today, high temperatures back to near 100. I am finally tracking some storm chances. It's been about a month since some of us have seen some real good rain. That's possible coming up in the next few days. That also brings in some relief from this extreme heat. Finally, as we look ahead to next week, here are those rain chances no chance today, maybe a couple of isolated showers tomorrow. If you're gonna see rain, it's probably gonna be Friday, Saturday or Sunday. We've got isolated chances for showers and storms. Then it still won't rain all weekend. I wouldn't cancel any plans this weekend. But there is a chance of some quick, heavy downpours and some thunderstorms at times for today. High pressure is in control of our weather that keeps us hot and dry for now. But as we look ahead to this weekend, a cold front starts to approach the mid south. What that's gonna do is help to spark up the chance of storms Thursday, Friday and into the weekend again, it's not gonna rain the entire weekend, but there's at least a chance of some spotty thunderstorms for Saturday and Sunday early next week. Just in time for Labor Day though. We get another cold front and this is the one we're probably most excited about because it's gonna bring us some relief from that extreme heat. The temperature outlook for the first week of September looks pretty good. Temperatures expected to be below our average high of 90 degrees this morning. It feels pretty nice. It's six six in Forest City, 68 in Truman, 64 in Boliver in Corinth, 75 in Memphis. Humidity. Not bad this morning and it won't be bad this afternoon. That is one saving grace is because there's not much humidity. The heat index won't be very high still though high temperature about 100 with sunshine and no chance of rain. It could be the first time we hit 100 so far this year, haven't done that since August the last year, 96 tomorrow with a slight chance of storms. And again, there is that storm chance for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Again, I do not expect rain all weekend long, but don't be surprised if you get a quick downpour over your house Saturday or Sunday. That does help our temperatures. We're back to the eighties this weekend, we'll stay in the eighties to start off next week. Labor Day actually looks pretty nice. Those rain chances go down high of 88 on Monday.
