We Begin tonight with breaking news federal agents raid the homes of four top aids to Mayor Adams entangling his administration in yet another investigation sources say the raids targeted the homes of Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and school's chancellor David Banks who lived together his brother Deputy Mayor Philip Banks and police commissioner Edward kaban political reporter Marsha Kramer live at City Hall where she just spoke with the mayor Marca well Maurice and Christine as you know I did just speak with the mayor and believe it or not he seemed cool calm and collected telling me he always tells his staff to follow the law and always cooperate with investigations you know Marsh I say over and over again uh as a former member of law enforcement I'm very clear we follow the rules we make sure that we cooperate uh in term of with any information uh that is needed and it's just really would be inappropriate to get in the way of the review why it's taking place mayor Adams speaking with CBS News New York following reports that federal agents searched the homes of police commissioner Edward kaban the Harlem home shared by first Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and school's chancellor David Banks and the Queen's home of Philip Banks the deputy mayor for Public Safety and David Banks's brother so you don't have any lack of faith in your two people who have and the three people whove been um whose houses have been raided I'm not aware of any misdoings and I'm going to again follow the rules and I will continue to tell the team to do that and that's what they have been doing of my knowledge it was unclear whether the search of the home of Wright and David Banks targeted one or both of them but David Banks had this to say about it after a visit to a queen's school on the first day of classes today is all about the kids of New York City and uh that's what we're focused on sources familiar with the probe say it's unrelated to a separate federal investigation involving the mayor and his campaign financing as part of that probe the mayor's electronic devices were taken by the FBI sources said the cell phones of Wright and Philip Banks were taken as part of the new raids which occurred yesterday police officials were also asked to surrender their phones why do they keep targeting you and members of your Administration I mean it's like a constant drip trip trip those are questions I can't answer I'm going to I know what I'm going to do and that is information that's needed to show that I have always followed the law we're going to give that information now the police commissioner skipped a public event at One Police Headquarters today but it seems like he's not the only member of the NYPD that may be targeted the police department issued a statement saying quote that members of the executive branch were asked to surrender their devices and that's members with an S plural
