[Music] hello everyone and welcome back to American Ultra stock the usmnt's first Camp Post Greg berhalter is underway and our first game under the new regime kind of because it's going to be Mikey varus managing the team instead of pettino it comes on Saturday in just two days so today I'm here to give you a preview uh some background info on the teams a look into Canada's roster and what tactics they could play my preferred starting lineup for the usmnt and then finally of course the score prediction how I think the game will go just one quick disclaimer uh before I start uh getting into the preview because everyone was asking about it in the comments Yuri has been very busy recently he will be back for our transfer window recap video which would will hopefully come out on Saturday which is actually the same day of the game it'll hopefully come out a few hours before that match and we'll explain everything that's going on with the channel in that video so stay tuned for that it's going to be a good video regardless of all that behind the scenes stuff so definitely want to keep a lookout for that turn your notifications on if you haven't already but with that out of the way let's get into the preview and we'll start with a quick overview of the two teams and we'll start with of course the usmnt who like I said are managed by the interim coach Mikey vades who was the u20 coach at the last World Cup uh the u20 World Cup which was last summer and he's been an assistant with the US MN since and of course the usmnt at one of the lowest points in recent memory coming off a historically embarrassing first ever host nation in the cop America to get grouped after losing to Panama and uru Panama who we play next Camp actually so that game's going to be interesting to look forward to and then Canada are probably at their one of their highest points managed by of course the American Jesse Marsh Greg bur Halter's biggest rival could have been hired for the US M job last year but we said no and he eventually joins Canada and just took them to a fourth place finish in Copa America in his first basically his first games with the national team losing to Argentina twice once in the group stage once in the semis but they beat Peru they drew a Chile they beat Venezuela on penalties and then the third place game lost on pens to udai who we lost in regular time to so Canada's not going to be a pushover like they have been in the past I will say though the last relevant meeting between the two teams was in the Nations League final last summer when we did beat Canada thanks to Chris Richards and fer and balagan both scoring their first International goals who are both in the roster for the US this time so maybe we see a repeat of that result and then one just other quick thing where to watch the game I think it's a useful information you can watch this match on Saturday at 4M Eastern Time on universo telmundo TBS or fubo TV and I'm sure there's a bunch of other streams that you can find uh on the internet as well but those are the main ways to watch the game now let's take take a quick look into Canada and their roster their main key players what tactics they could play and we'll start at the back with Maxim kpo their goalkeeper who was a huge standout in cop America and has been very good for Portland Timber so far in MLS I would honestly say he starts for the us right now in goal so he's definitely going to be one to watch out for we're going to need to have some um pretty good efforts on goal to get past him and their Center back Duo as well which is something they haven't really had in the past a good defense they've got MO bomito and Derek Cornelius who both transferred to liun this past summer after again a great cup America for the duo bomo going to nice Cornelius going to marsel it's a huge step up from where they were before and they're both center backs on the rise and then of course in the defense as well everyone knows about Alonso Davies huge start from left back he's previously played as a Winger for Canada but under Marsh he's been the left back and I think it's worked very well for them and for Davies in particular as well in the Midfield they have of course Steven stako from poro brings stability and quality definitely by far their best midfielder they will be missing is Malone though who just also made the move to Liga he's out injured which is going to be a huge loss for them however they did just newly recruit a dual National from Croatia Niko seur who is a teammate with Rus pus you'll know from us youth national team camps who was a contender for our Olympic roster their teammates at haiduk split in the Croatian league and Niko seur will come into his first Canada Camp look to take the spot F uh that was vacated by con's injury and impressed so he's going to be one to watch out for assuming he gets some minutes in this game and then of course up top they've got Jonathan David who is American Born By the way and Kyle Aaron making up the strike force and of course Jacob shaffle BG the Nashville Winger who was a the breakout star of copaa he's going to be a huge problem at left wing and a huge challenge for Joe scall although after scall did lock down Vinnie Jr Luis Diaz this summer I don't know if shaffle BG will be much of a problem as for the tactics they play a pretty high Tempo 442 is what they were going with for the majority of cup America lots of pressing lots of running again Jessie Marsh is a Red Bull product he managed at New York Red Bulls at Red Bull salsburg at leig for a little bit before of course implementing his style to leads which worked for a little bit and then kind of tailed off he's playing the same style the Red Bull way of football with basically just lots of running lots of pressing which for some teams doesn't work I mean we saw it not work at leads but it was very effective at salsburg and for Canada it just it fits their style so well I mean because they've got rapid players like shaffle Berg like Alfonso Davies that are up for anything up for the pressing and I mean we saw their results of the cup America it works really well now let's get into this Preferred lineup for the USA and we have already uh uploaded a video looking in- depth the roster analyzing that so go check that out if you haven't already there will be a link to that at the end of the video uh and of course you could just go to our Channel as well there is one change from that and I'm actually glad that I waited to record until this morning because it just came out that Gio Rena has left the camp with an injury he got replaced by Cade Cowell who of course is a very different type of player you're replacing a 10 with a Winger which I think actually helps the composition of the roster because our only true Winger was really psic and then you had hasi Wright and Brendan Aron in there but realistically both of them have better positions Elsewhere on the pitch so having another true Winger like C is going to be nice he's a big spark plug off the bench because he's just absolutely rapid and beats everyone for pace and has been in very very good form as well W with shivas and Li mechis even one Lega mechis player of the month to start the season so very deserved call out for him ni to see fora it's just the story of his life really getting injured again I will say it is a good thing that he withdrew from the camp because we saw Tyler Adams in the summer and even in March as well when we were in the Nations League we when we played him despite he had just come back from an injury and it was still nagging him a little bit it just aggravated the injury when he played and then he's still he's still injured now so having Raina get the precautionary withdrawal from the roster I think is actually a blessing in disguise especially since they're meaningless friendlies we don't need him uh but with all that out of the way the roster change uh I'm going to get into my Preferred lineup I want to see a 4231 formation which again we played under our previous interro managers BJ Callahan and Anthony Hudson I think it just fits the player pool that we have the best out of any formation in the other game I I will say I might want to see a different somewhat different formation a completely different 11 as well but for this one Canada are a lot better of an opponent than New Zealand so I think the starters uh at least for this Camp relative some of our starters like mckenny and Jedi Robinson now Raina are injured or rested uh for in the case of Jedi and Weston so they're not here but the starters for this Camp should get the Canada game the backups should get the game against New Zealand to impress so in goal I want to see despite just saying that I want to see Patrick schy in goal Turner has been the starter for a while now and you have Fort harvath who's been a seasoned veteran as a backup but I just don't see a future with either of them at the USM and level and schy hasn't been the best his Olympics was a little bit shaky but he's still young he's been very good for the Columbus Crew and MLS and between him and Diego coachin who I will say spoiler alert I want to see coachin start the game against New Zealand I don't think it will happen by the way is just what I want to see I think Schult is a lot better of a player now he's more experienced I want to see him give him the nod here against Canada and see what he can do at the senior National Team level although to be honest I think it's still going to be Turner for the defense I think the right back spot is pretty straightforward Joe scall needs to start here he was our starter in cop America had a very good summer one of the only players who can say that and I think he should keep his spot here Marlin FY is also in the roster it'd be nice to see him maybe play against New Zealand but for this one scall who actually I think it has to be said did also start in place of the suspended sergia d uh in the summer of 2023 when we played them in the Nations league and did an excellent job locking down Alonso Davies so I think he I have utmost faith in him that he can do it again he should start it right back for the center backs I think there's going to be a lot of experimentation in the next couple years uh to see who can replace Tim he is in the camp but let's be honest he's already 36 he moved back to MLS he's not going to be realistic option for 2026 in the World Cup there so he's here as an experienced name to kind of help guide the the new players and help welcome them into the roster but for this game I want to see Chris Richards who of course scored against Canada last time we played them start alongside Mark McKenzie just made the move to Liga kind of like Canada center backs actually made the move to tulus and I think he's I mean he's already a starter for them started his first game last weekend and despite the loss he didn't look too bad on an individual level I think he is the best replacement we have for Tim Marine right now the best left Center back it does help that he does play there because in the past we put Cameron Carter Vickers at that spot in Copa Medica when he's naturally a right center back and it was just a recipe for disaster so having someone like McKenzie come in and of course we also have Austin trusty on the roster who also plays as a left Center back so having both those options is nice I would just prefer McKenzie because he's proved it more at Club level and with a national team so those would be my center backs for the left back I think this is one that's going to be up for debate and I think I'm actually going to go against what a lot of fans would say here I'm going to go for Christopher L I know Caleb Wy is probably going to be the popular pick because he just made the move again to Lee gun seems to be the the theme for conera players now but he made the move to storg he's basically been a starter for them he started two out of the three games and the one he didn't he came off the bench and got his first assist for Strasburg which is great to see however Lund has experienced being in the US MNT camps he hasn't gotten too many opportunities because of course Jedi Robinson is so reliable at left back he's not here it provides the opportunity for both of these guys to battle it out for the backup left back spot behind Jedi and I want to see Lon get the first start because I just I currently rate him better while he could have a higher potential I'm not sure I'm still very high on L's potential but I think right now as well he's a better player he's been in the camps in the past it makes sense to start him in this game now moving on to the Midfield and for the 4231 I want to play a double pivot and if you look at the roster I think the most two experienced and highest quality Center mids we have here or Center mid cdms whatever is Johnny cardoso from Al Bettis yunice Musa for AC Milan neither of them start for their clubs right now which is a little bit concerning especially from Johnny's perspective who is supposed to be one of their best players I think he is one of the rest players of Real be but for some reason he's just not starting in the league for them which is a concern but but it shouldn't impact his usmnt Outlook especially with Tyler Adams not here Leonard Maloney not here tenner tessman not here Aiden Morris it would be cool I will say to see him get an opportunity against Canada since he actually was a dual National that chose the us over Canada so having a little Revenge game there it could be an interesting storyline but I think it it's just safe to stick with Johnny and Musa although I will say Musa had a horrible cope on Meda playing in a similar position so hopefully he can get out of that and ReDiscover his form for the national team and then for the number 10 position since giena is now has now left the camp with an injury although to be honest I would have picked this player regardless I want to see Malik tman finally get his chance to start for the US MNT there's been a lot of discourse about him not ever showing up for the us at the international level which is true but granted he hasn't been given many opportunities especially at the number 10 position because of Jena now he finally gets this chance against Canada against a regional rival and I really think I mean he showed how good of a player he is at PSV finally playing in the midfield for them as well last season he was more of a Winger especially towards the end of the year so having him in form playing at the 10 for club and Country now I think it could be a really scary sight and I'm extremely excited as well once pettino comes in to H see how melik Tillman plays under him because I think that could be the future of our number 10 position as said as it is for giena I'm really excited to see tman in this Camp hopefully he does get the start here as the Wingers I want want to see Christian PK on the right side actually because that is where he played all last season that is where he actually looked a little bit more effective in some of the games for the usmnt Recently particularly against Jamaica when he moved over to the right I think he looked a lot better and it just opens up a spot for speaking of Jamaica the guy who came in at left wing scored a brace off the bench right he's been in great form for Coventry since he signed for them last summer and I think he deserves a start here kid cowl is an option but he did arrive to Camp late and I rate Hashi righ better and not to mention C so much better as a piece Off the Bench I would like to see him maybe come in for in around the 60th minute get a solid 30 minutes under his belt against tired legs for Canada I think that could be a really great situation for Cowell but for the starters I'm going to go for pisk and right I think it's pretty self-explanatory and then another one that should be pretty self-explanatory up top is fer and Bal again now his form for Monaco has not been good to start the season how however last season his former for Monaco was also very bad and he still showed up in the summer in the C America and in the friendlies as well for the national team actually in the friendlies he wasn't that good but in the Copa Meda he was very good one of again like scall one of the only standouts in that roster in that in that tournament so I think he should definitely continue to keep his spot as a starting Striker at the end of the day if he continue scoring for the US MNT I don't care what his Club situation is he could be a backup in MLS for all I care as long as he's playing and scoring for the usmnt that's really my main priority for balagan and like I said in the intro he did score his first International goal for the us against Canada last summer in the Nations League final hopefully he can do it again and make the Canadians kind of his his food I guess his his preferred opponent kind of like Jesus ferera has the Caribbean islands the tiny ones that he always scores against maybe balagan can always score against Canada I think it'd be nice to see that of course we have Sergeant and pepe they both should see minutes sometime in this camp but I think we can leave that mainly for New Zealand now with my Preferred lineup for the us out of the way I'm going to get to the most important part the game prediction I I think this is a really tough one to call because I have no idea how well the guys are going to gel under vades I don't know who he's going to start I don't know what system he's going to play even because when he was with the u20s he played kind of a 343 now I don't know if the current pool that we have necessarily suits that formation but you really never know he's never managed the usmnt before we have there's so many question marks on what we're going to put out and for Canada there's less so because we've now seen them with a whole summer under Jesse Marsh we know how they play we know it's successful for them so they could be a real threat in this game that being said even though it's a friendly even though K that have been the better of the two teams it's at home and I mean come on where the USA anything less than a win here against Canada would be a disappointment however I am going to pick a 22 draw because like I said Kenda have been so good under Marsh and there's just too many question marks from our perspective I don't know what players we're going to start I don't know who's going to show up under vadz I don't know how good of a motivator he is at this level at the senior International level I know at the u20 level it's fine but it's a whole different ball game here against Canada in the international game so we're just going to have to see let me know guys what are your score predictions for this game tell me in the comments who do you want to see start because there's a lot of new faces in the camp I said supect that there's going to be a couple different names from who I picked that that some people want to see start maybe Aiden Morris gets a nod maybe Caleb Wy gets a nod maybe a different goalkeeper gets the nod maybe you want to see trusty over McKenzie so many different options in this Camp I'm very excited to see how the boys do under us in this game in against New Zealand which we will have a preview out for as well a couple of days before that game so again stay tuned for that and all the content around this camp and of course the transfer window recap I'll keep plugging that until it happens it's going to be one of the best videos on the channel so you really don't want to miss that on Saturday but with all that out of the way have a great day guys uh make sure to like And subscribe if you enjoy the content and we'll see you next time
