Coastal Carolina Football WITHOUT Grayson McCall | Coastal Carolina at Jacksonville State Preview

[Music] [Applause] [Music] well we got a G5 matchup FBS on FBS and that's one of two matchups on Thursday night that we get to talk about between FBS opponents and we're going to see with this one what castal Carolina and Tim Beck has without Grayson McCall in a teal uniform hi everybody I am Colin bashal your host here at bash CFB show you can find me over here on Tik Tok or any of the links down below as I'm going to be way more active in Twitter spaces as time goes on here so today we talk about the two teams that really come in both with pretty quick success from the FCS level now specifically Jacksonville State was able to jump in and immediately have success a year ago we saw them in a week zero opener against the utap miners that ended up being a really good game going down to the wire where tough defense for Jack state is what really put them ahead they return a lot of that they return a ton on the defensive side of the ball and they're going to be really really tough well go Carolina is going to be breaking out a new offense sure Bron Bennett's back at the running back spot but their offensive Line's a little bit more inexperienced and they're going to have Ethan Vasco likely starting at quarterback over Noah Kim and that's going to be a change considering what Cal Carolina already was regressing towards with Grayson McCall last year who was the quarterback that led coal Carolina to their rebuild they also don't return a ton coal Carolina on the defensive side of the ball man they're like 115th or something like that in returning production and defensively not only do they not return a lot they also really really struggled against the run last year this is a complete mismatch complete mismatch and I am looking forward to seeing Jacksonville State's new look offense I'm expecting it to be Logan Smothers starting at the quarterback spot being there last year but you just never know with Rich Rod the way that he played the quarterback position uh last year was switching them in and out Zion web Logan Smothers other guys it it was chaos over there but I think Logan Smothers will be the guy this year and I think they're gonna run that triple option to with t when you take a look at what they have coming back from a year ago you do have a really good player at the running back spot in on Lewis he's a guy with a lot of experience and a lot of good playing time for Jack state but they're also going to look to senior running back Ron Wiggins to be able to top a little bit of the rock himself and I think that these two guys are going to absolutely go crazy in this game this is a little bit shorter of a preview I wanted to just give this game a little bit of love because it is a great game on Thursday night I think KSA Carolina will stick around for a little while I think Ethan Vasco is going to be able to fit Tim Beck's system a little bit stronger than a style of quarterback like Grayson McCall could I think they were trying to put too many handcuffs on Grayson McCall's athleticism but now with Ethan Vasco I just don't think it'll be enough I think Jacksonville State is going to run the ball down Coastal Carolina's throw and have a dominating presence with their physicality Jacksonville State wins this game and they win it comfortably I'm taking Jacksonville State to win this football game by a score of 31 to 13 I don't think that this game's going to be all that close for very long I think it might be a little bit close at halftime but overall Jacksonville State wears down the castal Carolina shot to clear starts out the season one and0
