[Music] [Music] [Music] what is going on guys welcome back to weekly cheddar Jake shank here with you guys it's been a busy evening uh and it's been quite a day obviously very little time until uh roster cuts are are finalized for the Green Bay Packers I'm sure we're going to be talking about that quite a bit chat's already uh filling up here which is great uh good to see everybody happy Monday we obviously had some news we got some B Willis news we're going to be talking about that uh obviously you know puls of the fan base for those who are regulars around here we'll be having that uh and we're going to talk a little bit about ran Gary and something that I found really really interesting so yeah um evening Prince cap Stace and Mike Barry United Bates Mark zambo what's going on everybody so yeah I mean I think um you know I I think we'll maybe start with um I kind of want to start with Paul of the fan base but I want to make sure that that we have enough people in here everybody's in here uh once things get really rolled um so let's let's start here really quickly evening Ron s what's going on a prince cap St got something really quick here so the guys we think are injured are Dylan Lloyd Davis relle Ford Waggy Morgan Cooper are now considered back it does sound like that um Davis Dylan and Lloyd are going to be the interesting ones I know on derailed which was you know I think most everybody um coming over from PTA we definitely talked about you know what what the IR spots could look like Lloyd um Dylan Davis and then I believe Jonathan Ford also came up as well for us when we were putting together the 53 uh and kind of talking pacce Squad guys who might not make it who's going to those IR spots so yeah that'll be interesting um I assume we're going to get one of the running backs going there we'll see what the the the the the overwhelming um and prevailing opinion on on Lloyd it seems to be that like that injury is significant enough that he could probably go there um we were joking and derailed that like you know maybe if it's the hamstring we got to go see that specialist for for the alignment uh that that Watson got and kind of get that taken care of uh immediately uh so it's not an a uh an issue um more and more down the road so yeah we'll see on that that's um it's going to be interesting there I think there are a lot of guys you can make a case for for um and there are a few guys that that maybe you know we might not want to see get cut or waved um that might and kind of teased it a little bit in Clayton's stream when I went over there to say um hello and uh oh yeah Dillard is considered back as well yeah Dillard does anybody not have Dillard on their 53 I I just feel like he has to be on there um and personally I would carry 10 offensive linemen I just feel like there's just it it feels very House of Cards like if somebody gets hurt that I'm just really concerned that there's not enough there um and with the amount of like you know deficiency around the league in terms of offensive line play like I just imagine teams are going to be willing to to scoop up guys that that might for Green Bay just kind of be on that line of like gosh should we keep or not like it's it's it's going to be tough sleding uh tomorrow uh especially at receiver especially defensive end at corner at linebacker at safety there's a lot going on for sure Mark Z already saying hit the like button appreciate that it really is it's hard to find you know a quality offensive lineman that goes 67 deep it's just really not a thing if Green Bay believes they have that there should be no question about who they should be keeping but I would just lean towards that CU I just feel like the interior of the offensive line we think is figured out maybe perhaps with with Jordan Morgan potentially playing Right Guard you know I that's that's what they're going to do is it going to work right if one of the tackles gets hurt is Jordan Morgan going to you know flip out there and then you have the same problem it's like you know it was just interesting that Luke Tuda got some Right Guard work and it seemed like it went okay that I'll be I'll be watching him for sure tomorrow so Ron sville asking Ola doppo on the 53 but a red shirt year I'm wondering I'm wondering if Green Bay thinks they can get away with waving him please don't hit the please don't hit the dislike button please don't I just I'm wondering if they they believe that uh I would not take that chance at all um I think pretty much everybody wouldn't take that chance it's just a question of if they do right if they think Zayn Anderson can play on special teams if they think Welch is there for special teams you know brenon Cox Jr how many tight ends are being carried four that limits how many you're doing you know on the defensive side of the ball it's it's it's a risky move but but like I don't know I I just I'm worried that they want to keep Zayn Anderson and I feel like they're not going to keep six safeties so that's that's the that's my concern um I think they're going to keep six receivers Smitty what's going on how you doing my guy um he might be scooping up one of our receivers tomorrow we'll see um I don't think they're they're not going to keep all seven and put it that way um I know some people some people have said they might keep five which you know that would leave dubos and Heath off I I wouldn't do that but we'll see it's going to be interesting maybe you guys will land somebody what wide receiver can we get off GRE Bay's roster you send a pick you send a pick over we might be able to talk uh top four are off the table unless you all get auk and want to you know send auk over um and maybe a three- teamer or something but I think one of hether Duos is probably going to be available uh so you know might have that opportunity we'll see we shall see but I know there's a lot of teams inquiring about Mei inquiring about Tim Patrick Tim Patrick seems like a guy for you guys for sure but uh yeah I'm sure one of them is going to be out there hether Duos at the very least so but yeah I Ron I I'm with you on on oladapo as well I just I'm wondering what they're thinking at safety um it just seems like cuz when when we went through this right it was kind of like okay one of the running backs is probably going to be put on the IR spot which is totally fine maybe one of the tight ends goes on the IR spot but it feels like they want to carry four and and if Tyler Davis is going to go on one of those IR spots he's going to come back onto the roster at some point and so keeping four tight ends for a team that might want to you know play some a pretty hefty amount of 12 Personnel you know you might have to keep four then and then you know you want to keep a nine or 10 offensive lineman leag okay great you're going to keep three QBs you know it it starts to add up and so then you you're a little shallow maybe on the defensive line or you're shallow at you know safety or corner and and it's there's going to be a lot of trade-offs tomorrow and I'm interested to see how Green Bay um does that so Mark zambo says the more people you tried o line the better the chance to hit yeah oh absolutely and I think I think it's you know we've kind of been waiting on Caleb Jones and Tuda I was kind of very firm on that you know when we were kind of talking earlier this summer when Camp was starting to get underway it's like we need to see something because otherwise they're going to probably be you know more so you know further back in the in the in the order of these guys because you have monk coming in you have Glover coming in even though I was kind of like Glover's a lot of project to him he at least showed a little bit uh in in preseason and that's not nothing and and he was a draft pick and we know that Green Bay likes to keep draft picks so you know he could wiggle his way on there I I think Ryan is pretty much guaranteed to be I think monk will be and you know man I don't I don't know how you you leave Dillard off especially just cuz yes not versatile but Bill he plays the more the most important position uh on that offensive line one of the tackle spots so even if he's not versatile having somebody who could potentially come in to play right tackle or it seems like they're going to keep him over there it it's valuable you you have to have some sort of depth at at at offensive tackle so Steels have called both both matchy and Patrick I feel like a lot of people are going to be on metch as and they should be and they should be but yeah Duos could probably help as a Gunner he he's he's got some Talent there for sure um and what's probably assume nice about Pittsburgh is they run the ball a lot so you know there's not going to be a you know an immense amount of pressure on wide receiver two wide receiver three to do everything but to be available you know move the chains especially if Pickins I guess is going to be you know that guy that's doing almost everything for that offense because I know they're going to feed targets to one guy but um I I feel like if if it's only one cut it's probably going to be dubos for for Green Bay a receiver so so let's do this since we got a lot of people in here I'm going to we're going to save Malik Willis for a second let's get let's get to this let's get to this really quick cuz I love doing pulse of the fan base we're almost 10 minutes in lot of folks in here um real quick Ron sville says de has graded real well against number twos yeah I think he's been you know I think what was it it was a rough first game maybe or it was just rough practice and and he's kind of almost got the got things back on course a little bit more which is good um but yeah I just I just can't imagine he's not going to make it out of that pure need for just able bodies potenti potentially a tackle uh throughout a season so I with no return they could yeah if Ford's injury is that's a good point by Prince here if Ford's injury is is really bad yeah it's just kind of you know IR no return and and yeah he's back in the mix in a year we'll see that that's something I would love to know um where he's at I'm sure they'll we we'll probably obviously know I think by tomorrow whether it's super serious or not but obviously going to definitely come into play um especially because of those just two spots that they can use um for those return spots so yeah that as much as I don't want to see it because actually Ford you know feels like you know if they're going to keep one Tex they got to kind of keep him around at the very least in the practice squad because one Tech's going to be you know a part of this defense especially on early Downs it would be nice to have more than one and I know Kenny Clark can do it but it's nice to have you know a little more beef at that position so that that'll be very key uh to see how things kind of line up um with with how Jonathan Ford um is currently healthwise so let's do this quick everybody let's uh let's get to plls of the fan base a little early this time um I want to get from anybody who will comment um one guy you'd want to keep on this Packers roster you're going to go to bat you know in the meetings in during this this time when they're making cuts of like we we need to keep this guy you know if you want to make an elevator pitch go for it in the comments if you if you so choose or you can just give me the name because I know there's there's certainly guys that are on that bubble a little bit right now there's a lot of linebackers and Christian Welch is kind of a little bit lower in the pecking order if that's somebody you would go to bat for Cory Ballentine maybe another oladapo Zayn Anderson uh one of the offensive linemen perhaps um you know if you really want a seventh receiver if if you want another running back would love to hear from y'all right now as to who you would go to bat for with one of the bubble guys to kind of yeah this is why or this is the guy that I'm going to keep on the roster would love to hear from y'all on that one hopefully everybody's typing right now and they're getting their thoughts in here um CU yeah I mean we can obviously you know dig deep into some of these for sure um but obviously I think of course a lot of you have probably been a little exhausted with all the roster cut stuff tonight and would just love to know about the team and that's why that's why we got the other two segments that we can we can kind of get to which is which is really good and I'm excited about doing so okay United bits and Mike Barry first go to Christian Welch Packers Kingdom says Wilson which Wilson Emanuel Eric what are we thinking because yeah Christian Welches is a tough guy to leave off uh the roster it's a tough one to leave off the roster but there's a lot of linebackers now and I know that the fourth I mean the 43 you know opens that door to have more linebackers um on the roster which is good for sure um um so both Wilson and Welch yeah extra extra backer both sides of the ball yeah it it would just be nice to have you know more linebackers who can either play a specific role right or have the ability to play multiple roles on this defense because if they're going to be I mean they're going to be times where they're in base right so it's not going to be a lot but it might be enough and if linebacker is good on special teams there you go so Ron sville says Mosby didn't just have one good game a good camp yeah that's tough especially because you know you you obviously have your four that are locked in right uh with Gary Smith uh vaness and uh and AAR right but then it's Brenton Cox and then it's kind of Aaron Mosby right so we've got some Wilson we got Welch from both uh Prince caps says Brenton Cox who I think yeah would probably be a bubble guy right Rush skills a premium one guy I think might not clear waivers yeah it's very possible he does not it really possible that he does not do that bill pza says Mosby as well so we got a couple Mosby yeah linebacker types playing special teams I mean it's you know they're going to be some of the guys that that that aren't out there so yeah having that type of player I know Green Bay is going to want Tyler Davis there whe whether or not you know he starts on the roster to start the season or you know eventually comes back he's kind of another one that you know they they like to have on special teams Janelle say I'm late no worries no worries Janelle if you got somebody uh that you go to bat for and make this 53 man roster drop it down there um because there are quite a few bubble guys there really are so Bren Cox and Mosby want to have a deep defensive line pass rusher after pass rusher yeah it' be nice to have a big big rotation there I just don't know I just don't know how they're going to keep six because there's again there's so much tradeoff right when you think about you know how you want to form this roster and I think everybody's going to have potentially a different opinion on again we kind of went through it even quarterback maybe not keeping three I'm going to keep I would keep three right I think I think most people would keep three not everybody's going to keep three um running back obviously there's decisions to make uh wide receiver you know I've heard five and six both of those numbers thrown out there we talked about tight end already with potentially four total o line could have anywhere from 8 to 10 defensive end right having the fifth defensive end that's an important potentially important position where there's going to be a trade-off there the sixth linebacker sixth Corner sixth safety perhaps so you know there's there's a lot you know to decide there's probably I would think you look at it you go maybe 59 to 60 guys and now I think you know there was that one the one caveat that I thought was always interesting right is you have you know orac who you could could potentially just cut and go find somebody and then initially right you go get you know you you you go find somebody but you initially keep enough on that um on that 53 but eventually someone's going to have to join as a Long Snapper so it's it's kind of delaying potentially the inevitable there but maybe orzac doesn't make it tomorrow and they go uh they go looking so Ron sville says relle maybe Cody McDougall says not a bubble guy but I'm batting for McDuffy I assume you're probably going to bad for him to start as the Mike linebacker which hard to argue Cooper we haven't seen a lot of quay is just probably the weak side guy who's run and chase do a lot of coverage stuff so you know that's yeah yeah I I don't blame you there relle maybe I feel like relle is probably safe in in terms of getting him on the practice squad but I that's not a bad name to throw out there because I mean he had he did have his he did have his moments for sure um in the preseason so there you go trade one of the edge guys to get a kicker I think we're I think they're just going to stick with Carlson I really do I don't think we're going to see any adjustments made unless it's unless it's that bad so yeah most be getting picks dropping in coverage as an outside linebacker what's he listed at I would love to know exactly I assume there isn't I assume there's not an R out there but maybe there are measurements this is something I should definitely know um but let's see if I can find it maybe if I could type though that would be good um because yeah I imagine he's big enough where he's not going to play true linebacker but having that athleticism to to drop into coverage is a is a good deal because obviously Gary's got the athleticism I would say vaness definitely does andbar is fluid enough right in terms of the movement skills so yeah Aaron most be making the roster I don't think it's the most shocking thing for sure so we got a backup QB now we need the kicker let him red shirt Anderson's not good we a Super Bowl window yeah yeah for sure cut kickers but cut both kickers for initial room I I feel like they're probably going to be able to you know as we mentioned kind of cut um orac The Long Snapper so you never know uh s Joyce says want uh Jonathan Ford on the 53 got to ensure the run defense is completely bolstered we don't have a bunch of goal line Defenders without him yeah we kind of mentioned with with Ford if the injury is severe it's obviously just wait till next year but you know he could in theory Jonathan Ford could occupy one of those IR return spots and uh I don't think anyone would bat an ey at this point I think it was kind of coming into camp with Jonathan Ford it was clear like we got to you got to see something you have to see something other than just strictly special team like you know kick block and stuff and and can you show a little bit um and I think he did a decent job and and as we mentioned already with that one Tech you know being a part of this defense kind of need that Ron sville says no one will claim the kickers probably not um but I think we think that the average kicking game is better than it really is I think our perception might drive that reality a little bit and in our own eyes but it's possible no one claims both of them Bart Smith what's going on says assume T and Bryce nman are gone will any teams claim off waivers um maybe maybe I I don't t t has speed and and there might be enough value there as like Gunner special teams that teams might take the chance on because of the speed so wouldn't rule that out uh necessarily but uh and and Newman I mean offensive Line's always a need but yeah I think there's a good chance you could potentially get both back on the practice squad again we'll see if Green Bay takes the risk with Duos or Heath I assume they will and we'll see if either them gets back on the practice squad but if not if neither of them do right or either of them right whoever gets assuming they keep six and and they cut one of the two between Heath and Duos if the if whoever they cut does not make it back to them then maybe Tay does uh become that stash on the practice squad just out of pure familiarity um with the offense so yeah I mean it's possible but I don't think I don't think there will be a a plethora of teams lining up for either but you just never know cuz teams could be looking for a specific thing and and T has the speed and and Newman has experience playing so you never know uh ER says he made a couple of plays I assume Ford speaking about I heard His Name a couple times in Camp just needs reps yeah that's true and and was nice to see him get reps in the preseason it's unfortunate that he went down with injury so we'll see where they go from here see where they go from here um okay so if anybody if no one else has anything uh in terms of you know one guy you go to bat for obviously keep throwing the questions and comments down there we're going to get through all of those of course um but we will shortly pivot here uh to our next topic to hit on tonight A's Joyce says don't want Tyler Davis as a fourth tight end let's roll with three and elevate a fourth as needed so I assume yeah that's the that's the like if Davis could potentially get back to the prce squad if not then it's a Joel Wilson elevation potentially which is fine um personally I'm fine with keeping only three tight ends with with musk grave craft and Sims I just assume Green Bay likes Tyler Davis a lot uh to the point that they probably want him on the roster and you know they've typically gone the route of uh keeping four tight ends so that would that would lead me to believe that Davis would be the fourth I don't think anybody's arguing that at this point Joel Wilson got a lot of opportunities he's he's got some work to do but he can certainly do it on the practice squad Prince cap saon saying T also has some P return value I think he clears but chooses to join another practice it's it's yeah I mean there's no guarantee with t simply because of the speed and special teams experience that you know some team may just like we need to inject more speed into our um uh our offense or our special teams like they could easily some team could easily scoop them up there are definitely teams Pittsburgh Washington um who else uh Atlanta that that could use players with speed at this point you know when you have Tory just running kind of deep crossers off of play action with Arthur Smith scheme in Pittsburgh or he's just kind of running go balls for an offense that in Washington that's going to take advantage of a lot of the rpos a lot of the curl routes a lot of y after catch opportunities and a lot of deep balls with Jaden Daniels that that could make sense as well and and behind darnel Mooney I think the Falcons are looking for more speed for sure on that offense to kind of clear things out for pits for London to give a lot of guys more opportunity short and intermediate that you know if mone's stays is is they're worried about Mooney staying healthy that you know T could probably run down the field he's not as Twitchy or as refined as money is but it's a little bit of speed um let's see Antonio what's going on says Hopper was a hard tackler wasn't shy of contact in college with some better coaches maybe he could stand on the pros yeah I don't think Hopper necessarily is going to C was going to come in and be a dude immediately which is okay right not not every draft pick is going to develop at the same speed as others obviously the hope would be that Green Bay finds two quality starters in every draft and some role and a couple role players uh with the amount of picks that they've had the last couple drafts and I think they've done a really really good job of course but yeah it'll be interesting to see it we we you should see something and it was clearly The Hoppers got you know some of that downhill ability that we saw in the preseason so yeah a linebacker we've kind of talked about it on this show quite a bit linebacker is tough a lot of crusting your eyes getting into the right Gap not falling for a lot of things that are going on pre- snap and you know having to get off you know wbe blockers moving up to your space making your sure you're keeping Integrity while all of this is going on it's not easy so you know Hopper almost treating this as a red shirt here is totally okay with me it is it is a difficult position to play we need football players not favorites that's the Packers problem I think I mean they they found a lot of good football players these last few years they've really done a nice job he had an abysmal outing okay talking about Davis I think is A's Joy here had a pretty abysmal outing last game I think there's other guys who far more deserve the last couple spots I don't think you'll hear an argument from me on that I think it's more Green Bay gonna push back and say we you know Le kind of be like I I want this guy right we're we're going to use 12 personnel and if we need him out there to help the offensive line at all right help our young tackles we would like him out there and that's that's the probably you know the conversations that lefl has had with gy um but I agree I I would much rather have a fifth defensive end another safety another linebacker than then potentially a fourth tight end but you know unfortunately it just comes down uh to kind of what um what Green Bay thinks so here said I'm Tree by Hopper just got a Polish this game and play faster yep that's yeah playing fast while also playing under control with good discipline and processing skill set is is how you do it and it's it's just not easy let's just trade instead of just cutting yeah yeah it' be nice to trade guys who you know Green Bay you know who they're about to cut but there there has to be you know there has to be two sides to it there's got to be interest somewhere and I'm sure I I'm I'm sure that um you know Green base probably had conversations regarding receivers that they're probably planning on keeping on their team right like they're they probably had those conversations like some team probably Came Calling and and goody was like yeah no we're not trading Wicks or we're not trading Melton right we're keeping those guys but maybe teams did offer but you know I'm sure they've had those conversations so Ron sanville saying Hopper looked real good against the run I agree I think he did has done a nice job there um Dave what's going on welcome welcome uh Ron keeping him up to date appreciate that Ron yeah we're talking about just bubble guys uh right now that you would go to bat for to make the 53 man roster um but we got a lot of folks in here tonight that's awesome love that um you know hit that like button if you could if you haven't hit that sub button you should um I know it hasn't been as much Packers this last week in ter of uh videos but uh there will be plenty uh over the next two weeks as we get ready for the season so appreciate y'all popping in tonight um a says it's either Welch or Ford or over Davis for me those guys are either upside need contributions that Davis just doesn't provide yeah Welch six linebackers maybe a tougher tougher call than than other spots but yeah Ford again if I I think the more I think about it the more Ford makes sense with that injury to be an an an IR to return spot uh to start things as long as it's obviously as we've mentioned a couple times not super serious so well you won't hear an argument from me Cox and Mosby I think are two other great ones uh to be going to bat for nobody picked Glover nobody I assume most people think telford's making it so nobody mentioned him I would agree with that uh who else nobody on Tuda Caleb Jones feels like somebody's probably be on the practice squad as well I wouldn't be I wouldn't mind Tuda up on the 53 just because he did play some Right Guard you know they're not limiting him to tackle so there's versatility there I know bill was talking about that with versatility regarding Dillard at this top of the show so yeah Prince caps says I bet go I bet goo is shopping some guys uh tonight if you can find a buyer have to find someone down the waiver wire pecking order yeah who doesn't want yeah yeah and I think this yeah okay Packers Kingdom saying hether Duos yeah I think I think it's possible that they're Fielding calls there um maybe especially with Dubose uh just because of teams kind of believe this stuff out of camp and they're like ah it's just a couple preseason games it's not going to tell us the full story we we might like this guy yeah it's very possible that um that they're having those conversations with those two as well but I'm sure I'm sure they've gotten calls on their top five and they've said no dice no thank you um but yeah Five Guys definitely lock like comment sub appreciate that Packers Kingdom for sure H yeah still miss Su on the team we'd be so so so scary in the secondary I was just very surprised that Green Bay didn't really take advantage of this corner class not saying this next one's not going to be that bad um there are definitely some guys already that I'm like yep that makes perfect sense if they're going to go there in the first or second round next year like yep Corner probably a need looking good so yeah Su would would be nice in the secondary for sure especially using those instincts if he you know if you're not playing um you know if you're not playing too much man out there right use those instincts that he has in his Zone coverage to jump passes create turnovers but it was it was nice for Green Bay to be like yeah okay Buffalo needs something let's get a third round pick you know let's get another swing here keep this team younger it's totally fine so [Music] um okay Packers Dana what's going on Packers seem to have the fewest Elite Cuts uh thus far they may be working the phones to try for trades yeah it's very possible um especially at wide receiver that we kind of talked about um just now as well we'll see I'm I'm very intrigued to see um if they do anything tonight obviously they just got rid of a seventh round pick for Malik Willis which will we're going to talk about um so yeah I'm it does for some reason the Packers they they they're there are those guys who throw out those reports you know early late morning tomorrow early afternoon where it's like oh they cut this person but it feels like we never in Green Bay get that full picture until it's like yeah this time now let's see who made it and so we have to go look yeah it does feel like they they don't leak a ton of their cuts to everybody which you know they they've kept it pretty TI they keep it pretty tight to the with close to the vest with like injuries and cuts as well so yeah I think that they could easily be Fielding calls on on Heath and Dubose um especially if Green Bay's kind of like yeah we like all seven of these guys you know we might just keep them all and then you know then teams are kind of but also as we as someone mentioned right yeah Prince caps there there might be you know teams I don't know I don't know what the waiver wire order is off the top of my head um but uh regular season wave order stays the same current with draft standings so yeah I mean it could be I'm just trying to find somebody who's down the list here nope they didn't give me the list that's dumb show me the list if anybody has a link to that throw that down there um but I I do think no even the three teams I kind of mentioned probably aren't super high in the priority right Pittsburgh Washington might be um Pittsburgh and Atlanta that are kind of like yeah we need to we to call about making some moves but Washington might be in on guys anyway because they need that um they they need something else in that room right now so Ron sville says Glover's already in yeah initially when they drafted him I I immediately thought practice squad probably but if they've seen enough and it's a goody draft pick like could easily easily be a lock for them so Tony Holman what's going on says the pack end roster has to play special teams and yeah this is the interesting thing that we've kind of talked about at least we were talking about in derailed where um you know Zane Anderson special teams guy Tyler Davis special teams guy uh Welch probably a special teams Guy where it's like okay you know crazy thing to say but like would they keep Zayn Anderson and and potentially just kind of be like yeah we can probably stash oladapo on the practice squad right like that's you know is that something they could do and I I thought about that today when I was kind of building a 53 was like could they maybe do that that you know and they get a safety with a special teams a special teams guy on there like yeah it's it's very possible they lean that direction and especially with Welch being a linebacker and you know the scheme that they're switching to and and you know a good point here by Tony like that's why Welch feels like somebody who's potentially just going to make it and kind of makes sense Dave said well my bubbles burst with injuries and cuts so I guess Welch is a special teams guy linebacker depth Davis goes to IR he says okay big fan of Glover and Jennings but didn't Jennings didn't get enough playing time compared to monk yeah I agree and sville says uh this related as well to Dave's comment Jennings will be on the practice squad maybe I think it's a guarantee I I I think he will definitely be on the practice squad right there was a ton of meetings with Jennings right they met with him way back when the draft process kind of started it seemed like he was going to be a priority to them in either in the seventh round or you know in free agency in in um undrafted free agency right like it was very clear that like the interest was real there so yeah I imagine that um that Jennings will be on the practice squad Packers talking about you know his blitzing ability and his pressure to sack conversion rate but it feels like Williams was just kind of guy who's in the right spot bullard's been you know all over the place playmaker those two guys have have have delivered so far can't wait to see them in the regular season Packers kingham said we should have traded for do doson lowkey yeah I mean again you won't I I wouldn't be mad at having Dotson on the team I think Reed does the same stuff doson does and has more speed um but yeah I think it was a nice pickup for Philly uh getting datson but I do think Green Bay you know I think with Reed um and with Melton I think think slot and z are kind of pretty good uh in terms of what Green Bay has right now but again doson was really good as a rookie um from a route success perspective so you know Eagle kicking the tires I think was a good idea trade Malik and do both I I think if they could trade one of them and get something back that' be that would be good um yep we said Jennings on the prac to Squad no pack no we don't need another slot yeah yeah yeah it's fair uh Dana says safeties this year so if you're going to get one past waivers this is the year to do it yeah I just think with how you know I think ol adapa was like the fifth to last or six to last safety get drafted and it seemed like the safeties later in the draft were kind of ol Ado's build where they're like are they playing safety are they playing some hybrid linebacker dmeb backer stuff right because Jaylen Carly's from Missouri went to Indie and James Williams who's trying to make that conversion to linebacker went late you know as as it's 230 lb safety like it's very possible Green Bay could just like yeah he didn't play a lot maybe teams haven't seen a lot we might be able to sneak him on the practice squad so it's possible I wouldn't rule that out tomorrow um just prepare yourself uh with with oladapo everybody it's and it's okay right you can if he finds if they can find a way to keep him on there and then next year you know he's making plays and being a big part of the team that's awesome uh Dave said didn't we give Jennings 300K that's possible I think I think yeah they gave they gave quite a bit to somebody it probably was Jennings just cuz there was so so much interest there um that it kind of felt like if he wasn't going to get drafted in the late rounds by them he was going to be one of their guys as a udfa Joseph Gleason saying he's going keep more safeties and receivers than a team typically would over Welch or another special teams guy who won't ever start give Rich B A guy or two he needs and let him figure out the rest yeah they're going to give a a couple guys that's why I think you know Zayn or Welch Davis there's going to be a couple guys that are going to be um uh they're going to be there four special teams um and and I get it they won't potentially won't ever start but you you never know in this league right um you know Welch probably won't start but if he's a core special teamer and he's he's keeping things afloat over there that's a that's an important important deal and again he's one injury away from being linebacker five and he's two injuries away from being linebacker four which is potentially somebody who gets in the game so you know if if Green Bay is going to be in base enough like Welch seems like a guy that um he's just he's playing enough he's playing enough and they've really and clearly they've liked what they've saw with Welch and Welch's PFF has liked it so yeah uh Prince caps says hope Jennings joins practice he does of the UFL option as he was drafted there okay I did not know that that's that's something of note for sure but uh okay it was 100K for for Jennings which is a pretty good amount um we wait to get that random conditional sixth or seventh via that linebacker to TI Titans or van Lannon yeah the random conditional stuff for sure Williams has a special knack for Force f yes he does he he's already proving that which is awesome I mean you know um half has talked about like we want to force turnovers and the fact that he's doing that um in the preseason and did it it was was really impressive there Ron sell says does olaba have too much upside for the practice squad get claimed by a team with safety needs during the year yeah possibly it's just I think most of us were kind of surprised with how how good Al oladapo played and and you know what the grade said and what the film said you know in college that he was drafted in the fifth after guys like Evan Williams with the Packers straight up for Mustafa right uh Jaden Hicks like all these guys went ahead of him and it's just maybe the interest wasn't as high and just the NFL didn't quite see it like some of us did personally I would not wave him personally in my opinion I'm keeping him no matter what but I'm just wondering you know there is that you know little bit of thought that Green Bay thinks ah we could could probably sneak this guy on potentially so um Packers King says Reed can play outside as well I just like a good I like good depth hey that's what that's what we got you know I think when you look at dos and and Wicks those are guys who can be interchangeable in the slot play X as well I think Reed can play Z in slot Melton same thing Watson's going to be Watson's obviously a great Z so like they they've got a good amount and Heath's got you know X and and slot in him as well so I think there's enough versatility with the guys we have not to mention not to mention right that there's going to be plenty of 12 personl too so you know less receivers on the field in those scenarios uh Cody mcdu says who got Cooper to Gene again do we get to face in week one we do get to face him week one he is uh with the Eagles I don't know it sounded like from the eagle side of things that let me get just check the Eagles depth chart really quick for some reason I thought that the Eagles were going to be they were talking about um playing quinan Mitchell in the slot at their nickel to start the season but I'm not sure how they go that rout with what they have currently I don't know I H key Ringo over Mitchell on the outside I wouldn't rule anything out it's it's very possible that Dee does get a look at nickel the Eagles have him you know the the Eagles dep chart I see has both Mitchell and deene as nickel Corners I imagine Mitchell will play on the perimeter at some point so it's possible they face him but depending on it just depends on how the Eagles are going to shape their start we haven't seen any of their starters really um in the preseason so just really hard to know because obviously Mitchell's gotten reps on the perimeter uh in the preseason has done really well but you know all right I can't wait aam dropped in I can't wait to see what he says uh Harry ches said do we keep three QBs on the active um roster and the outcast on the practice squad I think so I think you carry three um specifically because again you know if they they trade for Malik Willis they're going to try something out it seems so he's probably on this practice squad um and I think Pratt should be there as well so and then you know if you want Clifford on the practice squad you won't hear an argument from me on that so okay Ron sville told him uh Philly that's good uh 2.84 close enough oh one at signing 11k guaranteed I assume that's for Jennings okay Harry CH said g said he wanted a QB mill again I mean there should be no reason that the Packers aren't consistently looking at QB options uh to be the backup especially as we've mentioned before how many quarterbacks have started games uh the last couple Seasons so Packers Kingdom says see if Welch can play Mike maybe he can I know he's got good coverage he's done well in coverage thus far but it it does seem like the Mike linebackers hopefully Edan Cooper can take that mantle Hopper probably is going to be somebody who they like for that McDuffy of course but um yeah we'll see we'll see is this late night Packers confessionals amm has a confession um practice squad play pays better than UFL I imagine it does um we support you in your decision kead Nixon should play offense he could be a poor man's Tyler Irvin okay that you know that's a pretty that's a nice little confessional I like it I like it run a quad pass with Reed Wix love Wicks he fam I I'll throw out a confessional as well how about um how about we put Malik Willis out there with Jordan love to QB look got threat as a runner out there right Malik Wills can still throw the Rock you know little 2qb look perhaps could be fun so you never know you never know two QBs a fam possibility uh Dave says Donovan Jang signed three or 2.8 million contract wow 10,000 signing bonus 110,000 guaranteed average anual sale of 946 wow that's that's quite a bit I'm sure again practice squad for him no problem you know potentially want to see him step up next year and make the roster so nice nice Ron sville says look like the Jee was playing nickel on the on the tackle for loss they keep showing yeah it just seemed like Cooper to Jee I think by kind of the time the draft process was done and we were heading into the draft to me it just it felt like and that's where I kept him in terms of the grade that Cooper deene was just going to thrive as a nickel Corner the perimeter it was I think going to be a little more difficult for him uh it just felt like with how he did as a tackler with how physical he could be and with enough of that athleticism and and the smarts that even in even in a lot of quarter stuff where you have to you know the um the patterns dictate how you match in quarters and all that stuff that his high IQ was going to be a good fit for that he landed in a really nice spot in Philly so yeah I think I think him playing nickel um at least at some point this season if he's not a starter um wouldn't surprise me at all so uh deene United baat says Dee missed a lot of time with a hamstring injury didn't have the best showing in uh the last preseason game assume he will be worked back in slowly not a week one impact player yeah I mean it sounds like as I mentioned it seems like the eagles are ready to line up quinan Mitchell to be the nickel uh week one so yeah I don't know how much we'll see deene uh in week one I don't even know if we'll see him on like punt return or anything like that so Packers Kingdom yeah I I will I will look at it for sure as I mentioned just find me on Twitter or X here Packers Kingdom and you should be able to send that over so okay let's shift yours quickly here I'll talk about this really quickly I know that it impacts the RO right the 53 man roster but I wanted to bring this up simply because um a trade and it's a QB and it's you know something interesting we're going to put together a film room don't you worry we're gonna have some fun with that um but I wanted to talk about Malik Willis and so um really quickly so he was he started Auburn right goes to Liberty and and has two pretty solid Seasons we can bring up let's bring it up here on PFF just so we have it um I I keep Malik Willis I keep wanting to type Malik Heath and um Malik Neighbors when I try to type in Willis on this okay so let's go to the ncaaa the regular season okay here we go okay yeah so Willis uh his last two seasons at Liberty right complete 64% in 2020 for 233 yards 20 touchdowns four picks 19 Big Time throws 16 turnover wory plays and then his final season 61.9 completion percentage 2628 yards 24 touchdowns 12 picks 18 turnover worthy plays grades look pretty solid uh until he played like Mississippi right bigger team uh did pretty well against Syracuse so that's you know as good of competition he he he really played uh played pretty well against Army as well and then of course of of course um you have the rushing which final season 1155 yards and 11 touchdowns then had 93 yards and 10 touchdowns the year before 16 fumbles in 2020 glad he cleaned that up um maybe you have to you might have to Packers Kingdom you might have to send a request um but you might have to send a request a message that might be why um but uh yeah so Willis impressive running guy has a live arm at the quarterback position right if we go to what he's done in the NFL in terms of the regular season right you see now this is rushing you donut go to there we go so completed just over 50% of his passes for four and a half yards per attempt no touchdowns three picks in 2022 uh and then in the regular season in 2023 just four of five for 74 yards so not a whole lot there um you know three big time throws but it seems all three turnover worthy plays were interceptions for him yep in 2022 now the the preseason yeah it's it's preseason and it it looks a little better right in 23 and 24 and we didn't obviously see a lot of him in 23 in the regular season um still has some fumbling questions three touchdowns four picks in the 2023 preseason and I know a lot of people were messaging me about the New Orleans game which a lot of people seem to like I think he was like three of four for like 51 yards yeah three of four for 51 yards two touchdowns which is nice 126 for 116 not bad with an interception so I'm excited to see uh beyond the stat stats but what I remember from him is I think the process was a little bit slower for him it just it felt like he could get through progressions but I think it just needed to be ramped it needed to be ramped up it needed to be a little quicker right so that's going to be you know something that he's going to have to get more comfortable with and you know it seemed like there were plenty of times where he could make the slight pocket adjustments he obviously had an incredible arm and could really threaten you know outside the hashes down the field over the middle right he did a lot of really good things in terms of showing off the arm talent I think it's just he got a little is is he wasn't very risk averse right he he challenged windows with his arm there were definitely times where he missed Defenders underneath he missed Defenders over the middle of the field and was confident throwing the football ends up in interceptions yes there's a little bit of you know how that how that sounds and how it describes to what Jordan love did but Jordan love was I think a little more precise I think Willis in college especially really struggled to be able to find a second speed with his throw it was tougher for him to put a lot of Touch under the ball he struggled to put enough air on the ball with stuff outside the numbers further down the field he was just much more you know I have this fast ball let me use the fastball type of player rather than yeah I can I can throw off speed as well so that was something you had to work on I I don't remember a whole lot from the live viewings other than you know some of the turnovers and just some of the the slow process and he he kind of had to become the Scrambler quite a bit so I'm excited to see how this goes I I it's a project for sure um he's already 25 so that's that's notable right so he it's not the youngest player in the world but you know there are tools to work with so I'd be interested to see what um what they can potentially do it's worth it it's worth an upside swing to throw seventh rounder um his way let's catch up on some comments really quick first game could have tiebreaker implications it definitely could um Dave says what's the idea on running backs CU I have one yeah send your idea running back for sure um he was a li Liberty yep Prince Capas saying Clemens is going to be very busy that's for sure that is uh a definite there um watch the spill it picket play that's always fun yes Cody absolutely um I think this Dave says I think this Trey has a lot more implications than just backup quarterback um mobile uh Willis a mobile quarterback we play Herz richardon Murray this year yeah he could definitely be a good scout team quarterback for that there's no doubt um but they have to believe in something um trading a seventh round pick to be like yeah we we'd like to be our Scott team quarterback I'm sure that they uh have more um planned for him than just that so but it is nice it is another plus uh in that column of like that makes sense to go get him so um Janelle says like the trade let's see what Clemens can do absolutely we can have aam start working on the names for the Maliks sounds good APM says do we think AJ moves to the Quad Cities if he gets cut um you know maybe maybe uh yeah I don't see the request so I'm able to do that do you have any other app well I mean you could follow and just drop them in in the comments on X I imagine so if you want to do that on anything go for it because I don't think you can send pictures of mock in here but uh yeah amm says thankfully the Vikings didn't get Daniels or penx potentially penx is Mike Mike Vic maybe maybe um hey Lee what's going on what's going on Lee good to see you here says uh good to catch a live looks like Willis can play from the pocket not just a play extender yeah there's definitely times where he is not always looking to scramble um but sometimes his process is a little bit slower to where he has to scramble um but yeah he's definitely he can definitely reset his feet and make some subtle adjustments it's there but sometimes those subtle adjustments create like some mechanical issues when he's throwing and you see some wider misses um but it seems like he's at least taking a little bit of steps from at least from what I'm seeing on like Twitter timeline from a lot of people who are already getting to Malik Willis film so yeah that'll be an interesting one I'll be dropping that film room tomorrow for sure a says saw someone saying this was a bad trade I don't believe that he's a high IQ QB he can run similar to Clifford but he has an arm and showed improvements yeah I mean the big arm tools Mobility right can you coach him to have a faster process yeah I I don't think this is a bad tra I don't think it's ever bad to try and go try to improve backup quarterback at the very least um and to do it for a seventh round pick I get it green base hit a lot in the seventh round recently which is f like that's awesome but that that hit rate is just statistically speaking not going to continue probably so I I think you know oh no we could have used that seventh round pick on other guys that you know could eventually be quality starters is like that statistically speaking probably not going to happen I I'm fine with him kind of goody going yeah seventh round picks done really well recently like you know probably not going to get that every time might as well see if we can get some out of a quarterback so hopefully the clipboard game is strong Malik a little like Justin Fields but that can work as a backup Justin Fields would have been a fine backup in green I think as well too um here Jo s off glance I think I prefer Willis's throwing motion over fields the the one thing with the throwing motion for Willis is he kind of gets the the chest is sometimes high and when pitchers get that they you see that stuff kind of tail out to the right and and up so he has to make sure that he's not quite doing that there are times where that was a thing in College especially but the throwing motion is a little bit cleaner hey fam goodness use Malik as the runner we can do wild cats my second favorite Malik in Wisconsin um he's better than Clifford I I think it's very possible yeah so crazy Hawai Willis was rated pre-draft although it was a down year for QB see I think I had a late two or early three on on Willis and he was near the top of my list it was just not a good year for QBs and so I think there were definitely some of those prince who there was definitely some people who had Malik Willis very high like I saw him believe it or not in people's top 10 I saw him in people's top three Malik Willis I thought that was very very rich I really didn't like any of the QBs I wasn't over the moon with any of them I think Ritter and Willis was were like my top two um just turns out Brock py was way better than everybody else um so of course of course Mr Irrelevant the one year the QB class is bad turns out to be the best guy sure um but yeah I think I think there was though a slight difference between those guys who had him rated very highly in terms of as a prospect versus I think people like myself and many others who thought there was a chance that these QBs were going to go high anyway because of you know the demand for quarterback and the desperation that teams you know have to grab a franchise quarterback that would that pushed them up the board it just didn't happen that way and and they kind of saw it how most of us I think saw it where it was just like I don't think you should take any of these guys in the first right like I just don't feel like it's it's worth your time to do that so yeah it was there there were there were varying opinions for sure but I think the majority and and how I viewed it and I remember talking about it was like these guys aren't these guys aren't great but demand might push them up further than we can imagine it just didn't quite happen that way picket did go in the first though so he's better than Clifford and Pratt I'm not sure Willis is better than Pratt but we'll see we'll see I would lean Pratt at this point especially one because Pratt's already got you know a little bit of the offense under his belt Malik wils is going to have to learn a little bit but we'll see Dave had an idea at running back and I'm glad he um dropped this says my running back idea is Jacobs Dylan Wilson and Lloyd on uh the design for return IR Dylan goes IR after 53 man pending injury bring him mccre if he clears waivers Willis has a slow read so I hope Clement's might fix yeah okay yeah I think when we were going over our 53s it's it made sense to have either Lloyd or Dylan on IR uh designated to return to take one of those spots at least so yeah I makes sense I think yeah I think Green Bay could easily stash a running back on the practice squad as well well for sure I like that idea Dave um ay says quality backup Q be over seventh round under 99% of the time for sure for sure yeah and then and of course yeah that is that possibility um to net some value in this trade so Wilson definitely looked improved this year I assume he's talking about Emanuel Wilson I think so as well I think he's I think he's on the roster I'd be shocked if he wasn't um Ron sville says actually good he could keep his give up his third round picks keep his sevenths maybe yeah um Malik will always wanted him on day three yeah day three would have been a Fine Place to select him I think he went 83rd to the Titans it's fine too um Dana says Pratt she thinks Pratt has the most long-term potential of your guys so I was a bit confused I think maybe it's just cuz they they are just unsure about both Clifford and Pratt after the preseason it felt like there was plenty to clean up in terms of how they played I'm still a believer in Pratt as well so maybe this was just like yeah we don't see it with Clifford we need a third guy and they still want Pratt to be that that backup but they they see potential upside in Willis so yeah it was a little kind of wild when that first came across the across the timeline but we'll see we'll see AFM wants to get Emanuel Wilson Jersey that sounds fun I watched some Pacho at Chiefs practice while that guy's a top three running back wow that's if you throw out all the stats yeah he's he's pretty darn good um I don't know how he passes mcaffrey and I think bejan and and Bree Hall are going to have big years this year and really get back on um in that upper echelon of backs jir Gibbs I think can prove that as well and I think Jonathan Taylor can get right back up there so it's it's going to be highly contested up there with P but he he is darn good he he is good at he is such a powerful Runner he's he's got that impressive like flexibility I remember during that Chiefs Packers game last year it looked like he was hurt twice and it it was he was fine he must be working on that kind of flexibility training that that Mahomes works on as well so you can tell if Matt's a really good coach like Kyle if you put any QB in our offense they should produce that would let you you know if our offense is really good yeah but I think you have to have a QB that you know I think we we look at this and say any QB can can work in this offense you still have to make quick decisions make good pre- snap decisions and post Snap decisions and throw an accurate football and just even everybody in the league isn't quite great at that and and that's the desperation to find the franchise QB so um pretty sure this draft a says this draft will dispel the third round curse well I'm hoping it's last year's right with Tucker Craft um so you know but you know this having Lloyd and Hopper be good would be awesome too stats are overrated Clifford going to try to go pay back at Penn State for another six years sometimes I swear Pica turns into robot in a good way Power Rangers Transformer nice yeah yeah um Dave says did you go over Pearson as an h-back option instead of having Davis since he's injured we did not go over that I I get it they brought him back they brought Pearson back you know during the preseason which is notable but I just feel like one I think Tucker craft can be an HB as well if they really want to get crazy with that but maybe yeah if Davis is injured maybe they go that route that's not something we talked about as much on derailed either not impossible if they really want the HB on the team but I I don't know I I think I think they can just keep four tight ends or three tight ends and put one on a to return and just kind of I feel like Pearson's good I feel like Pearson's fine on the practice squad I don't think anybody's going to be jonesing to pick him up right he came back to Green Bay they brought him back so I imagine he'll be able to be stashed on practice squad if they need him to come up uh they can do that in season so Drew Diaz will any player that's not on the roster now make the team uh within a week of cutdown I wondering if it's going to be Long Snapper right they they maybe get they maybe cut orac and they got to find another Long Snapper that would be my guess um to make the team within a week of cut down is a a new Long Snapper that's how I would go um tell that to Trey Lance Tre Lance can run Shan must have taught him that yeah Tre Lance another one who's just who's process processing speed and mechanics became an issue and just have not it just hasn't gotten better um Pearson is an elevation option I agree with that yeah I think he I think he can easily be on the practice squad uh use guys like Davis and Pearson as elevations it just feels like they really like Davis so they might keep him um Packers King all right so we I'm gonna get into the last segment after this should we trade for Damen Pierce from the Texans my only concern with Pierce is if Green Bay is going to stick with primarily Zone running I think that doesn't fit Pierce at all Pierce needs the duo the Gap scheme runs where he can press the line of scrimmage and then find the Gap and go he doesn't need to be waiting waiting waiting in the back field uh to make a cut in zone I just feel like Zone pushes him to horizontal um and he needs that downhill vertical you know power man running style right like the Hat on hat running or the power running or getting behind pullers to to use that early momentum North and South I I just feel like he hasn't been a he wasn't a good fit once slowick uh came aboard for the Texans to kind of run that more Zone scheme I think that's why the Texans went and got Mixon because he's been very very effective in zone running um so if the Packers are going to stick with more Zone running I don't like the fit with Pierce Pierce needs to find a team uh that can you know kind of emphasize more power and GAP running the Chargers would be an excellent fit I think there with with Greg Roman I think they're going to get into a lot of those um types of runs for sure so yeah I think Pierce just has to find a a gap scheme uh to go to uh to kind of get back to form that he did as a rookie can we use Pearson like Kyle yusek from the Niners I don't I don't think so I don't think he's quite the athlete and receiver that yuse is JD said I watched a breakdown of Lance's mechanics recently pretty ugly yeah it's not great it's not great uh hear me out though 13 personnel with craft Pearson Musgrave and Jacobs what about 13 personnel with Sims we don't like that we don't like that um like I said my Cardinal Discord Trey Lance could be a plus change of pace back and returner that would be fun that would be fun yeah I mean if Trey Lance could be that guy where somebody goes you know um the 2qb system right where you're kind of like ah this guy can run but he can throw it too like you got to be careful with him in the backfield that could that Trey Lance maybe he's the guy to to Really unlock that at the at uh this level this I saw Drew d as well I saw someone bring this up trade for Ernest Jones yeah if they really want I think Ernest Jones is a Mike linebacker if they really wanted that I'm not opposed to it at all because it sounds like he's kind of the odd man out in LA right now um obviously Green Bay added a lot of young Talent um but uh I don't know I I feel like the linebacker room they might like enough guys where they might not do that that I don't know what the Rams are going to be asking um for either oh he's 230 so I would think it will I feel like Green Bay's got enough guys there especially if they keep Welch like Welch seems to be a cover guy so he can be off the ball you know further off the ball Quay seems like a guy who can be further off the ball I would love to see Cooper take over the mike but if not he can play off the ball it feels like we got enough of those guys I I would like to find more of a Mike linebacker um via trade than than a will linebacker amm says we have too many offensive weapons uh makes my spin there's a lot of them wouldn't he be an upgrade from Dylan he probably would he probably would be an upgrade from Dylan but uh yeah I just don't I just don't think the fit is very good and I don't think that Dylan fits good so that's fair um and I think he would be an upgrade from Dylan but I don't know I feel like there there might be other backs that get cut that might be better fits for zone that they might be watching for so and Lee brings up one right here the Jets release up onaconda there you go there's your home run guy yeah yeah cuz the Jets they drafted two running backs which I thought was very strange they drafted Allen I think they drafted Isaiah Davis so yeah if abona is the odd men out that would be interesting P King like have plays for Josh and Lloyd and Pierce yeah they've mixed up runs um they've mixed up run scheme stuff before but they're still primarily Zone and I just feel like I feel like if you're if you're just a specific small set of plays for Pierce I would want Pierce more in a featured early down role and I just I feel like Green Bay is going to have too much zone for that and so i' much rather just kind of keep what they have in place and maybe go after an iaca right like somebody like that who's got a little more juice uh and and maybe feels like a better fit in zone but you know different mixture understandable hey I didn't say I didn't like it with simps through the I'm sorry Dave I didn't I didn't mean it like that I just I think it'd be fun yeah I think 13 Personnel is a heck of a lot of fun I think Arizona showed that it can be a a ton of fun to being 13 I I'm not mad at Pearson being a part of 13 but I do think Sims is going to be on the roster so but third Dave I'm not no arguments here on on tossing out some third te Personnel I think that'd be fun oh what do we got about Tyler van DJ fam what are we what are we doing here um drewy says I think Musgrave will surpass craft but they tight ends I think Musgrave again Musgrave is perfect for seam stretching chunk plays on crossers at the tight end position really really strong y tight end maybe he you know can offer something in terms of Zone blocking that could be beneficial I think craft is going to be the combo tight end right blocking and receiving so they are definitely different i i in theory we should be in the draft grading guys like that differently right you should have a separate category for y tight ends right move tight ends those are should be in different categories right in line and move so one could surpass the other but technically I do I think they're playing different is positions so Camp Thomas preseason showcase leads trade from Cardinals to Chiefs interesting interesting per wrap sheet at outside linebacker okay oh Cam Thomas is the San San Diego State guy right I that I think I I think that's correct yeah I'm pretty sure that's I think that's right Dana I believe that's right right the San Diego State guy who you know pretty flexible powerful bigger guy Chiefs probably need some more depth there so Dave says we have enough 230 240 pound inside linebackers yeah they did get a little bit bigger um I think both Cooper and hopper in the 230s but yes um a says can't Welch be a reliable mic backup option smart and tough enough to take on blocks right I saw that play where he threw the lineman around yeah I think he's got that ability potentially but man that coverage ability is real nice but yeah if they think he can be a Mike then I think he's got to be on the roster because I imagine some team has seen plenty of teams have seen seen him play and they go yeah we could we could use that so yeah if he can shed and make tackles then yeah I don't I don't see why not as long as he's as long as he's got the processing stuff down as well and he's ramping himself up in that regard I don't see why not can't wait to see some of those Jordan love quick passes for sure yep I mean we got a great group of yards after the catch players we really do Josh Pierce with the lightning too cold in the winter yeah it it'd be nice I mean hey hold on a minute I mean you know Lloyd is lightning but Lloyd is you know 5'8 220 and like he's not small so he can generate some pop too in the pads and run behind his pads a little bit as well so Green Bay's got you know four big backs I think Emanuel Wilson's like 226 and then you have Dylan who's 220 plus as well like they have it's a room of pretty big dudes right you know you don't see 185lb Devon a chains in this offense right so I mean they're they're all pretty big guys which I think we forget a little about with with Lloyd right because he's so explosive we forget how powerful he is too love is a poor B's Mahomes my oh goodness gracious a fam um Dave says what's funny is you're one of the only people that agrees with me running 13 13 is super cool especially especially when you have a player like Musgrave in 13 because think about this right so you're in 13 um and you have Watson out there right so you're in 13 personnel with Watson is the only receiver you have Watson and Musgrave who can both stretch the seam and you've got guys underneath and you've got a running game there's a lot you could build off of that so um use mus grave in the slot move around let craft play why yeah that's I mean they're gonna have Musgrave be a lot of wing looks I imagine when they're in when they're in 12 if they're gonna have you know um the formations with tight ends on the same side right they're going to have musra in that Wing they're probably going to motion him around quite a bit as well so yeah they're going to probably have slightly different roles Dana says yes San Diego State okay he's up to 267 wow yeah it did seem like he had a lot of you know height and enough length in his frame to add add more to his Fram so yeah 267 more but I'm totally find that he's he's getting more comfortable uh playing within the pocket so Dave says I expect gosh darn it this darn thing uh Dave says I expect orbit motion and crossers for days this year I'm gonna nice yeah I like that Michael Jackson popcorn it it's a good that's a good gift um yeah I I I think so I think so I I think you know you can probably orbit motion with you know Watson or Reed or Melton yeah you're going to be able to do a lot and another year of another year in a full offseason under under the belt for These Guys these young players is hopefully going to keep things humming on offense so love has some good speed not a Bruiser so he can slide but can run yeah oh a fam I think he could he could definitely require a spy right like there are plenty of QBs that like Mahomes who aren't like the fastest scramblers but are Savvy enough scramblers that teams kind of have to keep an eye on them and and love could be in that category yeah yeah we can run anything 1322 yeah I think that's all on the table so I wonder if craft has any Jewels left after all those leaps goodness sakes amm says Mahomes flat out won a Super Bowl scrambling Follow The Playbook hard not to it's hard to disagree with that I mean Mahomes has won the Super Bowl doing a few different things so anytime you can follow that Playbook I mean you might as well you might as well okay so let's get to this last quick thing ran Gary rushing the passer so this um this is from and I'm going to tag him in the channel That that he works for um in the probably in the description as well once we're done but uh at no Flags film um he does uh stuff on a toz sports film rooms if if Packers fans you've probably seen his video on the Packers receivers if you haven't you should go go check that out it is a toz sports film room um he did this work with pass rushers and um you know um total pressures right uh move pressures and then UPS is I think unblocked pursuit or stunt yeah I believe that's what they are and so that they they have he has like General categories for pressures on certain moves right power counter mov speed moves um and then you have the types of power moves guys use the types of counter moves and then the types of speed moves so the speed rip the ghost Rush which if anybody doesn't know what the ghost Rush is it's kind of Fain like you're going to initiate some contact and then dip underneath it um the swipe chop cross chop all of those moves so I wanted to bring this up because Gary's on here right you can see ran Gary uh 63 total pressures um and 20 of those being unblocked in pursuit or on stunts which you know when you look at most of these that's pretty in line with a lot of others right in terms of the percentage that that were um unblocked Pursuit and stunt other than like maybe van GLE who's were like 50% um Max and and Hutchinson's were a little bit lower but you see some 50/50 there across the board see some 30% 33% there too but uh really wanted to look at this when you know you look at the moves that Gary puts on power just 37% of his pressures were from power and TW and and 46% from speed which I thought was really interesting you wouldn't think you wouldn't think that Gary would be a you know more effective speed rusher because when you look at the moves right the speed rip in the ghost I could see him being effective there because he's generating enough explosion off the snap to you know rip through cuz that kind of trims quote unquote the edge for you it kind of gets you to flatten your angle a little bit easier uh and the ghost move is an interesting one as well but it just involves you know less hand usage less counter moves and just more of like this is a go-to to um uh to kind of attack that outside shoulder as well a little less in the counter moves I when you look at the the big time counter move guys you see a lot of more of the artists I would say right who have the really really strong hand usage Max Crosby's being a little bit higher and that's that's kind of the exception cuz I think he's got more power and explosion to his game as a bigger guy Clowny is being that high is interesting but here the the real artists surprised boses isn't super high but he wins with a lot of power Leonard Floyd's definitely the sack artist type right he's at 33% denil Hunter for sure is one of those guys 35 Mack at 20 Mack's just awesome so you know he's just he's living everywhere uh van gle's in that tie with 36% and then Hutchinson's definitely kind of that guy where Hutchinson wasn't the most explosive or Speedy guy so he had to find a way to win in other ways he doesn't have super long arms to win with power either so he has to win with a lot of counters definitely more of the artist types so thought this was interesting I there's I think a few more if I scroll down yeah like Bryce Huff is definitely a a rusher that's you know you bring it on sub packages so he's got more speed I'm surprised Garrett has that much speed redx in that same category so you know Will Anderson and carus winning with a lot and lot of power I was surprised again that that Garry's had a little less power than I expected a little more speed and you see on Garry's that the speed rip 11 pressures on the speed rip which I can definitely definitely see so this was just an interesting thing that that um that he that this guy posted which I think was cool and there's a little bit more to it so I want to do that really quick as well where did you go okay let's go down here so most pressures with a spin move Gary's in here somewhere I don't it's not here but there's the power right speed you got more of your speed rushers even though chub and guys like that but Bryce Huff makes sense here TJ Watt and Garrett and you're you're going to see guys Michael Parson's being counter and not speed I thought was really interesting but you can see that Gary's somewhere where is he I know he's here somewhere yeah here we go pressure leaders for some other move so Gary in the top 10 in terms of the ghost move which I thought was interesting just three pressures but you can see Pittsburgh goes heavy on ghost moves with heith and Watt so just a little interesting thing there um and you know Gary was top 10 in terms of diversity um how how versatile his move set is so that's you know another positive in the column for Gary who I think you know as we kind of talk about it right he um you know has a lot to his bag and can should be at least you know someone who who can really disrupt games this year and I'm looking forward to that and and I'm wondering if there's anything that that half and Company can get out of him a little bit extra this year so yeah just a little something there to kind of finish things up um on the show so aam says Gary could be a problem for defenses for sure a joy saw this said notice players who excel at counter generally tend to be better more versatile I agree I think developing the counter shows you have you know a more versatile skill set and more technically refined skill set as well so aam says I just still see effort issues he could dominate on every play if he had Kay Matthews effort okay but I don't blame Gary he got paid yep a said I've seen Gary definitely Bend The Edge and get under guy's arms cleanly not often but he can I assume with that rip and the ghost move um is what you're talking about there so when Gary is healthy he's like lightning coming off The Blind Side but he lost a step last season says Antonio yeah I mean I think you know he yeah when he's playing and then maybe this this scheme is going to let him attack even more I'm excited to see if it does but um yeah I think I'm excited uh to see if if any of this changes with with the um with the scheme change so hm says Gary has three to four Elite pass rush moves LVN has 05 effective moves LVN is lv's Rush bag is how hard can I run into this guy essentially so um seeing this also makes me happy we moved on from sedarius I don't like his game yeah he plays a little out of control he kind of you know beats to his own drum a little bit as a rusher so it's fair ah yes a fam I Miss Simone biles I mean I will say I non- Packers related non football related if you didn't watch the Olympics she's one of the best of all time there's no doubt about that so which was really fun to watch [Music] um LVN a power rusher might have a better inside move than out yeah LVN is probably not going to be somebody who's turning the corner a whole lot right I think yeah trying to use that the speed and explosion he generates to just kind of threaten to the outside more but have the ability to kind of with that athleticism change direction to win with Inside Moves I think is I think is fair for sure oh Chris how's it going good to see you um yeah Antonio I agree vaness definitely has uh the the the bull rush the speed to power explosion to power whatever you want to call it he definitely has that um and guys can win with that you can win consistently with that if you land a good strike on most of your rushes I think him being in the three-point stance more this year is going to be a big deal right so I think that um when you look at where he has room uh to grow it's probably going to be in the same realm of Gary where he's using he's more of that speed rip and the and the ghost rather than you know kind of developing spins or anything like that we we if you remember the film room we did last year right with vaness it was kind of like a this spin move is rough uh so it's just probably like he needs to he needs to have more in his bag for sure but I think it's just working on like one or two things he doesn't need to expand the repoire that much so little Wayne should coach special teams nice um Gary talked about I thinks happy will let him get in his bagmore which is great if this defense is not good do you think it's the way we draft and players not getting it it could be a c it could be a philosophy thing yeah it definitely could um yeah I don't I don't know I think yeah I don't know the approach of defensive tackle might need to change a little bit right and maybe they get back to you know Kenny Clark can kind of do it all a little bit more and I think maybe trying to find that I think they were looking for that in Wyatt and we hoping he got better as a run Defender he just hasn't so you know maybe maybe they're looking in the draft for a true three down a defensive tackle who can pretty much do everything that might be a philosophy thing I I thought that always the philosophy was weird when they were playing excuse me 34 and they had you know Edge rushers out or outside linebackers that were 265 to 270 that didn't kind of make sense to me in the 34 but um you know that's that's kind of a thing that I think uh can be remedied with the scheme change though so yeah it could be just a you know they're looking for all these physical tools they need to just find some you know just better players overall but I I don't know the philosophy yeah might have to change if it's not good this year would have to redo the defense trade some pieces potentially oh respect oranges what's going on says to me Michael Phelps was so dominant yeah I mean he's obviously one of the one of the greatest as well there's no doubt um but I mean Simone winning essentially could have probably if not for um kind of gymnastics I think version of The Yips I I don't remember what it's called exactly but could have had like three allaround Golds which is absurd in that sport um so but like yeah Phelps Lei biles all awesome there's your little Olympic nugget there 7033 cone was I think what lvns was um so so late probably missed a lot yeah we definitely talked about a lot I wasn't expecting on to be I wasn't um expecting to be on here for 90 minutes honestly but there you go um oh goodness a lot of interesting three cone talk that I'm not going to put up there but I'm glad you guys are having fun within the comments um Packers kingham says I want to byon Murphy yeah that would have been a lot of fun he he's going to be a big- time Factor early on in that defense I I really believe that and McDonald might have you know pretty good defense Woolen Witherspoon right uh they're going to have Murphy there maf's looked a lot better um they traded for Travis Gibson they got rid of Daryl Taylor which I thought was weird but that defense could be a lot of fun I think spoon's going to be not quite their Hamilton cuz I don't think he's going to play on the roof but I think um Withers spon in the slot's going to be a problem so Prince cop saon saying halfly AED the entire defensive line we'll have to wait for 25 to see what guys they go after for that specific fit yeah cuz they really didn't um they really didn't do a whole lot with the defensive line and we were kind of talking a lot about it we didn't get to see we didn't get much so yeah we'll see if anything changes and Halle you know says like this defense is good but I need this in the draft so we need a speed rusher I just don't think in a 4-3 they're going to go after anyone like that they need you're going to need to find a bigger guy who can speed rush and I I just think the if they weren't going to go to 240 pound players in a 34 they're definitely not going to do it uh in this defense so unless unless they have a designated guy for third down because I know obviously Bryce Huff was there in New York and Clayton has talked about this and others have talked about this how this defense might mirror that more solid defense so yes if they find somebody um in that mold perhaps but it just it would be it'd be very weird if they finally were like ah yeah let's get a 240 PB rusher now um when you know we it made way more sense to do it when they were in a 34 but you never know I'm looking for Bryce Huff's freaking R and I cannot find it cuz I was was going to look up like how big he was but anyway so maybe and I mean obviously the Jets went after reic and he's a little smaller so I guess it's not impossible but it'd be nice to um it would be nice to have that for sure maybe they think they have that in brenon Cox we'll see isn't bolt a Packer fan I think he might be yeah I think so so um I power but I need Edge rushers that can be like Von Miller and his prime yeah it'd be nice to have Von Miller Reggie White uh Gilbert Brown or John Randall yes any of those guys would be very helpful very very helpful no doubt okay so I think we're going to call it for the evening however I'm GNA show these to you just because I had some fun um I went and did a couple mock drafts today just for fun um just seeing what I could come up with here who cares about the grades don't worry about those um uh PFF is especially when PFF goes you should have drafted Carson Beck at quarterback in the first round no I refuse uh but someone like Denzel Burke someone like a Johnny Cornelius who's played right tackle Right Guard and then kind of Walter Nolan who a lot of people believe could take a leap um as a pass rusher and potential three- down defensive tackle so that's one of the mocks really quick um and then this one I liked a little bit better uh we go get Dion Walker from Kentucky who's a big guy 66 340 is um who could probably you know slide right into the one Tech but also be a disruptive Force there as a pass rusher so there you go and then Jabar Muhammad somebody who's really really competitive out there corner and then Nicholas Singleton if the running back room doesn't work out this year and there's a lot of expectations that aren't met they can potentially to move on from Jacobs and then they go get a guy like Singleton who I think has especially his best football ahead of him as a running back so there you go two quick mock drafts uh for you guys there Bryce off's not in the database that stinks well that's why um PFF was fed the script okay they know we need a QB sure sure that's possible maybe in the third round I I feel like
