left with the B for from him but that's just aimless he's trying to get Island up the field Le will chase after it obediently but he knew that he had no chance of getting on the end of it Alexander Arnold easy favor to get there and the play out from the back Manu with time to turn and rice will be able to bring it forward and rice just running away from schmon feeds the ball out towards the left hand side of the penalty area Gordon greish with the ball in from the overlap that one's blocked he he's able to get back on the loose ball immediately lays it back for cwell England 20 yards outside the Irish penalty area as Mayu feeds Alexander Arnold small B in there as Chief Midfield Destroyer again oh and think to themselves look the way the first half looked this game could have gone away from us and look very embarrassing they would be boyed up by the way the game finished in the second half Lee carsley has been onto the pitch gone over to the England fans to applaud them he is now walking slowly towards back towards his technical area and towards the tunnel as well Dean rice is out there on the pitch and uh he's been he's had a little cuddle with Lee carsley and also gone to the England f to applaud them as well he's now making his way with the rest of the England players as well off the pitch I think ultimately you know in in International Football you've come away You've Won 2-0 in a competitive game in the Nations League after the N last Nations League campaign it's it's good to get a win it was a shambles the last one and understandably so in the uh circumstances postco but England have got the win what does Lee carsley take away from this game that he's got a lot of work to do or that he's satisfied or a bit of both I think there's a couple of things I think England play at high Tempo and on occasion really get you off your seat and you get excited by it which we saw in the first half second half for whatever reason we think well we take this thing out of the game we'll keep the ball and we get worse and it encourages the opposition and I'm not just talking about today I'm talking about in general what with what we've seen with England performances I would like to see us on the front foot playing a little bit more aggressive and quicker with the ball because when we have done that the two goals were symptomatic at that a we were very very good played behind the opposition Running With The Ball running without the ball there was some certainly some bright Sparks I thought greish looked to really enjoyed his role certainly in the first half golden good movement off off the flank uh sacko was his normal self again once again gay he looks very assured at the back and now security policy when when needed um and but just we'd have liked to seen a bit more of what we saw in the first half continually through the second just a a word on the substitutions because Ireland made two substitutions one enforced when the skipper Coleman had to go off uh when O'Brien came on a minute later Knight comes on for Dy and that really changed on and they got on the front foot after that they were using on Benny well down the right he uh he did well against coell I thought um CH Benny but those two substitutions happened 57 and 58 minutes England didn't make a change until 76 uh and the criticism of GTH Southgate was that he waited too long he was too slow to react is that what we saw today from Lee carsley that he was too slow to react to Ireland taking the initiative no I think we saw Lee Carley with a game plan of how long he wanted to play his players more so than I'm playing the game what I'm seeing in front of me that's that's how I viewed it I think he had a view and a mindset to what's coming on Tuesday evening as well and the minutes that he wants to play certain players on Tuesday I think we'll see changes on Tuesday I really do and I think quite a few I think there'll be at least six changes within the starting 11 I may be wrong but that's the way I'm viewing it with the minutes that that we we saw today and I'm just looking at the highlights real when you when you see England's uh two chances and two goals the way we finished them uh the Republic had two very very similar chances in the second half that they probably should have done slightly better with so small margins yeah I think was certainly smodic were the first one should they should have got on target they didn't get them on target we also shortly after those two irland chances gave the ball away in their own box so there was a period there where Ireland really got on top and could even have got back on level terms ultimately though England get the victory Ireland nil England two will have reaction from the England Camp from the new interim manager Lee car that's to come on talk sport we're here live from the Aviva stadium in Dublin until 7:30 after that it's Jason KY and Jamie Jermaine pennant taking you know so the bottom line is you can only win games good clean sheet 2- nil I think it a fair reflection of the superiority from one team to the other would have been a 4-0 score line as we sit here now one game down five to go of of his initial spellers into him and then the decision will be taken as to what happens next what do we think needs to happen over those six games for Lee Carley to stake a claim that England fans would want him to be the man that replaces Gareth if you're asking me the question I would say a a consistency of performance is what I would look for I mean this isn't about this is not for me about judging Lee carsley it's more so judging the team's performance in many ways and saying look yeah we talk about having a great clutch of players we talk about going on but we need to improve on what we've done and I tell you what what we've done over the last8 years has been incredible in the performances of where we've got to and you're judged on where you get to in tournaments you know people look back you know two finals in a semifinal good luck in surpassing that by the way whoever you are
