is taking steps to make sure that they are ready for Fran scene many people still remember the devastation Left Behind from Hurricane Ida about 3 years ago news's Destiny Beasley shows us how the parish is getting ready hurricane Idol caus major damage in Ascension Parish but this year Public Works director Ron Savoy says they are prepared to face hurricane franceen uh we also have our cut and push Crews for trees and wind damage that may or may not arise uh we'll be ready for that and have Crews 24 hours a day throughout the event on standby Savo says they have their flood protection infrastructure in place but he encourages citizens to do their part of clearing all Drainage Systems from debris he says as they're keeping track of the severity of Francine they advise everyone to stay inside if possible usually about 24 48 hours out we'll start getting the stats of what's coming our way and again that that office of emergency preparedness is the source that I would definitely rely upon but there may be a point uh that we urge citizens to to shelter down in place until the threat of the storm eye is is out in the way of threat to the parish the city of Gonzalez they're already preparing for Hurricane frontine to touch down they already have sandbags ready to go for all citizens if we go to a level of bulk sand and bags throughout stationary sites within the parish on both the East bank and the West Bank so I would follow our office of emergency preparedness as lead on that to their media Post in Ascension Parish Destiny Beasley WBZ News 2
